- Bought silicone grease due to reading on how to get rid of squeak from hatch in my Rav4 - turns out it has many uses. In this video I show how to improve your car windows if they are slow or noisy with some silicone grease.

My passenger side window was squeaking for the longest time, this fixed it thank you!!
... been using silicone spray for over 40 years, started with the bicycle chain and the shotgun ... I spray under the car all rubber bushings, rings & wiring, engine bay belts, hoses, wiring, inside the car most vinyl and plastic, and all window rubber seals inside & out... works great, does not conduct electricity, cleans, dries and protects ... had not occurred to try it on the windowsills, so thanks ... keep in mind different brands are different types, most sort of feel thick and greasy and stay wet and smell, others are thin and dry up clear right away and don't smell, which I prefer and use for the insides of the car ... there's even a food grade spray, but don't ask me what for ...
Is it safe to use Wurth Silicon Spray on the Engine bay, I want to try it on my car but I'm have doubts due to less results/reviews on the internet.
I’m curious how it helps with the shotgun? I have one as well and never thought it would work for that…
I like your method
@@Joshyyyyyy_18yes perfectly safe just careful not to spray over any wiring and battery etc but for all metal parts and rubber hoses and plastics it’s absolutely perfect
This helped me out alot! Thanks sir!! 🎉
yes service your window guilds... great video...
Just bought some from Amazon, SOUDAL SILICONE SPRAY with detachable nozzle. Good stuff.
I would wipe off any excess, especially if it gets on your paint. But it's great for windows.
Silicone Grease on noisy/slow car windows nice sharing sir
That’s a nice rav4

First test them on your fingers. You want the ones that stay wet and do not dry up. Have used that kind of silicone spray since the early 70s. The stuff that dries up does not last long at all nor works well.
Wat do you recommend then?
@@whiteshark2060 I rarely use it anymore and brands and formulas change. So again, need to spray some on a surface or on your fingers. See if it stays in a slight liquid film or it dries up to a dry slippery film. Yes, some folks prefer the dry and that's ok but you will need to apply it more often. I have some 8 year old can but it seems to not work at well anymore. So again, if a wet film is left, that's what you need. In my shop we used a professional brand from wurth.
@@georgecurtis6463 ok bro having this problem but thought my motor was giving the problem
@@whiteshark2060 well, with windows and motors, that is another ball game. On cars I worked on, one of our problems was that the window regulator would actually bend. Not easy to see but the arm would twist. Or the basic frame would twist and the teeth would not mesh. So at times it's just looking closely and known good parts and compare. Sadly, not easy at times.
@@georgecurtis6463 as u mentioned it my regulator had a bend to it a slight arch I asked a mechanic and he said it’s ok I got some silicone lubricant and sprayed the rubber for the windows but only a slight improvement in speed can the problem actually be the bend/arch in the regulator? Will the window open and close with better speed if I straighten it out also do I put lubricant on the regulator?
Very good video sir. But at 4:22, the passenger's window is still noisy. Maybe if you add in a bit of silicone grease to stop it.
شكراً عمل جيد وتعلمت منك🌹
There’s cables behind the door covers connected to the power window motor sometimes those need more lube too
Tommy V well I plan to replace the speakers in the doors so if I can get to the windows then I will do that too :)
Mine's making the same noise. Do you think this grease spray will work?
It’s worth a try.. if you can when you roll it down try to clean the edges of the window as it can build up dirt also
Clean The Window Tracks first With Rain X Water Repellant and a Detail brush then Wipe Clean with a Microfiber towel. Then Spray Lubricant.
I wonder if if lithium grease would work too. I know it's used by some when replacing the the window actuator.
No...lithium grease and rubber seals don't mix well. Infact lithium grease will degrade rubber/plastics
Yeah lithium is for metal on metal contact
@@REDNBLUEBROS1337 thanks didn't know that!
@@SouthSideChiTown I think the lithium grease might be for the gears of the actuator as it is reasonably tacky and will stay on the metal.
Lithium only metal to metal. Gonna melt rubber ;(
Seems NO difference..... UPDATE?
Help I'm 17 and the long red thing from WD-40 felled down on the windows car from the passenger seat right side to be exact. I'm so annoyed and want to get that shit back but idk what to do my family car is a Mitsubishi 2008 GLX soon to be mine I really want to understand cars because I'm tired of mechanics ripping off my gullible parents.
I think I'm just going to replace my windows
Where is the update you promise ? LooL
@Ossidian Ossidian car doors don't hold liquid lol
To hear and see the results you should do your experiment in a quiet place; all l hear is traffic. Booo !
Your going to get that oil all over your windows. It will drip down in time on the glass. Too much....
It's not grease dude.
You're a douche
Chester Mill that was uncalled for
@@KevAlberta 😂
Why not just do this video on the shoulder of the freeway?
silicon made the noise worse :)
Sorry for my question but
Is car window tinting legal?
It depends on the darkness of the tint and the state or region You’re in
@@IansTech thanks for your time ♥️
The right to keep and bare tint Shall Not be infringed
@@delcroix okay
helpfull video but i got headache after watching your video, try to make videos in a less noisy environment.
Great idea and everything looked good until you held the nozzle down like that. literally a half second quick burst at the top of each side would have probably been ample, lol. you probably have puddles of lubricant inside the doors now which could lead to corrosion
You have no idea what you're talking about. He used a perfect amount
@@RainbowDashie15 Naah, I had the same problem over a year ago (but worse), used a fraction as much silicone spray, and my window is still working like new. But you're welcome to do what you like to your vehicle don't let me dictate, good luck
No puddles. Car doors drain at the bottom.
Silicone prevents corrosion!
ACTUALLY IT WORKS GREAT , BUT THAT BRAMD IS THE MOST CRAPPY ONE U CAN USE, THAT IS THE ONE ONE GHAT WALMART CARRIES, BUY THE WD 40 silicone spray . That’s much better quality
@@tbird81 yes I used both, the quality is crap that you are seeing in this video, the wd silicone spray is just very premium stuff.
Thats way too much....
how would you control using less ???
Silicone is never good around car paint. You've solved one issue and caused another more expensive one.
