I feel like it comes down to a few factors. Do you like the guy available to you? Do you like the options for the next draft? How much of a leash do you have? Ultimately if you don’t think as a coach and gm you have the leeway to have an off year or two you might as well take the chance with a QB. But there can be value to building a good team then getting the QB to lead it if your owner is willing to be patient. Now if you think your guy is in the current draft then you take him and take your chances.

Long suffering Jets fan here. Let’s see now, Mark Sanchez, Geno Smith, Sam Darnold and Zach Wilson. Sanchez had a great running attack, and managed two wild card appearances. The rest had bad coaching, mediocre to bad O-line play, and a lack of playmakers. Question answered.

My issue is Carolina is doing Bryce the same way they did cam like over the years we are just not learning our lessons and it’s frustrating, Cam never had OL or WR help and now we expect Bryce to just play hero ball enough is enough, Tepper you need to step up and nut up

If they're a 1st round pick and their best quality is being NFL ready, they should be able to jump in to any NFL roster and produce as it's expected from a 1st rounder. Otherwise the pick would be better used getting the help they would need. Now of course being "NFL ready" is the worse crock of bs that evaluators and pundits use to pump low ceiling dudes with no upside.

I'm ok with teams that give up an average of around 40-45 sacks a season. It's the teams racing above 50 treating their QBs that worry me.
I'm sure someone will get upset, but the worst 11 teams in “sacks allowed” need to find a way not to put their QBs on Hospis.

Even if they hit on every pick this season they are still drafting in the top five next season. Unless they just love the Qb at 3 this year I would trade back. Just don't trade to my Raiders because after Williams at 1 I don't think any of these QBs are worth a top 10 pick

Stroud went to the worst team in the league and make chicken salad out of chicken shit. A good QB has to elevate the team around him
