The last time I played the sims 4 i spent so long my sim and their cute tiny home, only for them to die in a fire the first time they made mac and cheese. Good times.
One time when I was playing this game my sim got pregnant but before she could deliver the baby she aged up into an elder and got stuck in pregnancy purgatory and would not die or give birth
As time goes by, the townies die and you end up having the town full of tombstones. At ground level you can collect them, but those in the water stay there forever. Additionally, the game generates new ones, but never takes into account the number of empty houses, so there will be entire families living in community lots. I remember that one of my sims child became friends with a little girl, and wanting to see where she lived and search through the houses, I had to use the friendship filter in the map search engine. She lived in the gym, along with other sims who didn't have the same last name.
when I tell you I had neighbors and they were always sitting outside. and one of them always had to pee but didn't go LMAOAO. or there was this little girl that literally just walked into my house. every. single. time.

The glitch at 25:33 was so annoying and unavoidable that the multiple cars *not* properly unloading in a save file could straight up cause corruption. I would lose so many save files to corruption when I played this on the Wii, and it took me looking through forums online to realize that the problem arises with Sims 3 on Wii never clearing its own gameplay cache when you play. What NPC cars are supposed to do is unload when they leave town through the tunnels, but they just...don't. They just pile more and more textures/car engine sound effects until your file inevitability corrupts itself when loading the save from the main menu. Oh, and apparently, the developers never coded the NPC's to replenish their needs like the sims are supposed to do. That's why there's always so many graves in the streets; they typically die of starvation. Sometimes old age...but mostly starvation. 😅

And that’s why the Xbox/PS3 was superior over the Wii/PC/Mac version. In every version of the Sims 3, the open world is just falling apart 😭 Thankfully a bunch of Sims 3 mods help pick up the pieces but its just so troublesome.
And the 3DS version only had a community zone with places to hang out like the theater and gym. TS3 pets on the 3ds did improve things a bit more though, such as adding a clothing shop, and a few more community areas.

As soon as I played it on the other one the discs stopped working in that too, I looked online years later and found many other people with the disc had the same problem
I loved this game when I was a kid, I literally had so much fun! In my opinion, the gimmick that you control your sim like this is soooo fun and I was actually blown away when I played this the first time that you can just go anywhere in the town! But! Yes, it sooo glitchy...I always had this glitch that my sims someday weren't able to use the fridge anymore and I also couldn't sell it, so I always ended up having like three fridges lol
Also, explanation for the town sims all diying: This is something I also only found out a few years ago, it's actually what the game tells you in the beginning, that you have like 50 days or so to complete your sims goal - so, as the 50 days come to an end, the town sims will slowly all die, until your time is also over, that's why you cant change the lifespan. And let me tell you, when I played this as a child I was freaked out because I didn't know what was going on! It was literally so scary walking through the town and it was just empty with gravestones littering the streets! Such a weird thing to put into the game tbh lol
I HATE THE FRIDGE GLITCH!!! It was always because a plate would glitch into the fridge. Once that would happen it was done. Couldn’t be used, couldn’t be sold. It even happened in neighboring houses so the sims who occupied that house would die of starvation 😭
Omg the nostalgia 🥺 this was my first sims game that I got when I was like 10. I remember finally getting it on the pc a few years later and having a hard time adjusting to not being able to freely run around. Also that fire hazard thing is weird as hell, luckily it never happened to me
I have an insanely vivid memory of playing this as a kid, making my family and watching one of my parents burn to death while trying to cook. It literally traumatized me for years 💀
Ah, yes. This Abomination! I didn't have a 360 or ps3 at the time, but I did have a wii, and I remember being excited that Sims 3. I remember everything being buggy and slow, and I was so disappointed that I didn't know the gender of the 'baby' until after naming them and feeling even more disappointed when they appeared as a child. I also remember coming across random headstones around town and taking them to the cemetery.... This was definitely a miss! I soon got a 360 sorted and enjoyed that port.
