- I have FINALLY made a list of my favorite raids in Destiny. The way that I have ranked them is as follows: I pretended someone asked me if I wanted to raid, I say "which raid," they tell me which raid and then I react accordingly. That is the only criteria. Not loot, not mechanics, not exotics, just how much I would want to run the raid at this particular moment in time. Let's begin.

Beating Oryx for the first time and watching his decaying husk of a corpse float off in to space after everything you fought through to get there will forever be one of my favourite moments in gaming of all time

Yeah I remember it was like 4 AM and we finally beat him, I had to stay quiet because of family sleeping but my mates starting yelling stuff like "OMG FUCK YOU ORYX" and "LOOK AT HIS BODY FLOATING" and "I LOVE YOU GUYS SO MUCH" and then suddenly realizing they shouldn't be making loud noises. Good times.
Same. The memories on Taken King are moments I’ll tell my kids about someday.

I really don’t know if they can ever top that for a “final boss”…Calus was cool, and Savathun makes sense but the sheer atmospheric volume of his size and health vs you and other tiny creatures was incredibly satisfying
I love the feeling of kings fall the most as it feels like one of the few times we as characters in destiny got to take the fight to the enemy in meaningful way. Board enemy ship kill boss's goons then kill the big bad himself and watch him drift into space. Nothing tops that imo

D1 raids were my fave. Wrath and Kings Fall were my top two. I like DSC and Last Wish too, but D1 just had awesome mechanics to their raids
Ye how the campaign sets you up for the raid is also a plus
I love kings fall, I would finish all three of my characters for the week and just help people on lfg. I love the scenery and mechanics of it with oryx being my favorite villain of D1

Yo im in the same boat man. I used to sherpa Kings Fall all the time and was once upon a time really fun for me to teach a band of newbies on how to do a raid. It may not be the "best" but in my opinion it is. I love you kings fall and cant wait to have it remastered after which queen ;)

Dude the thing i love about kings fall is the fact that every class could do something different on each encounter and it was so cool because it meant that when you ran it multiple times a week you were always mixing it up. Taking oryx for example, if your a titan you get to bubble middle and deal with lighteater ogres, if your a hunter you get to quiver/predator tether ogres or if your third hunter you gett to Nighthawk/sleeper combo the shade so no one can die in shade room, if your warlock you get to do plate three and deal with knight 4 and even if you die to ship you just res yourself and if you didnt die you can burn your res in shade room to soak the hit so no one dies if they get TP'd in at the wrong time. Having different purposes for classes on a fight by fight basis is a cool thing. Now it usually just boils down to one to two wells and your set for ideal comps.
Mine will always be King’s Fall, nothing made me truly feel like “a god slayer” than that raid, incredible throughout.
How would you change it if it came back? I really wanna see it as a good one but it’s just no fun for me. Really wanna like it, but as it stands… would be interesting to see it in D2

Give it the VoG treatment. Leave it mostly alone but make some of the longer encounters (like holding the plates) shorter. Also rework some less interesting bosses like Golgoroth to be a little more involved and less easy to cheese. Make Oryx 2 or 3 bomb cycles instead of 4 because god damn does that fight drag on. Otherwise just keep it the same, I think if was *mostly* fine as is.
100% agree, such an epic experience and I love that it continued from the campaign. Felt like a true raid experience in the same vein as the icecrown citadel from WoW.
Deep Stone Crypt is always a raid that I will run whenever. Even though it's pretty easy (please give us a master mode bungie), the setting, the music, the story, and the encounters are all fantastic. It makes for a very laid back experience as 6, and a much more intense one if I'm 3 manning it. I also really love the fact that if your team is good, you can make the final boss go faster than the normally intended mechanic by just doing the challenge every time. I hope to see future encounters do something like this.
Deep stone is second only to Kings Fall for my favorite raids. As you said, everything is fantastic and the third encounter might be my favorite raid encounter ever. Watching the whole space station on a crash course to europa with the area getting incredibly more intense with the music, fire, ad density just makes it feel really epic to me

taniks as the final boss ruined the raid for me... easily woulda been top 3 for me if the last boss wasnt taniks on a shank.
I did say one DSC and I gotta say it was the best way to run it, now everything just kinda falls over without much effort put in for my group of guys
If this raid gets a master mode it will be perfect
Wrath of the Machine is hands down my favorite raid in terms of sheer fun. It's beautiful, action packed, and so explosive! Such a fantastic raid to cap off D1

