So for anyone curious: The x34 "GS" doesn't actually have a gsync module, its a freesync 2 panel that has been officially certified to be g-sync compatible. The other model "x34 S" is the one that actually comes with a g-sync module installed inside of it.
Just got the X34GS. Went from a 27 VA 144hz monitor and this one is soooo much better. Playing Doom Eternal with HDR on is like playing a new game. Love this monitor
Been waiting this monitor for few months. Still not possible to buy elsewhere than in Australia. Well yeah looks like Acer have production issues not selling this in other markets yet.
I bought his monitor 2 weeks ago now. I found that you can unscrew the monitor from the stand, flip the plate on the stand and rescrew back together with the monitor upside down. why? because now you'll be able to lower the height all the way down until it hits the stand (which is what I like). but yeah the ips-glow in the corners are shockingly bad. still good monitor though.
@MrHakisak Oh really, that's great news, thank you for sharing. Getting mine this week, hope you don't have to be McGyver cause i have two left hands ^^
@@busch1179 yeah the monitor is still really good and I love that I can now lower it all the way down to my desk. the ONLY downside I have come across is that ALL nvidia shadowplay recordings are upside-down (even though the monitor is flipped in the nvidia control panel). I can always just flip the videos when I'm watching them with mpc-be player but its just a little annoying.
@@MrHakisak Oh, i see. I wonder if it's possible to switch stands. I also have the original X34. I allready had a 34gs and the stand is really a big issue for me, my desk has a height for monitors. Without beeing able to lower the monitor all the way downside, it woul'd be to high. But the main reason why i send my first x34gs back was, it had one green stuck pixel and in HDR mode it did some weird noise. (When screen was more white'ish) But gaming with this badboy at 180 Hz... hell yeah, so good. Hope this one is fine and i can find a solution for the "stand problem". Thanks for your answer :)
@@busch1179 no problem, I originally looked at getting a vesa stand but they all seemed to bulky and I didn't want my monitor to be any further out from the wall then it currently is. I tried 180hz and yes it is nice, but I stay in 144hz 10bit color (since its to hard to push 180hz in most games) and I watch 10-bit anime and movies. I gave up on windows-10's implementation on HDR, its just to finicky and you can't adjust brightness when in HDR mode (and its to bright when in HDR mode).
@@MrHakisak Well, i will let you know what my solution will be, if i can find one. Maybe it helps you as well. And yes, that 10 Bit vs 8 Bit is somewhat painful. There is no "set and forget" solution, it depends on the game. I can play Hunt Showdown at 180 with my 3080 (and it feels so good), but for an Assassins Creed i woul'd have to switch back to 144. First world problems, right!? xD And yes, i don't know if i will ever use HDR mode. I mean, that HDR 400 (or a bit more) is not like an OLED HDR, not even close. But as i tested it, the monitor made that weird noise and that should not be the case. + that one green stuck pixel was too much. It was really just one pixel, but it was more in the middle left. And once you know that there is a pixel, you allways look at him ^^ Hope your mointor is fine. Greetings
So there is X34 X34P and X34S and X34GS. X34 is 100hz x34p is 120hz x34s is 180hz with gsync compatibility and adaptive synx./ instead of gsync.module as previous models/ and also X34S has 200hz and full gsync module
I don't think the price justifies upgrading from an older X34, I guess if you are a "truly" competitive FPS player it might be worth the coin, but the old X34 still beats many of the newest VA counterparts for picture quality etc.
I'm seriously considering this monitor, I love everything about it but I think I'm going to wait for the G Sync module version (X34S) to come out - even though it would be a few hundred $ more. I had an Acer 27 predator with the G Sync monitor and it was consistently smoother than the G Sync compatible LG I just bought, I mean it's not terrible but I do notice it as the G Sync module is almost flawless. In saying that I might just end up buying it if the S version is going to be a mile away, I really love the Acer monitors and ive never had a widescreen.
It cannot be heavier processing per frame with a smaller pixel count....so no, not heavier than regular 16:9 UHD but surely heavier than 3440x1440. I will stick to 3440x1440 I think.
Got this monitor a week ago. It's a great panel but unfortunately I have black screen flickering. Using a AMD 6900xt with Adaptive Sync. When my FPS drops below the freesync range it's flickering to black. imagine what happens on menus and loading screens. There is no much people with this monitor so i can't find similar issues. Do you have a AMD card to try ???
@@BodyslamGaming thanks mate. Found more people on internet with same issue. This monitor is slowly entering the market in europe. I had lucky with one of the first. Most shops do deliver it in may etc. ACER needs to take this serious because this is big issue with a expensive monitor that is marketed as a Adaptive Sync compatible one.! www.reddit.com/r/ultrawidemasterrace/comments/lmz1hx/acer_predator_x34gs_adaptive_sync_freesync_black/
The x34s with 200hz is slated to be released in the near future. Accidentally ordered the GS version. :( Idk whether to resell or keep it till the S version is out.
It's up to you. With the S model, you do get an extra 20hz and the G-Sync module but it may be more expensive than the GS. They're both extremely solid options so at the end of the day, it's entirely up to you to make the call
Just letting you know the direct competitor to this monitor is the new Lg34gp950g which also has a 180hz refresh rate but the lg has vesa hdr600 compare to ther Acer one.
it is currently 1800 dollars here in NZ, I am thinking of buying it but just a bit disappointed due to markup that big. you think I should grab it at that price?

