@@iamkomorebi Ever look at the face of a happy Sim in Sims 4? They look like they are on way too many drugs. Have a really happy sim do something they like doing like painting and they will have an ear to ear grin the whole time, Sims 1-3 and they will lose the grin and have the "I am working on this" face normal humans do, as in not overjoyed lunatic smile. Happy Sim watching TV in Sims 3 it is resting face with occasional grins and laughs, Sims 4 it is more Lunatic grins abound. I wouldn't point at the cages when the humans in the game are way too happy when happy and if something goes slightly wrong they turn into Mr. Droopy McDroop the melting sim. It's not the cages but Maxis, they could have had the rodents in Sims 1 singing "Having the time of our lives" song from the movie Dirty Dancing in squeaks and doing solo dancing in the cage. Point is Maxis chose to overdo emotion in Sims 4 until it was extremely overdone. It isn't the cage but the developers choice to make a very happy rodent alongside other overdone emotions. *Edit, not even Maxis, EA killed Maxis before Sims 4 was even done and it's zombie corpse finished the game to EA's desire.
Honestly the animations in Sims 4 and the experiments they do in the cage were super cute, but the winner for me is Sims 3, without a doubt. The liberty of finding wild rodents and having them as your pets is fun as hell. There's also the collection panel which lets you see which animals you've already encountered (if my memory serves me, been a while since I played it). But I'd say: Sims 3 - 4 - 2 -1
Yeah the death was cool in 4 but the collection system in 3 was amazing and so fun. They have collection in 4 but half the time they forget to put in spawners, you can't put in spawners easily yourself like in 3, and the plant system has been broken forever (waiting on the lot until morning is not a solution). No wonder they still haven't put in a collectible map reward
In the Sims 4 they added this capture feature but for bugs in different pack and small rodents and birds in another pack. That’s what I hate about the sims 4 though… all of that should be together.
I used to bring my guinea pig down to the den when I was a kid and if I was playing Sims 2 with a family who had a guinea pig and if the Sims one would squeak, my guinea pig would squeak back.
Indeed! They also make guinee pig sounds but they have the size and behave like a hamster. I think it's funny, they combined the best qualities of both animals, the cuteness overload of guinee pigs and the playfulness of hamsters :)

It's sims 3 for me. I had a werewolf sim who ended up catching a wild rodent (I think it was a squirrel) home for his son. That son brought his friend everywhere. Being able to find pets just did wonders for sims who want rescues, collect insect, practicing hunting, or they're a scientist collecting data before releasing them. I also tend to build a pet store with small pets, next to a pet friendly cafe or park too, so all of animal lover sims have a spot to hangout in. I had a sim dog that liked to bark at his owner's snake friend. I love how large the enclosures are! I just wish TS3 had an autofill for community lot enclosures, so my sims won't have to catch or buy small pets for community lots.
Sims 2 is a weird mix of guinea pigs and hamsters. They squeak which hamsters don't, run on a wheel which guinea pigs don't and their shape is closer to a guinea pig

What in the "Perry the platypus" is going on with the Sims 4 rodents? Lmao. Partying? Inventing rocket ships? Going on vacations? Their everyday life's so eventful 😂
I'd have liked to see a combination of bits of 2, 3 and 4 in a pack. I'm surprised that the controversial 1st pets pack has so much going for it, I love what the depth small pets brought to sims 3, and I'm here for the drama of sims 2. Just combine all 3 and it'll be perfection. edit: the way that fever shows up in sims 1 is really interesting too. I paused before seeing that but now I want a combo of all 4 games to make small pets worthwhile.
I actually didn't know that they brought back the ginny pig's bite of death to The Sims 4, and that it has it's own death animation, the ghost and all that. It's pretty cool. That's why I think The Sims 4 has it's best... surprisingly
I remember being so confused why my Sim was coughing!! Very happy the designers let bed rest be a very slow fix before we started seeking guides and FAQs. This was back when hey realism you can make a Sim household but they don't automatically like each other too. Can't believe the Sims 4 hamster rodent adventures too!
Sims 2 is a weird mix of guinea pigs and hamsters. They squeak which hamsters don't, run on a wheel which guinea pigs don't and their shape is closer to a guinea pig
Dude seeing them forced into a way too small cage then see them try to escape(showing that they actually do not like it there) breaks my heart :( I would probably not be able to keep them int his game Also in SIMS4 they have the best animation, cage and activities but i legit do not like how the model itself looks. It looks like that they are evil like what the Hell? XD
The Sims 4 death is grim 👀 it was truly shocking when I first saw it. Funny how one of the most gruesome ways to die is a rodent, lol. Love that they included consequences for neglect. It's terrible how small the 1 and 2 cages are, especially in 2 when compared to the animal itself, that's a transport carrier, not a living habitat. But it's good to see how in 3 and especially 4 it's much better, even if it's still quite bare, and the nod to changing the substrate. Shows a better societal understanding of a more adequate standard of keeping these often neglected animals.
