The sims 3 is so nostalgic to me and it was one of my favorite games growing up, so seeing Kevin play it is amazing and seeing the amount of chaos he brings to it is even better lmao
the sims 3 is one of my favorite games, so i'm glad kevin came back to play it again! it's a lot more fun and definitely more odd than people think it is. also, a little note for kevin: the world you picked can be laggy at times, but there are fairly easy fixes. also, the smooth patch is super helpful if you decide to play again!
For me, even the patches and fixes for it through mods the world was just unplayable it froze every 5 seconds. I think it has to do with the million Sims running around going from boat to taxi to jetski to boat all over the island, which with the sims 3 already being insanely un stable and demanding makes it ten times worse so I think his best bet is just playing on a new world
he just needs to delete the problematic households, with the Sims that get stuck in items and cause memory crashes. it'll work fine afterwards :) edit: there is a list online of the problematic households! it's mostly the ones that live on beach/water houses. you just have to delete the Sims living there, not the houses themselves. i did it on my save because it was literally unplayable, and it fixed things a LOT. it still was a bit laggy but not the full memory crashes (when animations still run but time freezes and you can't to anything, thats a memory crash because there is too many sims doing things at the same time)
The SIms 3 is definitely the best in the series. I mean. You can literally have a vampire fairy who time travels into the future and builds robots, then make those robots marry aliens and ride unicorns. All while maintaining a high level career in politics.
The best thing I've ever seen in the Sims 3 was my Sim Robert protesting against death. He gathered quite the crowd in front of town hall. Impressive, really. I laughed so hard at the absurdity. Then I heard my Sims scream in terror when he keeled over dead followed by the grim reaper showeing up pissed and yelling at Roberts corpse. He brought him back to life and I got a message like: "That's your first and final warning. Next time I won't be in such a generous mood...". Poor guy was so terrified that he ran away screaming and the crowd of sims scattered. What a game! ^^
It's so funny cause just 2 days before Kevin uploaded this video I tried that protest and I saw my sim die. I was like "wtf, I thought it wouldn't actually k!ll me unless I do it three times!" Luckily enough, the Reaper brought my sim back to life, warned me and left. And then I immediately started another protest against it lol
That is nothin. I built a house boat with a small toilet room and no showers. I knew that inventing stuff at the worktable was likely going to set my sim on fire. But I really did not have the space for a shower but only a free standing bath outdoor. Anyways. I knew that I was on a boat and was able to jump into the water. So ofc when I was set on fire I jumped into the water. My main sim STILL burning and screaming after landing in the water. XD I laugh so badly but got my sim so swim to shore and find a shower in time! Like wow. I reconfigured my boat to have a shower next to the workbench after that.
This is the level of absurdity in the Sims 3 that I lived for when playing. The craziest thing I remember offhand right now, was playing on a lot with some horses; one of them bugged out and somehow got stuck in the house's kitchen when I was looking elsewhere for a minute (although I was playing on the fastest speed and think that contributed).
@@peewee139 oh I mean everything about it. I adore it. The aesthetic is absolutely god awful and horrid but it only makes it better, sort of like the mold on camembert.
hi Kevin! the freezes and lags you experienced weren't from the graphics! it's a common bug in the Island DLC. on the island are a lot of houses with certain items that makes sims get stuck in it, which causes memory crashes the more you play it. to fix it you just have to delete all the households sims that live on beach houses and houseboats (you can find a list of the precise households online!). there are also mods to make it run smoother (i recommand the NRAAS Error trap and Overwatch, there are other recommandations in the replies to this comment).
@@Muffinatito it doesn't mean that i play base game only! i have many extensions i just dont use any mods (except to turn off those goddamn social clubs from university)
