    -How many squares do I need for a baby blanket?
    This can vary, it really can be however big or small you like, but i generally do 4x4 or 5x5.
    This blog post might be useful: bit.ly/1UIobie
    -How many chains shall I do for a *single/double/etc' blanket?
    Again, this can vary. I would suggest that you do your chain and lay it down agains the bed you are wanting it for. It should be the same width. You should then ad a few more to make it a little wider.

    Question - why do I seem to have the stitch showing of the circle when doing the border? The first time l did it my circle looked square’ish.

    Just came here to say I love this pattern! By row 6 I couldn’t get it right, I kept recounting… it turns out when you say to do two double crochets into the corner, chain two and do two double crochets in the NEXT stitch, I think you meant into the corner again. At least that’s what worked for me. Just wanted to throw that out there in case anyone else was struggling while just listening along

    • @bellacococrochet
      @bellacococrochet  2 роки тому +1

      I'm glad you like it 😊 Thank you for pointing this out; sometimes small errors like this do creep through, but yes, you are right, you should be working two US doubles (or UK trebles) into the same corner space, not the next stitch. Apologies for any confusion.

    Hi, please help, I love this circle granny square, and used a number 5 hook with charity double knit pullskein, but am finding it tends to get a little wavy and won't lie flat like yours does. Must I rather use a number 4 hook? What am I doing wrong?

    • @bellacococrochet
      @bellacococrochet  4 роки тому

      For double knit yarn I would recommend using a 4mm hook which I think is number 6 US hook, or letter G. So I would try going up a hook size as your stitches may be a little squished 😊

    • @bellacococrochet
      @bellacococrochet  3 роки тому +1

      You're welcome 😊 If you use a premium acrylic yarn like the one in the video you should find that it's nice and soft and doesn't itch at all. Acrylic yarn is very hard wearing so it can withstand being washed in the washing machine and tumble dried, and it's a good option for people with allergies to animal fibres. Wool for example can be quite coarse and itchy. Another option to look at would be cotton, which will give you very good stitch definition as the yarn is more defined than acrylic, but it's also much more expensive. Hope this helps! 😊

    I am excited to make this pattern. UA-cam will not download pattern unless I signup for a monthly service. I am not tech savvy - is there another way to download the pattern? Could you also tell me what the measurements of each square should be if I follow your pattern directly? I’m trying to figure out how much yarn to purchase. Thank you soo much for your beautiful patterns and making it so easy to follow your patterns!!

      You are very welcome. The circle of hope blanket pattern can be purchased on my blog at bellacococrochet.com for a one off payment of £3, you do not need to sigh up for a monthly service. Here is the link bellacococrochet.com/shop/circle-of-hope/ or you can find the free pattern on my blog at bellacococrochet.com It's really difficult to give out sizes as this really depends on the type of yarn you are using, your hook size and your own personal tension, my square size was approx 5 inches x 5 inches and i used a 4mm hook. If you pop over to my blog you will find all the information that you need. Good luck with your project :)

      You’re welcome 😊 You can follow my tutorial for a flat circle here: ua-cam.com/video/QFHexyNR1dY/v-deo.html and continue increasing the size. Remember you’ll need to adjust the number of stitches on your final rounds to change it into a square if you do this.

    If I was too add another colour in the round how would I go about doing the square border? Would you add a couple more singke stitches in the middle of each side?

    • @bellacococrochet
      @bellacococrochet  2 роки тому

      Yes, I would simply work more double crochet stitches (US single crochet) in the centre of each side when you come to straighten it off 😊

    Thank you for the pattern. I am now superproud of my circle of hope as I am a beginner. I am just learning to read patterns and was expecting another HTC in your round 5 repeat to match the video. Am I just reading it wrong Round 5: Ch 3, tr in same st. Ch 1, 2 tr in next st. Htr, dc in next 8 sts. (2tr in same st, ch 1, 2 tr in next st. Htr, dc in next 8 sts) twice more. Htr in next st and join with a ss. Do not tie off.
    Should there be a HTC at the beginning of the bracket?? P.S. cant wait to see your blanket later

      Yes you can, but you may need to use a different joining method. As long as your squares are arranged as shown in my blog post here: bellacococrochet.com/crochet-on-the-high-street-and-why-you-shouldnt-buy-it/ you can join them using any method 😊

    • @bellacococrochet
      @bellacococrochet  4 роки тому

      For the border you would make your corner stitches in the same way as shown in the tutorial, and just increase the number of double crochets along the side as in round 5 and the number of trebles as in round 6. 😊

    I love this but I'm struggling with the colour transition. I seem to have a bit of the new colour showing or vice versa and a gap. So it looks messy 😕 Is there another way to transition?

    • @bellacococrochet
      @bellacococrochet  2 роки тому +1

      Have you tried gently pulling on the ends of the old colour and new colour to tighten them? This should sort out any gap and will usually make the change less noticeable. If you prefer, you can tie off the old colour and then attach your new colour by making a standing stitch, or by joining it and then chaining 😊

    Please can you tell me can I go from the circle to square granny clusters?

    • @bellacococrochet
      @bellacococrochet  3 роки тому

      As the circle is formed with solid rows of stitches there aren’t any gaps to work the clusters into (as there would be with puff stitches, for example), but you could try working clusters around the outside by working three trebles into one stitch and then skipping two stitches 😊

    Can i ask why it is 8 double crochets? Meaning why is this the number? is it the number of stitches divided by 6 - asking because i did an extra round and may need more double crochets but unsure on the number. Thanks

    • @bellacococrochet
      @bellacococrochet  Рік тому

      If you've worked an extra round I would take the total number of stitches that you have and take away sixteen (this is how many stitches you will need to form the four corners). The number that you have remaining can be divided by four, and this will make up the total number of double crochet stitches which will form the side of each square. Hope this helps 😊