I remember we had sims 2 pets for PlayStation and some grandparent must’ve bought us the bargain-bin Sims 3 Wii version thinking it’d be even better… not 5 min in I was like “this is not the sims I know and this is also barely playable” but I LOVED the premade *treehouse* in the game omg I still do! I wish someone would remake it for sims 4! And the multiplayer minigame randomly included is actually the most fun part of the disc lmao me and my siblings played that minigame probably a hundred times 😂 we were always trying to pick the options that would let us become ghosts and keep playing
I just remember how glitchy this game was. I remember having an infinite fire that wouldn’t be put out, before my sim fell through the map. That essentially bricked my game, as every save I started from there was glitchy af.
i remembers as a kid playing the sims 2 and just aways watching sims 3 lets plays and i wanted it so badly and when i finally got it i was very underwhelmed, also what an era for cc
A new Lissy video ooooooooomg! I just discovered you 2 weeks ago and I've binged almost all your videos. I love your take on most things and it's so fun to watch you! I especially liked your Graveyard Keeper video since I've loved that game for a long time but haven't played in a while. It rekindled my need to play lmao Thank you for the time and effort you put in your videos, I watch them as I game and they keep me company :) Also your current hairstyle is a-m-a-z-i-n-g!! I love the short bangs, do you think you could do a little video about styling your hair? Thanks a bunch!
I played this when i was in my preteens! The fire code message always ruined my sims' lives because it is supposed to determine and limit how much you can buy and decorate in your house because of the performance limitations of the console version, but it never resets so even when you moved the fire code threshold prevented you from buying new furniture or even making a new home. It is a fatal bug :(
I loved this game when I was younger, I know every song, sound, sim, job, and activity. I knew that town like I lived there, but I always thought the glitches in my game where only experienced by me, glad to see that is wasn't. I would never in life play it again, I'm a sims 4 PC girly now.
i grew up on the sims 3 pets for ps3 and it was my FIRST sims game, it has cool extras and it has a lot of content from more than just base game and pets, weirdly. but i think you should do a playthrough of it! theres interesting lore, and cats who can laser eye ghosts!
I always thought the Sims 3 Sims themselves were so pretty, I managed to make them look amazing, loved their eyes and clothes, I don't get the complaints at all.
It's hilarious that "On Wii" sounds like "ennui"- a feeling of listlessness and dissatisfaction from a lack of excitement. It's fitting. I'm a sims 3 lover, but the lack of supportive infrastructure and all of the bugs really puts a damper on things. I played it for years with minimal issues and now it runs so poorly on windows 11 that I just play modded sims 4 instead.
PLEASE revisit for the multiplayer! It's a text adventure game for some reason and I remember it had surprisingly funny writing and I played it a lot as a kid
i love videos about old sims ports! you should totally do the sims 3 for the DS if you haven't already! if you don't have an old DS lying around, there's online emulators that are easy to find!
nothing more traumatizing when playing the sims 3 wii than watching your pregnant sim go off to the hospital to give birth expecting her to bring home a lil baby and instead she returns with a whole 8 year child who can walk right through the front door with her ❤
As a Sims 3 PS3 player, I wish the work function (where you go to work and make them do what you want them to do) was a thing on it. That would've been so cool.
Oh the memories…like many I had this before I was able to get the PC version and I’ll never forget sending my kid to school slightly hungry only for them to STARVE TO DEATH in the middle of the school day…
dude this was my childhood 😭I remember not really knowing how to play when i was younger so i always ended up just going to the beach and dancing to the songs on the stereo. Hearing some of those songs today will always make me emotional for some reason.
I played this when I was in middle school. It was my favorite game of all time except for Animal Crossing. I played it EVERY DAY after school. But looking back now as an adult, gosh the glitches were SO gosh awful. That fire code was by far the worst one out of them all. It made it unplayable for me at one point. There’s also a fridge glitch where a plate would glitch into the fridge. At that point the fridge was unusable AND unsellable. I would have to move to an entirely different lot if I wanted a new fridge. It would happen to neighboring houses too and the occupying sims would die of starvation.
