The episode is called "We Light the Way", which is the phrase of house Hightower. Queen Alicent wearing the Hightower green for the first time is a signal of her character's inflection point: after learning that Rhaenyra has lied to her face many times, and realizing her dad got banished for telling the truth. This is only the beginning of the real conflict regarding the Targaryen Civil War.
I've seen a lot of folks say Joffery "deserved it" or was asking for it but like, its very clear that he wasn't trying to threten Cryston, he was trying to clear the air and say they should look out for each other. Tasha you’re right. Jason and I think his name is Tyland Lannister are twins. That was mentioned when Jason met Rhanerya. Tyland is on the small council of the King. For the time skips, they have 172 years to cover. So far we’ve only gone 4 years. So depending on how they cover it, it could last for several years.
They're not covering 172 years. They're covering the story of a civil war called the Dance of Dragons. This first season is a prologue covering 30 years of backstory and they've confirmed that the show will be 3-4 seasons. The actual war last only 2 years. They've stated that this war is what the show is going to cover, there is no guarantee they will turn it into an anthology series, that was just speculation by an interviewer.
I don’t think Alicent’s issue is about Rhae’s loyalty. She realizes that Rhae isn’t as honest/truthful as she once believed and as her father told her would kill her children (and lie to her face about their safety) if she doesn’t gain support for Aegon’s place on the throne (the significance of the green dress btw). She was silently declaring her position and seeking support for the throne.
Alicent now has kids with the king and the circumstances leading to this don't really matter anymore because things played out how they did. I don't think if the roles were reversed Rhaenyra would go against her house for Alicent. The king told her not to say anything to Rhaenyra and her father wanted her to get close to the king. Rhaenyra lying to her and sullying herself are small in comparison to what's most likely going through her mind. She probably had hope for their friendship and hope that she won't do what every other ruler does when it comes to people who challenge their reign but when she realized Rhaenyra lied to her face on her mother's grave she realized what her father told her was true. Otto is a sneaky bastard for sure but I don't know why people are acting like girls in Alicent's position have much of a say. PS. "We Light the Way" are the words of House Hightower. This episode, particularly that dress scene was meant to signify that Alicent is clocking in.

I think Criston just snapped at the disrespect and the emotions from being rejected...it was just too much.
Ser. Criston did not know about the agreement Rhaenyra and Laenor made. The dude was only saying we can keep each other secret. But ser Criston like a fool spilled his guts to the queen already and he didn’t want to be a side thing.
Laenors boyfriend and daemons wife paid the same price should have kept their mouths shut. Dude was trying to pull a string that he shouldn’t have. He didn’t know Cole from a can of paint.
Totally agree on that RIP Joffrey Lonmouth Sometimes you need to stop talking and learn how gangsta a dude is before you start whispering in his ear. Also Daemon’s wife wound up talking her way into an early death. It’s jacked up but it is what it is.
I think this show is going to be a sort of anthology of Big moments in Targaryen family history. Almost like the Crown but if it was about the entire British royal history
I loved the young actresses, I think they have done such a good job and while I havent read the books I'm looking forward to when the civil war kicks off and knife come out for everyone. I think Rhaenyra is seen as a sweet girl, but when shes grown shes gonna do anything to protect herself been queen and her kids.
Maybe Criston saw Daemon and Rhaenyra on the dance floor and put it all together. He realized that Allicent was asking him about them (he walked past them that night in the alley) and that Rhaenyra has been fn around with more than just him. Also pissed that he snitched on himself.
The Dothraki say a wedding without at least 3 deaths is considered a dull affair. With this one they got all 3 so it’s anything but dull. Her friends with benefits relationship with ser Criston is pretty much dead, Joffrey died and the friendship between Rhaenyra and Alicent well…
Leanor is supposed to be a year younger then his sister leana (in the books it doesnt say anything about him having gone to that war in the stepstones)

to be fair, he couldn't get rid of daemon in front of everyone, because the reason he kicked daemon out was for theoretically taking his daughter innocence away like that, so it's technically a secret he was kicked out. if he made a move against daemon in front of everyone daemon could easily make a show of it and it could make more problems. it's best daemon is dealt with in private because of the situation that got him kicked out. that said...i also felt the same way lol like get this man outta here right now
So a boss like D out here murdering wives, kings guard out here ready to commit suicide after murdering noblemen, and Queen declaring war with drip like...can we talk about R got that good good😏
Damon is trash and the number 1 reason that the King is weak. He has Rhaenyra thinking she can do whatever with no consequences. She is strong but he is in her head. Joeffry going up to a Kings guard & letting him know that he knows his secret was stupid - I knew he was done - just didn't expect it to happen during the wedding. If Kristen didn't do it, some else would have. I was on the edge of my seat during this whole episode - it was so awesome!
This shit is wild. Intense looks and stares around the room double meanings. Shit is tough. What’s unfair is Laenor loses someone who is very important to him and Rhaenyra does not. Even so she would choose her uncle before she chooses Christian Cole because of status a high house suitor. I really real for Cole he got his broken but buy doing doing this The only person who knows when her secret is Cole Laenor herself and Alicent where as The people who know about Laenors secret are his mother his father Cole Rhaenyra himself and probably soon to be Alicent and we all know if the queen finds out she is definitely going to use it against Rhaenyra in some way.

