Honestly yeah, okay but what if, arceus just copy/pasted new ones for the sake of humans feeling special. No that wouldn't work cuz of the regi's storyline
@@justaotter2085 THE GOAT- oop, what if like it is true, also technically solgaleo and lunala are everywhere because they are the sun and moon, so it makes since that they aren't that rare
Personally, I would discount any scenario where multiple legendary show up as a result of battle towers/frontiers/factories. They seem to me to only exist as an extra post-game challenge
I never really thought about it but I think I always instinctively classified the Battle Towers, etc. as non-canon. I mean isn't it just fan service so we can have some awesome fights against Pokémon we usually only encounter once?!
So here’s my theory with Urshifu. In legends Arceus, we had strong style and agile style for moves. Urshifu could be the last modern Pokemon to be able to use these, single strike for strong and rapid strike for agile. Kubfu’s evolution could simply be it mastering the style.
They were never legendary. It doesn’t make much sense for cyclizar to go from legendary to normal back to legendary through time. They are only legendary because of their importance in the story.
Well, yeah. Koraidon/Miraidon are Paradox Pokémon, not legendaries. I mean, Koraidon could have been considered legendary if there were records and stories of it from ancient times. But it's impossible for Miraidon or anything that literally comes from the future to be a legend.
@@macemierisch6363 That part is totally possible. Natural selection could have made them smaller and weaker but more numerous. But then pushed them into a different niche where they're again more rare and more powerful. Evolution has caused plenty of animal species to get smaller and weaker, and then caused them to become larger and stronger again.
But what about the ACTUAL legendary Pokemon: Arcanine 👀 Edit: Omg I didn’t expect this to blow up! To make things a little more clear on why I made this comment: Arcanine’s actual Pokedex entry says it’s the “Legendary Pokemon.” I know that there’s multiple of them and what not 😅
I think Scarlet and Violet proves an alternative to this theory, I don’t think the issue with Legendaries isn’t necessarily that there are too many, its that legendaries are kinda Samey, you can only have so many “Stoic embodiments/guardians of the natural world that nobly wait for you to catch them after fighting the villainous team leader for the final time” before it gets old, and man has it gotten old. But I love Miraidon and Koraidon, and recently Ogrepon and heck even the Loyal Three because these legendaries feel like actual character and creatures that I’m invested in instead of a really big not quite dragon thing at the back of a 11 x 7 cave.
I never considered ultra beasts legendary because they’re just normal Pokémon from another dimension. There are MANY multiples of them in the games and anime. I completely agree with you
The Legendary Criteria present in the video excludes Koraidon and Moraidon - 2 of them in each game - lore pretty much outright states they are past and future forms of a pokemon that is common to the region, and would probably be common themselves in their own time
@@robertlupa8273 I don't doubt it, we might get more answers in the DLC. personal theory: not past/future, but alternate timelines, perceived as past/future due to the pokemon looking like past/future forms of pokemon we know.
@@-BenGaming-exactly. The Pokémon company says they are legendary so that’s that. Plus it looks like they will get Tera forms or states of some kind (there is a Tera symbol on their Pokédex picture which is the same as Ogerpon’s picture) So these guys have more to offer.
Frontier battle, battle house and the like are not canon, I agree. Use this argument to invalidate Latios and Latias when the Pokédex says this in Emerald about Latias: "They make a small herd of only several members. They rarely make contact with people or other Pokémon. They disappear if they sense enemies." In addition it would make uniqueness to Azelf, Mesprit, Uxie and Regigigas who have no reason not to be unique due to their very strong and important tradition. As much as the Regi have temples in many regions and are just materials that can be reproduced by their creator, as much Regigigas has a high mobility (according to legends he is responsible for continental drift and cannot be recreated). Oh and Entei is canonically not unique according to Argent's Pokedex: "A Pokémon that races across the land. It is said that one is born every time a new volcano appears." Then Heatran is just a gendered beast that haunts volcanoes with no role (certainly not unique).