The mods to fix the problem are going to be a handful of Nraas mods specifically I believe the overwatch mod would be helpful(I'm pretty sure that's the mod that searchers for sims and pets that are stuck somewhere in the world and resets them)
@@Muffinatito I think you're confusing Sims 4 with 3. I've never felt like I had to play with mods to enjoy it. The only ones I have are cc items like clothing and hair and necessary mods to make the game run smoother like NRAAS mods. Sims 4 on the other hand...
I know this is an old(ish) comment, but I'd like to recommend smthing! there's a mod (tuning mod) on MTS for ts3 called _Reduce/Remove Lag caused by Houseboats,_ which made Isla Paradiso play sooo much better in my game! The tuning mod legit just sets the "enter helm disallow autonomous" to True (when False, NPCs can move houseboats, which causes signifigant lag). Player sims can still move houseboats!! the mod also changes the houseboat xml so that NPCs will not move ports (apparently even when they can't get to the helm, they still move ports, lol). also NRAAS' _Overwatch_ and _Error Trap_ are wonderful for my game
My favorite Sims 3 memory was when I just got Generations, a kid in one of my families got an Imaginary Friend, she was the same age as him and only he could see her or interact with her, everyone else saw a doll and she wasn't in anyone else's contacts. She was there aging up with him through his child and teen phases and he was studying logic to turn her real. The second he aged up, he made her a potion that made her real, then immediately romanced and married her, when she literally knew no one else but him in the entire world. All fully intended gameplay features and even as a kid I was like wtf this is not okay
Pfff... What the hell is this game? Didnt knew such a feature existed. Did it came with the whole supernatural pack? The way you told it kinda reminds me of Ruby Sparks, a somewhat less creppy version of it. It would make for a good story on its own as well.
@@pedrovallefin8406 it was in generations. Another cool thing about the sims 3 is that the packs were always huge. Both potions and imaginary friends came with this one pack, along with school clubs, proms, and even some stuff for the elders to do
I hated the Imaginat Friends. They got in the way, became your kid's best friend really quickly if you didn't keep an eye on them, and you couldn't sell or delete the dolls. Couldn't even put them in a locked room because they teleported.
PSA: Isla Paradiso is THE buggiest, laggiest world in the entire game. And there's basically no way to fix it. Help Me might benefit from a move to another town, which is fortunately fairly easy.
kevin choosing the most imfamous world in the sims 3 thats known to lag, crash and freeze your game for no reason is just proof that he likes torturing himself
It’s really helpful to have a genie in your household. The food they summon is automatically perfect quality and they can use their cleaning ability on anyone at any time (even if the person is doing something like sleeping or going to work). They can also magically clean any house and some buildings. Ensorcelling Sims is a great way to speed up relationship progress and banishing someone just teleports them to a random spot on the map. A good way to speed up relationship progress without a genie is a friendship potion. There’s one that increases friendship a little (Jar of Friendship) and one that increases it a lot (Jar of Potent Friendship). These potions have a chance of showing up at the elixir shop or for a more reliable way to get them, your Sim can learn to make them themselves with an alchemy station.
the end of sims 2 and the beginning of sims 3 were what I grew up with, so seeing you enjoy 3 is really nice. it was probably the weirdest of the series.
This is my favorite one out of the series. I was a hardcore TS2 player since ‘04 but I really gave TS3 a chance after hating 4. I’m still playing it. The game is so complex and detailed 😢 I love it
Kevin, its not because of the graphics that your game is lagging! It's this particular world. Since its release, it has problems with lagging that are difficult to repair. If you want to play sims 3 again, I recommend a different world. Literally any different world, none of the other ones have this problem. Or you can look up online on how to repair this bug