I'd say 3 had the best cage. 4 might be big but it's really not that good, plastic tunnels are proven to be dangerous to hamsters and especially not recommended for hedgehogs and also they are on a wire mesh instead of substrate which is terrible for hamsters.
@@Jhud69 Yes, mesh isn't great, but I put 4 above 3 because at least it's got _some_ enrichment, 3 is just bare bones. Us arguing which one is better is kind of a losing battle since neither is great, we're both wishing we had better terrariums.
@@Jhud69 I was surprised to see that they walk on a wire mesh BUT the sims clean the substrate that is UNDER the wire mesh. I think it might be a design choice to not make the animation so complicated, but I mean... even if it was like this, it still won't mean that you also doesn't have to clean the wire mesh as well xD
I love the ability to put fish that you catch into fish tanks in the sims 4, but you cant do anything with them except have it as a artifact for a legacy challenge and the fact that you can collect rodents and put them in a terrarium in the sims 3 is defo my cup of tea and makes me wish I didn’t just have base game sims 3
Love these animals to pieces, but I don't think ill ever stop feeling bad for how terrible those cages are 😭😭give them some more room, you are in a mansion for gods sake you can afford an IKEA bin 💀
I wonder if the ‘tiny hamster, big adventures’ in sims 4 is a reference to the anime Hamtaro ? The English tagline of that show is Hamtaro: Little hamsters, big adventures!
Wow, for once there's actually consistent improvement on the game concept. I'd say TS4 wins overall for the gameplay, but TS3 has the most diversity of rodents. Somebody in EA must really like rodents.
Somehow it amazes me how in TS1 they thought of the passing of the rodent bite sickness if you’re in contact with other people. I mean they don’t have to do that considering how old the game development and tech back then but they did it. That was awesome
I have a fear of dead animals--especially ones in cages. However, I never had one in Sims 1, I was scared to keep them for longer than a couple days in Sims 2, since we had horses in Sims 3, I didn't have them, and in Sims 4, I haven't tried them because of the fear of death thing, but now I want to because they can go to Paris. I want to ask EA why the rodents get to go more places than the Sims (ahem). I wonder if they go to Bantuu?
content-wise the sims4 wins this one but that's what i expect for having to pay extra to get some rodents. i love the sims 4 but it's so frustrating how much you need to pay for :')

True, guinea pigs and hamsters are very different. Rabbits and guinea pigs have nothing in common though, rabbits aren't even rodents.
@@LeelErine That is true, I just meant in terms of what they eat (hay and vegetables) and their basic needs. They are of course very different animals. 😊
Sims 1 guinea was for free on official site and later added with expansion pack.
I think in the Sims 2 they can die from fright too. If other animals, especially cats stare at them for a long time, they can drop dead from being so scared.
I loved the little presentation RP did to the pets in TS4 and then goes like: "AND BABULUS THE.... thing..."
fun fact: hedgehogs are not rodents (but porcupines are)
What in the "Perry the platypus" is going on with the Sims 4 rodents? Lmao. Partying? Inventing rocket ships? Going on vacations? Their everyday life's so eventful 😂
A bit of an anticlimactic good bye, the pet just fades away 3:12
Normal sims 4 packs: You only need the main game to buy us
My first pet stuff: Hello. I like money
I'm giving to 4, because of the most unique death and the rodents have more personality.
Sims 2 hamster little squeak is soooo cute!
2:00
I'd have liked to see a combination of bits of 2, 3 and 4 in a pack. I'm surprised that the controversial 1st pets pack has so much going for it, I love what the depth small pets brought to sims 3, and I'm here for the drama of sims 2. Just combine all 3 and it'll be perfection.
edit: the way that fever shows up in sims 1 is really interesting too. I paused before seeing that but now I want a combo of all 4 games to make small pets worthwhile.
The Sims created a unique hybrid of a hamster, guinea pig and a fish
8:25 It sounds a bit mess up that you can make your pets dumber with food.
I wish there was an option to stock more than one
Same! I actually tried in Sims 3 because if you can carry many in the inventory then you'd think you could stock many, but nope, maybe Sims 5?
@@TheRedPlumbob in ten years? I’d hope so
I know for rl hamsters can't live together so maybe sims team knew that? And didn't want kids to think it's fine for rl?
Well hamsters are solitairy animals, but some of the others are social and should be in pairs or groups
I actually didn't know that they brought back the ginny pig's bite of death to The Sims 4, and that it has it's own death animation, the ghost and all that. It's pretty cool. That's why I think The Sims 4 has it's best... surprisingly
I just realized that the "hamsters" in the Sim universe aren't even hamsters! They're freaking guinea pigs!! 🤣🤣
i like how the sims 4 looks , but i liked how i could catch one in the wild in sims 3
Sims 3 was so superior gameplay wise
and so lacking performance optimization wise
@@dercfts1This
I never noticed you can place the postcards at the cage. :D
I do like the sims 4 hamsters with their atomic disco parties and other craziness.
Sims dying on Sims 1 for handling to much the Guinea pig was really something.