@@Arcaninos Seriously, I've never heard anyone but him try to say that the Battle Frontier is cannon! That's insane! Also, I have to share these thoughts of mine, otherwise I might go crazy! Ahem... This is one of the most painful Poketuber videos I've ever watched... Seriously?! You're using the non cannon battles with the Battle Frontiers to justify why a ton of these Pokemon don't count as Legendaries?! Also, the double standards with stuff like the Legendary Beasts & Legendary Birds make me want to drink bleach! He gets onto the birds case because they don't have much backstory, even though Pokemon just started as a franchise, so you expecting super deep backstory for why something isn't a legendary is petty IMO. And yet the Legendary Beasts don't have much of a backstory ether, since all that happened was that they died and came back to life, they do nothing for the region after that happens! Look, I get that we all have our opinions, but if he has to stretch THIS MUCH to make his arguments, then that's just pathetic in my eyes... 😮💨
@@LaprasTrainerLiam In any case Legendary is a title for at least extremely rare Pokémon, sometimes with associated myths (but this point is not mandatory) This means that all the Pokémon in the video are either primary or secondary Legendary Pokémon (with the exception of the Ultra-Beast which are common in their world and not recognized as Legendary on The Pokemon Company's communication, although the codes make them specials close to secondary legendaries, probably for balancing reasons as they have high stats and are inspired by invasive species but pushed to the interdimensional) That said, some of them are still unique whether by logic in their lore and function, or because nothing implies that there are more than one. This is the case for Mewtwo, Ho-Oh, Lugia, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Uxie, Mesprit, Azelf, Dialga, Palkia, Regigigas, Giratina, Cobalion, Terrakion, Virizion, Tornadus, Thundurus, Reshiram, Zekrom, Kyurem, Landorus, Xerneas, Yveltal, Zygarde-Complete, Tapu Koko, Tapu Lele, Tapa Bulu, Tapu Fini, Necrozma, Zacian, Zamazenta, Eternatus, Calyrex and Enamorus. Calyrex's mounts may be questionable, but I don't think they are unique, especially since there is no unique horse in the canon, it seems to be interchangeable and taking on the same function. It's not like duos like Palkia and Dialga who each have a different function and are not mutually exclusive. And maybe Cresselia ? Special mention for Solgaleo and Lunala, even if they are not unique on a world scale, are special cases because they can literally travel at the speed of light and transcend dimensions. I mean, if we assume that all planets that could support life in the universe were to be terraformed by a Weather Trio, there would be several (but not on Earth), the difference being that they don't travel at the speed of light and don't change dimensions. As Solgaleo and Lunala are light regulators (one is the embodiment of sunlight and changes night into day and the other is the embodiment of moonlight and can change day into night), there will be as many as there are worlds and there are billions of stars in the universe (not to mention other universes). Cosmog (nebula) -> Cosmoem (proto-star) -> Solgaleo/Lunala (star/solar system), this is just symbolically the formation of the stars. They're just a reflection of something as complex and vast as themselves unlike the other legends.
Battle Frontier, apart from it just existing, shouldn't be counted as canon in any way. Its roster of possible pokemon are largely the same as the player's. If legendaries appear there, then no pokemon is unique, because you can link battle with someone else that also has a legendary. Oh, you think that Mewtwo is unique? Well, my friend has one, and so do I, and you can catch one too, and we can all battle each other. Not a very unique pokemon anymore, is it? So yeah, arguments in favor of the Battle Frontier being canon doesn't track well. The entire Battle Frontier concept is basically just competitive pokemon battling in singleplayer mode.
@@reversehavoc720 he literally just changed the quote, have you not seen the amount of “when everyone’s___” where super is changed into something to fit the joke?
In my opinion, the battle frontier should not count. I don’t think that they are canonical appearances, just there for cooler battles and game balance.
Yeah, he mentioned that legends like Ho-oh or Lugia appearing in games like Ultra Sun and Moon is more for the players enjoyment and accessibility to them, then actual lore. That's how I feel about the battle frontier and such. It's a cool place to do after the main game. But should not be considered canonical to the story of the videogames. It's just for the player.