That sim got a "nicely decorated" happy moodlet every time she entered the house. Still proud of that. Good times
I love Sims 3's open world for all the absurd scenes you can spot somewhere by coincidence. For example some NPC crossing a frozen lake all through the night with slow and careful steps instead of taking a cab to get to the other side within a couple of minutes. And then she collapsed from exhaustion after reaching the other shore. Admittedly I hoped the ice would melt halfway. 😆 Or once I had a family dad die by fire, the wife got him back as a ghost. They had some ghost babies, the eldest became a policeman. When he went to work you could see his colleagues pass out at the sight of him. Whenever I saw people dropping somewhere afar I knew that's where my son was.

Kevin pronouncing Persephone as purse-a-phone will stick with me for a while
don’t forget mateo pronounced matt-ee-oh lol
Adding him pronouncing Faiz as phase to that

Purse... Eff... Uh... Knee! Persephone!

10:20 this whole unicorn scene is looking like a fever dream, I love it.
Edit : this whole episode is looking like a fever dream, and I love it.
Edit2 : No. You know what ? This whole channel is looking like a fever dream that we weirdly don’t want to wake up from, that’s my last word. And I definitely still love it.
Thanks for keeping people enjoying the sims 2 and 3, you're the best
@Willy on Wheels bot
The sims 3 is so nostalgic to me and it was one of my favorite games growing up, so seeing Kevin play it is amazing and seeing the amount of chaos he brings to it is even better lmao
the sims 3 is one of my favorite games, so i'm glad kevin came back to play it again! it's a lot more fun and definitely more odd than people think it is.
also, a little note for kevin: the world you picked can be laggy at times, but there are fairly easy fixes. also, the smooth patch is super helpful if you decide to play again!
kevin do this
For me, even the patches and fixes for it through mods the world was just unplayable it froze every 5 seconds. I think it has to do with the million Sims running around going from boat to taxi to jetski to boat all over the island, which with the sims 3 already being insanely un stable and demanding makes it ten times worse so I think his best bet is just playing on a new world
@@senorMckenzie the patches/fixes from EA or the community?
@@VultureSkins the community patches
he just needs to delete the problematic households, with the Sims that get stuck in items and cause memory crashes. it'll work fine afterwards :)
edit: there is a list online of the problematic households! it's mostly the ones that live on beach/water houses. you just have to delete the Sims living there, not the houses themselves.
i did it on my save because it was literally unplayable, and it fixed things a LOT. it still was a bit laggy but not the full memory crashes (when animations still run but time freezes and you can't to anything, thats a memory crash because there is too many sims doing things at the same time)
The SIms 3 is definitely the best in the series.
Oh my god, I didn't know that could happen! Now imma go start a protest against death lmao
That's hilarious lol :P
This is the level of absurdity in the Sims 3 that I lived for when playing. The craziest thing I remember offhand right now, was playing on a lot with some horses; one of them bugged out and somehow got stuck in the house's kitchen when I was looking elsewhere for a minute (although I was playing on the fastest speed and think that contributed).

Nice
I love the weird mix of realism and cartoon aesthetics in this game.
same! it didn’t age that well and i love it
@@peewee139 what are you talking about the Sims 3 aged like a fine cheese
This game is a perfect time capsule to late 2000's and early 2010's. The Sims 4 failed to achive this by bloating the game with filler expansions.
@@kevinthefabulous1118 im not talking about the game im talking about the aesthetic. but if you are too then lol
You only play vanilla sims? Don't you ever run out of things to do? That's the problem I've been having with the Sims at least
Someone needs to make a comp of Kevin saying names incorrectly, "PURSE-UH-PHONE" is taking me out 😭
PSA: Isla Paradiso is THE buggiest, laggiest world in the entire game.
My entire body tensed up when I saw which world he picked to play in. Rip Kevin's computer
only kevin would choose the most glitched world without knowing
Im consistently startled by the inexplicably detailed editing of Kevin's videos these days
Kevin, the first series I ever watched was you playing sims 3 on your other channel! I was THERE when Jim Pickens was born! I was THERE!
the end of sims 2 and the beginning of sims 3 were what I grew up with, so seeing you enjoy 3 is really nice. it was probably the weirdest of the series.
I knew this video was going to be great from the moment Kevin picked one of the most notoriously broken, laggy and buggy worlds in The Sims 3.
I love how Kevin somehow managed to pick the most broken world to play in, the one that constantly lags and crashes 😂😂
I mean for some reason it's the first option when picking a world I believe, he may have just gone with it to get started quicker
Help Me is a great addition to the Kevin Simematic Universe, I can't wait for him to magically clean the rest of the group
Or you can look up online on how to repair this bug
idk I feel like it compliments his personality perfectly
@@MyNameHere101 yeah but the game lagging so hard will make him impatient and not want to play tbh it can get pretty unplayable in this game (and saves easily corrupt too if there aren't mods to clean it out which is very frustrating)
@@Queerlien Yeah that's true. A good first experience means he'll keep coming back, and there's a lot of potential for him here.
@@Queerlien It's hilarious to me that like 1/3 of the Sims modding community is just people fixing the game
@@MyNameHere101 Honestly and that goes for all the games. The least broken one is probably the first game, but it's not nearly as complicated as the later ones. It's a shame EA leaves them in the state they do, but I am so grateful we have such amazing communities that fix them.
Kevin and the sims are the best combo. I can’t get enough. There’s never enough sims Kevin! Keep ‘em coming

