Wasnt Barely Melted Capacitor at some point a part of that "riddle" related to the Eliminating the Impossible Medic set along with some other now-useless items?
The sad part is that The Gas Passer has planned stats they were experimenting with in order to balance out the other throwable consumables like Jarate and Mad Milk. (Mainly to fix how easily spammable and free they are especially near supply cabinets.) The damn thing is technically _stuck in a beta stage_ until someone comes along and adjusts it.

plus if grenades were going to be in the game, Gas Passer stats are a good way to balance the spammable nature of grenades and mines in earlier Team fortress games.

@@mogus6271 the issue is Gas Passer is good in only ONE game mode.
I would make the Gas passer lower the recharge rate from 60 seconds to 45 seconds(and the damage required of course) and give it a switch on pressing R when active between the Gasoline cloud mode(what we got in game) and Gasoline bomb mode(50 damage with no falloff, and causes the Gasoline afteburn effect) which would make it better then what it was.
this is also needed for other types, both utility and damage.
I don't understand why is that an issue to begin with, more ways to punish spawncamping scums the better and unlimited jarate in spawn certainly help. They deserve any small amount of annoyance they would get from that

Fun fact: The Something Special for Someone Special is the only cosmetic that can be equipped multiple times without a glitch, so if you're crazy and have 3 you can have 3 on one finger but only 1 shows, basically a flex but no one will know
anyone that checks your loadout can see it though (looking at you and pressing f), since unless you're insane chances are you named the ring something stupid.
Pretty sure that's the case for any regionless misc. The pencilpusher for engineer and the antlers for all classes are notable examples that come to mind because you can have all three, and both can come in unusual quality, which is why they're extremely expensive even for common and often considered "bad" effects. Much less high or god tier effects like darkblaze. The darkblaze antlers late in December of 2021 dethroning the burning flames team captain as the most expensive item in the game. Because it's a regionless all class misc (that's also a 1 of 1).

just realize that the gas passer is in the same game where we have the mad milk and jarraté, both itens that recharge and are thrown, put enemies in a wet state and can extinguisher your teammates. the gas passer doesn't count as wet (so neon annihilator don't crit), has more than double the time to recharge, can't be recharged in a spawn camp, requires more damage than any buffer from Soldier ( a ranged class) to charge, and extinguisher your enemies.
also if another pyro that isn't you ignites someone that you managed to wet with the gas passer, the damage it deals is counted for recharging their gas passer, not yours.
If jarate is urine, then what is the gas passer if it doesn't even make things wet???

personally i like the gas passer but goodness gracious is it braindead in mvm because i have died then gotten stacks of kills because just because I was able to dose them with the gas passer (also when i say i like the gas passer I only mean in mvm because by the time you douse someone they either kill you or their team kills you)
Someone probably mentioned this already but the gas passer can be quite viable in MvM (so much so it inspired a group of MvM tryhards to have an absolute rage fit over it's existence and anyone who used it)
I dont rage when i see a pyro with it in mvm but i think the scorch shot is far more broken since you can stun lock robots from a distance and push the bomb back safely
My point is, even with is power its not realy the one and truly secondary for pyro

Transmorgrifiers no longer exist. They no longer drop and if they were not used before the expiration, they were deleted. Same as Spells.

idk, I'd say the Pallet of Crates is one of the most intimidating items to have. You load into a server and say every time you die, everyone gets a crate. Suddenly you don't die anymore

Gas passer is powerful in mvm. So powerful in fact that some teams will ask you to not equip it or even kick you since it takes the job of both sniper and demo, which is taking out uber medics and small hordes of tightly gathered bots. And it also creates a really bad habit for pyro players, upgrading that thing all the way instead of their actual primary or their own defences. Its stupid how a pyro can almost tie (or even surpass somehow) a heavy in damage while spending a good chunk of the round dead.

I only upgrade the explosion on the gas passer, as pyro you deal enough damage with flames in Mvm To recharge it very quickly.
It's kind of ironic that the gas passer is basically usless in normal tf2 but in mvm it's like one of the strongest weapons and made pyro a very solid pick thanks to the explosion on ignite upgrade
Because its so stupidly strong, some teams (especially in mann up) may vote kick you just for using it. So even there it's a headache.

Gas Passer, while it is disgustingly strong in MvM and can solo massive hordes by itself, I see why it is hated, it makes other players feel useless or outclassed by a dude throwing around a rusted gas can full of gas.
"New" and IMPROVED Gas Passer
+ Cannot be extinguished
+ Jumping into water gives an extra tick of afterburn (since you're mixing oil fire with water)
+ Target is now considered Wet
+ Gas cloud lingers for 15 seconds
- 30 second cooldown but can be decreased by damage (300 damage) or extinguishing teammates (5 times)
- Spawning and Resupply do not affect Gas meter
Creates a horrific visible gas cloud that coats enemies with a flammable material, which then ignites into afterburn if they take damage (even enemy Pyros!)
Gas Passer can now be used in Degroot Keep as a throwable (if Sniper and Scout can throw theirs all the time, why not pyro)

Actually, the Gas Passer is busted in MVM. A lot of community servers actually have it disabled because explode on ignite is kinda nutty.
I agree that the gas passer is useless in normal gameplay, but it has an upgrade in mvm that makes it one of the most overpowered weapons there. You know, for the few people who still play mvm

Actually, you could put spells on Barely-Melted Capacitors so they're a common thing spell traders want, especially if they have footprints on them.

