Yet, for some reason, we don't have any references to the arch-enemy dynamic of Godzilla and Ghidorah. It'd make for a cool entry for Tyranitar or Hydreigon. *Except Hydreigon would win everytime, unlike Ghidorah against Godzilla.*
I'm sad they didn't suggest a rivalry with Aggron instead. Think on it, Tyranitar's rampages are so vicious that maps must be redrawn afterwards, while Aggron dutifully repairs its territory in times of disaster. These two are quite literally opposites.
I mean, I can't say I blame her. Emotions can be really loud and it can get very uncomfortable with so many people metaphorically screaming in your ear (or literally, since actual sound isn't much better as Hatterene's Shield entry mentions).
I particularly enjoyed Magikarp’s Sword entry: It is virtually worthless in terms of both power and speed. It is the most weak and pathetic Pokémon in the world.
Fun fact: In Toxapex's pokedex entry, it talks about how Galar has very cold water. Galar also seems to be a cold region in general, most trainers that are mostly found outside wear clothing better fitted for warm weather (other than the swimmers, but those people are just mentally insane). Galar, in general, is a cold region, thus how so many Ice Types can be found, also explains why there is multiple snowy routes. It could also be a reason for the unpredictable weather in the Wild Area. It can also explain how Darumaka, a pokemon whose feces was literally used as a portable heat source, became an ice type in Galar, due to the intense lack of hot weather (Other than Route 6 and, I assume, the first half of Route 8). Edit: Also, I just noticed something. So you know how depending on the story of events, you get Zacian/Zamazenta, and Hop, your main rival and best friend, gets the other one. Zacian and Zamazenta being sisters- You and Hop has a sibling like friendship, shown how they just enter your house at any time, your mother being perfectly okay with it Zacian and Zamazenta being rivals - You and Hop are considered great rivals. Hop even calls himself your greatest rival. Your even considered his "first rival". Almost the whole journey, or wasnt about becoming to champion, it was about participating in the gym challenge together, constantly testing each other's strength after making progress, assisting each other when facing trouble. Zacian and Zamzenta represent you, the player, and Hop!
The "Skin on Appletun's Back" is most likely referring to those large strips of "pie crust" on its back. As most lizards shed their skin, its probably harmless to them to peel it off and most likely falls off on its own as well. Also, what if the original form the Dreepy were was Diplocaulus?? Their heads look like them, after all.
The Dex said something about Dreepy being formerly aquatic creatures way back when, and coupled with its physical traits that theory makes perfect sense.
My guess to the farfected is because the leek is tied to its fighting spirit. It probably takes a bite after battle/training and the leek grows back due to its energy. When it’s fighting spirit has wilted after a lifetime of battle, the blade will have also wilted. Thus bitting it won’t let grow back but I doubt it would eat a dying/dead leek. Like a rusty sword, it probably lays it to rest, with the sword going back into the earth. Ashes to ashes. Dust to dust…

Alolan Ninetales' Pokedex entry kinda makes sense. In Pokemon Unite, Ninetales has a costume called Shrine Style, which is a winter kimono. And shrines are places where people go to pray for blessings or good luck. This also makes sense if you take the "Origin" section of Alolan Ninetales from the Bulbapedia: "Its mountain habitat and lore as a deity incarnation may be a reference to Poliʻahu, the Hawaiian goddess of snow who is said to reside on Mauna Kea." So that pretty much explains why Alolan Ninetales was worshiped.
it also is a throw to inari, the one who is assosiated with kitsune yokai which ninetales is based on. kitsunes were messengers for inari and soon are worshipped as their own gods now!

with Klink's Dex entry it had me thinking. maybe Klink in Gen 5 is an invasive Pokemon species, it probably is native and from another region but invaded into Unova and was spotted by Unova researchers 100yrs ago

12:47 "This is interesting to me, because I just kind of assumed that regional variants of different kinds would get along, because they're still the same species." Well, first off, no, they are *not* the same species. That's like calling a grizzly bear and a polar bear the same species. Secondly, even Pokemon that *are* the same species, canonically don't always get along.
They are the same species. Regional variants do exist in nature, and comparing grizzly bears and polar bears are too drastic a comparison considering they are not even closely related.
@@hanoianboy9562 Yeah, literally everything you just said was incorrect. Regional variants are from radically different geographical locations within the world of Pokemon, often even different continents. Even if they'd started off the same species, evolution (and here, I mean Darwinian style, not the form seen inside the games) would guide them down such completely different paths that the end results no longer would be. I mean, just look at Darwin's finches: Loads of different species of finch, each located on a separate island of the Galapagos archipelago, separated from each other by only a few dozen feet per island. Each and every one of them came from the same single species of bird, back when the islands were connected to not only each other, but also a continent. By the time Darwin arrived, they'd diverged from each other so far that no one island's species of finch was able to reproduce with any other island's species. *And that's just from being on separate islands within the same island chain.* And, in fact, the only reason regional versions would be so different from each other as to be entirely different types-like one being a fire type and one being an ice type-would be if *exactly what I described above* had happened. Also, no. Comparing regional variants to polar bears vs grizzlies isn't even remotely inappropriate, because you're actually dead wrong about them being "not even closely related." They're actually able to produce offspring with each other. Couldn't do that if they were "not even closely related."

My favorite entry is Duralodon’s that mentions how it fights with Tyranitar, which possibly references the dynamic between Godzilla and Mechagodzilla.
I find duraludon's entry sad because they reconned the Aggron-Tyranitar rivalry, and it would have been very cool to have them three duking it out.

