Oh man. This 6.3l was such a beast back then and the sound is just amazing.
Actually most W212 AMG models have 5.5l only, only the models before 2011 have 6,208l

@@tomdornieden4053 Yes, you're right. The W212 AMG from 2011 actually has the same engine as the big facelifted W212 (The M157), but first it only had 525 hp, then 557 hp and later on even 585 hp. The reason why the facelift is much faster than the old model is the 4wd too, but the engine is the same. The W213 now has a new 4l

Old 6.3L was a brutal-looking and driving machine. It sounded like a devil himself, and it was a perfect show-off machine. It's a Lamborghini Murcielago of super-sedans.
New E63S is more of a wolf in sheeps clothing. It's a more civilized and less show-off-y car than the old E63. But it's still stupid fast and outrageously fun.
New E63S is a better all-rounder in my opinion, and it's the one I'd buy. But, in terms of noise and visual drama, I prefer the old one.

Marcel Lukačić why do you compare a V8 AMG with a V12 Lambo. The RS6 and M5 E60 were much more brutal than this thing.

Pahahahhahaahahha😂😂 Back in 2010, when 6.3L E63 and E60 M5 were on the market, Audi RS6 had a heavy twin-turbo V10, miles of understeer and as much weight as a mountain. That's brutal to you? E60 M5 was brutal, I think it's the best super-sedan ever built and the best M5 ever built. And why would I compare a 6.3L E63 to a Murcielago? Because AMGs with massive engines remind me of Lamborghinis. Muscular looks, outrageously loud noise, tons of horsepower and drama. New AMGs aren't so show-off-y. They are more of a wolf in sheeps clothing. Hope you get my point. Have a nice day.😉
New E63 S is basically a more humbled and silent version of the 6.3 EY3
W212 E63 is my favourite one ever. Modern style body but with the old M156. Perfect. Hope to own one.

I didn't realise that the engine figures had improved so drastically, that's crazy! Prefer the sound of the 6.2L though...

The new one might be embarrasingly faster with a world's better interior, but the older E63 is just SO much meaner looking and brutal sounding.
W212 with 600hp. My true love.. Will always cherish this older model.. Best car ever owned!

No way. It was the W211. The W212 aged way too quickly. It looked old even a year after launch. It looks a bit better now to me strangely. But W211 is the best. Now that aged so well.
@@SDav21 Yea agreed- I had the W212 facelift but pre-facelift is way too dated, now i have a W211 E550 and its old looking but that sort of classic ageless look
SDav21 the w212 looks exactly the same as in the video (we have one) so I think you’re confusing it with another.
Pre LCI is ugly as hell! LCI w212 is one of the most beautiful Merc of last years! I’m BMW fan btw

Dude this is the pre-5.5L BiTurbo. Get your facts right. Also look at the Tac, it says 6.3-V8 even though its a 6.2L.

Think of what the power ouput would be if they improved the original 6.2 litre and put biturbo on it, instead of downsizing to 4.0.

7 years isnt very old for car years mate, dont mistake cars with technology, just 10 years ago a single car model would last 8 years, let alone the 90's when they would casually go over a decade without changing the model
It's not "very old". It's actually still very new. The facelifted version of the W212 pretty much has everything that a modern luxury sedan needs, and the design is still relevant.

Can you do w211 e63 ?
The first one is slower off the mark then gathers speed, the second blasts off. The first would have been rwd so makes for a slow start, also power was up but torque down on the earlier supercharged model and higher in the rev range. The sound is certainly different, a low slow thunder versus an angry next of hornets.
What year is the old E63 ?
The only car merc has ruined is the cls. The new generation gives me a tummy bug. I prefer the previous generation

The old E63 with the 6.2 M156 engine may not be the fastest E63 but it is sure the BEST looking and sounding E63.... as the newer faster E63 does not have that great sound that the M156 makes and it looks like a Hyundai !!! - No thanks. 👎 ....I'll happily take the old E63 with that fabulous sounding N/A M156 engine 👍👍👍

Okay, the 4.0 is faster, but nothing sounds better than the amazing 6.2, and i think the 6.2 also looks better because it doesn't stand out that much.

The newer one has 100hp more and more torq being more factory tuned than the older one wich in my opinion was a bit undertuned... that eargasmical 6.3 v8 should be making more like 580/590hp instead.

W212 looks better i think and the 6.2 V8 N/A is amazing i think.And its sounds better i think.

A lot of people remove the keyless go button and just use the key. I don’t know why, but I see used keyless go equipped benz’s with the button not in the slot. It’s like a $12 part from Mercedes so I don’t think the dealers are stealing them and selling em online either like they do the Bluetooth pucks. Plus keyless go is pretty reliable. My 07’ W221 S550 has keyless go and it still works perfectly. One of my fave features of the car.
