Also struggles hard with the snow pack at the end of the drive way pushed there by the plow... Especially if there are big ice chunks it can't do anything with those except spin them around in place a bit. As long as the snow is still loose and fluffy it does great though. I'm not sure anything other than a gas snowblower or a regular shovel would deal with the hard ice chunks at the end of a driveway well.
9:10 The metal core handle is definitely better but I think getting a shoulder strap accessory would help a lot to take the load off of the arms. I am waiting for mine to come in.
Yep, good point. A shoulder strap would definitely help out big time
I saw this video of yours a while back, and I, too, share the love for the snap on ratcheting screwdrivers. I already have 3, but I ended up winning an eBay auction for the full set just as you bought. It is by far one of Snap-On’s most useful products, and certainly my most used hand tool.
I’ve gifted a couple since this video. It’s such a versatile item and it’s still my favorite Snap On tool. Enjoy your recent auction win!
Greetings... Totally agree = Do NOT rob Peter to Pay Paul! So, I see 3 things that you need to add: Locking Pliers, A light and most definitely some kind of "Persuader" AKA - Hammer 👍
All good picks, and since you say it I do have extra locking pliers that I could throw in there. Will do!
I have the same setup. Took the aerator out cleaned it but it seems that some of the holes behind it still leak. Any suggestions?
How’s the o ring? May need to be replaced and/or just go for a new aerator, they’re cheap. Can also clean the faucet itself. Put some white vinegar and baking soda in a cup and hold that up so as to emerge the faucet itself
@HeyDerFolks ok I'll ch e ck and thank you
I dont keep 💩 in my truck
Whatever works!
We need more snap on videos :)
Working on it! Though, after this next haul unboxing I fear I don’t have many unboxing left. I feel like I have everything I need at this point. Any tools you’d recommend that I haven’t covered yet? Note, I have other snap on video ideas for future videos, just not unboxings per se
The strapping is weird; the wall plates are designed to be fastened flat against the wall surface.
Weird as in aesthetic or weird as in functionally worse of?
Bravo
A battery needs to bev tested under a load or reading tells you nothing...
An update would be welcomed...I just picked the Milwaukee set and think I will be quite happy! I have a large Snap On toolbox with many tools and I will say that we are all living in a fantastic "tool-time" because 30 plus years ago our options were much more limited compared to now...IMO
Embarrassment of riches to say the least!
Keep the hard case on the first aid kit. All zippers will eventually fail, you don’t want it to fail when you need the kit in an emergency. Take out the ratchet straps, roll them up, and put two thick rubber bands going opposite direction over them ….cleaner, neater and less bothersome bags to deal with.
We miss your snap on content - come back
Every tool has their base. But no thank you on HF tools. I dont fix lawn mowers. I tried but those rings on the Icon had me returning 2 sets already. They were my wifes tools so i bought her some gear wrench.
Love how you keep it real, not trying to he over serious but being honest true to yourself
Appreciate the kind words, Daniel. Just trying my best!
so i can’t put rgb light bulbs in 😢
I don’t see why not…
I have to call you out on this one, the Snap On dealer did not steal your money, you were seen on camera running behind the truck until you caught it and you threw the money at him in exchange for some awesome Snap On tools!!! LOL
Ha, something like that!
Good lord every price you said made my wallet shudder!!! lmao
I’m in Buffalo and the rep that comes to us is trash. He’s only been in the business for a couple years, but I fully expect him to meet the 5 year statistic of small business failures. You’re lucky to have a good rep.
Good service makes all the difference. Go Bills
I have a full set of Snap On tools, buy as you go, it is not hard to have a very nice full set of Snap On tools that way. My current tool inventory is 95% Snap On 5% MAC, Matco, Cornwell, KD, Lisle, AST and some other specialty tools. Oh and my tools are all paid for.
Nice!
first person I have seen that put rachet straps in. Do other people not use their trucks for truck things.
Right?! They’re easily the thing I use the most
Snap On is a cult.
Been a professional mechanic for years. I have one snap on tool and the only reason I have it is because someone gave it to me. I rarely use wrenches any more and when I do it’s a ratcheting wrench. 95% of my work gets done with my $100 Milwaukee electric ratchet.
My entire suburban is my EDC kit. No seriously my bug out plan is just simply getting in and going.
Whatever works!
@HeyDerFolks it's pretty much my only option, age + broken stuff. I'm smart enough to know there is no 20 mile hikes with gear anymore, reality is a midget on the juice and he's swinging a baseball bat.
And to think back in 99, I was in HS and had $2,000. My grandpa took me unto the snapon truck. I got a used full size box, sae metric wrenches, sockets in 1/4 3/8 1/2 full sets deep shallow screwdriver set, plier set, punches, hammers set. Today that box is full. I'm just a diyer.
Those were the days!
Good stuff!
Thanks!
stud buddy for the win, i love that thing... and i hate every other stud finder i've ever owned...
I feel the same way! I never had much luck with the electronic stud finders
Be sure to make it area/climate specific. I live in Florida. If it snows here, life itself comes to a halt. However, hat, gloves, blanket, etc. definitely. The battery jumper, MUST BE FULLY, 100% CHARGED. 95%is not close enough, voice of experience.
Agreed. Don’t pack just to pack, make sure it’s useful!
👍😎👍 12/14/24
Tarp, Getting under the car to shovel or put kitty litter down it would be nice to have a tarp. Flares and a reflective vest, orange rag to tie to antenna or stick in case of sliding off the road for ID. Towel to clean up or brush off the snow. Items can be stored under the mat or around spare if in trunk. Just thoughts.
