    _Notes_
    #1:warm drinks
    #2:sweet spices (Ceylon cinnamon)
    #3:Stevia (sugar alternative)
#4:Completely cut out processed fruit juice
    #5:Completely cut out soda
(You can make ur own “soda” by using soda stream and adding some flavor like green tea, lemon or juice)
    #6:low fat=more sugar
#7: sweet potatoes with sweet spices
#8: Avoid simple carbs (f.e. white flour)
#9:Is it a habit or a crave?-Pay attention to triggers (situations where you start craving sugar).
Side note: We don‘t need sugar. And she only refers to processed sugar (not fruits etc.).
Also give it time, you’re gonna feel weird at first.

Fun fact from a type 1 diabetic: all carbs are sugar aka glucose, the body needs sugar to survive and breaks down carbs (even proteins via glycogenolysis, and fats via gluconeogenesis) into glucose so every cell in your body can have energy. Please break the stereotype and classify that you are speaking of type 2 diabetes at the end of the video. Type 1 is an autoimmune disease that is not developed by too much sugar intake etc. :)

However, I hope your viewers know that carbonation is also TERRIBLE for you. you are so not alone! I've spoken with so many women who have the same struggle. It's so important to first address and get free from the addiction to sugar/sweets and other foods so that you can stick to a PCOS nutrition plan. Many people think that trying to abstain from all sugar is the solution but if you have an addiction to sugar you won't be able to. In my experience, one must first get free from the addiction and what's driving us to sugar/food in the first place.

Great advice. My biggest problem is I am a night shift NICU RN. I seriously feel at certain points in the shift that I legit need sugar. And I absolutely feel 100%better after eating it, usually candy. I find this is true of all of us- especially in high stress situations like trying to keep a baby from dying for hours. I love my job- but do you have any recommendations as to what I could grab in these situations instead of chocolate out of the candy box we have on our unit? Really want to stop the sugar as much as possible.

Lisa A Fruit. A crunchy, crisp gala apple. It won’t feel satisfying at first but if you cut all sugar from your diet after couple weeks the apple or other fruits (you bring) will taste delicious. Replace bad habits a little at a time. You can do it!

Because you have to go right out to the floor again- and you often don’t have a break or much of one.

Karishma Kanabar Stop cold turkey. No more. It’ll be really hard & rough about the first week or 2 but once you reach about week 3-4 you will not even crave it. Then it will be much more conscious if you choose to eat sugar & trust me, one bite will taste so sweet you will be shocked what happens. You must reach at least a month without sugar & then switch your chocolate to a much healthy version which is organic dark chocolate with at least 80% cacao & if you like, added raw almonds. Couple squares a night is actually healthy if it meets the above requirements.

I’ve cut our sugar very strictly this past week and my skin has broke out! Is this normal? I have never been prone to breakouts. I thought my skin would clear up more...

As someone who is clean and addicted to food, cigarettes, and alcohol - I get uncomfortable in my chair when ever someone says "oh don't worry, your addiction will go away!" no. This is not how it works. Addictions do not go away. They are always there. You do not vanish your addiction, you only learn how to live with it. Just because I am clea, does not mean I am not an addict anymore or that my addiction does not exist anymore. I am just a clean addict and not an active addict. So please do not use the term "your addiction goes away" because it relly doesn't. You can learn how to live with it, which is a differant story, but it never fully goes away. I go to AA (Alcoholic anonymos), and OA (Obese Anonymous). I have done the 12 steps programs and I have also been in rehab for a year. Please do not share misleading information about the disease of addiction without knowing the first thing about it. I usually adore your context and will remain a subscriber for life, but you do not need scientific evidence that sugar addiction is "a thing". That is how addiction works. An addict could also be addicted to a chair and a table - doesn't matter what it is - as long as it fulfills the hole in their hearts. If someone tells you they are addicted to sugar (which basically means that they do not control sugar - but sugar controls them.) than the first thing you need to do as a friend IS BELUEVE THEM. Not run and seek for proof and evidence. I anyone has reached a low in life when they come to admit to be addicted to anything, they probably know what they are talking about. Sorry if I came off as mean, but as an addict I have to take a stand when I see videos that talk about addiction as if it is not a disease but rather a mood that swings away eventually. You will not beat sugar cravings and sugar addiction with stevia and cinnamon. You will beat it by going to a supoort grouo and surrounding yourself with addicts who also understabd you and could lead you to a better way.

I hear you and agree with much of what you have said. I'm clean too from drug addiction. The thing I will also say though is that in my experience you can get completely recovered. today I am recovered from food addiction, drug addiction, codependency and many others. I agree that stevia and cinnamon is not the solution but that doesn't meant that there isn't a solution for those of us who know what being addicted is all about. My understanding of addiction varies a bit from yours in that I do not see addiction as a disease but rather as a dis-ease - a separation from ease and comfort internally that drives us to seek external sources of ease and comfort which can be found in many things. My freedom from addiction came when I addressed this underlying dis-ease and discomfort and cultivated an internal state of ease and comfort. That's what had the addictions fall away. I wish you well on your journey 🙏🏼

There’s good information in these videos about why you should cut things out but I really wish she would give good realistic options. Like if someone if craving something like Oreos swapping that out for a yam with pumpkin spice.... that’s just not gonna happen lol when I’m craving something really sugary I’ll have some dark chocolate bark or you can make a processed-sugar free fresh fruit sorbet at home. Or there’s plenty of healthy delicious brownie recipes online.

Z I’ve heard docs and nutritionists say that you should consider a cheat day where you eat whatever you are craving. Schedule it in your calendar- I knew someone who did this in college and she lost the weight she wanted to-

Our brain needs sugar, helps with memory. The natural sugars and not processed or artificial of course. But certain organs in our body do need sugar.
