Hello from beautiful B.C. 🇨🇦
I like the straight needles
I like circle needles
@@irenemacleod5140 me too
@@vilajones8625 I have not tried the circulars yet. My needle order comes in tomorrow!!!!!
I'm a 67 yr old man who just took up knitting, and I love it. My wife needlepoints, and I knit - our evenings together with a good British murder mystery on TV in the background while we knit & needlepoint are sublime. But this is the scariest thing I've ever seen in my life. I can't imagine ever getting to this level. Please tell me I'm over thinking it. 😮
You are definitely over thinking this!! You can definitely do this. Just knits and pulls. As Arne says.....after a couple of rows you will have it. And good for you!! Your evenings do sound sublime!!
You can do it! You just take each step one at a time. After a few rows, you'll get the hang of it. This is one of the best tutorials ever! Because the project is a pot holder, there is limited investment (as opposed to a long scarf).
You're overthinking it. It's just colorwork with one color held in front sometimes.
You are never too old to learn something new, so go for it! What is the risk? After a few needles if you can’t get the hang of it you can put it aside. And if it goes well, good for you!
That is such a pretty potholder! Thank you. Wonderful tutorial.
Hi Arne and Carlos! My favourite Prym needles are the circular ergonomic needles.
You two always find a way to make me giggle. In this video Carlos is like the train driver that is piloting the train down the track, ensuring that we get all the information that we need so that we don’t miss our stop. Meanwhile, Arne is giving a tutorial in the First Class car and sees a squirrel! I’ve said this before, but I love how you work with each other’s strengths. ❤
Love it.
Arne! This was the best tutorial you’ve ever made! Carlos! Your comments and questions along the way really enhanced my understanding of Arne’s demonstration. I have cast on and have met with immediate success. Who knew I could learn double knitting so quickly. Thank you!
Say, how do I use the emogies?
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I’m in the middle of a double knitting pot holder I started at a double knitting workshop and Arne’s way of doing the stitches is so much better than the way I was doing it. I think the next half is going to be so much easier. ❤❤ I love the Prym DPNs. Thank you Prym for such a generous prize.
I love the Prym needles - they fit the hand really well, very comfortable. I'd say my favorite is the double points, but that was a difficult choice!
I have always felt a bit daunted by double knitting but I think I'll give this a go. Your explanation was so clear Arne, thank you. I love using Prym ergonomic circulars as they're so comfortable. Also, a side benefit is the pale colour, which makes it really easy to knit dark yarn in the evening!
I actually love Prym knitting needles, circular and dpns, I also love their crochet hooks. I have been teaching my daughter to knit and crochet, she’s 31 and suffers with IIH (a condition causing severe migraines which mimics a brain tumour), anyway, she is living learning and so, if I was lucky enough I would gift them to her. She loves your designs, Arne and Carlos, and she is soon to become an Aunt for the first time (and I a grandmother, Jan ‘24), so she is eager to put them to good use. Thank you again for your inspiration, I love Julekhulering 😊 this time of year . On my way now to liking and subscribing to Prym - thank you 😊
Prym knitting needles were a novelty here in the US for a very long time. I’m glad they are now available. In any event, I enjoy using all their products, I am particularly fond of the cables on the circular needles.
Hello my Friends, Lovely video! If I had to choose a favorite between my Prym DPNS and my Prym circulars, I couldn’t. If I had to say which ones I use most often, I would say that I use my DPNS most often. The projects I am working dictates the needle used. I make more socks than anything else and for socks I like to use DPNS. I absolutely use DPNS more than circulars, but I really love both types of needles. Happy Knitting 🙂👍
I'm a 61 yr. old loom knitter and I love double knitting images!! I just love this pattern! Thanks so much for sharing this free pattern. I'll be able to have this done in a day's time on the loom. I'm so excited!! Thanks again ❤❤❤
Your cozy atmosphere and kind demeanor are why I watch your UA-cam. I will never be able to learn any of these techniques but that does not stop me from getting so much out of my time watching your shows. You are both kind and smart and that makes for great entertainment!
I enjoy double knitting. A couple of years ago I knitted a thick "mug rug" coaster in double knitting for a friend's Christmas present in red and white yarns, using an eight-petal rose chart design similar to the one Arne has worked. It turned out great, and I was proud of learning the double knitting technique on my own. Double knitting is not hard, but you really have to keep your mind on what you're doing every step of the way. I call it a mind bender.