Only raid I miss from d1 tbh,kings fall was cool but I have a lot of memories with friends on wrath.
Deep Stone Crypt is so different and unique compared to the other raids, that BrayTech aesthetic is just clean and beautiful, and going into space for the first time + the jumping puzzle with the best song in any raid is simply one of the best experiences in the whole game. Top 5 Raids imo.
DSC also feels very unique cause it's one of the only raids (maybe the only one) in which the raid setting is neutral ground. All the other raids we basically invade the enemy's fortress/domain, but DSC feels like a raid where we are defending rather than invading
There's this sudden urge to do Riven Legit every once in a while and it comes out to be one of the most fun experience with the boys every time
I wish my friends felt the same way because at this point I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to do Riven legit T-T

@@mohammedsaradih4787 I mean it would be cool to have. It was never a weapon that was used for clearing content and other aspects of the game. It was a unique weapon that was created for the purpose of having fun.
Kings fall is mine. The environment, the MUSIC, the difficulty we’re all perfect IMO. Final boss fight was by far the most epic encounter of any raid.
I think for like the first few runs it’s the best. Just because of the grandeur of everything but replay ability it lacks a lot because things can’t be sped up

I love warpriest and gologroth like you said the music and environment was so good and it really feels like you're going there to finish the campaign instead of killing some random boss we were barely ever introduced to.

@@stephenfajen332 true, I get why people don’t like that. But for me I felt satisfied with myself after beating it more than any other raid even after multiple plays. It was more exciting to me than the topical stand in one spot and do dps boss fights.
Leviathan was my first raid, so it holds a special place in my heart. What I liked about it was for every encounter there wasn’t a position for “just stand there and clear ads.” But every encounter also had a position that could be explained in two sentences.
Yeah I had a raid night with my friends who don't really play D2 and was able to teach it to 4 people relatively easily, and it was a great time. It was also my first raid
i agree, leviathan wasn't liked by many top tier players, but it was so easy to teach and run with casual players.
For me it's Deep Stone Crypt. I know it's an easy raid, combat difficulty wise, but the mechanics FEEL good. The atmosphere is, for me at least, second to none. It was also my very first "Day 1" experience, and that went a long way to making it just amazing for me. I love going back in there and just being there.
This. DSC's mechanics feel good to do and it makes it fun for me, while Garden is the opposite. Screaming at people messing up a tether is the most annoying shit lol
100%. Sure it's too easy, but I love everything about DSC. Felt like the Bungie team was firing on all cylinders with it.
Deep Stone Ctypt was my first ever raid in Destiny 2, and I really can't un-love it. Also the music. God, the music
It also can be challenging at times if people aren't using titans or if you have to teach... Looking at you atraks.
My favorite raid is garden of salvation. I know it’s an unpopular opinion but I really like the second and third encounters. They’re really systematic. You rely on your teammates to keep you alive since you can’t refresh the buff without two in the second and your teammate have to keep the boss from killing you in the third. All the encounters feel like a real team experience to me and not just all people doing different things.
Yeah it’s my second favorite and I find it really fun but I’m not sure why. I just find it unique compared to the others in which you can’t really have anyone do nothing for most of it
I have the exact same feeling. I cant really explain it but the raid is just so good. I'd look at it with non bias I can say that it definetely isnt the best. But the atmosphere, the fun, the encounters, AND ASPECIALLY THE MUSIC (so fucking good) makes it overall my favorite. But really, on day one, that boss music was one of the best things ive ever experienced.
Unlike most other raids, everybody has to have a job 99% of the time in all the encounters which makes it feel very satisfying to execute properly

