Crimping the little connectors can be a PIA. I’ve found the knipex pliers wrench to be the best crimping tool. The smooth jaws and the leverage are unmatched. I saw someone on UA-cam crushing the edge of coins with them and I had some cheap connectors that the insulation was breaking using the crimp tool when squeezing hard enough to crush the barrel. The flat doesn’t cut the insulation and you won’t get a more secure crimp with less hand fatigue and being able to use the tip to crimp in tight spaces with little wire to work with

Use some weather strip adhesive on the rubber and slide it into the socket