I have the acer 31.5’ 4k 120hz hdmi 2.1 and an Xbox series x. I was wondering about three settings and their affect on input lag. I’m trying to get the best setting for fps games. Should hdr stay off? With it on I can only have adaptive sync on. This greys out vrb and overdrive. Should I have VRB on extreme and overdrive on extreme? Or VRB on normal and overdrive on normal?
Is it possible to connect mouse and keyboard to the USB-A Ports and the notebook to the USB-C Port? Will mouse and keyboard be forwarded to the USB-C Port?
Hi, i've bought this monitor few days ago, can you share some good settings about the monitor? What about the overdrive setting? For best results should i set it to "normal", thanks in advance
Thanks for the review. Given AUD and CAD are almost identical trading wise, I can't fathom why someone would shoot for this panel as opposed to an Odyssey G9 which can be had for around $1600 on a sale, which seem to happen quite often.
Does this monitor (The X34 GS) support a 4k input signal on HDMI that the panel will downsample to 2560x1440? This lets you connect things like a PS5 and still have it output 4k and let the monitor handle the image displaying at 1440p. This gets around the issue of the PS5 not supporting 1440P natively. I know some LG panels do this, not sure about this.

is there any benefit over the two or is it negligible
Very helpful. Thinking of pulling the trigger on upgrading my X34 to the GS.
Same...
I fell in love with this monitor - unfortunately it's still not available here. Can't wait to get my hands on this bad boy.

Great job on the video! I have a X34 P right now and I have been waiting to buy the GS when it comes out.
Thank you 👍I just uploaded a new video looking closer into the X34GS if you'd like to check it out 🕹🎮
5:04 you crack me up dude :D very good review btw
Yep just got mine today 1 hr ago.. Amazon got a couple in. Its really nice. Fastest ips ultrawide so far 180 hz.
I only do console gaming with a ps4, so I don't have a keyboard. But this monitor looks awesome. It's just what I need.
Note, X38 screen size is noticeably larger in person. Coming from a X34A. That extra screen size makes a HUGE difference in everything.
X34 had swivel, just not both versions (X34P and X34A). Just to be precise....
Does it support pip mode? Can I plug in 2 machines and use side by side?

I was lucky to get it when I did. While checking stock for the LG34GN850 I was originally gonna get, i saw this and jumped on it
It is available in US at microcenter.
Available in EU too.
Not really "old news" still performs great!
Performance wise, yes. Feature wise/enhancements, falling behind