Mine has always been Kings Fall. I enjoy platforming, and Golgaroth has always been my favorite boss fight by far.
Why do you think that?
For me its VOG original. Nostalgia is big here. I remember coming home, getting in destiny, and playing this raid with a bunch of old dudes on day one. I was 8 years old, I'm sixteen now, have my license, getting ready to apply to college, and have experienced so much more of the world and yet my best memories are of that raid. I love it to this day, and will never forget the good times. Destiny 1 has my love forever.
I'd probably say Deep Stone is my favorite overall - it has the whole "chill with the buds" vibe that Datto mentioned and overall there's not a single encounter I don't like in there. Even Security is so quick most of the time that it doesn't bother me to do it. Scourge is a close second though, granted that's partially because it was the first raid I ever ran so it gets some nostalgia bonus points.
Bro this is how I feel. DSC then scourge. Both are so laid back and enjoyable. I cam run them more than 3 times a week for pure enjoyment.
Second that. DSC, then Scourge. I like my Sparrows. Vault of Glass is third, though possibly because I just beat it today and it's in fresh memory.
Def agree, Scourge is 100% nostalgia points and DSC just hits that special chord with the music and vibes
For me, Scourge of the Past is my favorite. The city setting, the difficulty not being too hard, and the loot (Anarchy + Always on time) all make it great. Not to mention the sparrow encounter being really fun. I think that if I had to choose a raid to do, it would be that one.
Probably have to say Wrath here, pretty much for the same reasons listed in video, second place is probably Scourge, sure it's smaller but I just loved actually fighting in the last city, plus the sparrow part always ended up in some laughter, be it a close call or car crash. The other thing is that the fight against Insurrection actually feels like a fight, a boss who actually moves around, who attacks you with a varied arsenal, who even in between damage phases you have to hit to take down shields/stun out of more dangerous attacks, so many bosses just kinda stand there doing nothing while you solve a Rubik's cube to bring the shield down. Probably Crown of sorrow for third which is weird because it's easily my least cleared, but it's the one I wish I had back the most, the satisfaction of executing like clockwork was so satisfying and the music was soooooo good.
I hope I never have a reason to run last wish. Too many long over-stretched runs with LFGs, no real mechanical "theming" and outside of Riven the bosses are just boring.

2. King’s Fall
3. Vault of Glass
4. Crota’s End
5. Wrath of a Machine

I’m a minority here but Crota’s End will always be my favorite. I have such great memories for every encounter and I adore the aesthetic. I’d also love to see bungie bring it back revamped as the most difficult raid we’ve ever seen.

Crota's End is my favorite too, I hope they up its difficulty to be at least on par with King's Fall.
My favorite has got to be Leviathan. Not only is it a really good raid, it was the first raid I ever played since I never played D1. I hope they add it back at some point.

Yep, I started with D2 and that intro cutscene, flying up to this massive ship and seeing your tiny guardians in comparison get ready to kick some ass... just glorious.
Everyone always seems to want lots of bosses and Last Wish is great it's my favorite raid but Levi is such a close second. It's what I always imagined raids were before I started playing. Three puzzle type encounters that are all different, in a very wealthy gold setting, and then you get to the big boss man. Had the underbelly so you could learn shortcuts if you didnt wanna to the top every time, special armor effects to give you bonuses while in the raid. So great and so sad that's it's now gone.
@@DavidFerneau The one part I will always remember was our first time beating it. Me and one of my friends along with my brother and three of his friends were doing it day one, blind. We started at around 8PM and one of my brother’s friends was at a boarding school where they would shut off the internet at night. As it got closer and closer to midnight, we were getting worried that he’d have his internet cut off any minute and we’d have to try again the following weekend. We finally managed to get to Calus and after 3 or 4 attempts we finally beat him. 5 seconds after the final chest opened and we got our loot, he disconnected and hopped on discord on his phone a couple seconds later to say the school shut off the internet. We could not have possibly cut that any closer.
I loved wrath because it was the perfect difficulty to have a good time, but still give a challenge. I lost contact with my old clan, and took a healthy break from d2, so I haven’t raided since the leviathan

