Great Vid! Watching this on my X34GS.. Its an awesome monitor for work and play. The response time and refresh rate is very noticeable in games, flick and tracking shots seem much easier without all the stuttering and ghosting from my previous 60hz monitor. Image quality is also great, only thing that is not great is the HDR which looks like when you turn the contrast levels to max.
How is the white / grey color uniformity? Meaning, the LG panels are suffering from a reddish to greenish tint (from left to right). I currently have a LG 34GN850 with this issue using the same panel. Are you seeing this on your unit? Thanks! For reference: imgur.com/a/U4eETI0
@@Beats24-7 Hi, I took a look at your picture and yes I have the same reddish/green tint on a white background. But what I would say, for an average joe like me, it's not an issue and I didn't notice it before on either work or gaming (hopefully this still holds true and I'm not like...aaah I cant unsee the red tint. lol). After using the monitor for a while my biggest con is that the rear inputs are low down on the screen and face up, so if you have a monitor arm if tends on pulling the cords.
Adaptive sync will not stop working beneath 50 Hertz. Instead frame-doubling will be used to simulate refresh rates within the aforementioned range of 50-180 Hertz. For example, at 25 fps the monitor will still work with 50 Hertz and every frame will be displayed twice so as to achieve synchronicity between both values. That is how every adaptive sync display with a large range works, although this will not be the case for monitors with a range of 40-60 Hz or similar.
@hafieyz hafiz If everything works properly, you should not. Playing at 25 fps will still be a pain, though, no question about it. This isn't magic. By the way, if you dip beneath 25 fps, there will even be frame-trippling, 24 fps will be displayed at 72 Hz by the monitor, each frame appearing thrice.
All VRR monitors operate within a specific refresh rate range that can differ depending on specifications of the monitor and the implementation of the technology. For example: A monitor can have a VRR range of 30hz-144hz. This means that if you are getting 30-144fps in your game, your VRR technology will be working fine. If you go below or above this range, your VRR technology will be disabled, and you may notice jitter or tearing. You can find the VRR range on the monitor
For screen flickering on AMD GPUs try to use CRU, and set custom range limits, the similar problem I have with my Dell S3220DGF, luckily problem solved with cru and custom range limits (96-165hz).
If it doesn't work with Freesync they might as well have put a proper G-Sync chip in it. Now you might as well go for the Alienwara. The only downside to that is that it's limited to 120Hz.
120hz isnt good enough, besides that often the gsync modules comes with other issues such as scanlines, added cost, added power usage. I had a monitor with gsync modules and i dont want that again. Rather go full bore 180hz no sync tech, this way you also get the lowest input lag.
This monitor is an Ultrawide that doesn't have black bars when used for next-gen consoles. It's not ultrawide with a console but it doesn't look stretched either. I hit the Ultrawide lotto.

This "black screen" problem is a bug of AMD Radeon Software Adrenalin 2020, if you google "Radeon software adrenalin 2020 edition 20.12.2", you'll see that AMD pointed this problem out. They said this is a "known issue" but seems like they did not fix it.
Very useful videos, specially considering the almost inexistent coverage of this monitor! I wanted to ask you a couple of (maybe too specific) questions: 1) Does the sRGB mode lock the overdrive setting? If so, what level does it lock it to? I tried the LG 34GN850 and it locked it to the medium setting, which is nice at 144 Hz, but 60 Hz sometimes shows some corona or inverse ghosting, specially in darker games such as The Binding of Isaac. 2) Do you happen to know if it accepts a 4K signal to display it downscaled? For example, from a PS4 Pro or PS5. And in that case, can you set the aspect ratio to 16:9? I think I read somewhere that with AdaptiveSync enabled, the option to change the aspect ratio is greyed out and locked to 21:9 unfortunately.
I'm not sure about the sRGB locking the overdrive setting but as far as the ps4 goes, yes. It will take a 4k signal and downscale to 1440p 16:9. Game on! 🕹🎮🖥🖱⌨

So it`s great for nothing else than gaming and true hdr movies. so its not a option for me i must read i must editing in programs. i dont know what to do now. return the amzing x34gs vivid that blooms to much that i am thinking about just go back to x34 due settings for bloom lose som colors . Most importen in everything is basic principles and that did stop continue after the flexscan 2007 model s2411W Eizo that had it all but ofc only 1080p and 61,2 hz but a hell of a panel that consumed to musch power due the world wanted to consume less power du money 2000 offices working in one builiding. I cant se how that tuned out well cuz now we ha pover consume G and its consus more oin 2022. also i love the old Eizo s2411W that has native 16:10 there to not 16:) also 99% full rgb`s with spider ware. omg vivid colors. next was stop was acer x34 2016 due 95-100 hz 8 bit color 21:9 4 ms gsync. 3440x1440
Thanks for the detailed review of this great monitor, may I know the vertical size of the viewable area? currently thinking to stick with a 27 in or move to this beast...
if the vertical measurement is similar or taller, I will buy it, but if its not, then I might really need to think about it....
thanks
I'll check for you tomorrow night when I'm with it again
@@BodyslamGaming thank you mate!
If u want more vertical then 27 inch and want ultrawide get 38 inch 3840 x 1600 it's taller. Acer x38, Alienware 38, lg 38, are your options for 38 inch. Tried the Alienware and lg. Both good but I didn't like the framerate hit from 3840 x 1600. 3440 x 1440 is good for me
will a RTX 2080 run this good enough?
It will 🕹🎮
Wow so as i have 6800XT there is no point buying this display atm. As we dont know if its AMD incompatibility with VRR or Acer issue
Still? not working?
you calculation of input lag is really arguable knowing that you recorded at 50fps
Nice hairdo.
Lol