I love the idea of a "mug rug" made with double knitting. Brilliant. I think I'll give it a go. Thanks for sharing!
@@joannsteinly5325 Glad you're thinking about knitting a mug rug. It's also a nice idea to include a mug, if it's a gift. And to go further, include a bag of special coffee.
I'm 70 and absolutely love watching you both on UA-cam. My favorite needles are the dpn but I use the circular needles a lot for hats. Prym needles in the Arne Carlos package are the ones I wish I had .
WOW! that is complicated, but I am going to give it a try. Thanks for the challenge. Arne, you make it look so easy. I used the Prym double pointed needles when making the Christmas Balls and loved them. The ball-like tip made picking up the yarn so easy especially for a beginner. Congratulation, on your needle sets from Prym.
Prym needles are easy on my hands because they are lightweight and supple. I enjoy them, too, because they are white. I first learned about Prym needles from Arne and Carlos several years ago. I also love Prym’s little tubular hand crank knitting tool for using up yarn scraps.
Whoa! I'm not sure I am up for double knitting. What I am sure of is that I love the Prym Crochet hooks and double pointed needles. I have never knit with the Prym Circular needles. The cowl is gorgeous!! I think the box that you designed is beautiful with the Arne and Carlos touch. Thanks for sharing the potholder pattern with us.
This was a great refresher on Double Knitting. I think back to the class I took from you at Vogue Knitting NYC many years ago. We have certainly advanced from there following our hearts and spirit. My Arne&Carlos needles are scheduled to arrive tomorrow so along with the KAL, this year’s Christmas Balls, the cowl and the potholder there will be no sleeping at my house. Prym Ergonomics are the very bestest needles ever. Shirley
I discovered you guys a week ago and have been hooked! I've learned how to Norwegian knit from your tutorial and it's changing my knitting life! Thank you for sharing so many tips on knitting. I would love prym circular needles!
I love the ergonomic needles ....oh wait i love the Arne & Carlos needles - love love them !!
I love that pattern. My favorite Prym's are the white ergonomic circulars, I find them very comfortable to use. See you Sunday !
I love the double pointed needles :) so good for new knitters!
I love the ergonomic prim needles. I have arthritis in my hands and the shape of the needles are easier to knit with and prevent any soreness or numbness ... The Prim company and both Arne and Carlos are great
I love their double pointed and circular needles! Love you both and have learned so much from you both in knitting, creativity and about Norway😍. And I grew up in a community in northern Minnesota that was mostly comprised of Swedish, Finnish and Norwegian folks so I am familiar with some customs and the foods of this region!
I like the Prym ergonomic circular needles because they are lightweight, and easy to slide under the yarn!🪶🧶
Hi there I'm Michelle. I've been subscribed to your channel and watched your videos for years now!. My grandmother taught me how to crochet and knit when I was 8 years old. I love to teach anyone that wants to learn. I've only been knitting for a few years now. Your videos have helped me so much! I'd love to try Prym's Circular knitting needles. Thank-You both for all that you do for the community!
Hi. I bought a pair of Pryms straight knitting with the ball at the tip. I thought it was strange but they worked I would enjoy using these needles in my projects. I’ve been knitting and crocheting for over 50 years. It’s fun! Thank you!!
❤ A beautiful pattern and a great project to learn on. I so enjoyed your episode. I am teaching myself double knitting …. lots of swatching for now. I am so pleased that we can now get Prym circular needles where I live. The circular needles are what I use. I also really, really like the Prym bendable cable needle. All the best, Joyce
I’m a circular needle fan, even using two circulars to knit my socks.
And thank you for the pattern! It’s beautiful!
Cannot wait to see your blanket, Arne!
I often use two circulars too, but am forcing myself to learn DPN too. It does make keeping track of the pattern easier!
Arne&Carlos, thanks for sharing this beautiful knit. The Prym needles are looking gorgeous. Every time I need something for knitting or sewing I always look for the famous Prym quality. My mother taught me that, if something is good it’s Worth paying for it; cheap is sometimes robbing yourself because you struggle more with those products. Good tools are just worth it! My favourites are Circular needles, learned to do knitting like Arne does, the Norwegian knitting is better for ergonomic knitting.