I wouldn't count the battle frontier personally, it seems like a what of scenario where you can go once regular trainers in the world are not strong enough and you can get a challange.
Yeah like an area where you could imagine the other trainers as legitimate trainers who’ve completed the game same as you. So they would have encountered the legends on their play through. I picture it was an idea of battle frontier trainers were previous players who’ve beat the game.
Anything battle that doesn't give Pokémon Currency (hence Battle Frontier, or the similar stuff in the later games such as Battle Tree of Sun and Moon) don't count as "canon" battles, and hence their teams don't count as well
If you ignore that Emerald, the game that introduces the Battle Frontier, doesn't treat it as a side gig at all. It's introduced very early on by meeting Scoot right after Wally catches his first Pokémon and he is seen several times throughout the game before finally bringing the player to the Battle Frontier as a reward for becoming the Champion. So the Battle Frontier is in fact a part of the narrative of Emerald. This extends to Platinum, where Barry's father is a Frontier Brain.

Theory: the battle factory uses dittos to make it's rentals. They are just pre-transforming them to what was ordered. Argenta is rich and has influence so can rent whatever she wants. This includes research grants to Pokemon professors, data from Bill's box system and Slyphco's pokeball technology
I would also like to note that Buzzwole's Pokedex entry literally says its COMMON in the world its from. And in Ultra Plant (the world where you catch Xurkitree) you can see a ton of large Xurkitree in the background harvesting electricity as just part of the scenery. Needless to say, they aren't rare enough to be legendary in their home worlds.
I feel like there's a running theme in regards to Pokemon not being unique, and that's the Battle Frontier. I feel like for the Regis and the Lake Trio, their lore insinuates that there's only one of each. That's why I definitely think the battle frontier teams are exclusively there for gameplay purposes and are non-canonical. Also let's consider the fact that it doesn't make any sense for there to be multiple copies of the Lake Trio and the Regis. Especially Regigigas.
Okay, the prume Regi example: Og regies: not legendary Weather trio: three buff dudes who fly and can control weather (Rain Dance, Sandstorm, and Sunny Day exist) are, of course, legendary
I can accept that all the Regis beside Regigigas are not legendary, just rare. I can imagine Regigigas creating multiple of them across the eras. But Regigigas should be unique. The Lake Trio also should be unique, 100% agree with you.
The thing is, there a lot of things that exist solely for gameplay but don't make sense, lore-wise (starting with 'hi i'm a 10 yo from an irrelevant town and I captured the God of Time, Space, Antimattier, Land, Sea, Sky and the creator of universe in balls that now obey to me and battle against Youngsters and their Rattatas under my orders just like that random Zigzagoon I got solely for the Pokedex and fill my team on route 1 used to do! :)'). So I definitely agree with this.
I think it makes sense for there to be multiple regis with the exception of regigigas since he's the creator- after all the regular regis have their own caves and rooms dedicated to them multiple regions like hoenn, unova, and now in galar
Ok, everyone knows that the only reason that Mewtwo qualifies as a legendary is because nobody is stupid enough to make a second after what happened with the first.
Also, you'd have to get your hands on Mew DNA or worse in the original game that was changed, an actual Mew and impregnate it with its clone. Does that mean that technically Mewtwo is the Phione case done through science but stronger?
There is a Birdkeeper who mentions three illusionary birds in Gen 1 and that he bets they're birds of prey. Also according to Entei's Pokedex entry from Gen 2 a new Entei born when a new volcano is created. So in that case more than 1 Entei is likely to exist
Id say the entei case is reincarnation. As if how Ho-oh gives them the immortality. Should an Entei die, a volcano is just created and an entei is shot out?
But it's the Pokédex, the same one that says that Gardevoir creates black holes and that Magcargo is hotter than the damn sun. So I wouldn't pay much attention to the Dex
His reasoning for why the 3 beasts are legends makes no sense. Where the Battle Frontier is located has no connection to whether or not there are more than 1. If there's 1 in Johto and 1 in Sinnoh there's still multiple of them, making them not legendary.