Yeah I've been trying to find a good raid clan since I lost contact with my old one. Raiding has been fun though with doing DSC and VOG
For me there's no particular raid that stands out as my absolute favorite raid, but if I had to choose one I think it would be Scourge of the Past for me. I really enjoyed how unique it was compared to other raids with the ability to use your sparrow in every encounter. The sparrow (2nd) encounter was also pretty fun to try and get better at and master, as well the ability to clutch the encounter for your team was satisfying. I loved the final boss especially. I loved that it was a giant mech that roamed around the arena that used a variety of attacks that you could counter. It really gave the boss a dynamic experience that made it feel like a real living threat (which is ironic for being a mech). Plus the damage phase was more engaging with the phase synergy mechanic compared to most other raids. And the icing on the cake is that the exotic raid weapon was single handedly the most powerful raid exotic period (outside maybe the week 1 Vex Mythoclast in D1). There's only 2 things that would've made the raid better IMO, which were adding another encounter and having better weapons.
I enjoy the atmosphere and technicality of King’s Fall. Doing everything right is really engaging and satisfying and it was also the first raid I learned to do. Some others, VOG in D2 can feel like I’m waiting around for phases to begin/end.
Vault of Glass was and always will be my favorite. I remember my first completion of the raid was back in 2014, and we all had no idea what we were doing. Yet, we somehow did well. Anyway one guy had to go afk because he would get grounded if he didn’t do his chores in time and we grossly underestimated how long it would take us. Another guy was lagging awfully but we had to keep him because lfg wasn’t available back then. We finally got to Atheon after 3 hours and defeated him after another hour or so. I even got Vex Mythoclast too! I had blast with my friends and we continued to do the raids up until Wrath Of The Machine. Good times.
Wrath is my favourite raid. I love the siva asthetic, and Aksis is one of the best boss fights Bungie has ever done. I agree that challenge mode Aksis is the best challenge encounter to do. Unlimited supers, going to town at his feet with dark drinker was always a good time
The Aksis boss theme is one of my favorites in all the raids. So epic!!
Desperation is really setting in before witch queen, hang tight Datto it’s gonna be ok
I have the softest spot in my soul for King's Fall. Even the frustration of less than perfect execution on the final boss could never make me hate this raid. Some of my favorite platforming ever.
I adore Leviathan. I enjoyed the way the raid changed weekly, and how fun I found each encounter, even less-than exciting Baths. I looooooooved running Gauntlet. All of the Levi raids made me happy. I ran so much Eater, and when the Levi was vaulted, I felt sad.

What I like a bout a raid is when it’s a different (but still fun) experience every time you play. Vault and the puzzle rooms in shura chi are great examples. Making yourself think on the fly and solve something different every time instead of just memorizing exactly where you go and just doing it on autopilot. DSC had this a little with the different buffs being in different spots as well as leviathan at the end

Definitely going with WOTM. The outbreak prime puzzle even though it's not an actual encounter is something I'd like to see more off. The mechanics are all great and it's the hardest raid to "cheese" or at least was at the time. The final boss was my favorite encounter because you nailed it Datto, everyone has a job and communication was key. Bonus points for the challenge mode. Do you think they should have more outbreak style puzzles in raids? Why or why not? I feel like it almost never gets mentioned.
Seeing you using No Land Beyond in Wrath really takes me back, what a fantastic weapon. Definitely top of my list of weapons that need to come back.
On topic, my favorite raid is probably Crota’s End. It’s where my team got our shit together and learned to work as a group, especially on hard mode. We had such a blast in there, best memories in Destiny by far.
Wrath is my favorite. The encounters are relatively easy to teach and it’s not super hard, but the cherry on top is the soundtrack. The trumpet fanfare that plays when someone gets empowered is simply amazing
Spire of Stars is the one raid I could run all day. I taught a bit over 200 people the raid in season of arrivals. It was tough to teach at first but I figured out how to do it better over time. Teaching 5 new people only took around an hour.
It’s amazing how many people agree on Last Wish being the best raid, and honestly I’ve gotta agree. Everything from the aesthetic to the storytelling and lore inclusion to the mechanics makes it the most “epic” and enjoyable raid I’ve ever played, with kings fall being the only one that comes close.
I feel it's so far above that most people would say it is the best raid, even if it's not their favourite.
I guess I’m weird cause I truly believe that last wish is bottom 3 raids. Right next to wrath.
It could’ve been so much better imo. Mostly because of riven. It’s just a mechanic heavy game of wack a mole, rather than a sprawling dragon boss fight