But I also wanna point out that even though the effect isn't great it still intimidates people enough to be some decent area denial
You know, here are some solutions I have for the Gas Passer.... Make the effect last longer. Reduce the cool down a bit....
And, give all other throwable liquids the same system. Meaning you can't go to spawn and recharge Mad Milk/Jarate instantly. It makes NO sense that these much more powerful items have far fewer restrictions on usage, I mean, what's more dangerous? Being set on fire? Or getting mini crit/becoming an enemy's healing source?. Maybe even do it like HiGPS servers do, and give it a drastically nerfed version of the "Explode on Ignite" from MvM.

4:32 Actually, one pro is that TF2's competitive mode is normally locked behind purchasing another item, you can probably guess why. If you still have this in your inventory, you still have access to competitive mode. Trust me, I have this in my inventory.
Fixin the gaspasser in 1 stat, add a small explosion (once per target) when someone shoots enemy that deals close to none bonus damage but briefly knocks them up reseting their acceleration and stopping movement for a fraction of a second, making the pyro capable of close distances as long as someone else is shooting at the target and giving him another tool to slow an uber push.

I've seen a lot of people saying the same things about the gas passer (decrease recharge time, damage needed, etc.), but I have an alternative idea. Make it a melee weapon. Give it a relatively large decrease to either its swing speed or damage dealt, and make throwing the gas passer its alternative fire.
Ideas welcome, like why the hell don't gas passer soaked enemies not count as wet!?
I agree with your idea for a Gaspasser rework but I think I needs something more. How about it has the less damage needed to charge like you said but, instead of it taking 30 seconds like you said it instead was closer to 45-50 seconds. But to make it better it's afterburn stacks like bleed and the gas cloud would stay for a second or two longer. Thoughts on this buff?
My solution for the gas passer would be
-make it fill up with each teammate you extinguish idk, maybe 6 teammates? This would act as a counter for enemy pyros punishing them and their team for setting teammates on fire
-when thrown, it acts like a l4d molotov causing a fire in a zone that last for 15 seconds, does damage over time and afterburn when standing inside but only afterburn if you touched but arent inside the flames, also pyros that touch the flames suffer full afterburn
-teammate's huntsman arrows that fly above the zone are set on fire
Because setting enemies on fire is beneficial to the enemy pyro i'd say that this gas passer version of afterburn should be different maybe named gasoline afterburn or something like that, that works like regular afterburn but doesnt give health to pyros when they put it out
To counter this version of the gas passer, it can be put out in the following ways but i want it to be like a trade
The flames can be extinguish by a single throw of madmilk or jarate, making the enemy waste them to negate the zone, either the pyro cant extinguish it - or he needs more than one airblast to do it - sacrificing ammo in the process
For mvm just make it work like this and when upgraded it works like the usual explosion with no flames in the floor or anything
I guess one major con is that one would suffer a lot thanks to scorch shot pyros but i've already suffered because of my teammates before like when i get killed by the reflected spam of my fellow soldiers and stuff like that, so it wouldnt be anything new

In MvM its the opposite problem. Its so stupidly good that teams may actually kick you just for using it since its considered a massive crutch that doesn't require any kind of skill and your sniper or demo will feel robbed from their role. The Gas passer blows on both fronts somehow.
The capasitor is good if you want to stack spells on any loadout. Just usuful only around Halloween then

No joke, make the gas passer a throwable melee weapon, with you hitting people with the can. Make the can itself do less damage than stock and/or a slower swing speed since it's unwieldy. And make the gas unextinguishable and/or ignite everyone in the cloud when fire touches the cloud.

the gass paser has one use and its in MVM because you can buy an upgrade that makes it deal loads of damge when you hit a robot
correction: conch takes 480 damage to fill while the buff banner and battalion's backup takes 600 damage to fill

I just use the gas passer as Pyro's bath water dispenser but in travel on the go form instead of the pool party one which is just smoked / in 1 place to succ the Pyro's bath water form.

An idea to make the gas passer viable
-it takes 45 second to recharge or 125 damage
+When it hits the terrain the gas will explode dealing 65 explosion damage and full afterburn to the foes in the range
# you can serf the explosion and do gas passer jump(somewhat bigger that the detonator,but of a little bit)

I think the pallet of crates is good if simply for the fact that crates don't really drop anymore. More of a "Here's something that doesn't drop that you can get something good with" type of thing

I used to think the gaspasser gave crits for the flamethrower if enemies are affected by it. Glad I didn't waste money buying it.
Pros to pallet of crates: you can hold the entire pub hostage with it. Forcing that annoying ass pyroshark to stop doing what he's doing.
Another (actual) pro is that the crates it awards do not drop anymore, allowing you to stock on crates that can not be obtained in any other way.
Every time I see a pallet of crates in scrap.tf I shudder slightly, but when I see that same pallet of crates gone I get a sense of dread.

Consume Transmorgifier, gonna be honest, I was even even aware this existed, that model is indeed really cool and it should be reused at some point, but I see this is yet another item that suffered the same fate of being forgotten like spell vials did.

I do have one item I'd add for the next video: Audition reels, by entering a seed and choosing from 4 options; these were how you got taunts (and unusual taunts) added back in the Love N War Update. I don't think it should need much explaining after Jungle Inferno why these are useless now.
