Yes, they were subsequent singles and videos. Freak on a Leash was the last single off of Follow the Leader, and Falling Away From Me was the first single from Issues.
2:56 that buzzing is a fuzz pedal being used by Fieldy the bassist of korn if im not mistaken . They love experimenting with different effect pedals for different sounds to give pff different vibes, of course with fieldys style of playing is pf course way different than you'd ever see already from your average Bassist lol he loves his slaps and with his specific tones of no mids etc , provides that very specific percussive clank you hear in most older korn songs, it may sound like the drums or other percussive instruments ( its what i thought for years lol) but that is indeed Fieldy slapping his bass with the fuzz pedal there in here. Will never get tired of his sound in these older albums. It just fits korn like a glove
OMG! YES, JEN! So happy to see you returning to the Korn journey. It's one of my favorite bands. They were the precursors of Nu Metal, a musical genre (my favorite) that was a phenomenon in the late 90s and early 2000s. Jonathan Davis is a survivor. He sings about his pain, trauma and all the psychological and physical violence he suffered, helping many who also went through the same suffering, showing that they were not alone. "Falling Away From Me" is one of those Davis screams, like "Clown", "Hater", the extremely heavy and disturbing "Daddy", among others. Exceptional choice, Jen! I'm going to make a suggestion: Deftones. It's a unique band. Despite starting out in Nu Metal, it is currently impossible to name it. Each song is a masterpiece that makes us travel to another dimension. "Digital Bath" would be an excellent start when entering this Deftones universe, where once you start it, there is no turning back. Its addicting!
Pauses don’t bother me…I really enjoy how you break it down. I’ve seen Korn a few times live and been listening to them from the beginning… maybe because I’m older but I enjoy the breakdown of Korn’s music and find it Very interesting
I would love to hear you dive into the voice of Maynard James Keenan. He is the singer of the progressive metal band Tool as well as the lead vocalist for two other amazing bands A Perfect Circle and Puscifer. A great place to dive into Tool are the tracks "The Pot", "Sober" (live 93'), or a personal favorite "The Grudge" (Which is the starting track from Tool's album Laturalus whose title track "Laturalus" is a masterpiece itself that includes utilizing the mathematics of the fibonacci sequence in the lyric syllables, chord structures, and time signatures.) The rest of the Tool Army will surely make other suggestions. As for A Perfect Circle the tracks "Judith" (named after his mother who had suffered a diminished lifestyle after a stroke left her reliant on a wheelchair when he was 11), "The Noose", "Passive", and "Disillusioned" are great places to explore. And lastly some Puscifer tracks to start with would be "The Humbling River", "The Remedy", and "Momma Sed." Please start with Tool and spiral out into the others. Thanks
make me bad, alone i break, coming undone, narcissistic cannibal, lets go, get up, never never, rotting in vain, black is the soul, a different world, take me, cold, you'll never find me, the darkness is revealing, idiosyncrasy, can you hear me, let the dark do the rest, start the healing, worst is on its way. also what is is from jonathon's solo stuff
You might consider checking out some Korn from "Untouchables" (2002) or later. Jonathan was having some issues with his voice before that and, having never taken singing lessons, he brought in a vocal coach to help heal his voice and give him some pointers to sing in a more healthy manner. The results are very noticeable. Songs like "Thoughtless" and "Alone I Break" show a lot more range and clarity than his previous stuff.
Never knew that. I enjoyed his studio sound but hearing him live I thought he sounded terrible and it turned me off wanting to ever hear him live again. Perhaps I just caught him in that point before he sought help with his singing. Who knew lol.
Damn. I also found Korn in my pre tee years ♥ I'm also 32.. struggling mentally and physically. Sorry to hear you're in a similar position. Korn brings me temporary relief and peace 🙏🌟🥹
Great reaction and analysis. Other songs from KoRn worth checking out would be "Insane", "Blind", "Thoughtless", "Evolution", "Twist", ... Too many to write down here
This song is like a sonic punch to the face, in the best way possible. At the moment I'm loving Nick Thurl Mavromatis' new song, you should definitely react to it!
I grew up with Korn and similar bands, always fun to see others react to them for the first time too. Could you react to the Kingdom performance of Love Poem? Something different, and it's three singers together
As a conclusion of the korn vidios the song daddy would be the ultimate end. And then you could also understand his songs better. it is a verry emotional song and the song was only recorded one time.
You will be hard pressed to find any songs by "Nu Metal" (which I grew up with this music and never remember referring to it as Nu Metal) bands like Korn, Rage Against the Machine, System of a Down, etc. That didnt have a strong back story, meaning or whatever you choose to call it. Those messages are as meaningful and relevant today as it was then. I know a lot of people wont agree with me but Jonathan Davis loaned his singing voice to Lestat in Queen of the Damned. The songs showcase a broader range to his voice. You can only find the music in the movie. There was some contractual stipulations that said his voice couldnt be used on the soundtrack. At least that was my understanding. I got to see korn live and his voice is just as good live as recorded.
effing vibed with that a ton. epic musical content. Can’t stop listening to tttheyir! I also think October Ends's new song is mindlowing! React to it, you won't be disappointed 🔥
Yeah I think Korn was made for headphones, as this was time when diskman was big and new and honestly my dad hated it when I listened to korn so I listened to it mostly on my disman as a kid
As a survivor, having some kind of escape is the dream. A fantasy. I know it well. I can't hardly listen to Daddy. It's.....too close to home. Jon was talking about stuff a lot of us were going through. Absolute genius.
You want a disturbing mind trip song based on Jonathan Davis’ parental abuse growing up. A very visceral, painful song. A terrifying ride called ‘DADDY’
This is one of those videos I wish people would think harder about before they request it. It’s obviously far darker than “Freak On A Leash”. I’ve seen reactors be upset by this music video. I do understand people are driven to request songs that have a ton of meaning to them. How reactors might take things just needs to be considered. Great analysis as always.
@@korndog81 for people that lived it, absolutely. I would go back. For kids now days saying "I wish I was born then" no they don't, they wouldnt last a week
The songs are freely available to listen to on their own buddy... this is a reaction and analysis video... there are gonna be pauses for the sake of reacting and analysing. You just rather them talk over the song?
This is like the fifth vocal coach reaction video I've seen on past music. I find these videos odd , simply because these artists already made millions gained extreme fame and popularity . No offense, but these videos seem pointless, I'm sure they had their own vocal coaches.
This video is for US, THE VIEWERS, the fans, not for the band! We learn from vocal coaches like Jen and her professional analysis, because we love the songs and want to understand the creativity of the artists.
The next on the Korn journey could be "Thoughtless", "Blind" or "Rotting in Vain", which was even nominated for a Grammy.
Insane would also be a good choice or even narcissistic canabal. Hell even alone I break would be good.
blind is always a good choice. so is Divine. imo of course
Yes, they were subsequent singles and videos. Freak on a Leash was the last single off of Follow the Leader, and Falling Away From Me was the first single from Issues.
Thank you!