my friends and i have recently been tackling Master mode VoG and i gotta say: thats the most fun raiding ive had in a while. the challenges can be kind of annoying but theres nothin more satisfying than finally clearing it w ur friends
Idk I personally find Deep Stone Crypt to be my all time favorite since there's not a single 'bad" encounter, weapons are all fun, you have different ways to fight bosses like Atraks-1 with 6-4 and 3-3, not to mention some of the best music and aesthetics of any location bar the dreaming city to date.
After seeing how good vog 2 was i think a crotas end 2 could be pretty outstanding. Visually certain parts of crotas end are awesome to me and ive always wanted to see it realised as an actual proper raid.
The Abyss trek in Crota is still possibly my favorite encounter out of any of them, it felt perfectly presented based on what the story told you to expect

@@aomais_ I'm willing to bet they'll add more than just Thrall chasing you. I know there were other enemies but I think they were at the end of that encounter and only became a problem if you stuck around too long.
Also they should add MORE thrall to that encounter imo.

Wrath is my favorite raid, with Deep Stone and King's Fall rounding out the top 3. Wrath had the perfect combination of fun raid, memories, the first raid linked exotic quests, and the loot. Man that Chaos Dogma scout rifle was a thing of beauty.
Leviathan since it was first raid my friends and I actually were able to grind up to and beat. Took us hours to do maybe a month after it dropped, but I will never forget that feeling.
Personally I love garden, the experience is always great even from my first run which was 17+ hours. And every encounter has felt awesome especially 1 and 4. The difficulty is my kinda thing so I'm not really a fan of encounter 2 and 3 because of how easy they are but I still think it's underrated. Riven would be my fav boss but I had to knock a few points off because of how easily cheesable it is so Sanctified Mind takes that spot instead, managing to be a difficult boss without over reliance on the more aggravating aspects of other raids (namely the world's buggiest ball mechanics from Spire of Stars)
My favorite raid is Crota's End because it was an incredibly fun solo experience, and a lot of the cheese and strategies I used I came up with, instead of just using a guide online. Otherwise its Scourge cause its just fun with the bois
Mine will always be Last Wish, it was my first major raid experience (I had played a fair amount before, just never raided) and I was very fortunate with the LFG I joined. I still play with those guys today, and it was so satisfying to beat. It took about 8 hours, and I had so much fun. The atmosphere, the fight, the challenge, the lore, all of it was just perfect. I still remember the hype surrounding the raid race, and wishing so badly I could do it. Definitely one of my favorite gaming moments.
My personal favorite is very close between Eater of Worlds and Garden of Salvation, but I think Eater of Worlds wins. I absolutely adore the setting and vfx used in this raid with the purple pools and fiery background. The sound effects of Argos doing the vex screaming and the shield going up are perfectly done, and when you have to blitz his weak spots to stop the gravity weapon wipe feels powerful. Argos’ music is also amazing. Garden is a close second because I love the frantic first and last encounters and the environment can’t be beat in terms of beauty. The music is my favorite in the game with a few exceptions.
Argos, Consecrated mind and Sanctified mind all look super menacing as well, which makes the final win feel even better. Same with Templar and Atheon.
I think I have a thing for vex raids.
Please, give us wrath of the machines in d2. It would be so much fun to have it in the setting we are in now.
Hot Takes:
I don't think Crota gets enough love for how different and challenging the raid experience was if you tried to solo it. You felt like a speedrunner abusing despawn mechanics at the bridge, and juggling both sides of the deathsinger was a hectic good time.
The Riven Cheese was the best thing that could have happened for that encounter since the main mechanic was just a lengthy game of telephone that caused a wipe if something went even slightly wrong. Memorizing isn't fun.
Scourge of the Past has the most unique, fun, and interesting ideas of any raid that all come together at the end to create the best raid experience to date.
The frostbite section in Deep Stone Crypt was just a slower and less fun take on the lamps from Crota's End.
The problem with cheesing riven is that you miss the sense of scale with the boss. The drop down section is one of the most epic fantasy like parts in any raid
Most people think raids are supposed to be done together, sure its cool to be able to solo something but abusing mechanics and doing raids solo take away from the "band together and solve the puzzles to kill the guy" experience that raids bring