I remember playing sims 3 on pc growing up, I never heard of it being on wii till I went over my friends house and he showed me this game when we were in high school. I'll never forget all the cheats and his weird builds
I loved this game, it BROKE my wii. i cheated, buying 99x fish and putting them in my fridge before selling them back, having infinite money. After I did this, my wii broke and wouldn't turn back on.
I remember playing this game for like 12 hours a day and my first husband was a grandpa while i was a young adult 😭😂 And for some reason I always made meteors fall on sims IDK WHY
This gave me some weird flashbacks. I used to sit and play this and sims 2 pets all day long and no one understood why I had so much fun. Watching this I have no clue how I had so much fun either. Fun fact: I also killed a sim on the top of that same boat house roof!
the sims 3 wii was the first sims game i played. i loooooved it lol. there was no rosebud cheat or anything like that. the way you could cheat money was by buying this certain fish and selling it for a lot more lmaoo
I owmed this when I was in elementary school! It was so cool since we also had TS2 for PS2. I remember how easily chaos could occur. My Sim caught on fire whilst cooking so I tried to have him run down to the beach right down the street and he died before he got out of the door-
This is my time to shine ! I've only ever known this game + the sims 2 on the DS so I thought for the longest time every that the Sims were always an open world game and I am still very disappointed that it is not because it was a big part of the fun for me as a child. I played countless hours on this game but had to stop a few years ago because the disk cannot be read anymore lol but typically people would do this technique that requires you to put fish in your fridge, wait a while and sell it to have infinite money so the game is actually really easy. Oh and also I was very salty about the fact we can't buy most houses because of the violation thing
I remember playing this game for many many hours, and how it felt to finally have realized how to get rich without having a job, there were goals for a sim charcter and i remember choosing a master painting goal and it gave me enough money to buy the most expensive house in the game fully furnished. but what i manily loved about the game was going into other houses and seeing what the were like, it was saddening when the sims went through the black tunnel and never came back and i always thought they were going to the next sims game It was easy to start with nothing in the game and work your way to the top since you could enter other peoples' homes if they hadn't died or gone through the tunnel yet, best sims game i had ever played
I got so excited when you said you wanted to try harvest moon!!!!! It's my favorite video game series and I'd love to see you play all the different titles!!
The only thing that I hated the most about this sims, is that you can't build anything yourself and that there's no babys or toddlers, after the sim gives birth you will get an child directly (even worse than sims 4 lmao) I also just remembered, you never knew the gender of the baby so I never had any idea what to name them xD
Sims 3 (Wii) is such a weird game. It tries to act like it's the PC game but it's clearly just Sims 2 Castaway's engine falling to be the next game in the series. I'm thinking the time limit is there to try to hide how glitchy the game is. Everyone dies before your Sim can, and if it could last more than 50 days, Vista Beach would be a coastal ghost town. If there's one thing i like about this strange game, it's the music. Some songs on the radio aren't in the PC version (as far as I know) and at least one was changed. (Saturday Night by Jessica Mauboy is missing Ludacris for some reason, who raps in the PC version.) Also, the map music is so mysterious. I'm not just talking about how it sounds, but how 90% of it doesn't play in the game; I've never heard it in the original PC game, but you can listen to the full song on this game's TCRF page.
i'll never forget bringing this home from gamestop after saving up my money, just to watch my entire town die and turn into ghosts LOL

Also that fire hazard thing is weird as hell, luckily it never happened to me
Oh my GOD Doris bursting into flames absolutely SENT ME 🤣😭
I have an insanely vivid memory of playing this as a kid, making my family and watching one of my parents burn to death while trying to cook.
When I was a child I used the fish fridge quality bug to make my sims rich whenever I got bored lol
love this references ommmggg so much memories
I did this so much after finding out about it that I forgot that they had an entire system for the jobs and to work 😂
I just remember how glitchy this game was.
It rekindled my need to play lmao
Thank you for the time and effort you put in your videos, I watch them as I game and they keep me company :)
Also your current hairstyle is a-m-a-z-i-n-g!! I love the short bangs, do you think you could do a little video about styling your hair? Thanks a bunch!
