I once watched this scene on mute (dont remember why) and the part where the camera switches between the pen and Lecter's face TOOK FOREVER!! you could cut the tension with a knife, shows you how great the camerawork is, you dont even need any audio, just the zooms and Hopkin's expression ("You will regret this, cant look forward to having you for dinner!")

Despite being cuffed and muzzled and restrained, Dr. Hannabal was in complete control of the situation. Saw the pen as a potential weapon to kill at the first opportunity. Shows you how dangerous and manipulative he really is.

Thomas Wayne is a great dad. Doesn't ignore his son or brush it off. He can almost immediately tell there's something wrong. He doesn't even ask why or even ask to repeat himself. When he tells Martha to go, he comes up with a reason why he wants to go, sparing his son embarrassment. Be like Thomas Wayne.

Anyone else curious about how Hannibal managed to steal Chilton's pen? I mean he was in a straitjacket while secured to some kind of hand truck with his head immobile. How did he get a hold of it especially in the few seconds he was alone before the guards came in to wheel him out to bring him to meet the senator.

Barney was always respectful towards hannibal which did lead to him not going after Barney after he escaped. Too bad for Chilton.

The movie was so captivating that I forgot about everything else.

The first time I saw this film in the theater I staggered out of the theater. The acting, the cinematography and the amazing score were overwhelming.

It's amazing once again how also Anthony Hopkins was so calm like he is in real life for a Welsch actor. But they're like thr British, a lot of them are very poised. Not to again be prejudice.
