Like you said, I’m not sure how well this translates to pocket passer QBs. Typically the kind of players who rupture achilles are RBs, WRs or linemen. I haven’t heard of a QB suffering an Achilles before Rodgers or Cousins. I’m sure his scrambling will take a hit, but so long as his brain and his arm still work, I think he can do damage if our line holds up.

lol you guys arent going to make any noise. your defense is going to fall off. still be good. your line is still a huge question mark, the odds of tyron staying healthy a full season and into the post season is highly unlikely, moses is ehh. i think you guys are heavily overrated and its gonna b funny AF when yall dont make the play offs.

My old boss was signed as a D1 linebacker. He tore his Achilles senior year of high school and then had to play D2. This was the mid 90s but it took him months to be able to even walk again.

This narrative that Rodgers has/is going to fall off is strange. His last full season in GB, he put up a stat line that most QBs would consider a solid season. And he did it missing his all-pro LT, with a broken thumb, throwing to a bunch of mid-round rookie WRs.
I am just not sure how you can bet against a guy who’s been dominant at his position for two decades

    • @willielopes8878

He had better numbers that year than mahomes had last year as well.

    • @masonboard
      @masonboard 24 дні тому +1

@@willielopes8878 you’re not wrong. People blame Mahomes’ interception numbers last year on his receivers, yet fail to realize that Rodgers has never thrown 14 interceptions in a year. Never
Rodgers has thrown double-digit interceptions in 3 out of 14 full seasons starting. Mahomes has thrown double-digit interceptions in 4 out of 6 seasons starting
Mahomes is great, there’s no doubt about that. But I would bet a decent amount of money that you’ll never see him have a 48TD, 5INT season. Especially at the age of 37
Does any of this matter when Mahomes has three times the number of rings? Probably not, it’s just odd to see people still sleeping on who I firmly believe is the most talented QB to ever sling it

The only issue is that we see players perform at a similarly elite level and completely fall off a cliff, especially considering Rodgers’ age

@@masonboardwas the most talented to sling it before mahomes, all those regular season interception stats are great but mahomes has better playoff numbers. He's not as great as mahomes is high leverage situations, end of discussion.

As far as playing just as well it makes a difference what position you look at. Aaron is more likely to perform well compared to Lamar Jackson or Derrick Henry.

Fucking bullshit how the better team lost that game so pissed the niners would have won if greenlaw played the entire game
It’s not the same as the chiefs not having thuney. They KNEW THAT GOING into the game so they prepared for it.
The niners LOSING the linebacker duo in the first half CHANGED THE WAY the game went no doubt about it. Injuries mid game are different than heading into, especially in a critical player position like greenlaw
The degenerate Kelce celebrates in the end 😑

With QB I think the risk/reward is bad. If a #1 WR, TE or RB has an Achilles injury, you can sign or draft another and if the player returns to form great and if not you have your replacement. But if you sign Kirk Cousins to a huge contract, and trade up to draft a QB and then Cousins is fine you can't play both QBs.

I just don't see this as that relevant beyond there being a likelihood that he gets reinjured. QB is so wildly different from the other positions, and you said yourself not one of those players was a QB. That fact alone makes those stats meaningless.

I mean it’s true they never come back the same, you only get affected by it if you rely on athleticism for Rodgers he’s going to be just fine. Imo an ACL injury is much more worst when it comes to football, an Achilles injury is mostly on the mental side and players who get it are on the end of their careers. It’s an overrated injury tbh.

I still predict Rodgers to retire in June-July that's the best time for him to do so, after the draft, after the 2nd wave of post draft FA, and before the season. There will be nothing else to talk about except Rodgers' retirement for months. That's what's best for Aaron Rodgers

The big problem with Aaron Rodgers is his age.....now 40 years old!!!!!!!!!
Rodgers is now an official resident of....Old Geezer Land
Does Old Geezer Rodgers have anything left in the tank?...Will one of his legs fall off?
Will Rodgers look like Tom Brady in his last season? If Rodgers takes another 'Darkness Retreat' will he continually miss the toilet while taking a whiz?
These are the BIG problems facing Rodgers this season.
