The song's title simply means lullaby (suo = lull; gân = song).

The unfortunate thing about this wonderful movie is that it completely flew under the radar. I watched as a kid but none of my friends recognize it. Such a shame. One of Spielberg’s best.
it is!!
One of my favorite films of all time. I watched it when I was 8 or 9 years old, and I can't forget this film until today.
Had NO idea the main character was "Batman" later
I have the same!!
I knew Christian Bale was going places after watching this movie.
Just watched this wonderful film again. The film and the music never fails to reduce me to tears. A masterpiece.
One of the most beautiful songs and a wonderful selection of clips from the film. Young Jim's adventures, his reverence for the beauty of flight, its impression of liberty and how this is stolen during the war, and his willfulness and resourcefulness to survive, makes for a true, unlikely hero's journey. One of the greatest, most beautiful films of all time.
My funeral song being a proud welsh man
The Empire of the Sun is my favorite movie, period. I was an adult when I saw it but it connected with the child that I had been on a very deep and profound level. I had never been in war but I had experienced some of the equally intense emotions that the boy had as he survived the war. I'll never forget the day I saw this movie. I purchased it and now and agàin rewatch it. Steven Spielberg's best of the best.
One of the best. Very humbling and teaches how love is stronger than war. Peace shd always be the option
Brilliant film and love for James. Made an adult before his time only to realise adults around him have betrayal in their hearts. Love his reunion with his mother. An unsung film that deserves more attention.
This is, in my opinion, Spielberg's best movie.
I totally agree!
One of his best ones, no doubt
Yes, it is! And this, in my life, is the best movie I've ever seen since I was 12 and nothing has taken its place.
Even better than Poltergeist?
@@ameliabedelia7018 Good question, but different genres. I'll still stand by it. I enjoyed Poltergeist, but Empire of the Sun moved me in deep and profound ways. It is probably the most powerful movie I've ever seen.
Truly memorable for our family. Invokes the memory of a time we can only imagine, transports us back to that time through sound image silence
Absolutely beautiful song
I just love love this song sends chills down my spine. Simply majestic. And the movie is fanfriggingtastic.
Same
One of my favorite movies of all time and I loved the scene that this song was sung as a kid.
If this song doesn´t moves you, then you gotta have a stone heart
I hated this film as a child. My dad made me watch it with him and I never understood it. 30 years later this film gets me every time..the ending when the mother recognises her broken child get me right in the feelings
Read the English translation for this song and watch that end sequence and it will all come together. The brilliance of this went over so many people's heads.
You were young and it's completely understandable not liking the film at first, but it's wonderful to know you gave it another go to discover what a glorious gem this movie is.
I saw this movie when I was 14 and it instantly became my favorite of all Spielberg's films and certainly in my top 5 favorite movies of all time.
One of the greatest films in the History of Cinema. Spielberg reduced everything he learned in this Masterpiece!
Such a moving film, cried my eyes out at the end!😭💖
What a beautiful song, make tears in my eyes!!!
Es simplemente impresionante esta hermosa canción, me hace recordar cuando era niño y vi por primera vez este film, evito no llorar al escucharla...saludos.
The war was terrible and sad
This movie is absolutely. Brillaint
One sometimes wonders how the directors do this .. A mazerpiece
And What a great song
You can watch this over and over
Great work Christian

@@jefffiddler6814 It is, indeed, in the video's description box.