I’m sorry but when the sims 1 hamster just suddenly went on it’s back like that I cracked up
THE LITTLE PIXEL JUST SPAWNING BACKWARDS
I remember being so confused why my Sim was coughing!! Very happy the designers let bed rest be a very slow fix before we started seeking guides and FAQs. This was back when hey realism you can make a Sim household but they don't automatically like each other too. Can't believe the Sims 4 hamster rodent adventures too!
Omg i knew it!! It was the hamster that kept making my sim sick in sims 1
This has to be one of the extremely few things that TS4 got right: the rodents.
Bruh the death in Sims 4 had me ☠️
2 and 3 got the best and most accurate cutest looking hamsters i've ever seen! ❤️😍😍 Soo adorablee
Sims 2 is a weird mix of guinea pigs and hamsters. They squeak which hamsters don't, run on a wheel which guinea pigs don't and their shape is closer to a guinea pig
@@afairyist9981 Ik i'm just clearly saying myself that both of them got the best looking hamsters in those two games only
The moment when you realize that the hamsters from a game released in 2004 look more realistic than the ones from a game released in 2014
Dude, it's 2023...if Sims 4 doesn't end before september 2024 it'll be the first game to last 10 years and it's the least deserving!! 😫
don't you just hate it when your hamster evolves so quickly within 3 days that it takes over your home and soon after that the entire world
yeah.
The unusual activities of the hamster in the Sims 4 are hilarious.
a little confusing, the cage uses a hamster cage, the behavior is like a hamster but the animation is a guinea pig
The death by guinnea pig in Sims was so creeppy...
The sims 2 hamster had me in tears why are they so cute?
This is so cute
Hahah hamster costume ghosts are hilarious lol. Thanks for another video! :D
Dude seeing them forced into a way too small cage then see them try to escape(showing that they actually do not like it there) breaks my heart :(
I would probably not be able to keep them int his game
Also in SIMS4 they have the best animation, cage and activities but i legit do not like how the model itself looks. It looks like that they are evil like what the Hell? XD
7:28 - Might a nod to the Fallout franchise ☢
I think it might be a design choice to not make the animation so complicated, but I mean... even if it was like this, it still won't mean that you also doesn't have to clean the wire mesh as well xD
i hate how triggered i am by them calling them hamsters but they are obviously modelled off guinea pigs 😭
I had to pick a name and guinea pigs is too long for my taste lol I may have to give up and change it eventually.
oh i didn’t even mean you! i totally meant them 😂
I love the ability to put fish that you catch into fish tanks in the sims 4, but you cant do anything with them except have it as a artifact for a legacy challenge and the fact that you can collect rodents and put them in a terrarium in the sims 3 is defo my cup of tea and makes me wish I didn’t just have base game sims 3
The Sims 3 looks more realistic!
Love these animals to pieces, but I don't think ill ever stop feeling bad for how terrible those cages are 😭😭give them some more room, you are in a mansion for gods sake you can afford an IKEA bin 💀
I am mostly impressed by the enclosures in Sims 3 - considering that its the best option for hamsters in real life
Rabid Rodent Fever is the closest thing to have Rabies in the Sims world
Sims 4 rodents are just... so extra 😆
See I absolutely loved the sims 3 because of all the wild pets you could collect!
Btw for the cage for the hamsters for sims4 u need to buy the cats and dogs pack for it!
The hamster in the Sims 1 got my sister's entire family sick and they eventually all died
You can't tell me the Rodent Fever wasn't covid predicted by the Sims
10:29 change the world. My final message. Goodbye.
10:31 Hamster just vanished😂
I wonder if the ‘tiny hamster, big adventures’ in sims 4 is a reference to the anime Hamtaro ? The English tagline of that show is Hamtaro: Little hamsters, big adventures!
For Sims 4 players I highly recommend Kalino’s more small pets mod. It uses skins from TS3 and actually looks pretty good.
I’ve been playing the sims since 2000😂 this was a well made video 👏🏼 I completely forgot about hamsters!!
Let's all admit it, if Livin' Large didn't exist we wouldn't have SO MANY features missing in the other Sims games.
Muita fofurice em um vídeo só, ver a evolução deles é encantador, amo esses bichinhos ! ♥️🥰
Whenever i see a Sims 4 video it makes me want to play it again and when i launch the game i remember why i stopped playing.
Wow, for once there's actually consistent improvement on the game concept. I'd say TS4 wins overall for the gameplay, but TS3 has the most diversity of rodents. Somebody in EA must really like rodents.
if only Sims 4 hamsters weren't *basically locked behind an expansion pack*
Sims 2 hands down the cutest..and the most miserable 😔
Seems odd that a guinea pig has a wheel to run in
Somehow it amazes me how in TS1 they thought of the passing of the rodent bite sickness if you’re in contact with other people. I mean they don’t have to do that considering how old the game development and tech back then but they did it. That was awesome
And considering it was a tiny feature in a game full of other stuff
8:05 There were no WMDs🗿🗿
love how everyone is calling it a hamster when it clearly looks and sounds like a guinea pig
"If you see this sign it means they're on vacation"
Me: THEY GO ON VACATIONS!???? 😭😭😭