I like how in Sun and Moon, you just casually travel to an alternate universe. Edit: For those who don't know what I'm talking about, I'm talking about how on Pokemon Sun/Moon or USUM, you travel through a portal found in the Altar of Sunne/Moone, and you end up in an alternate version of Alola. The region is almost exactly the same, and you can even talk to all of the NPCs, and your mom, as if nothing ever happened. Although technically those are alternate versions of the characters, and that is an alternate version of your mom. And the game stays like that until you travel back through the portal. (But if you're like me and you forget to travel back, then you'll be living in an alternate version of Alola forever.) And the reason I say you "casually" travel to that alternate universe, is because it's so subtle, and literally no one talks about it. But it's very interesting to think that you're in an alternate reality now. Especially with those like me who are fans of the Mandela Effect, and alternate realities.
man that really killed legendary's for me instead of going to a temple and having a mini adventure were you will able to find the legendary pokemon (like mewtwo in pokemon fire red) all you have to do is go to a alternate universe and walk a straight path
I have a fun fact for You:I 💯% believe that necrozma is a dragon 🐉 and its base form has a torso of a dragon’s head 🐉 and that’s why its torso predicts the ultra burst 💥 form of ultra necrozma but necrozma should’ve been a dragon type in all of its forms because it is the third legendary pokemon of generation 7 and every single third legendary pokemon is a dragon 🐉 type in all of their forms except for regular necrozma but once again, regular form necrozma is a dragon 🐉 but just the dragon’s head and torso and why it’s still pure psychic type until necrozma has enough light to return to its original form and becomes the original dragon 🐉 of light 💡 ultra necrozma. This to me makes necrozma my favorite dragon 🐉 type pokemon and yes, necrozma is a dragon 🐉. I also like how necrozma gave light 💡 to alola and creates the islands of alola and ultra necrozma has a cool badass design and it’s easily one of my favorite dragon 🐉 type pokemons and I also love how ultra necrozma saves poipole and poipole’s world from a meteorite and that’s something heroic a legendary pokemon would do.
This is how I say all of the legendary Pokémon groups: The Legendary Kanto Birds - The Legendary Birbs The Legendary Beasts - The Legendary Doggos Ho-Oh and Lugia - The Johto Birbs (I know Lugia’s not a bird) The Regi Trio - The Regis Latinos and Latias - AIRPLANES The Weather Trio - Land, Sea, and Sky The Lake Trio - Weird Floaty Things The Creation Trio - Minerals (Because Diamond, Pearl and Platinum) The Swords of Justice - SPEAR OF JUSTICE (IDK why, I just like that Undertale song a lot) The Forces of Nature - The Genies The Tao Trio - I Forgot They Existed The Aura Trio - TREE, EGG, AND SNEK The Island Guardians - Weird Wooden Things The Ultra Beasts - Aliens The Light Trio - Stronger Aliens The Darkest Day Trio - Good Boys and Weird Looking Dragon Then Everything In Between
The Dex entries state how they got their name. That's it. If you name a Spot and I name a dog Spot, that looks similar to your Spot, it could be the same breed of dog, that's how genetics work. They could be brothers. But if they AREN'T the same species, than what makes every other regional form the same species? Especially when Kantonian Meowth can't become Purrserker. And Kantonian Mr Mime can't become Mr Rime. I look at it that maybe these birds came to Galar and changed like any other regional variant. Maybe they were granted new forms from those berries. Then humans found them, and may not of heard of the Kantonian ones, also came up with the names
Yeah it's pretty fun being trapped in a tiny ball and only seeing day when they have to fight to the death and being sent to the hospital 20 times a day
I think what this video proved was that battle frontiers aren't really cannon in terms of legendaries, and are perhaps used as a challenge to the player. As all of these pokemon (other than the odd one) are intended to be unique and singular
I just wish they didn't feel the need to give us EVERY LEGENDARY in EVERY SINGLE new game/DLC... Like, can't you just take a break for a generation or two? Its not quite as exciting as it used to be when they announce we'll be able to catch every legendary _again._ :/
I’d say the Battle Frontier takes as many liberties as the anime when it comes to legendaries. If they mentioned in game how they got their legendaries would be a different story but, they don’t. So personally, I wouldn’t count any Pokémon in the Battle Frontier for not being legendary.
I agree because even if the battle frontier is a real thing its still mostly for the fun of it and they put the legendaries to make it more intristing I can understand the lore bhiend them if they have none but not the battle frontier
So with the Regis I personally think the lore behind them only applies to the Regis you find in the sealed caves and the ones that the battle frontier uses are ones that get created later by Regigias. That's my personal headcanon
The 3 regis should just be pseudo legendaries. Pseudo legendaries like Dragonite and Metagross have multiples that can be obtained. Still respectable pokemon but not quite on the same level as a full on legendary. Regigias should be a legendary since only 1 is ever obtained legitimately.