I remember in the older console Sims games, if you exceeded the fire code the house would just set on fire somewhere random.😂
absolutely loving this style of videos, these are so fun to watch!
Liss + Sims is a video I'll always click
I played this when i was in my preteens! The fire code message always ruined my sims' lives because it is supposed to determine and limit how much you can buy and decorate in your house because of the performance limitations of the console version, but it never resets so even when you moved the fire code threshold prevented you from buying new furniture or even making a new home. It is a fatal bug :(
The sims3 on wii traumatized me as a kid, my sims' kids kept getting taken away💀
Sims 3 on Wii was my first sims game ever nearly 15 years ago, it'll always hold a special place in my heart
I fell out at the Doris scene. Ohhh The Sims
I loved this game when I was younger, I know every song, sound, sim, job, and activity. I knew that town like I lived there, but I always thought the glitches in my game where only experienced by me, glad to see that is wasn't. I would never in life play it again, I'm a sims 4 PC girly now.
You can do better
i grew up on the sims 3 pets for ps3 and it was my FIRST sims game, it has cool extras and it has a lot of content from more than just base game and pets, weirdly. but i think you should do a playthrough of it! theres interesting lore, and cats who can laser eye ghosts!
Has anyone played The Sims for Nintendo DS??? literally so weird and a different game lol but nostalgic
I always thought the Sims 3 Sims themselves were so pretty, I managed to make them look amazing, loved their eyes and clothes, I don't get the complaints at all.
Sims 3 looks better than sims 4 imo
It's hilarious that "On Wii" sounds like "ennui"- a feeling of listlessness and dissatisfaction from a lack of excitement. It's fitting.
I'm a sims 3 lover, but the lack of supportive infrastructure and all of the bugs really puts a damper on things. I played it for years with minimal issues and now it runs so poorly on windows 11 that I just play modded sims 4 instead.
I mentioned that in the Sims 2 Pets video!
Oh my, just like the inside out 2 emotion
Liss I am LIVING for the sims series!!! 💗💗 another amazing videoooo!
PLEASE revisit for the multiplayer! It's a text adventure game for some reason and I remember it had surprisingly funny writing and I played it a lot as a kid
YEAH IT DID i actually loved it sm it's got many quirky outcomes
i love videos about old sims ports! you should totally do the sims 3 for the DS if you haven't already! if you don't have an old DS lying around, there's online emulators that are easy to find!
the Sims 3 for the DS was a really decent port it even had the open world aspect of the original (albeit reduced) it was still impressive nonetheless
nothing more traumatizing when playing the sims 3 wii than watching your pregnant sim go off to the hospital to give birth expecting her to bring home a lil baby and instead she returns with a whole 8 year child who can walk right through the front door with her ❤
As a Sims 3 PS3 player, I wish the work function (where you go to work and make them do what you want them to do) was a thing on it. That would've been so cool.
Oh the memories…like many I had this before I was able to get the PC version and I’ll never forget sending my kid to school slightly hungry only for them to STARVE TO DEATH in the middle of the school day…
Liss plsss keep these types of vids coming!! Your commentary is 👌👌
dude this was my childhood 😭I remember not really knowing how to play when i was younger so i always ended up just going to the beach and dancing to the songs on the stereo. Hearing some of those songs today will always make me emotional for some reason.
Sims 3 is my favorite sims game, so seeing it on such an awful port is quite a sight lmao
6:16 that speed up noise yeeted me back 17 years to the Sims 2 Castaway on ps2 thank you
I remember really liking the music that played when you zoomed out and viewed the map 😂
Ah yes. Memories of NPCs dying of hunger randomly right in front of the diner-
I can’t understand how people found the Sims 3 sims ugly. And the sims I created were beautiful.