Korn had such a unique sound, you knew who is was instantly from every riff

Thank you for MOAR KORN!!! Fun fact, Fred Durst directed this video. Thoughtless or Rotting in Vain would be good choices for the next one.
Fred s a genius
Hes in the video too, very brief and slick placement

Hi Jennifer hope you are having an great and awesome day ❤
You're right, the video flows directly from Freak on a Leash
If you like that they don't shy away from subject matter, you'll love Daddy. No mistaking what that one is about.
"Alone I Break". Greatings from Russia!
Found this pre teen. Music is my outlet. 32 cripple now
Damn. I also found Korn in my pre tee years ♥ I'm also 32.. struggling mentally and physically. Sorry to hear you're in a similar position.
Korn brings me temporary relief and peace 🙏🌟🥹
listen to album version of "Blind" or "Faget" or "Daddy" if you want to hear how good and deep his voice used to be
Like it's he's inner child saying it will be better tomorrow with his group voice singing with it
You should try Blind, Shoots & Ladders, Clown, Balltongue, or Coming Undone.
damned good music
Great reaction and analysis. Other songs from KoRn worth checking out would be "Insane", "Blind", "Thoughtless", "Evolution", "Twist", ... Too many to write down here
Blind, most definitely, needs to be on your list.
Jonathan is Scottish however is from Bakersfield CA where i live and we mostly have a twang after a while lol country here in the desert
This song is like a sonic punch to the face, in the best way possible. At the moment I'm loving Nick Thurl Mavromatis' new song, you should definitely react to it!
Wait till she finds out John Davis wrote the whole music play and album for queen of the damned movie
If you watch the movie queen of the damned, Johnathan does the vocal tracks for the main character Lestat.
Love the reaction you gotta do either Clown or Thoughtless next!
I grew up with Korn and similar bands, always fun to see others react to them for the first time too.
Could you react to the Kingdom performance of Love Poem? Something different, and it's three singers together
@1:50 The immediate stank face 😂
As a conclusion of the korn vidios the song daddy would be the ultimate end. And then you could also understand his songs better. it is a verry emotional song and the song was only recorded one time.

Korn es genial ,as la del tema blain de korn , a seguir rokeando🤟🤟🤟

I hate when people request daddy for a first song. That's a song that should be listened to as a last song and after they read up on JDs history.
The 90s were dark. People always say I wish I was born then. No you dont
90s was the best, wish I could go back.
@@korndog81 for people that lived it, absolutely. I would go back. For kids now days saying "I wish I was born then" no they don't, they wouldnt last a week
more korn
You should do hater, rotting in vain, insane, narcissistic canabal, different world. These are all good ones.
Please do KoRn- Dirty!!!! Their best stuff is not the singles
Try to react Limp Bizkit the title is Break Stuff.. 👍
Almost a Marilyn Manson vibe
The buzzing noise during the video is bad. It’s not like that normally. It’s got to be her equipment
Please alex terible one take vocal
Ian Gillan "When A Blind Man Cries" REACTION
Didn't like the way she stopped the video y the best parts!

I'd even say the videos are for their authors and featuring a known band helps them get views
