I wish I watched this last week when setting up my uns 60u. I think I always place my moss a little too sparsely bc I’m always afraid of blocking light and killing the lower layers. I mean of course it’ll fill in on its own, but I have to wait for that impact. I can’t believe there isn’t one brown bit in that moss. It is so green! Every time you get moss delivered in the states there are a lot of brown bits. They do bounce back and green up, but it takes time. Well guess I just have to wait until my moss naturally fills in a bit more on it’s own. I love moss and liverworts and keep many kinds, but have yet try willow moss. I just tried flame moss for the first time. Great videos. I’ve watched many in the last month ever since I discovered you all!! Thank you!

Do we have to cut the thread after it attaches or does it disintegrate?
And if it does so then could it be toxic or smth for the tank inhabitants especially in a small tank?
    TIA

Do you ever remove the thread?

Official WASABI Moderator: The thread dissolves/biodegrade over time.

The thinner you start, the better moss will attach. Seriously, go as thin as you can. One naturally grown string of moss will reward you way more than a bunch of moss that’s tied on

Tip: If you see brown bits in your moss, cut them off and only use the green
