    Hallelujah, I thank you for being here for me.. I had stopped crocheting for a year or so, just not well,
    trying to adjust to LUPUS and all. I have many circular project that went nowhere… I wanted to make them into a square..
    I’ve searched the sites for days,, I found you yesterday, March 16th, 2024. Now here you finally helping me.❤I decided to follow you from the very beginning. I found out I forgot how to make a simple circle!! I practiced and got it. I stopped at the beginning, two double crochets in the twelve stitches. I can do it. You give great videos and show exactly what I need to get back into crocheting.
    I am seventy nine and I thank you. 🧶Judith 🦋🌈😇🙏
    I forgot how to make the simple circle. It took practice..Now I am at the very beginning of your pattern
    doing the 2 double crochets in the 12 stitches…You gave me peace of mind finally.

    Bless you my child. I have watched several tutorials for this Square and tried two other versions and by FAR yours is simply the best. No fuss way to join the new yarn, finishing at a corner, good clear directions including stitch counts which are so important. I'm a lefty and had no problems following along. I am a fan.

    I've been crocheting for 50 years now. This was a wonderful step by step instruction. I decided to watch it because I have some beautiful old doilies I wanted to repurpose. I intend to convert them into a vest using the doily as the center front design but I needed to know how to get it into a square form to accomplish that. This is the answer! Thank you. ❤

    Question for you, how to turn a bigger circle into a square? I have a circle made of 52 stitches already and I want to turn it into square, but I don’t know how many DC, HC, and SC I have to do on each four side?

    • @Taylorencrafted
      @Taylorencrafted 2 роки тому +5

      I had a similar situation with a circle of 72 stitches. I divided my stitch count by 4 which was 18. I noticed in the pattern repeat on video that 1/3rd of the stitches were SC. So I divided my 18 by 3 to get 6. Then I knew each repeat would have the 2 corner stitches + the 6 SC= 8 sts. Then I made the remaining 10 stitches HDC. So my pattern went *DCINC, CH 1, DCINC, 5 HDC, 6 SC, 5HDC* (repeat 3x)
      I hope this is helpful.

    Ive been crocheting about 50 years but have never seen a corner done in two spaces. I just did it in one space and added one sc in the space where the corner would have been.

    • @JustBeCrafty
      @JustBeCrafty  Рік тому

      The corner is created over two stitches in Round 4 only **in order to slowly turn the circle into a square** remaining corners are made in the corner chain spaces, just like any other basic crochet square. Regarding your other comment, your square's curly/curvy issues are likely because you are transitioning from circle to square too rapidly instead of a slower transition per the pattern instructions in Round 4. I hope this helps you out! Happy crocheting! 🥰

    At 13.40 you slip stitch into that stitch and then you instruct to slip stitch into the next chain, but you don't. you insert your hook into the hole. I'm wondering if this was an accidental error or am I supposed to insert into the hole? help!!!

    So, for rows 4 and 5, there is just one chain between the 2-dc corner sets, but in row 6, you put 2 chains between them? This is different from your written instructions on the website.

      Hi Laura! Yes, that is correct for Rounds 4, 5, and 6. The written instructions on my site also reflect those same instructions as well. Happy crocheting!

    Would this squaring technique work on any round crochet pattern?

      This will work out as long as the circle stitch count is divisible by 4

    I’m a semi beginner, and I am good with all the stitches here. I am really good at regular granny squares, but with the circle step it keeps curling up. How would I stop this from happening? Are my stitches too tight or loose? Help!

      Hi Mya! Hmm... yes, it sounds like your might be making your stitches too tight, try loosening your stitches up a bit and see if that helps. If the problem isn't too bad, you could work as normal and try flattening out by wet or steam blocking your squares flat in the end.