Hi! I'm a 62 year old woman and i love to knit and crochet. I have 2 Prym circular needles in US size 6 and size 8. I learned to knit in 5th grade but took up crochet in7th grade and didn't look back at knitting for 20 or more years. Now I'm relea4ning how to knit as well as also attempting to teach myself continental style as i learned English style it stuck. But i love my 2 Prym neeedles and have both engaged in projects right now. I hope your holidays will be very merry and bright!
Yours as well!
My daughter and I love the Prym 32” circular needles in size US 8 (5mm)! We knit baby blankets for family and for the neonatal unit at the hospital where she works. She works nights in the ER and some are slow, so when she is at desk she can knit and teach a little on her breaks. These needles are perfect for achey fingers and easy to sterilize ( must for the Emergency room)!
Hi Arne and Carlos! My favourite Prym needles are the circular ergonomic needles. Vielen Dank für dieses Video und die sehr gute Anleitung. Jetzt werde ich das Gelernte gleich ausprobieren. Danke für die kostenlose Anleitung 🥰🥰
I have never had the pleasure of using Prym needles, I have been using my grandmother’s needles that I inherited at her passing many of which are difficult to use as they were inexpensive and the plastic of the circular needles are stiff (and sometimes failing). I look forward to trying my hand at double knitting this winter.❤
I was did not think I would like the Prym needles when I first saw them in the USA. But I found that I actually love working with them. I generally use circular needles.
Hi Arne and Carlos, the double knitted blocks would make excellent blocks for an afghan or blanket.
I use Prym needles whenever I can. The circular needles are my favorite.
I love the Prym double pointed for knitting the Christmas balls.
Hi Guys, I am loving double knitting - currently double knitting a baby blanket for my grandson using animals i have graphed up and some from the sit and knit group on facebook. I have loved doing the double knit after watching your tutorials while i was house bound with Covid.
I love the Prym ergonomic circular needles. I learned about them from your channel and asked my niece to bring them for me from Luxembourg. Unfortunately they are not available to buy in Egypt 😮. I love the triangular cross section which helps slide the knitting. The bulb art the tip makes our easy to hold the stitches close without sliding off.
What a great tutorial. My favorite Prym needles to use are the circular needles.
Hello everyone, since I discovered how comfortable it is to knit with circular needles, I do not use the traditional long needles, often heavy and slippery... Prym Ergonomics needles are at the top, and can be used in airplanes because they are made of plastic material. I also love the carbon double pointed little needles, to knit little things. Thanks for your videos always interesting. And love from a french addict knitter !
I live in US and have never tried Prym needles. Thanks for chance to win a beautiful pkg of circular needles. Thank you for the tutorial.
It is so much fun to watch the human knitting machine at work. Thank you Arne…
I have tried Prym’s double pointed, they are very nice. Thank you for your lovely banter. I am going to make this pattern for gifts next year. This year is finishing up sweaters. 💕
I love, prym and circular are my passion♥️😊🇨🇦
I love the double knit pattern and Prym needles. Difficult to get the special edition needles here in US. I would be overjoyed to win a special set of the circular needles! I’ve started making more Christmas balls for the season. I use double points for those. So love all types of needles. Thank for the free pattern and instructions. ❤
I may have the courage to finally try Double Knitting with this cute potholder recipe! I've only ever heard glowing reviews about Prym but haven't tried them yet myself! The double point ergonomic needles are about to be added to my shopping basket soon!
I know absolutely nothing about Prym needles except the DPNs we got from you on a cruise. I do like those. Would love to fall in love with a new needle. Hint, Hint. Great tutorial as usual and can't wait to try the new pattern. I have learned so much from all your tutorials and I'm always telling people,"Arne and Carlos have a tutorial on that." Thanks for everything.
I like both Pym ergonomic circular needles and double pointed needles, for each is good for different purposes, also I especially like their good design and good quality. I must say I enjoy watching your videos a lot, I learned a lot from your channel. Thank you!
Prym curculars are the best design on the market!
My favourite Prym needles are the circular ones. I must give double knitting a try.❤
As a knitter in the US, I've never used Prym needles - but I do love circulars!
