@@MrSh31by at least you have Bluetooth at all. My w211 e55 doesn’t have bluetooth from factory but at least I have an aux port.. only problem is my phone doesn’t have a headphone jack

I have this same car in a darker grey colour with the Performance Pack Plus option and it's awesome to drive !! the only thing I don't like is that awful 3 mode gear selector !, It would have been really great if they had just made it the same as the C63 AMG of the same era (with a normal gear selector), as I keep putting it in reverse thinking its in P ! when in this E63 you have to put it in N and then press the P button to put it in Park.
@@maccleba6721 Is your a W212 car an e63 ?...The older previous model W211 E63 selector was great ! (normal), This one in the W212 E63 is not so great, as it only gives 3 modes and you have to put it in "N" and then press the "P" button to put the car in park when you stop. Given the choice I would have gone for a W204 C63 estate which has the normal gear selector !
@@maccleba6721 That's the same year as mine !, If its the W212 E63 (The boxy one) you will see that it has a 3 mode selector on the center console with D | N | R with a separate P button (switch) further forward after the selector lever. The dealer where I bought it from back in July 2021 told me that you must always put this car in "N" (with your foot on the brake peddle) and then press the "P" button to engage "Park" .
Before I got my E63 I looked at a 2014 w204 C63 estate in red, It was pretty cool with only 28,000 miles on the clock and it had a normal style gear selector ! but sadly I could not afford to buy it, so went for a cheaper alternative which was a 2010 w212 E63 in dark grey with 54,000 miles. Other issues I've been having is a leaking roof and windscreen, I have the full panoramic sunroof and it's now a nightmare with leaks everywhere ! due to blocked drains - Its too cold now to deal with it so I've thrown a car cover over it to block the rain and snow during this winter as its pretty bad now here in the UK. Glad you've managed to add another 100 hp to yours ! - Did you have it tuned or had it supercharged ? ! Best Wishes, Joseph 🙂
@@maccleba6721 New Zealand is a fab part of the world and like Australia you're having your summer when we here in England are having our winter ! (a very cold one with snow and ice this year December 2022).
Back to the cars, You also have the dark grey too ! which apparently is one of the rarest colours as most of them are either silver, black or white !, Like you I also love this car and believe is is the best car I've ever owned after a 2009 w219 light silver CLS63 which also had the M156 engine tuned to 507hp stock, the w212 E63 feels more sporty and handles much better and has no rust !, my old CLS 63 had rust everywhere, the arches, the subframe were terrible ! Your E63 sounds amazing with the extra work you've done to your M156 to increase the power from the standard 518hp to 100hp more ! without forced induction, also the head bolts is a great move, as mine loses coolant regularly and I worry about the condition of the head bolts, but I'm not so brave as you ! to take my M156 apart yet ! lol
The leaky roof was not what I was expecting !, certainly not on a car of this class, but I guess it was the designers fault for the way the drainage system on these cars is designed, as I've read a lot of horror stories online from the folks in America also having leaky roofs in their W212's ! - Either I will sort it out or if I can't (because I can't access the tubes behind the dash if the leak is coming from that area), then I'll just seal up all the gaps in the roof with black exterior silicone sealant and just have a sunroof in the name only !, as I don't use it much anyway...

Well the older AMG automatics are slow on upshifts. It's better to just keep it in sport or sport+ and let the car do the shifting. Small trade off for great everyday comfort :)
At least it's a faster shift than the Lamborghini aventador, stop complaining. For a single clutch transmission it shifts fast as hell, especially in automatic, it shift as fast as a dull clutch
Its absolutely perfect for the engine! I had a RS5 B8 with the Dual Clutch which is the fastest shifting gearbox that has been built between 2008-2016. It was also used in Porsches.
Its way too agressive, has a SHITTON of problems (every gearbox is done after 80.000km). And is just absolutely useless in Sports mode.
The MB Gearbox used in the CL/E/C/S/CLS/SL 63 is just perfect. It kicks down really agressive but is a smooth and good feeling cruiser. You won't miss that dual clutch at all, im even glad that i lost it. It was the least favorite thing on my rs5, everything else was okay.