Great video! While I also love my SO socks, if your wife needed to change socks in an emergency, you might want to go with wool socks: When wet, cotton kills. Keep up the great material!
Learned a hard lesson about cotton socks at a recent outdoor sporting event. My boots were tied tight and my feet were actually sweating, but it was so cold that my cotton socks were also freezing. Had to change socks at the midway point. Definitely need more wool in the collection
If your wife is like mine, she’s not appreciative until she needs it!
👍😎👍
Good kit. Since you asked, I'd add a full-sized axe, more lighting options, some reflective vests, and additional warm hats, gloves, and goggles.
Appreciate the feedback, Doc. I’m going to add a Silky saw, tarp, and reflective vest. I also need to get her some emergency lighting
2k for a wrench set! Dam I feel like an Idiot with my $50 wrench set and a paid off house, absolutely zero debt and money in the bank.
Remember, what I buy doesn't impact you any more than what you buy impacts me. Cheers
My boss always said when a contractor rolled in with ultra premium tools that he was probably either a thief, a fool or both.
Well I didn't steal them, so that does make me a......😩
Been a tech for over 25 years, for the pro there are definitely tools that I don't screw around with and buy from Mac or Snap-on. For me it depends how many times a day I use the tool vs how specialty a tool it is. My wrenches are all flank drive, sockets all Mac and they never have let me down. For tools that get beaten on or one's that don't get used much I try to find the best of the rest to save money. My box is a Maximizer and the drawers are smooth as glass compared to the cheap box I had before, also don't over look the 24" depth of a box, makes all the difference in storage. For the DIYer only you can decide if a $2000 wrench set will be a value over something like the Icon set (which is very good). Searching pawn shops and buying used is great as Mac and Snap-on have warranties that make the used purchase a no brainer. Good luck on the box search.
Thanks, still looking for the box 😅...someday. Appreciate your perspective on buying quality. Cheers
Buy this shovel
Did you find that throwing the snow forward (no ability to throw it to the side) was limiting?
Great question, Andy, and perhaps something I should've covered in the video. For my use cases of the deck and dock where i'm throwing the snow "off" something and the range of throw exceeds the length of the dock/deck, what you're describing is a feature. I've seen videos where folks are doing long sidewalks, however, and its not a feature because it just means you have to work over the same snow multiple times. In those cases I saw people angle the machine to the side and have success, though I did not have to do that. Hope this helps
I've used it many times for 2 years now. There is a trick to it. You want to angle it towards where you want the snow to go and slide it diagonally instead of straight ahead. It works best when you don't try to use it like a shovel or a snowblower. A lot of the bad reviews are from people that use it like a shovel and only go straight ahead with it which will blow snow all over where you have been before. you want to point it away from where you have already cleared and push the whole shovel in a line DIAGONALLY so you are still taking a square path but you are throwing the snow to where you haven't been. When the wind blows the snow back in your face, just angle it deeper diagonally towards where you haven't been yet. Do it right and it will never put snow where you have been before or back in your face. I think the most I have ever had to point it was about 45 degrees to the left/right of walking path, in the opposite direction of where I have been before and that's with the wind blowing right into my face. Then you put it right into your armpit and just walk it around at that angle and you can clear an entire driveway in no time. Sure that reduces how much snow goes in a bit on each pass but it works really well even in up to 6" deep snow and you don't need to repeat the same spot you have already done. Works great with some practice. But definitely for me carrying it around is a huge pain in the elbows and I'm investing in a shoulder harness that I'm waiting for. It is definitely heavy. When you put it into your armpit and hold it like a shotgun pointed at the ground, and grab the handle with the other arm, it will cross in front of you and naturally angle in a direction away from the path you are walking which is exactly what you want and that direction needs to be pointed away from where you have been before.
You don't even put the model in the description. Disappointing.
Sorry about that, here is what I bought RYOBI Expand-It 12 in. Snow Shovel - www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI-Expand-It-12-in-Snow-Shovel-RYSNW00/303366003
This was finally the review for this unit I was waiting for as I am considering purchasing it to clear my deck. What are your observations or thoughts when using it on a composite deck? Do you think this will damage or cut the boards in comparison to just using a shovel? Thanks again for this review!
Glad this video found the right audience! As for the composite question, the dock in my video uses composite deck boards and so far it seems fine. The only thing riding on the deck boards is the plastic which shouldn't scratch, and in my usage we're throwing the top 95% of the snow cover so the unit was never fully riding on the deck boards themselves.
I think it’s cool af!
Thanks! I had a lot of fun with it
We definitely want that shirt❤
I appreciate your support! Will work on it
Rig up a shoulder strap to hook to it. I did that with my weed whacker.
I love the machine can’t wait to try it myself
WOW, LOOK, it's a $1300.00 wrench set...!!!!
🤔
What diameter did you use for the whole fire pit area? And the fire pit itself? Planning to build one myself in the next few weeks!
Full breakdown here: ua-cam.com/video/CgUleahrnS0/v-deo.html
Overkill? Is there any such thing? I figure no.
Agreed!
Where u at😢
Hoping to record a few videos this weekend!
It’s Ka-Nip-X
🫡
Can you make for me one?
Lol, probably! I figure there’s good money in the fire pit business, I may need to make a career change!
The foam stuff is fairly new, within the last couple years. I’m sure they’ll slowly convert all the sets over to foam.
That would work for me!