I mean, I can't say I blame her. Emotions can be really loud and it can get very uncomfortable with so many people metaphorically screaming in your ear (or literally, since actual sound isn't much better as Hatterene's Shield entry mentions).
I particularly enjoyed Magikarp’s Sword entry:
It is virtually worthless in terms of both power and speed. It is the most weak and pathetic Pokémon in the world.
That's not exactly a new entry, it's been overused to death since Magikarp was first created. XD

Pathetic is such a harsh word, the poor Magikarp. He wants to grow and become a might Gyrados but yet everyone says he’s _pathetic._
Zacian and Zamazenta being sisters- You and Hop has a sibling like friendship, shown how they just enter your house at any time, your mother being perfectly okay with it
Zacian and Zamazenta being rivals - You and Hop are considered great rivals.
Galar is cold because it’s based off of England
The part about zacian and zamazenta is actually really cool! I would’ve never thought of it like that but I like it a lot
Fairly certain zamazenta is Zack and younger brother not sister
I mean it is based of England it it is quite cold here

The "Skin on Appletun's Back" is most likely referring to those large strips of "pie crust" on its back. As most lizards shed their skin, its probably harmless to them to peel it off and most likely falls off on its own as well.
Also, what if the original form the Dreepy were was Diplocaulus?? Their heads look like them, after all.
The Dex said something about Dreepy being formerly aquatic creatures way back when, and coupled with its physical traits that theory makes perfect sense.
Im happy diplocaulus has a pokemon representation. Diplocaulus is kinda obscure and deserves more attention!

I do believe that, yes, the Dreepy line is based on Diplocaulus.
Wow
So like the 3 critical hits you made is like a fighting spiritual bonding spell? I like your idea!
Too far-fetched, imo. I think the leek is more of food for humans and not for Sirfetch'd. For the Pokemon, it's merely a weapon.

Alolan Ninetales' Pokedex entry kinda makes sense.
In Pokemon Unite, Ninetales has a costume called Shrine Style, which is a winter kimono. And shrines are places where people go to pray for blessings or good luck.
This also makes sense if you take the "Origin" section of Alolan Ninetales from the Bulbapedia:
"Its mountain habitat and lore as a deity incarnation may be a reference to Poliʻahu, the Hawaiian goddess of snow who is said to reside on Mauna Kea."
So that pretty much explains why Alolan Ninetales was worshiped.
it also is a throw to inari, the one who is assosiated with kitsune yokai which ninetales is based on. kitsunes were messengers for inari and soon are worshipped as their own gods now!

*And that's just from being on separate islands within the same island chain.*
And, in fact, the only reason regional versions would be so different from each other as to be entirely different types-like one being a fire type and one being an ice type-would be if *exactly what I described above* had happened.
Also, no. Comparing regional variants to polar bears vs grizzlies isn't even remotely inappropriate, because you're actually dead wrong about them being "not even closely related." They're actually able to produce offspring with each other. Couldn't do that if they were "not even closely related."
I would argue against it because it is Pokémon adapting to their environment, changing how they look while doing so.

Bronzor is based off of the bronze mirror of Amaterasu, which is widely considered the most sacred physical object in Japan and is one of the sacred treasures of the Shinto religion. Bronzong is based off of ancient bronze bells called dotaku. People would use the bells only for decoration and they were believed to have some sort of supernatural power, so they would pray to them for good fortune, good harvests, etc. Just a cool little factoid from an art history nerd. :3
Pokeboomers: "Game Freak is lazy! They have no creativity anymore!"
Me: **pulls out the galar pokedex**
Now if only their animators were as consistently great as their art and dex designers...
"Pokeboomers" I like that term
Corviknight: a raven covered in ARMOR that is strong enough to lift people anywhere.
Inteleon: a god damn secret agent gecko
Orbeetle: a ladybug Pokémon so much better than Ledian it’s not even funny.
Toxtricity: electric poison rockstar!
Me whips out Nintendo switch puts the Pokémon sword game card in then boot up the game load out everything then open up the menu and show them a single Pokémon in my Pokédex
I don't think they are lacking creativity. But I do think they lack care for the fans of their series
Nobody:

That Braviary entry about being the fly taxi is sick it was like an easteregg to Pokemon Legends of Arceus😮
like maybe they knew In the past braviary was the flying transportation so they were like:
"well hey since it was the flying transportation back in the day why don't we make it the flying taxi pokemon"
"No we can't today's day Braviary is a jerk so let's just go with our regions bird"
Sobble: “When this pokemon cries, attackers can not resist crying as well”
Also Sobble: *cries in blue diamond*
Katherine Couch Potato Lapis: I felt worse

8:25: No, actually, it's not that simple, and not that Impossible.
People don't know yet if it's possible or not.
30:30: Buddy, i think what is actually meant is HOW this Form Change actually lets a Symbol appear is the Way to Mysteries about the Form Change Phenomen overall!
Get what i mean? I'm sure about it. Not the word 'Large' but that there's a word now!!
Oh no
Oh no... what if they are fighting side to side in a double battle?
Me with a pangoro and Obstagoon
on my team: Hmm
Fun fact, hippos are the toughest animal in it's region. They're so strong that full grown alligators and crocodiles rather let a BABY happy chew on them like a chew toy rather than fighting back and end up dead. So the dex about Drapion avoiding Hippowdon is no surprising to me.
But imagine if a drapion was forced to face a hippowdon in a pokemon trainer, the poor thing would be terrified!
