Hi... Your tutorial is very clear, thank you very much! I have just one questione I'm following your tutorial for making one big mandala inside a square. I'm asking you if I have to repeat for more than two times the row of the *2double dc, 2 half double and many singles" till arrive at all most a square than finish with a row of half double crochet and the last row of double crochet. I hope to had explained it enough well for understanding 😅. Thank you!
Hi Christa your going to be proud of me I am starting to make my circles into squares but I am having a little bit of trouble so I was just wondering if I could ask you something and tell you what problems I’ve been having only if you have time Thank you so much Big Hugs ❤️❤️
Hi I have a tip when decreasing it's almost the same as you do it but when you grab the string to pull through 3 loops. I don't grab the fourth string. Instead I grab the 3rd string on the hook and pull it through 2 loops like you would for a single crochet stitch. It looks a hole lot better not look like a half double crochet. Thank you . I'm copying your circle blanket which I love so much.
Thank you so much for this beautiful square! Can you tell me how many stitches should be on each side of the finished square? I keep coming out with a different total ☹️.
Instead of starting half a corner I started with the 6 singles bc I didn't like how that corner looked and I kept getting confused where the middle was. The square still looks the same and I have less of a headache.
Hi Christa love your tutorials i like to make this but I dont understand is it 4 dobbelt crochet in the same stitch to make a corner 😊thanks have a Nice Day
Christa what if you're making the circles larger 6 rounds, how many single crochets do I add to the square? or would I need to adjust the whole thing? HELP!
Hi, Christine Hellenic!! Yup - you have to adjust the whole thing! Count the stitches, divide by 4, pop a stitch marker into the "4's - to mark the corners. Then fill in the corners/sides. Hope that helps? Thank you! 🌻🌺🌼
Having trouble in the corners ugh, the 1st one I did came out perfect ended like I should, 2nd 1 I ripped out 3xs, hoping I'm just tired, going to sleep and try in a.m
I'm finally done with the circles now ready to turn them into squares. But I'm using 1 pound skeins so what should I do I don't have the skeins to leave attached how much yarn to leave when I cut. Waiting on a reply thank you.
I know you have 12 (100 gram) skeins for your “squares”-& you leave the skein with the circle after turning it into a square, but I’m using a couple of skeins that are 453.6 grams each and cannot “leave it with the square”-I need to continue using that skein to crochet around the next square. Hope I’m not confusing. I want to follow your method of connect as you go, so could I just pull out a quantity of yarn, cut it off and continue using that skein to square up my next circle? If I could just pull out a quantity needed to use when I “connect as you go”-how much yarn should I pull off the skein and leave with that finished circle? OR, my other thought was to wind my 453.6 gram skein into four 114.8 grams and just go from there (but I would hate to be wasting yarn!). Help! Sorry for the long question. LOL 🤓
Hi, Kathryn Borbacs! I get what you mean. You could finish each square with a full round of double crochets, and then add a bit extra to compensate for the slip stitch joins. It would be a bit of a guessing game though, unfortunately. Joining tutorial comes out on Monday. xx!
@@SecretYarnery I am going to have this issue as well, so I will go ahead and double crochet around each square. But my question is: do you think (approx)1 1/2 - 2 yards of extra yarn would be enough yarn to slip stich and join as you go? Thank you!🌹
Hi what did you end up doing? I know it's been a while but I have the same issue and can't leave the skein with the square. Would fastening off before the last round of DC work? And then join the yarn again to join as you go?
I have finally made all of my circle s. It seems like every other circle that i turn into a square i have one extra stitch on that first round of single crochets.
I did start these last night but actually went to sleep before starting the fourth row...lol So, now five out of six different colored circles have been started. I am watching again from the beginning just in case I missed something or to clarify somethings that were different...
Question...what is holding your yarn? I'm working with a super soft yarn and I'm having to wrap it around my hand to keep tension and I'm starting to get rope burn on my index finger lol is there something keeping it tight and you're just guiding it with your fingers?
Hi, Samantha Hardy McKeag!! Yup - just with my fingers. I don't bother with tight stitches... but do whatever works for you! If I am using a scratchy yarn it can hurt my fingers, so I use a bit of microscpore tape around my finger. Lighter than a bandaid and lasts all day! amzn.to/35u3Udc 🌻🌺🌼

I'm used to do it without turning and so I did yesterday by habit and I think it came out the same way? Please correct me if I'm wrong. Will the stitch count be different? Thank you so much!
Hi, Mirjana Zdravkovic!! You certainly do NOT have to turn! I findit is easier for people new to crochet to not lose that first stitch after the corners... and with the squares having to line up afterwards, it can be confusing if the stitch count is off. Dealers choice! xx
