    Hiro-san: can you please advise on planting scheme for stem plants and other types like Stauro/ARM etc. Spacing between them, specially like Rotala, Ludwigia. Should they be planted a 1 stem each vs 2-3 bunch together. How much spacing is ideal to make a good presentation and avoid them getting all entangled and looking like a mess.

    • @NORIaquaCh
      @NORIaquaCh 3 роки тому +1

      Official WASABI Moderator: Dear Sandeep, can you tell us what "Stauro/ARM" is? Also, 1 stem plant is preferred between 1-3cm apart, as you trim new nodes branch out and you achieve a bush that way. If you plant 2-3 together, you will have a messy plant mass as well as roots competing for nutrients.

    • @sandeepsharma82100

      @@NORIaquaCh my apologies, I mean Staurogyne Repens, and Alternanthera Reinecki Mini.
      Thanks for your input on stem plants. Are there other general rules or best practices one can follow on planting scheme - distance between other types of plants, arrangement general rules or ideas (I understand it can be personal choice too in arrangement)

    • @NORIaquaCh
      @NORIaquaCh 3 роки тому +1

      @@sandeepsharma82100 Official WASABI Moderator: 1-3cm apart in general, but some plants are exceptions, such as Alternanthera Reineckii Mini, it will grow child plants on the parent plant in all directions. This results in a bush. If you plant this too close, your layout design will look weird after 3-6 months from planting. Similar applies to Staurogyne Repens.

      I’m currently using ADA fertilizer, it doesn’t include any phosphate, do you think the phosphate from fish excretion and maybe some leftover fish food is enough?

    • @NORIaquaCh
      @NORIaquaCh 3 роки тому

      @@CatPoopsRainbow Official WASABI Moderator: Yes, phosphate is always present in any planted aquarium from fish food, fish waste and decaying organics, this typically meets the 0.1ppm requirement.

    What is COD? Call of duty?

    • @NORIaquaCh
      @NORIaquaCh 3 роки тому +2

      Official WASABI Moderator: In chemistry, the chemical oxygen demand (COD) is an indicative measure of the amount of oxygen that can be consumed by reactions in a measured solution. It is commonly expressed in mass of oxygen consumed over volume of solution which in SI units is milligrams per litre (mg/L). A COD test can be used to easily quantify the amount of organics in water.
