      I'm just learning how to do this. Love your video on it. I especially love the moss ball tree! Thank you A Gamer's Wife♡ I'm going to try the tree. And I didn't know you could use it on rooted plants. Which I am doing that also. Because they just keep flowing up. Awesome video!

    LOL I discovered recently that there is such a thing as aquascaping glue when I went to my local professional aquarium shop. I asked for something to tie moss and other hardscape plants and she told me "glue" and I was like "whaa" and then she showed me. Then I got home and was amazed how easy it was. You definitely need a bunch of it for aquascaping.

Or does the water provide enough for the plants so they do not need any nutrients from the substrate?

    Idk if you'll see this in any reasonable amount of time, but have you ever noticed the smell of superglue after the time it was supposed to havd cured? I glued a few plants to my decorations and kept them in a bucket outside the tank for a day and a half and when I took them out of the water today I quickly noticed the chemical smell. I just used a tube of regular loctite. Every one I've talked to says superglue is totally fine but I'm paranoid bc I love my betta so much.

      I _personally_ haven't had any issues with it, but I also haven't kept hundreds of axolotls and exposed them to plants attached with glue. I have used glue around other sensitive creatures like dwarf shrimp and otocinclus, and so far it's giving me no issues.

    My Java Fern has been producing lots of baby plants and I've been gluing them to small rocks, but I hate that the glue turns white. I hadn't thought of using sand to hide it, so that's a great tip. When I rinsed my Flourite substrate, I kept most of the fine sand that wound up in the bottom of the bucket, so I finally have a use for it (At $20 per bag, I was determined to do something with it).

    can i use normal hot glue to stick the plants?. is it harmful for fish?

    • @GirlTalksFish
      @GirlTalksFish  3 роки тому

      Great question! Yes, hot glue is safe for aquariums. If you notice, a lot of fish tank decorations have hot glue at the base. However, I've never tried it with live plants because of the heat.

      You can. It just flows a little faster and may be harder to control. Just make sure not to drench the rhizome on any anubias, java fern, etc. and you should be fine. :)

    Hey great video thank you very much. Who is wondering do you think I guess this is the name aquarium stones are needed.
    I feel like they take up way too much room. I like using small ones to anchor plants down that actually need to be put into substrate.
    I'm trying to see if I could grow was just liquidhaving the roots exposed into the water column but hidden by the stone.
    You see when I first got into the hobby two years with bettas in Taiwan they don't actually sell aquarium soil in the pet shops. I've been to so many and I had never found any I think you have to buy it online or something in Taiwan.
    I think it's because maybe they want you to buy gravel so all of my tanks consists of gravel but we don't have silk plant so I use live plants which we have all the variety of.
    so if you were to check out my UA-cam channel you would see that I have anubias and other types of plants that seem to be doing well.
    I'm thinking about trying water lettuce. There is one plant that I'm thinking of buying it's in a small pot with aquarium soil.
    Just this year we got aquarium soil but it's from Japan. A large bag it's like 40 USD.
    I'm an American but the goal of my channel is to help Taiwanese people realize they can create a very simpletank without having to spend a ton of money and the stress of me and hanging it.
    I also just want to bring a little joy and peace. Seems like the world is in a place where everybody is either scared or worried.
    anyways I love your videos and I'm glad that you work with co-op thanks for all the great info

    In all Super glue packaging, there are always warnings about how irritating the glue is. I wonder how it is not toxic to the plant that is physically in contact with the glue and also to the fish if some of the glue substance leaks into the water.

    I really want a 10 gallon community tank with a female or a male betta as the center piece(depends)and a good small schooling fish if I’m choosing a male I’d prefer tetras or with female a few guppies and if possible I would love a bottom dweller ( i don’t know if this set up is possible so that’s why I’m asking you)the thing is that a 20 gallon tank is pretty large for the place I wanna keep it so a 10 gallon is good.
    Ps:if a betta isn’t possible I’m flexible to other good looking fish as well

    • @GirlTalksFish
      @GirlTalksFish  5 років тому

      That sounds great! I think as long as you have plenty of room and hiding places/cover, betta fish actually make pretty good community fish. That being said, if your betta turns out to be super aggressive like mine, you can usually return the tetras/guppies and try another species until you find the perfect match. Best of luck with your 10-gallon setup! Let me know what you end up doing. :)

      A Gamer's Wife I have a question is it possible to keep a good bottom dweller I’m the tank and if so which one?
      And I’ll keep my betta in it as he is biting his tail and I think that the other fish will distract him from that.
