I’m an 83 year old lady! When considering food. Always think of your body as a holy temple. Gratitude for life. You won’t even consider cheating yourself about what you put into your body…Just a bit of “food for thought.”😊
So true. The problem with this is that ppl aren't aware the food is harmful so they believe they are nourishing themselves with poison. You must learn to listen to the God within for discernment.
Eating is simple, if you have to read a label don't eate it. Am 68 don't save money on my food. My meal ate plan for a month on a excell sheet. I know exactly what goes inside me and at 68 I feel better than at 38. God bless great advise. Eat wise.
My bride has early onset Alzheimer's with significant dementia. Lately I been putting a tablespoon of 100% organic cacao powder combined with lions main fruiting body and mycelium into her morning bullet proof coffee (I use MCT oil, organic A2 grass-fed butter, filtered water and organic hopefully mold free Palestinian coffee ) and a Tablespoon of cacao in her evening goat milk yogurt. Her decline does seem to have stopped and she seems to be more engaged despite her aphasia. Now if I can just get her glucose levels under control. Even on high fat, medium protein, low carb keto-flex diet and fasting 16 hours a day her glucose levels are 110 -140. She's thin as a rail and just laughs at me saying, "That's cause I'm naturally sweet!" Anyway, this is more great information to use in our battle to fully reverse this disease. Thanks for all you do Rangan and Dr. Li.
There is only so much you can do with diet to manage blood sugar, and it sounds like you are doing an amazing job. It might be worth chatting with your bride's doctor about this to see whether medication is needed.
You are an amazing partner. I am blown away bu your love and care for her. Godspeed to you and your beloved. And I read about Dr. Mary Newport who improved her husband’s condition greatly by giving him a spoonful of coconut oil every day.
Simply fantastic medical conversation, medicine is switching gears like never before, from conventional medicine to functional medicine, from functional medicine to Regenerative medicine( through food). Thanks to both of you for sharing thought provoking insights 🙏🙏
I have read many books, I listened to many UA-cam videos by many of the world's leading gurus and health experts but nothing came close to the hidden herbs by anette ray. I recommend everyone giving it a read.

I observed something , at a childrens camp i helped as a cook . Evenings came and supper was always a warm cocao drink for the children , Bed time came shortly afterwards, calm and quiet ,settled quickly , Then we changed the drink , to Milo . We as adults noticed , it was harder to settle the children , by at least an hour to 2 hours of restlessness and overstimulated , We changed back to cocao drink, things went back to managable, i now consume cocao and cloves, made into a drink ,at night and sleep extremely well on it , cheers ❤
I greatly appreciate Dr Lin putting out truths for people to stay healthy. I've been eating more healthy little by little and have found your channel along the way. I like how you said that eating healthy can be like a creative artistic endeavor. I agree and this is how it has been for me. I have been enjoying food more than I have in years. The average person around where I live considers healthy eating like a punishment. That's too bad, but I am happy that I have discovered this.

Chocolate hack: Go to the baking department (not the fancy expensive specialty chocolate bars) in the grocery store and locate Ghirardelli 70% if you need to have sweet or 100% cacao. They are only $3.25 for an 8oz bar. Also, the lowest cadmium, arsenic, & lead (consumer labs tested).

