LOL I’m in a 2020 TRD and this is exactly what happened to me on a much more mild trail coming out of creek. It’s because you can’t lock the center differential to send power to the rear when the front is slipping.
Its very capable of getting groceries. I love mine, but I'd never do this with it. He's damn lucky he didn't break his a frame or strip his transfer case. Its entry level overlanding for mild trails. It has traction control AWD, not true 4wd and no lockout.
Think the hybrid model could make it? What difference does the TRD have? Been debating on a perfect camping/roadtripping rig that isnt my 8.1L Suburban 😅
Adventure is stock with some body panel changes, better alternator, wheels, tires and suspension. Its meant for trails, not offroad though. Hybrid has more power due to electric motor, but the batteries are in a vented case under the rear seat and if you get any water in them you'll be having a toxic burn pit bbq.
Damn I was somehow expecting this rav to go right up the gate keeper…. But it’s as expected 😂. I mean , I think they invented low range for a reason. Holy shit poor trans is probably slipping , so hot. I bet with EV they will probably crawl better. No transmission, no t case , no need for gearing ⚙️, instant tq. Just need big tires and clearance. That rock formation at the beginning of the trip was not there a few years ago. I guess the trail is being attempted with inexperienced drivers and rigs a lot more. I recommend getting rid of all that top heavy weight on some of those rigs. It sickens me seeing all those nice rigs getting beat to crap. I would say only a fourth of those rigs belonged on Gold Mountain.
When you got the money to play sometimes those nice rigs that’s what there built for it would be the same as buying a cheaper “budget” rig for those that can only get a budget one for some that budget is just a little more And we explained that in the video especially towards the end we explained for certain ones not to go myself and a couple of the other guys have been there plenty of times threw the years so the newer inexperienced can be accompanied with someone who knows but I agree with you
@@JesseRizo oh I give props but why not just get a truck with better clearance and 4wd instead of something that doesn’t even have 4wd but you mod it to do 4wd truck stuff? Lol the rav4 pretty much costs as much as a Tacoma.