I remember playing this game for like 12 hours a day and my first husband was a grandpa while i was a young adult 😭😂 And for some reason I always made meteors fall on sims IDK WHY
Y'all TS3 sims are not that bad, I managed to make pretty decent ones T_T
Exactly this! Im so done with the TS3 hate
This gave me some weird flashbacks. I used to sit and play this and sims 2 pets all day long and no one understood why I had so much fun. Watching this I have no clue how I had so much fun either. Fun fact: I also killed a sim on the top of that same boat house roof!
When the entire town dies and there are gravestones everywhere it gets really eerie though
the sims 3 wii was the first sims game i played. i loooooved it lol. there was no rosebud cheat or anything like that. the way you could cheat money was by buying this certain fish and selling it for a lot more lmaoo
This video is so nostalgic! I only play sims 4 but I used to play sims 3 in tbe wii
I remember having all the cheats written down like the fish money cheat plus i remember not knowing the gender of the child ya give birth to
honestly with all the death, it's weirdly appropriate that it sounds like you were playing "Sims 3 Ennui"
this game feels so liminal aha,, you're right that normal sims 3 is NOT this empty (at least for me)
Can't believe she spent her whole pregnancy carrying tons of fish around town
I owmed this when I was in elementary school! It was so cool since we also had TS2 for PS2. I remember how easily chaos could occur. My Sim caught on fire whilst cooking so I tried to have him run down to the beach right down the street and he died before he got out of the door-
"Excessively open world?" You mean the best part of the whole damn game?
i remember my sister going to the beach in the sims 3 everyday in sims game just to pick up the graves
Oh and also I was very salty about the fact we can't buy most houses because of the violation thing
and also you haven't quite fully enjoyed the game if you didn't make your garden a graveyard at the end 💀
Sadly, this still looks 100X more appealing to me than playing the sims 4, there’s no challenge in the sims 4.
Please stop lying 😂😂😂
@keanuk6171 no the sims 3 has TOO MUCH stuff.
One of my favorite UA-cam series that came up.this year. Keep posting Sims videos next year 💖
The sims in sims 3 were pretty ugly… but with cc they were beautiful… also, customization was amazing
The problem here is that the graphics are crunchy on the Wii version. Even on low graphics settings, the PC version outranks this.
I remember playing this game for many many hours, and how it felt to finally have realized how to get rich without having a job, there were goals for a sim charcter and i remember choosing a master painting goal and it gave me enough money to buy the most expensive house in the game fully furnished. but what i manily loved about the game was going into other houses and seeing what the were like, it was saddening when the sims went through the black tunnel and never came back and i always thought they were going to the next sims game
It was easy to start with nothing in the game and work your way to the top since you could enter other peoples' homes if they hadn't died or gone through the tunnel yet, best sims game i had ever played
one time i randomly died in 3 and the grim reaper came and i cried. i was like 6
All the Sims in my town constantly died for no reason
I got so excited when you said you wanted to try harvest moon!!!!! It's my favorite video game series and I'd love to see you play all the different titles!!
I got it when I was a child and I looooved this game. So much.
i played this all the time as a kid but never saw that work task screen 😲 what the hell was i doing
The only thing that I hated the most about this sims, is that you can't build anything yourself and that there's no babys or toddlers, after the sim gives birth you will get an child directly (even worse than sims 4 lmao) I also just remembered, you never knew the gender of the baby so I never had any idea what to name them xD
You don't have to use the shells, the game just really wants you to. I never used them in the like 10 years I played this game
"Without a place to put the hotdogs down, he was doomed to die of neglect" - me trying to cook in my 500 sq ft messy ass apartment
(Saturday Night by Jessica Mauboy is missing Ludacris for some reason, who raps in the PC version.)
Also, the map music is so mysterious. I'm not just talking about how it sounds, but how 90% of it doesn't play in the game; I've never heard it in the original PC game, but you can listen to the full song on this game's TCRF page.
I didn’t know the wii had the sims 3!! 😭 now I want this lol
It is shit. The 6th Gen games are better.
I knwo you said "Sims three on wii" but it sounds like "Sims 3 Ennui" which perfectly describes sims 3 on wii