Ser. Criston did not know about the agreement Rhaenyra and Laenor made. The dude was only saying we can keep each other secret. But ser Criston like a fool spilled his guts to the queen already and he didn’t want to be a side thing.
He did know. She told him on the boat. He declined on the boat. Her side piece position is vacant. She's screening applicants.
Tasha, I agree with you. Rhaenyra and Alicent does seem like they had something, that is why Alicent is acting that way.
16:12 he literally tried to borderline blackmail him. Lmfao. That’s why
i NEEEED y’all to react to yellowjackets, y’all would be hooked im telling you
Laenors boyfriend and daemons wife paid the same price should have kept their mouths shut. Dude was trying to pull a string that he shouldn’t have. He didn’t know Cole from a can of paint.
Totally agree on that
RIP Joffrey Lonmouth
Sometimes you need to stop talking and learn how gangsta a dude is before you start whispering in his ear.
Also Daemon’s wife wound up talking her way into an early death. It’s jacked up but it is what it is.
Yes
FACTS
I was enjoying all the gossips and looks in the wedding than shit happened to reminds me wich show i was watching lol
Did yall completely miss y she had the green dress on?
For real for real
Alicents green dress is basically a declaration to Rhaenyra: “I know what you did you bitch. And Oldtown is with me. Don’t fucking forget that”
Commentary was on point for this reaction xD
I think this show is going to be a sort of anthology of Big moments in Targaryen family history. Almost like the Crown but if it was about the entire British royal history
You guys got the issue with Rhaenyra's children half right. The Mad King was Aerys II. The older actresses take over from the next episode.
Criston went beast mode, that what happens when a knight lose their honor
They couldn't even wait a full six hours with out acting up 😂
I loved the young actresses, I think they have done such a good job and while I havent read the books I'm looking forward to when the civil war kicks off and knife come out for everyone.
That wasn't Cole that walked pasted them. That was Harwin Strong
Trey, look at all of that hang time. You’ve come such a long way since you started your hair journey!
It's not the worst wedding in history. Only one person died at this shindig, lol.
Corlys just straight pimping man i love it!
Lady Royce....from the Vale. Ahhhh must be where Lord Royce in GOT from the Vale comes from. Same house. Got it!!!!
About your their about Rhaenerys and Alicent... she did say she found goose "greasy"... So....😂
And Corlys invited Daemon
I’m with Tasha. Daemon is a 6’1” 170lb tornado. I wouldn’t want my G near anything. 😂
18:23 Thats EXACTLY what I thought. I was thinking Alicent kept Criston from killing himself so he could still mess around with Rhynera and possibly have kids with her then use that against her down the line.
This was a great reaction guys. I really enjoyed it!!
He's not the one she'll have children with.
nope. not his kids. Sir Criston is a dangerous dude, skill wise up there with barriston selmy
@@KARASCOUSIN no he’s not ahaha he’s good but he’s not up there with barristan more like Victorian Greyjoy or someone like that not fucking barristan lol
@@daquaviousbingleton9763 nope. Dude beat up Daemon with a mace, who was considered one of the most dangerous man at the time. Never lost in combat and didnt just beat his opponents he would beat them to a pulp, barely living, many ended up as cripples, Think of someone with the skill of Jamie lannister but with the ferocity and disregard for life like the mountain. The Kingmaker is no one to be fk'ed with .
@@KARASCOUSIN Ik who he is but he’s not even regarded as top 10 in Westeros histories neither is Daemon…
Joffrey in the game of thrones mentioned Rhaenyra and what happened to her
It's a huge spoiler alert. Ha
SEA SNAKE DAUGHTER MOVING TOO FAST FOR ME TO LOL
They twins sis laena and laenor❤❤ love yall and his name was Dario Naharres
The green council!!!
I know y’all ain’t read the books but I CANT WAIT for The Winter Wolves to enter the chat! That’s all Ima say!!
Same
14:58 Viserys lost several of his fingers from his illness.
YOOOOOOOO TASHA SAID WHO INVITE DAEMON TO THE COOKOUT LMAO
The younger actresses said that they weren't even allowed to talk to the actresses that plays their older characters. I think they did that to show that these two older actresses are going to be totally different from the younger characters in every way. Either way I rather see how it goes with the older actresses before I judge
Also in the preview trailer Rhaenyras husband is holding the youngest child so it looks like they still have an understanding
yall gotta show reaction to preview trailer
Cole out here catching feelings... city boys we took a L on this one
He finna get back at rhaenyra. Its a fine line between love and hate.
These guys didn't realise the significance of who was really getting married.
to be fair, he couldn't get rid of daemon in front of everyone, because the reason he kicked daemon out was for theoretically taking his daughter innocence away like that, so it's technically a secret he was kicked out. if he made a move against daemon in front of everyone daemon could easily make a show of it and it could make more problems. it's best daemon is dealt with in private because of the situation that got him kicked out. that said...i also felt the same way lol like get this man outta here right now
@13:51 Agreed. Laena Velaryon like rough necks 😮
Ight tre and Tasha let’s get it
The Lannisters are twins. Tyland and Jason
That guy touched his manhood as he went by him. That’s what lead to the fight.
So a boss like D out here murdering wives, kings guard out here ready to commit suicide after murdering noblemen, and Queen declaring war with drip like...can we talk about R got that good good😏
So yal not doing rick and morty no mo?
Rhanerys boys belong to Harwin Strong not Criston
Next episode will be another huge time jump. I think they cast another whole set of actors to play them. Is going to feel weird.
You said distant cousins...lmao
Nope. Daemon and the 'Queen who never was' are first cousins. Can't be closer than that...lol
Lmfao
MY PEOPLE MY PEOPLE 7:50 LOL 11:25
16:27 😲
Criston not the baby daddy y'all! That's all I'm going to say lol!
Trey getting that leanor hairdo on the way, you falling behind tasha
oh yeah hes gonna hate her alright. saying no to that dude gonna come back to bite her forever.
Rhaenyra will also have a son named Aegon tho 🤐