I never thought that there only had to be one of each legendary Pokémon. Their populations may have been abundant at one time and have since dwindled. Their classification as “legendary” comes from their prehistoric appearance, rarity, and the folklore developed as a result and handed down through the generations (predating the Pokémon universe as we know it). Their strength is only relative to their place in the evolutionary cycle; having been larger and stronger when competing with other species of the time that were also typically large and strong. Mythical Pokémon, on the other hand, are the ones who are considered to have ethereal powers & capabilities. It would make more sense in that context that there would be only one of each mythical Pokémon.
I agree. I compare legendaries, mythicals, and ultra beast as folktale creatures, and aliens. There can be multiple aliens, big foots, plessie etc; it’s just that we don’t know about their existence.
Palkia dialga and giratina are all godlike cosmic beings that led to the reality we know and there legends they should not have more then one as they are ...well ...gods
Well the thing with legendaries in pokémon is that the big legendaries from gen 2 to 6 are sort of gods. For me what qualifies as legendary is a godlike creature with lore that ties them to some sort of elementary power they control. For me the legendaries are all the legendary pokemon from gen 1-6 exept for the swords of justice and maybe heatran and the beasts since their legendary status isn't from what they are but from what they did locally, something regular pokemon could do as well. Like I don't see how volcarona replacing the sun is less legendary than virizion playing fire fighter. After gen 6 I just think non of the legendaries are deserving of the title exept for necrozma and the regis. Like lunala and solgaleo are just older ultra beasts and they canonically don't really have power over the sun and the moon, and Ho-Oh, Lugia, cresselia and darkrai already fill their roles much better. It makes no sens for silvally to have ever been considered legendary like it's just a starter. The dogs and the tapus are just like the sword of justice they don't have any sort of canonical power and ties to elemental forces and eternatus ... like does this thing even count as a pokemon ?