I’m currently making Arne & Carlos Christmas balls using my Prym DPNs. My first knitting needle purchase was from Prym when you announced the ergonomic DPN. I ordered several sets and they are my go to.
I also used these DPNs to make the mittens from your MDK Field Guide. I have several sets of DPNs and circular sets. I ordered the wooden circulars and the carbon fiber DPNs after your Prym announcement. It would be so special to receive needles from the two of you. I’m heading over now to subscribe to Prym!
Happy Holidays and lots of love to you both ❤
I love the Prym circular needles! 🐑❤🐑
Hi Arne and Carlos, I really love both circulars and double needles, What I loved the most is the tip of the needles. As always happy to watch your videos! Abrazos desde Michigan
I recently discovered Prym needles from your channel, and I love them! I’m a fairly inexperienced knitter, but they have allowed me to get into knitting with double pointed needles. Thanks!
I love the Prym’s circular needles, they are so versatile!
Thank you.
Love the double knit pattern
I have never tried Prym needles. I have heard only good thinks about them. Thank you for the free pattern, it is beautiful. I never thought of using wool as a potholes, great idea. I was thinking only cotton. Take care. Heading over to the Prym channel now.
Ok, I love watching you two… I am a quilter. I found myself going to the website to look at the needles you designed. I don’t even know how to knit, I was looking at them and started laughing. I guess I could use them to decorate for Christmas. I have a quilting tree with notions! Thanks for your great content, you have beautiful taste, style and pleasant personalities! Thank you very much. Blessings to you both this holiday season and best wishes for a healthy and happy 2024.
I love Prym needles, I love to knit with Circular and dpns depending on the project. Lovely pot holder boys.
I love the circular Prym needles. The two pair I have are my go to. They do help my hands not get tierd so quickly. I would love the sets you are offering. Thank you for the pot holder pattern. It is beautiful and can't wait to try double knitting. A new technique for me.
My favorite are circulars - I love being able to leave my project and not worry about the work falling off the needles.
Beautiful pattern Arne and Carlos. I like the circular needles. Magic loop is my jam
I love the circular needles. I particularly like the tips so stitches stay on needles better.
Thank you for this, both the pattern and the tutorial. I’ve been thinking of learning to do double knitting for a while, and now I have the perfect project! I also have the perfect yarn in my stash, two colors of your yarn from Rowan. I have been communicating with the people at the website that (I hope) will eventually carry your Prym circulars, because my favorite needles (not just from Prym, but of ALL my needles) are the Prym carbon double pointed needles I got on your cruise. I would absolutely love to have ones like it, but in circulars, so I can knit larger things, like sweaters, with them. So far they are not available in the USA, so winning this competition would be a dream come true. Now I’m off to check out Prym’s UA-cam channel…
To be honest-- I love all of Prym needles and even some of their other items. If I have to pick -- I really like the 6” DPN’s.
Hi, you introduced me to the Prym ergonomic needles which have been great to use. Have really enjoyed your patterns, both free and paid for. Love the podcasts, thank you for thtime and effort that goes into these.
I have been looking forward to trying double knit for several years. A friend bought a book of yours and described it as these two cute Norwegian guys. I was teaching her to knit, and she wondered if she could make the double knitted heart coaster in the book. Next thing I knew, I was completely hooked on your channel. I like all the Prym needles I have tried so far. Though you know from the Svalbard cruise that my family is very good at loosing them. I would love to get colors other than white and black DPNs, because I generally do color work with a dark and light yarn.
I haven't had the pleasure of using Prym needles, but have admired them from afar watching your channel. I don't use double points that much, circular needles are my favorites.
Your Cowl pattern is Beautiful, also the pot holder. Up to this point I have not done any double knitting, but would love to try, I agree with Carlos, it does look complicated. Thank you for the chance to win this lovely giveaway.
Lovely project! Looking forward to trying it. I like Prym’s double pointed bamboo needles and the long needles that click together. ❤
I have actually never knitted with Prym needles, but would love to try! Love the ergonomic hooks. And know I will definitely give double knitting a try, lovely pattern!
I love Prym’s circular and double pointed needles. I used the double pointed needles for the Christmas ball ornaments ❤❤
This pattern is so beautiful! To make a blanket with his pattern is such a terrific idea! Can’t wait to get started.
