Thanks for showing your work more when you finish a session. Your earlier videos didn't show the completed work enough 😍🤪🤘 Looks absolutely amazing Adam!!!
I’m doing a silver and black Harley Davidson panel right now. Water drops tomorrow. I use my pancake compressor for all my air gun needs. The IWATA your using is a great gun. I use it everyday as well
If you’re not going to clear it right away you’ll have to put at least a coat of intercoat clear on it if it’s going to be more than a couple hours to be able to “scuff” the surface and have good adhesion. Your TDS sheet will tell you how long you can leave it open before it has to be cleared or before it has to be sanded.
The first time I did water drops they come out great. The 2nd time I put to much paint on and they just peeled off after it dried. There is a fine line between how much paint you can use for sure I find not use a heat gun so I had to wait a while for it to dry
So I've been a custom painter for roughly 20 years now. My paint jobs however have always been placed on street rods, and full custom classics. I've been approached by guys with motorcycles to do work for them and I have quoted them cost based on the material I use. When they see the estimate they get a bit of sticker shock, which confused me on account I never have someone who owns an actual auto have any price issues.. the bikers always have the remark, well I know so and so who said they would paint for literally half the price or less that I told them. I then tell them go ahead and take it elsewhere because I refuse to eat labor cost to cover material cost that I know is absolutely reasonable.. all the while I rack my head on how the world these other motorcycle artist are painting these bikes supposedly so cheap.. I watch these UA-cam videos of motorcycle painters and it hits me why my price estimates are always higher.. I actually use professional (PPG, Axalta, HOK) materials.. while everyone else uses Amazon and Ebay budget junk.
I love the old school paint effects like this! I've done paint jobs on cars and motorcycles but never airbrush. But is gonna change in 2022!
Right on!!!

Sorry about that. I will have it fixed
Do you always have to clear over your base right away when doing effects?
No within a couple days is optimal though

Nice.. So after all that just clear cost?
Yes, correct
If I wanted to airbrush skulls after the metal flake how would you do that
Hey Adam before you clear coat do you clean it with glass cleaner or wax and grease remover?
Glass cleaner
