Love what your doing and where your going with a RAV4…. I’ve always wanted to put some AT tyres on my 2019 outlander as these mid size SUV’s with 4WD are so capable. Look forward to your next vids.!!
Thanks! Yeah that would be cool. They really are pretty capable. I find the biggest limitation is the angle of approach and departure. But you can still do so much despite this.
I actually have been pretty disappointed with that tire in the clay, mud and slush, looking forward to the new KO3 next year with the wider shoulder gaps.
Yes I do! Sometimes I just don't have time to setup and breakdown a campsite. I just throw down a small air mattress and a quilt and it's pretty comfortable. A rooftop tent would be great... maybe one day.
Again, good quality video 👍 Do you have a lift and what tires do you have? I'm slightly modifying my Rav4 Prime for overlanding stuff. Im thinking wildpeak at trails for tyres, bit not sure how capable they are.
Thanks! I dont have a lift (but would love to get one). I highly recommend the Wildpeak tyres, they've really performed well in all situations on-road and off-road, no punctures and they've lasted a long time. My wheel rims: KMC KM708 BULLY, My tires: Falken Wildpeak AT3W 245/65r17
@@rav4me It is still good mpg tho. Im not sure which i choose, trails or at3:s. Both seems to be a good at tires but they are little bit different. Keep going, you make a good work 👍
Great video it’s inspiring me to get an off road set of wheels for mine. Would you say the off road capability is reduced once the battery runs low? Or in your travels did you find the battery never went flat leaving you without rear wheel drive
Thanks for watching and commenting! I haven't seen any reduced AWD capability when the battery is flat, only reduced torque. I think maybe AWD continues to work even when the battery is flat, but by drawing electricity directly from the engine rather than the battery.
Nice! So many places to go camping... Barrington Tops, Blue Mountains and Jenolan area, Snowy Mountains. This video was in Pennsylvania State Forest. The best way to find places is to use google maps, and the websites for National Parks and State Forests, and then just get out there and explore! 👍
The industry standard all-terrain tires could easily do 12 to 15 psi on the terrain shown in this video. This will give you a much more comfortable ride on these back roads, and a good amount of additional traction when you need it.
Thanks for watching! My tire pressure was around 28psi for this video, I think. I should run at lower pressure, but I find I lose precious clearance height when I drop down much. If only I had a 2 inch lift!
Wow sick video! I love my RAV4 hybrid too wish I had a chance to off road as well. The view is absolutely beautiful! Subscribed.
Thanks for watching, commenting and subscribing! 👍
Its pretty cool to see a stock vehicle pushed to its limits
I love the sound of that electronic parking brakes.
It's always a pleasure to see you. I am also listed in RAV4.
Thanks for your kind words!
Beautiful cinematic style shooting. Envious!

Good to hear someone else's experience with these tires. Thanks for sharing.

I'm curious what your tire size is? Looking to upgrade currently to a bigger size and yours look good, do you have a lift?
I don't have a lift kit yet, just custom rims and tires... Wheel rims: KMC KM708 BULLY;
Tires: Falken Wildpeak AT3W 245/65r17
Have you had any tire rubbing with that size tire? I was looking into getting 235 for that reason
@@Bangincheeks369 when the treads were new there was some minor rubbing at full turn

@@rav4me Can i ask what is your mpg with those tires?
@lassevaananen2027 With the stock tires I used to get 5.6L/100km (42mpg), then after switching to the AT tires: 6.4L/100km (36.7mpg)

@@rav4me thank you that makes total sense I didn’t even think of that
What % would you say the off road driving was done without the engine switching on?
There were a lot of hills this time... maybe 50%? Fuel economy seems to stay the same though.
@@rav4me that's awesome
What brand is your roof rack?
It's a Front Runner roof rack. I've got the details in the description of most of my videos if you need to know the model, etc. 👍
Are these tires Falken Wilpeak AT3 or trail ?

I just bought a RAV4 hybrid cruiser e4. It looks like you're in Australia too. Could you tell me where you go camping? I live in Sydney.

Good video mate! Which rims/tyres are these?

Yes, unfortunately I've been unable to get out on many adventures lately. I'm hoping to change this soon.