You had me chuckling at the Riven take, but I’ve never read anything as funny as the Scourge take.
That raid is literally Wrath of the Machine but trash. Grasp of Avarice, a dungeon, is a better version of Scourge.
I have a real soft spot for Scourge - it was the first raid I ever ran reliably, chasing Anarchy, so it become very second nature to me. Loved finally having some hefty content set in the Last City, and the sparrow run and final boss were super fun.
I think it's awesome that you and I share the same top two favorite raids of all time.
King's Fall is my all time fav and hope that it makes a grand return and Crota's End holds a special place for me cause I was able to solo it, making it a glorified nightfall lol

Nothing can top raid for me. It was truly a heart pounding experience.
Wrath of the Machine, and the hard mode was a blast!! During that time though my main raid team fell apart, and I started running with Rando's. But I was so glad when I got Outbreak Prime!!! That gun Melted everything!!
I loved doing Spire of Stars, something about being a cohesive unit with your fire team just made it feel different. Sure the jumping puzzle is long, but it made for a little downtime in between encounters.
Just give me King's Fall back. The moment when Oryx appears is honestly one of the most epic moments in a video game.
Its highly likely so far. Since I think they have said that it’s probably one of the big ones. Since we have crota everywheres. And for them to bring wotm, they would have to being siva back. Which would be cool but I doubt it would happen.

kings fall, it was just perfection! the environment the music the scale, I just loved oryx as an encounter, and the shadow realm is my favorite encounter in any raid/dungeon across any game
DSC's gotta be my favourite. The soundtrack is great and the boss fights (especially Atraks) are so cool

My favorite has been Garden of Salvation. It was my first raid, and my hardest/longest completion. I was coming back to D2 after year 1 and wanted to try raiding. No one would take a "new light" and so I had to teach myself. My first completion took me 18 hours and I sherpad it as well as did the div puzzle. It was brutal, but that's why I loved it. It required so much teamwork. It also gave me the patience to do most raids with most any group.

Wrath of the Machine will always hold a special place in my heart...it had the right amount of everything I wanted in a raid and didn't drag itself on for way too long.
King's Fall is my favorite probably because of the atmosphere. Going into the Dreadnaught to fight Hive gods was cool and one of the coolest Destiny memories I have is seeing Oryx pop up for the first time and I was so shocked by how big he was. It was satisfying and I loved the mechanics of the raid. I also really like Deep Stone Crypt because I think it's a really interesting raid with the setting and lore behind it. The atmosphere there is also something special, at least to me. I remember the first time muting and deafening on Discord and making out my music and audio on the platform section. Truly beautiful.
My favorite raid will forever be wrath of the machine, just my favorite thing to do is run around and do glitches and try to finish the raid fast by using speed run strays but not speedrunning and competing for the most damage on aksis and trying to see who is faster there are just a ton of thing u can learn to do to have more fun in the raid and I know there are things like that in other raid but wrath just puts them all together in the best ways