Well I overeat because of addiction..reducing the amount of food on the plate does not work for me. But cutting out sugar and implementing a rule of not snacking after dinner and intermittent fasting worked better...besides choosing whole plants food and reading food packages to avoid ultra processed food
I have to treat myself like a child. I make rules. Only eat organic. Never eat after 6p.m. Never eat anything with seed oils (so if you are at a buffet or meal made by someone you cant trust to use top quality food just say you have an upset stomach and can't eat). Never eat foods with added sugar. If you follow those rules without exception your diet will be perfect.
Dr. Valter Longo at USC has been studying this for years fasting effects a 're-set" of immune cells. I have kept three simple rules to avoid over-eating and I have never been overweight: If you see your favourite treat in the supermarket and can't resist, say to yourself 'I can always buy that tomorrow, I don't need to have it today' - because half the temptation is that you feel this is the last chance you'll ever have to eat it - and it isn't. Secondly, before having a meal or snack, ask yourself, 'Am I actually hungry?' and it not, delay eating for an hour or two, even if it is 'time' for that meal - you don't need it. Thirdly, don't eat a big meal in the evening if you are not hungry - it won't do you any harm - have half a sandwich or an equivalent if you feel slightly hungry. These rules have worked for me and I love my food. To eat when you are actually hungry IS a pleasure!
After my shower I turn down the temperature to cold for 2-3 minutes. I feel soo invigorated after it. I used to feel tired after a shower. Now I have more energy. I also put cayenne pepper on my food. C. Pepper gives off 4 BTUs
Best tasting olive oil I ever tasted was at the Spanish step’s Mac Donald’s in Rome olive oil packets for a Cesar salad , it’s all they had at 10pm, but surprisingly delicious
I grew up eating Cantonese style cooking where we sautéed and steamed our vegetables. Olive oil has a very strong flavor that does not complement our style of cooking. I learned about Pecan Oil about 7 years ago from a doctor who turned chef on a PBS channel. It has equal or higher smoking point than Olive Oil. It has a higher viscosity than most commercial oil such as canola or vegetable oil which means I need less as I cook. Most importantly it is not chemically processed, but mechanically pressed which is better for my health. Also, it has a mild flavor which enhances my sautéed food. I’m curious to know what Dr. Li think of Pecan Oil as a physician and health expert.
Yes, decaf coffee still contains all the polyphenols just like regular coffee. Just don't put sugar & cow's milk in it. The polyphenols won't be absorbed by the body due to cow dairy. Plant milks like almond, soy, oat are OK.
Decaf contains 3% caffeine, but so much less than the caffeinated coffee. One thing to note, many drs recommend eliminating all types of coffee if you are old or have cardiovascular/circulatory problems.
“One size doesn’t fit all” vs. “we all have the same metobolism.” One of these is wrong. Besides, hunger levels vary, and research says hungrier people eat more. You can control hunger for a period of time, but in the end hunger always wins out. Maybe I wouldn’t have believed it, had I not developed a chronic illness. All of a sudden my hunger levels spiked, and I, who had controlled my weight for decades, gained weight like crazy. It’s much better now that the illness is under some control.

For me, "Its ok to eat crap every now and again" does not work. Its ok to cheat on your partner. NO. Its ok to shoplift. NO. Some things don't work ever. I have a hard time trusting people who say its ok to do things that they know are wrong.

I regret eating out every time it happens. For some reason I feel the need to remind myself of this every couple months. Last time it took 2 days to feel normal again. It's crazy how bad American food is for you, and how much you don't realize it until you quit eating it.
For @PapaCriss: Please confirm that your wife's Vitamin D level is OPTIMAL (not "normal," which is just a measure of the population, sick as well as healthy). The earliest symptoms of Vitamin D deficiency include those of dementia, and because we spend so much time indoors, deficiency is rampant. He’s wrong about saturated fat there is no saturated fat in a clogged artery. It’s all the damaged oils, processed foods, sugars. etc. also 95% of heart attacks is from a blood clot not a clogged artery. Guru. Take Nattokinase
I don't understand how nuts, seeds, grains, etc can possibly be assumed to be considered good for a leaky gut and the endothelial layer as they can be abrasive even if highly processed, while fats and oils are well-known to be lubricants. Makes no sense to me.

I’m an 83 year old lady! When considering food. Always think of your body as a holy temple. Gratitude for life. You won’t even consider cheating yourself about what you put into your body…Just a bit of “food for thought.”😊
❤

Li.
Someone told me they were giving their Mom coconut oil and it helped. He used to spread it on her toast instead of butter in the morning.
For blood sugar leveling try Indian cinnamon. I put a LG dash in morning cup of coffee
Very meaningful. How active is she throughout the day?

It never ceases to amaze how scientists cannot see that nature does it best
Always read the ingredients!!
Healthy fats best for frying. Etc. Coconut. Butter. Ghee. Lard. Etc.
Thank you for the great information 🔥❤️🔥

Is decaffeinated coffee still beneficial? Unfortunately, I can't tolerate caffeine

All of a sudden my hunger levels spiked, and I, who had controlled my weight for decades, gained weight like crazy. It’s much better now that the illness is under some control.