I don't really like the "There can only be one" restriction on being a Legendary Pokemon. It feels a bit arbitrary and based on meta textual information instead of a good in-universe story reason. If a creature is a unknown outside Myths and Legends, and a region builds its culture around that pokemon's reputation, it is a Legendary Pokemon even if there is a small breeding population hiding out in a hidden valley somewhere untouched by humanity. At least, that is my opinion.
@@spinelsworldxoxo If you mean Noland, then... it's complicated. His relationship with Articuno is only in the anime, and there, Emerald Battle Frontier is located in Kanto. Also... That Articuno isn't explicitly his - they're just friends; Noland once helped them heal thier wings.
There used to be an idea a few generations back that pokemon were decided into 4 groups. 1. Legendary (all the box legends) 2. Mythic (Mew, celebi, jerachi, etc.) 3. Rare (all the other legendary mons like heatran, the regis, deyoxis, the birds, etc.) and lastly 4. Common or just everything else. I agree that there is a legend problem in 2024 but even then, I think instead of letting us get all legends just keeping it to all ‘rare’ mons in the current games would be cool. If you want legendary level mons either buy the game, trade, or maybe let us find them in world like Lugia and hooh
“That’s not lore or backstory.... That’s just amateur Bird watching.” - Quotes Mikey 2020 Mikey 10 minutes later........ “ Oh there was a red or blue Pokemon spotted.... Which is amateur bird watching!” - More quotes Mikey, 2020
Ucatty2 Well all the regi’s are genderless so breeding wouldn’t really work. Also theres no mention of it taking two regigigis’s to make the regi’s in any lore. I think its easier to dismiss the battle frontier as non cannon than to create new backstory for the regi’s to justify them appearing there.
I'd base my definition on how notable they are in their society, such as if a member of their species has done something in the past that made people regard it as a being of legend? If they are literally spoken of in legends and myths, they are fitting of the title. But really that's all it is: just a title. They're living creatures just like any other pokémon (or human). They may be stronger, or have strange abilities, but they are just as much a part of the ecosystem as any other creature.
I also think another good way to determine whether a Pokemon should be considered a legendary is how we refer to its name. If we treat it like a proper noun, or like an individual, then it's a legendary -- the idea being that if it's legendary, there should only be one of them. You aren't catching *a* Kyogre, you're catching *the* Kyogre. As in there's only one, and you're catching it. That's also how a lot of in-game characters talk about legendaries. They tell stories about how Groudon *made* land way long ago, not about how *the Groudons* made land *together* in the past. Like, Unown and Manaphy aren't legendary because you can catch AN Unown, or breed yourself A Manaphy. I think the difference here is that with one, you're talking about a specific creature -- the one that made space or whatever. With the other, you're talking about a *kind* of Pokemon that's out there. Not the specific one you have, but them as a category. Which also means that if you've ever nicknamed a Legendary something silly, then in a manner of speaking, you just effectively gave a god a nickname.
Hey, I love calyrex and calyrex is an amazing pokemon and calyrex is a majestic rabbit jackrabbit pokemon but tbh, calyrex looks more like a mythical pokemon rather than a legendary pokemon due to its role as a king pokemon and it’s design and even more, calyrex shares a same typing in psychic/grass with another mythical pokemon and calyrex possesses the time travel/ability to see the past, present and future similar with another mythical pokemon that is the same typing with calyrex, calyrex is obviously planned to be a mythical pokemon, but was made a legendary pokemon instead to add more legendaries in the DLC. And calyrex is among the best legendary pokemons. Like, calyrex is a overpowered pokemon once calyrex is fused with his steeds, you need to run for your life because calyrex will have you & your pokemons for breakfast.
Theory: All those “legendary Pokémon” at the battle frontier/castle are just dittos. We did it guys, we solved the case. Now MandJTV can put those legendaries cheated out of their status back where they belong.
I kinda wanna see a Legends game set in other regions like Johto as i would love to see what the Legendary Beasts looked like before they died and got reincarnated as the Legendary Beasts, or one set in Ancient Unova so we can see what the original dragon looked like before it got separated into Zekrom, Reshiram and Kyurem unless that was just a thing Pokémon Fusions made up
Great video! I'm glad someone tried to trim down the absurd amount of legends to something more manageable. However, I personally disagree with two of the points you made. 1) I believe that the Battle Frontier/Mason/Hall/Tower/Trees should not count as canon. To me, they're meta content for the player, not canonical battles that the characters go through. 2) I think there should have been an asterisk after "There has to be only one." This primarily is meant to back my previous point, but I think lore should play a more important role in Legendary classification. What do I mean by that? Well I think the rule should be "There can only be one* (*as long as the lore supports it)" For instance: The six Regi's. The legends tell of a titan that towed around the continents with ropes and created golems out of special ice, clay, and magma in its own image. I read this and I believe it implies that the OG Regi-Trio can very well have more than one of each (even if they don't necessarily), so I think your reclassification holds true. However, it does say "It is said to have made Pokémon that look like *itself*..." Which to me says that Regigigas is the one and only. This asterisk would also help reinforce Regidrago's categorization. The lore explicitly states that Regigigas ran out of material and therefore could not compete Regidrago's full body. If he couldn't finish one body, how could there be more than one? Thank you for coming to my TEDTalk
I like to think ALL of the Unown are ONE legendary. It’s pretty cool to imagine a Pokémon you have to collect a bunch of pieces of to battle and catch.
We might see the unown becoming a legendary soon, like you catch all of them, then you go to a specific area, they all come out of the box somehow, become a mysterious looking legendary, then you can fight it and then it can be found in the wild after.
@@LEG4CYGD That’s how Exodia works in Yu-Gi-Oh. If you have all 5 pieces of Exodia in your hand you automatically win but it’s very difficult to do. In the TV show Kaiba summons 3x Blue Eyes White Dragons and Yugi is only about to win with Exodia the Forbidden One.
@@LEG4CYGD It’s a card came. It’s what I played when I stopped Pokémon as a kid because it feels more mature than Pokémon. Basically every card has an Attack and Defense stat and cards can be placed in attack or defense mode and the objective is to defeat your opponents monsters and drain their 2,000 Lifepoints. So let’s say I have a card that has 2100 attack and 1400 defense and you have a card that has 1600 attack and 2300 defense. If you and I put card in attack mode the difference between your attack and mine is 500 so you would lose 500 life points and be down to 1500. But since your defense is 2300 if you put your card in defense mode and I attacked it nothing would happen.
Battle Frontiers should not count as canon. Sure they have characters with lore, but the pokemon they use within the confines are just there for a challenge in battle. Especially in the instance of the Regis. I wholly believe the only reason there aren't multiples of regidrago and regieleci is the lack of a battle frontier in Galar