Mine would be wrath bc of the setting. I absolutely love the scale of the raid and the weapons you could get from it were all just so good so you never felt bad for getting a specific drop. The encounters are intense but not so intense that you need absolute concentration, so you can have a good time with your friends while also kicking Aksis to the curb if everyone knows what there doing.
as someone who started in shadowkeep im gonna go out and say DSC. because its pretty chill and that moment you go to the morningstar station was a magical experience outright
Last Wish is my favourite at this time. The fact that it's a big, multi encounter raid where each boss has a slightly different take on mechanics with enough action for the team generally to be engaged makes it super enjoyable. I'd just like to do legit Riven once so I've seen the whole fight.
Since you asked, its probably crota for me. Nice easy raid, easy to teach and it gives a nice intro to raids for new raiders. Also the boss fight as the sword bearer....the music and the fact you actually attack the boss head on...you feel so powerful. Its what i expect from a raid, no other raid puts a mechanic in your hands like that. LOVED using that sword on him!
I love Wrath challenge mode and having to keep track of empowerments and the fact that mastery made a difference. My best time with an LFG was 50min on normal, we only wiped once on Zamboni :)
I will always consider DSC one of my favorites solely because the platforming section with Deep Stone Lullaby is so well done atmospherically. When LFGs are telling you to shut up for the next 30sec and turn your music up to 10...you know you're about to experience something special.
While I acknowledge it isn’t the best raid my personal favorite has been Crown of Sorrow. The setting was spooky and exciting and the mechanics of the raid were really fun to nail as you progress through. I loved having a partner to deal with stuff the whole raid. The last two encounters I really think are some of the best in the franchise and having the music swell as you start DPS on Gahlran is a huge adrenaline rush I haven’t gotten anywhere else.
Gos is my favorite raid because I like the sherpas, speedruns, and challenges. They are so team oriented and if one person is really good it can feel like everyone working to plug leaks while someone truly drives the boat. It's just really fun and engaging.
I love DSC. The Europa setting, Europa is my favorite destination to date, the music, fun encounters, it's just a fantastic raid.
I really like totems encounter in kings fall as it was originally so hard to do with lfg teams that when you got it down it was very satisfying
I'm just impressed you still play the game. I had over 2000 hours in D1 (which is a lot for me) Once D2 came out me and my friend group were so underwhelmed we all basically quit the game. I still play occasionally but only a couple hours a month. As for raids, My attention span isn't long enough to enjoy one.
Crota will always be my favorite. It was such a great starter raid. And i always had a blast playing it
Now I'd love to see a Datto tier list of raid encounters.
My favourite one is dsc. Not only was it the first raid I ever did (never played in a clan before) but the setting also blew me away. I like the system with the operator, scanner and suppressor role so that you always had teams changing their thing because of the augment deactivation.
For last wish, it is one of my favourite but I only did the riven normally once and then just the cheese for it because we mess the eyes up quite frequently xD
Coldheart vs. Calus w/ Arc Souls is a hidden memory now. But I'm not mad for being reminded of it. It was fun.

I'd have to say simply because of nostalgia and my favourite encounters in the game currently. Kings fall takes this by a good margin. You start off with a solid, but not fairly easy beginning encounter by slamming 6 different balls into the "smaller totems" but also adding mechanics as shooting the doors as barriers, resulting in one person to run with the ball person while the last 2 clear ads in middle, everyone communicating together, etc. In the jumping puzzle encounter, this is eaily my 2nd favourite jumping puzzle with 1st being leviathan. Predicting where the ships were gonna go and later on finding out you can sword your way to the end as a "challenge" actually made it a lot more fun to me. Totems was actually an enjoyable encounter to me regardless of the length bc it was simple, easy and everyone played an even role in killing the same amount of ads while also changing positions. Warpriest was probably my favourite looking boss for a while with atheon and crota coming very close during that time and the reading mechanic was actually extremely entertaining to me for some reason. Damaging was a pain sometimes because of his stagger mechanic resulting him to move and in some cases move behind pillars AND the fact that whoever had that damage mechanic buff and was forced to save ads in middle and kill them when the timer went down was actually a lot harder than I thought it'd be because the acolytes would constantly hide behind the walls whenever the timer would reach 2 seconds😂and this encounter was also when actual good weapons/armour started dropping (i believe the the machine gun, chestplate, sniper & boots). Like datto, golgoroth was my favourite mechanically-enjoyable encounter cuz it required precision timing in order to do a maximum amount of damage with the spore only lasting for a specific amount of time, cursed thrall running towards the spore so people would have to sacrifice maximum dps to live, person with gaze would run out/shoot orbs and call out time in order to swtich and/or drop another spore + switch gaze, etc. This jumping puzzle is actually below the first jumping puzzle imo bc even tho there was more variety of glitches, ways to reach the end, etc. the jumping puzzle was kinda simple (in ways like you jumped down, then back up and you were at the door). There was a bridge component which made it more interactive but ppl could just fly over it if they really wanted to with a sword. Sisters was my least fav encounter in this raid but it did introduce the final boss room, the taken jumping mechanic, how the plates work and the orb used for damage phase which is a big + before oryx. Oryx is probably my favourite encounter because of the plate mechanic, taken jumping mechanic, teleportation into a small room (but in reality is actually big), killing ogres and standing in taken balls to ignite damage. The only flaws in this encounter was I really wish that the damage encounter required us to do actual damage to him instead of the taken balls being the things that inflict a specific amount of damage to him. The raid loot was amazing, touch of malice quest was probably one of my favs, hard mode didn't add too much extra but the hard mode loot was sick and on top of it, the taken king story and expansion overall was a banger
Eater of worlds will always be one of my favorites it was a little on the short side but for either my group or a good lfg it was a great way to wind down a raid night

