Very good things the Rav4 ijas going for it. No wonder it's the top seller compact suv. Manual controls are my favorite and a smaller intotaintment screen. Toyota reliability and not a visual attention seeker are pluses. I'm not sold on the hybrid mostly for not be willing to try something new, but the savings of gas is definitely sonething worth considering the vehicle for. Good video AA!
Topgun SUV. It’s EOL and old, but still great. Add the roof rack, it’ll look cooler. Thoughts on XLE VS XSE? The all new model shipping later this year will be mind blowing. Considerably larger, more power, better fuel economy, quieter with a vastly improved infotainment system and ergonomics.
For sure! Since I haven’t driven many other trim levels of these I haven’t put much thought into the comparison. Honestly, I cared less about specific trim levels when searching for mine as long as it was Silver, built in Japan, and had heated seats haha. 🤪
Perfect video for halftime 🏉. The Toyota hybrid system & ECVT gives me a feeling of peace. I have had no remorse or buyers blues deciding to go with a Camry. I'm hoping for 15+ years and a good resale if and when that time comes. Although I might trade it in for one of those new flying cars.
I kept this video short just for you to watch it then! 😉 Yeah, there’s a lot of peace of mind that comes from this set up. I’m glad you’re still enjoying the Camry.
It’s totally personal preference. I think they’re handy and nice features to have if within the budget. Hopefully they’re extremely reliable long term. I personally like the sunroof and sometimes filming through it and the power lift gate at times is very convenient. But also I don’t think I would have been that disappointed if my example didn’t have those options.
They were probably on because it was a cloudy day, otherwise I think I just left the stock to auto. And at some points in filming this day the car was turned on, otherwise times off or accessory mode.
The size of this car seems just OK until you start comparing it to a bunch of other vehicles. The rear (second row) seat room and cargo space is larger than you will find on a lot of comparable crossovers, and comparable to a lot of three row SUVs. Cargo space is also very generous and just enough for most scenarios. I would argue the Rav4 hybrids and especially plug-in drive nicer than an Audi Q5 (especially in city conditions) and the Rav has essentially the same front and rear legroom, and nearly 8 cubic ft more cargo space! That's like half a refridgerator in volume. Also has 5 cubic ft more cargo than a 2025 Forester. Getting 65 miles per gallon average over past year with a Rav4 Prime doing a ton of highway vs like the 25 mpgs you'd get with any gas crossover, can't complain about that figure! Saves like 300 gallons of gas per year over many competitors.
I'm curious because you brought it up in multiple videos. Do you have any regrets not getting the last of the 5th gen 4Runner? I'm glad you are enjoying this car. Great content.
But not in Switzerland and probably in all of Europe there is only one tire repair kit. Nevertheless, I love driving my Rav Plugin Hybrid and I don't regret switching to Toyota for a moment after problems with German premium products.
I love the 4Runners and I think a very used one down the road would be a fun project car to build into an off roader. But I made this video a few months back to talk myself out of it, because I was starting to really want one. The fact that they don’t hold up well in crashes was probably the main real reason for why I knew I couldn’t consider it at this time for a daily driver. ua-cam.com/video/tS9HpFeqnQU/v-deo.htmlsi=GcaVNgpdD7L7Ejk3
I walked into the showroom just to browse at the RAV4 XLE Hybrid…..closed the deal and drove out several hours later with the one I saw in the showroom.
I didn’t want a 1.5T model and I haven’t driven the 2.0 hybrid in my own testing. I’m sure that’s a fantastic option like the CR-V has always been. But also with how many people buy and know the RAV4 I wanted to give it a try. 🤪
Great Video! If you’re in the market, the dealership I work is offering complimentary LIFETIME POWERTRAIN WARRANTY in the U.S. I’m in the Midwest so your dollar goes further. Make a “destination purchase” and have a fun road trip home while you learn your new Rav4!
How is the snow driving? Adequate? Okay? Decent? Not very good? I’m looking to buy this or a Forester this spring. I’m retiring to Maine where driving in snow will likely be more common than it is in here in SE PA. Thanks!
Subaru’s definitely manage snow better if both on equal tires. But I think on a winter tire the RAV4 should be pretty decent. In a light snow driving video I made with it had done pretty good, and I have Subaru in the snow videos from last year. There’s a noticeable difference for sure. But now that I have much better tires on mine I’m not worried. But I will say the MPG drop from the oem economy tires to a more substantial tire is very noticeable.
Thank you for your reply. It’s very helpful as I know you’re very knowledgeable regarding both vehicles. I’m really enjoying your videos. Keep up the great work!
Top 5 attributes of the Rav4: Loud ride Hard and bumpy ride Super hard plastic interior very rough transmission Bulletproof engine (because youll blow your brains out from how boring it is)
It looks like they did a better job with the cable, being wrapped up now, you should watch his previous video of RAV4 on the lift, he shows the cable and it looks pretty clean
Thanks for the speedy reply… Perhaps I was looking at the wrong thing, but I thought I saw the troublesome connection and it didn’t look like it was wrapped in any protective material at all… I was surprised, because it was my understanding that Toyota had wrapped it up with protective waterproof material… As I said, perhaps I was looking at the wrong thing?
@@fcs4137 initially they did not and the case was holding water, so they opened it but the cables were exposed, now, there's a cover under the high voltage cable, and the cable itself has a rubber cover and the case has opening so if water gets there it will drain, they did the best design of it so far
I’ve owned 4 Toyotas and I’ve loved them all… I have always been loyal to the brand, the only thing holding me back from purchasing a RAV4 hybrid is the cablegate issue.
The Toyota RAV4 Hybrid has a physical spare tire which is a big plus👍
Yeah, it’s only a donut, but at least it’s there! 😅
We had a full size spare added to ours
that film quality is very good. loving the HDR content
Thanks for watching!!

This is a sweet looking RAV4. Love the black and silver.
Thanks! I love the silver and black look. 🤩

Do you recommend the power sun roof / hatch option?

0:04 how did you turn on the DRL? My projector lights turn on all the time geez...

Hello do you have to charge a hybird like the prime model, thanks.Im thinking of looking at them but new to hybird.
Nope! It auto charges from regen braking and just having the engine turned on.

What about cablegate?
There’s a class action lawsuit because of it.
Hope you don’t mind me asking.

Here's the cable 7:07

Hyundai Tucson hybrid, way nicer, drives smoother, better tech. Toyota designers should start hiring Koreans