Use this argument to invalidate Latios and Latias when the Pokédex says this in Emerald about Latias: "They make a small herd of only several members. They rarely make contact with people or other Pokémon. They disappear if they sense enemies."
In addition it would make uniqueness to Azelf, Mesprit, Uxie and Regigigas who have no reason not to be unique due to their very strong and important tradition.
It is said that one is born every time a new volcano appears."
Then Heatran is just a gendered beast that haunts volcanoes with no role (certainly not unique).
@@Arcaninos Seriously, I've never heard anyone but him try to say that the Battle Frontier is cannon! That's insane! Also, I have to share these thoughts of mine, otherwise I might go crazy!

@@LaprasTrainerLiam In any case Legendary is a title for at least extremely rare Pokémon, sometimes with associated myths (but this point is not mandatory)
This means that all the Pokémon in the video are either primary or secondary Legendary Pokémon (with the exception of the Ultra-Beast which are common in their world and not recognized as Legendary on The Pokemon Company's communication, although the codes make them specials close to secondary legendaries, probably for balancing reasons as they have high stats and are inspired by invasive species but pushed to the interdimensional)
That said, some of them are still unique whether by logic in their lore and function, or because nothing implies that there are more than one.

I feel like there's a running theme in regards to Pokemon not being unique, and that's the Battle Frontier.