Kings fall hands down, I love last wish and deep stone too but kings fall is the most fun and “you get lost playing it” type of raid with the boys and even lfg. I agree with your boss perfection comment but beating it first time or not is still such a great feeling. Not to mention the loot and weapons were favorites for me out of most raids along with the soundtrack and dreadnaught outlook. Love destiny,your content , and the community❤️ witch queen babyyyyyyyy
Mine will always be Last Wish, it was my first major raid experience (I had played a fair amount before, just never raided) and I was very fortunate with the LFG I joined. I still play with those guys today, and it was so satisfying to beat. It took about 8 hours, and I had so much fun.
Deep stone crypt and kings fall are my top two. Love the gear you get from it, and the music and environment were so good. Wrath is definitely close from a fun perspective but outside of outbreak, the gear was mid. Last wish is also really good, but it feels like I can’t ever get a consistent group and it just leads to a long, frustrating experience
King's Fall, baby. I love the sense of scale and the "storming the fortress" feel of the whole thing. I'm also one of those masochists who loves jumping puzzles.
I would have to say DSC is my favorite raid. And i finally have Eyes of Tomorrow after doing my first one phase with Taniks, which was very satisfying.
Kings fall has to be my favorite raid. Hands down top 3 gaming experiences of my life to finish the raid when it released, my friends were climbing up the walls IRL. So many good memories
Scourge and Crota are probably my favorite raids, even if I know that last wish is probably better objectively.
Just the experiences I had with them when they were relevant content are some of the best times I’ve had in destiny period.
Scourge of the Past is my favorite. I just love being in the City, zipping around on Sparrows, and that tanks get utilized in the boss fight. It just brought in so many new mechanics.
Also you fight a giant Fallen mech.
D1 raids were so much fun. Beating oryx in challenge mode was so satisfying as 16balls pop at the same time, and there couldn't be any mistakes made. I still remember the night that my group were stuck on Aksis challenge mode till 4 in the morning, we were all so tired from it but still got it done, totally worth it and enjoyable
Relic running for groups that didn’t know how had to be one of the peak destiny moments for me. Also, whatever the three man prison of elders boss was called in between Croats End and Kings Fall is definitely top two or three fights for me
Mine will always be Wrath of the Machine. I loved it from start to finish. The Aksis fight music theme is so awesome, I remember me and my lads were excited to jump at the back platforms after the DPS phase so the Siva Critical Density theme starts playing. Man, the good old days...
My favorite part of a raid is the deep stone lullaby part of DSC, my favorite raid is probably last wish because fighting and meeting an ahamkara was very cool.
Golgroth was my all time fav encounter too. I remember doing the challenge on hard and getting that beautiful spider emblem
I love when I disagree with what is at highest tier in these videos across your tube because it starts a debate in my mind and honestly you’ve swayed me to like wrath more. It was my most hated raid in the series by far but from your points I’ve gained a new perspective and I’m happy to reconsider given it’s probably the next raid to come to d2
I've always loved Scourge of the Past and not really known why. Something about the large, super open encounters felt perfect for a chill raid setting. The ability to use sparrows in all the areas was really fun too, and the tank parts of the final encounters were unique as hell
Last wish has been and always will be my favorite raid. Way too much fun, and just recently did riven legit for the first time. Incredible feeling
Just finished my first ever Vault of Glass today, actually, and got myself a Vision of Confluence and three pieces of armor on my Warlock. Very fun, decently easy to learn. But! My favorite is still Deep Stone Crypt.
