    i like to drink about 2 cups of water before a meal, to help fill me up so that I don't overeat. but you say you shouldn't drink any water around the time you eat. so should i really stop having water right before, during and right after eating?! x

      Bella Ford yes, I didn't really understand as well. "Try NOT to drink 20 min before and 1 hour after your food"...?

    • @DrMonaVand
      @DrMonaVand  6 років тому +101

      I recommend not drinking water 20 mins before a meal or 30-60 mins after. Sorry i didn’t clarify clearly! Simply because water dilutes the digestive enzymes needed to break down food. This is a belief system i follow. If your nutrition / weight is 100% perfect and you don’t need to change anything - by all means don’t! If it ain’t broke don’t fix it :) but, if you are open to some improvement, give it a shot xx

      @@DrMonaVand its interesting you should mention this belief system you have as my aunt has the same one. She studied herbal medicine and acupuncture and has told me the same thing, especially as I've been working on looking weight as a heavier woman with PCOS.

      If you really want a drink, herbal teas are fine, as they do not damage the digestive enzymes

    I've actually found that eating the proteins at lunch time actually helps avoid the mid-afternoon crash I usually get when I eat high carb/starchy foods. It gives me the energy to get through the rest of the day. I eat my carbs at night since I'm not too hungry after the protein and that helps limit overeating. Thanks for the ideas!

      Jasmin et Oranger - You are wrong, she IS a doctor in Pharmacy, she has a PhD! Which makes her a doctor. What she is NOT, is an MD/a physician - which she hasn’t claimed to be either.

      @@lottatroublemaker6130 If she is a Doctor in Pharmacy, then for respect to the public it will be nice to tell people that she is endid a doctor but not MD. When somebody gives you advice for your health and they claim they are a doctor me like everyone else are going to put health advice + doctor = MD or Naturopath or maybe Doctor in nutrition. Very disapointing to say the least. TO find out this way that she is pretending to be a n MD is a scam. I would NOT have been pist would I have read, I am Doctor in Pharmacy not in anything else, I would have aprecite her video. But because she did not I dislike her, and her advice and I have removed my thumbs up and i canceled my suscription/ I am an honnest person. Dear Dr. Mona, PLEASE, please top using plastic utensils. You could carry knife, fork, spoon in your lovely huge bag and after their use carry home in your plastic baggies and wash them together to reuse. Also, paper biodegradable straws are in most grocery stores. Me? I also bring my own containers and have they weighed before I put food into them. At first I felt a little "nutty" but now am used to doing this stuff. Also, you meet so many nice people who ask you about it and become inspired to do one or two things. I also carry a tiny salt shaker of pink salt sent to me by Redmond Real Salt, aboiut 1-1/2" tall by 1/3" wide, refillable weighs about 2 feathers. Love to all of us trying to eat smart.

    Thank you for this! I have a question. I have a very high metabolism, so much so that I have given birth to 9 children and I still lose weight. I'm 5'2 and 108-110. Question is, I have been eating as healthy as I can manage with a large family. What are healthy options that can add extra calories. Because I've started eating healthy, I've lost over 10 pounds (I'm normally around 118-120 pounds).
    I need extra calories, but healthy only.
    If I eat like you did (What I eat in a day) I will lose tons of weight. I drink a organic green meal every morning for the extra calories.