Kevin is a gift to us all really. He’s my emotional support UA-camr lol
My favorite thing in Sims 3 was that I started a couple of max-slider faced parents and saw how wild their descendants could look as I kept pairing them up with also max-slider faced partners.
What were the results 😂
@@Bananachan289 to be expected: a whole lineage of Sims with bizarre facial features like Help Me. The game eventually grew too big for my computer to run, but man I miss that mess.
Just in case you play this again (which I'd love to see since ts3 is my main sims game), hopefully you'll see! That map has a few errors that cause lag spikes, but there is a fan-made fix online - That might help with the lag issues you're having :]
yeah i was abt to comment abt this too, isla paradiso is the worst map in the game for lag sadly... also for anyone reading this (kevin included!) the lag fixes i use which work really well are nraas error trap and overwatch mods, as well as the smooth patch by lazy duchess x

This mod makes the game’s logic threads run faster, speeding up loading of Buy/Build and CASt, smoother UI elements, smoother CAS. Can also speed up live mode and loading, it’s essentially a general improvement.

Can confirm my two year old and I wave and say hi and bye to you all the time. It's INCREDIBLY cute when one of us does it
ah, the sims 3. the first real sims game i got to play since my Aunt and Uncle had it on their computer. NGL I still think of it often; I made a real pretty buff girl with neon pink hair and then actually gave building the home myself a try.
Or once I had a family dad die by fire, the wife got him back as a ghost. They had some ghost babies, the eldest became a policeman. When he went to work you could see his colleagues pass out at the sight of him. Whenever I saw people dropping somewhere afar I knew that's where my son was.
Kevin making an abomination in the first 3 minutes is quite fitting for the Sims 3 experience
There is sooo much to explore in the sims 3. Like as much as Kevin gets out of the other sims games, I think the sims 3 is a perfect match for his chaos lol
This video gave me so much nostalgia. I use to play the sims 3 all the time as a kid. Love this type of chaotic content.
Nothing will ever be scarier than the Sims 3 emotion icons, like seriously, I don't know who gave the designer permission to put so much uncanny realism onto smiley faces
I used to love waking up the household with the loud radio. Mixed with the obnoxious dancing and the annoyed Sims, it was hilarious. 😂
Sims 3 and Kevin share a motto: never let ‘em know your next move
This just makes me realize how strict sims 4 is 😅😬
Usually all your sims videos are wild but the game in general is so wild that you don’t even have to do anything 😂
Genies were one of the best life states to play in this game. I used to just enscroll other sims and then sell all their belongings. Ended up making millions.

I haven't laughed so hard in a while. Kevin playing more Sims 3 is a 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙 (although I know how laggy and unplayable it gets).
The second time I played the sims 3 glitched out and never let me play again

This is what I need in my life, a way to watch someone play the sims 3 so I can avoid all the frustrating loading screens and bugs
I legitimately could not stop laughing for the entire length of this video it was so good. I been playing Sims 3 since it came out when I was about 6 and this definitely matched that childhood energy I been trying to recreate while playing...the only difference was me and my brother typically would play by making every one in town leave their husbands for us and then murder them for cheating and reset the game after emptying the town...we called it total drama island for some reason

@@sunny-lm2np it's the absurdity of it. No, rape isn't funny, but why does he use his powers to make other people kiss him, when he doesn't actually want to be kissed by them? It doesn't make sense and that's what makes this situation absurd and funny.

“It’s still laggy” You did chose one of the worlds that are most likely to cause lag AND you have all the packs installed, so that gotta be a drain too. Honestly, it’s amazing that Maxis somehow managed to make a game, that warns you if you’ve too many packs installed, cuz it knows it can kill computers. Maybe one day, in 20 years time, there’ll be a computer that can handle a Sims 3 game with all the packs installed on medium settings?