I've always seen the battle frontiers as being non-canon, or at least a game/simulation. The fact that pokemon are artificially locked to a certain max level and don't gain xp locks it away as something other than the "real world" part of the game in my eyes
I think the battle frontier just serves as the equivalent of secret bosses from other games that don’t follow the same rules as main story.
Battle frontiers are definitely not canon, it's just a post game area for tougher fights and an extra challenge, If u stop playing before it u don't miss any plot
@@Lefom That makes them optional, not non-canon. Canonicity means they exist in-universe, and those facilities definitely exist in-universe as evidenced by us meeting people like Caitlin and Anabel outside of said facilities.
@@Arkx919 The battle frontier makes the pokémon league a joke, the legendary pokémon a joke, the lore itself a mess. It's a place where there are more than hundred trainers stronger than the Champion, and a lot of them got legendary pkm that are unique in the lore, like Raikou/Entei/Suicune, that in my eyes exists only one of each, since the burned tower event and Ho-Oh reviving them happened once and they can't breed. OFC they put some little plot there, like Palmer being Barry's father, but the place itself makes no sense with the rest of the lore
Battle frontier and the battle tower has nothing to do with the lore or story of the games.
They're just there for competetive players who enjoy battling.
What's going on there is in its own universe. Random trainers that are far stronger than the Elite4 or Pokemon league champions et.c.

(But if you're like me and you forget to travel back, then you'll be living in an alternate version of Alola forever.)
And the reason I say you "casually" travel to that alternate universe, is because it's so subtle, and literally no one talks about it. But it's very interesting to think that you're in an alternate reality now. Especially with those like me who are fans of the Mandela Effect, and alternate realities.

You aren't making any sense when you say that mythical/legendary pokemon are folklore, even though they actually exist in the game.
Palkia dialga and giratina are all godlike cosmic beings that led to the reality we know and there legends they should not have more then one as they are ...well ...gods
Makes sense.
I think the criteria are definitely pretty solid, however I think using the Battle Frontier and similar places to rule Pokemon out of contention is a bit pedantic. They're really a bit out of place with the journey you've just taken.
But hey, your video, so your rules! At least you stuck to your guns.

Yea, it doesn’t make sense that Regigigas can be the creator of the Regi’s, and theres more than one of him.
@@jarl_jake2329 ikr
@@jarl_jake2329 It takes two humans to make another one. Maybe The Regigigai(?) have to be a team to make more Regi's of different types.
My main way to go to tell if it's a legendary is: "Is this pokemon immortal?"
Ash is legendary confirmed
@@skaionex fax👏
Damn, Argenta... You may be the one trainer that could actually beat Tobias!
We only know 2 Pokemon of Tobias right? He could have more Legendarys than we know

Kalos too.
Hey, I love calyrex and calyrex is an amazing pokemon and calyrex is a majestic rabbit jackrabbit pokemon but tbh, calyrex looks more like a mythical pokemon rather than a legendary pokemon due to its role as a king pokemon and it’s design and even more, calyrex shares a same typing in psychic/grass with another mythical pokemon and
calyrex possesses the time travel/ability to see the past, present and future similar with another mythical pokemon that is the same typing with calyrex, calyrex is obviously planned to be a mythical pokemon, but was made a legendary pokemon instead to add more legendaries in the DLC. And calyrex is among the best legendary pokemons. Like, calyrex is a overpowered pokemon once calyrex is fused with his steeds, you need to run for your life because calyrex will have you & your pokemons for breakfast.

Well I think the rule should be "There can only be one* (*as long as the lore supports it)"
For instance: The six Regi's.

I like to think ALL of the Unown are ONE legendary.
It’s pretty cool to imagine a Pokémon you have to collect a bunch of pieces of to battle and catch.
We might see the unown becoming a legendary soon, like you catch all of them, then you go to a specific area, they all come out of the box somehow, become a mysterious looking legendary, then you can fight it and then it can be found in the wild after.

Give Type:Null some time, they too can destroy their lab. Especially if Gladian is involved.

In that case, let's reverse engineer Mewtwo. We already have a base, being Mew, and an end result to aim for, being Mewtwo. Perhaps the equipment used to create Type: Null can be modified into creating Mewthree?