I like knitting with the 24” and 32” Ergonomic circular Pryms. They are lightweight, easy on my elderly hands and the cord has no memory so stays flexible with no kinks or loops to fight with or have to steam away. Your double knitted potholder is nice. I may just make that one. Thank you for the pattern.
I love Prym needles, especially the circulars. The stitches don’t slip off!
Love their ergonomic double pointed. I bought then after watching another video from Arne and Carlos and they feel so much better on my hands when I knits.
Fabulous pattern and such a clear tutorial, takk!! Be well, Sally 🌹
Really enjoyed this. Don't knit much but sore am willing to learn how to do this. Very nice project, Thank you both. I have watched you off and on for several years.
Hello Arne and Carlos, My favourite Prym needles are the ergonomic circular ones. I just loved this video demonstration of double knitting. I had never heard of it before. Because of your videos I've learnt Norwegian purl, so I'm pretty sure I can do double knitting. Can't wait to try! Thank you so much.
I like to use the Prym crochet needles. I would like to try the Prym circular knitting needles. Thanks, Arne and Carlos for the tutorial!🎉❤
I love the double pointed needles so much, I got the crochet set. I just learned how to crochet because I love your floral crochet blankets so much.
I love the Prym ergonomic double points for making vests! ❤ They are easy to grip and make my knitting more relaxing.
Prym are great needles to use. I love the circular needles the most.
Your potholder pattern is wonderful. Great idea for this holidday season. Love the tutorial. Thanks so much for the give away plans. Very generous of Prym too. I love their circular needles but also have tried the ergonomic double points with happy knitting experience.
I am most impressed with my Prym double points. I have arthritis and I like the way they fit into my hands. Thanks for the video & pattern!
I really enjoy the prim, circular knitting needles. I enjoy the design of the prim knitting needles, and I hope to get some more one day.
My favorite needles are the circular ones....thank you for the refresher tutorial and gift idea.
Hi Arne and Carlos! Prym Double pointed needles! I love DPN's knitting socks is the most fun! I want to try double knotting but it is a little intimidating!
hey ! i never won anything material yet, let´s see if you bring me luck this time. Prym is clearly the best quality i ever used. For all needle work as well as the knittings..prefer the long school straight needles if possible to be used for a project .🤟TNX for the free scandic pattern, very much like it and it gets saved together with the xmas balls patterns collection of the past years ! tried them all already. xxx
Wowzers! Thank You for this free pattern! I’ve never done double knitting before and I’m eager to try! It’s such a lovely pattern and the perfect project for learning this technique! I’ve never used Prym Knitting Needles, but I bet the circulars used here, make it a breeze! Thanks boys & thank you Prym!
I used the prym double pointed needles when i started knitting. It just gives the right bit of resistance needed when you are trying to figure out what to purl or knit. Will always remain in my stash for when i start with new patterns and techniques
Yes please! I've never tried Prym needles so that would be great to win.
I absolutely love knitting on circular needles. I have been a knitter for 40 plus years and converted to circular recently and its such a game changer for me. I love your channel, just wish you could come to Australia soon ❤❤
Prym needles are great! It’s hard to choose which are my favorite…I love the circular needles and the carbon double pointed.
Prym circular had been my first knitting needels, they have still a warm place in my heart. I like the ergonomics for lace knitting. - I had subscribed for Prym youtube channel already, I hope that counts too 😊 Btw: I grow up near Prym in Stolberg, Germany 😃
I love the new pattern! So pretty as always. I like the ergonomic circular needles from Prym. I had to try them since they have the Arne and Carlos stamp of approval 😉
I actually have been using Prym needles for a long time. The ergonomic dpns are the ones I use the most because mittens and hats are my favorite things to knit.
Now I'm tempted to finally try double knitting! These Prym circular needles would be perfect to attempt this method! At the moment, I am enjoying my double pointed Prym needles! ❤
You should give it a go, we have other tutorials on our channel site as well.
I love circular needles. They are lighter for those of us with joint issues. Arne, your instructions were spot on! Thank you!
Your Prym package is so scrape book worthy (my scrape book). Pryms ergonomic needles are so comfortable for us older knitters and really help me to teach newbies because the ends stop stitches from falling off easily. Love, love love them. Continue to bring inspiration to us!
