I think Alicent's deal is that bastards were going to be put before her children in the line of succession. Even in the book Rhaneyra's children were normal looking without an apparent trace of Valyrian blood in them. When Alicent's children were full Valyrian looking, blond white hair and purple eyed.
She doesn't want to leave her children's lives to fate. Rhaenyra is a Valyrian married to a black Valyrian, but with dark haired white kids who we're told look like Harwin. Even over in Essos people know what's up. Alicent is also a traditional woman with certain morals. Rhaenyras adultery is simply unacceptable in and of itself. She has all but guaranteed war by having Harwin's bast-rds.
Larys just trying to obtain power. Much like the convo that Corlys had with Daemon about being second sons, Larys stood to inherit nothing really. His father was the hand and Harwin was the heir to Harrenhall. Not to mention his deformity (think Tyrion in this sense). His options are very limited. Essentially he has to make his own way how he sees fit and apparently he saw it fit to off his father and brother to achieve this goal lol
Not really Alicent knows if she can prove the kids are bastards they will all be disinherited including Rhaynera so her son would then be heir so she doesn’t really give af about her love life just wants her son on the throne thought that was obvious

I actually wouldn't be surprised if Allicent has not been with any but the King
Daemon is killed in a dragon fight over Harrenhal with Aemond, Alicent's second son, who also dies. Rhaenyra is eaten by her half-brother Aegon's dragon on Dragonstone.
Did anyone else realise Viserys has become just a figurehead. Alicent is who's really running things because why the fuck is Cole still a Kingsguard? And Harwin was immediately taken off as Commander of Citywatch? I knew Larys was going to be a problem when they introduced him in episode 3 and he chose to sit with the ladies to hear all the juice.
I think it's important to look at the events of this series from the perspective of the time period that inspires the work. This isn't a free love, 2022, open marriage, feminism time period. This is Middle Ages. People hate Alicent, but really, Alicent has been giving Rhaenyra great advice throughout this show and all Rhaenyra has done was scoff at it. Aemma says in episode 1 that a woman's battlefield is the birthing bed. She wasn't just giving us HER opinion, that's the opinion of the vast majority of women of that time. Regardless of how she found herself in her situation as queen, Alicent is very "become a quality woman, find quality husband, perpetuate the bloodline" minded. So when her friend whom she cares about is a smelly dragon rider who doesn't appear to take studies seriously (Episode 1), skips out on an arranged tour where all the high value men of Westeros come to deliver their husband sales pitch (Episode 3), "potentially" ruins her maidenhead (Episode 4), definitely ruined her maidenhead and puts a knight in a position where he'd get either castrated or killed (Episode 5) and then starts a bastard factory with the chief of police (Episode 6), it's kinda understandable why Alicent is angry and disappointed. On the last point of the Bastard Factory, what we have to remember is what Rhaenyra is doing is a big "Fuck the Septa" to the realm and an act of treason. Bastards cannot hold land or titles and Rhaenyra has made three and plans to name one heir to the throne. Remember the OG Game of Thrones and what happened when the realm found out Joffrey was a bastard? The realm went into a 5 way civil war. She's WILDIN. Only a fool would agree to Rhaenyra's betrothal proposition.
The king know them ain’t laenor kids but as Always trying to keep the peace keep it chill keep it cool I’m not starting up no fuss because he still loves his daughter but Alicent can see through this they look too much like her guard for no one to notice and that’s why she made that comment I’ll keep trying maybe one will look like you

I’m so sad Laena went out so soon I knew she was gonna die but dang. The Velaryons were dragon riders in old Valyria so she could’ve tamed Vhagar regardless. She was so cool!
The Velaryons were NOT dragonriders. Their power was always ships. They left Valyria long before even the Targaryens. The name Velaryon is derived from Valyrian. (The Westerosi called them Valyrians for so long it became their family name.) Very few Valyrian families were dragonlords. The Targs were only a minor dragonlord house, until they managed to outlast all others.
"Why do you care?". Well. In their world, and in our own some hundred years ago, bastards were something that was, let's say frowned upon. Marriage was a sacred thing (Atleast officially) and having kids outside of that marriage was a no-no. That's not mentioning lines of succession to the throne etc. Really thought you might have worked that out already. This show isn't set in our 2022 world, lol.
Alicent : When you're just trying to call out the family th0t, raise an actual man, and hold the realm together through male primogeniture but the audience hates you. Nah but lol jokes aside Rhaenyra totally made that offer out of the kindness of her golden heart and pure generosity. It totally wasn't because she is trying to entrench the claim of her illegitimate son. No sir. A flimsy marriage alliance is not gonna save Prince Aegon & Aemond’s lives if Rhaenyra’s spawn by Harwin takes the throne & ppl start calling him what he really is. Blackcest fans swearing this time the Girlboss Queen they support won't turn out to be a complete psycho. Insert Always Sunny in Philadelphia Pepe Silva gif.
Alicent isn't sleeping with Larys Strong. And of course Alicent is up in Rhaenyra's business. Right now, NONE of Rhaenyra's bastard kids have any rightful claim to the throne. By all rights, Rhaenyra should be either put to death or banished for her lies and infidelity -- no matter if her husband was okay with it. That's just how things went back in the day. 🤷♀
But Rhaenyra's kids claim is through their mother, not their father. Hence why when one would ascend the throne they would change their name from Valeyon to Targeryan. It shouldn't matter who the father is but of course due to the time portrayed it's scandalous to have had children from a man other than her husband.
@@zanetapenny8388 The kids are Harwin Strong's kids, not Laenor Velaryon - meaning the whole "they would change their name from Valeyon to Targeryan" doesn't apply here. The kids have no claim, even through their mother, because they are bastards, born from an adulterous affair, and bastards cannot be Kings. You see, adultery can be grounds for death/banishment in Westeros when PROVEN. Also, Rhaenyra's lying about her kids royal lineage can be considered treason and also grounds for death/banishment.

In the book, it's never mentioned who killed Rhea. For TV, they made sure it was Daemon. But we now know Larys is the one who killed Harwin and Lyonel. Why would Daemon kill Harwin? They're homeboys who fought together with the City Watch and Gold Cloaks. And Daemon fought next to Laenor and happens to be his nephew and brother-in-law.
I swear if someone slips on a banana peel, Mushroom will find a way to blame it on Daemon.

Frustration & jealousy have caused Ser Cristin & Alicent's personalities to completely change! They are both weak.
Viserys out here looking like the crypt keeper missing his whole hand. Idk if it fell off or he chopped it off lol
Aegon the Conqueror was the first one to burn Haren the Black in Harrenhaal during his conquest.
"When the sun sets your line shall end" is the hardest line in the entire story.
I swear everyone was petty this episode besides the King lol
Not really Alicent knows if she can prove the kids are bastards they will all be disinherited including Rhaynera so her son would then be heir so she doesn’t really give af about her love life just wants her son on the throne thought that was obvious
@@daquaviousbingleton9763 I understand the reasons for her actions but as a viewer she still comes off as petty to me. Too many ppl been talking to her ear including her father to get her to act this way

Good point Viserys and Queen Allie could have had kids with darker hair with her genes. They got lucky they all have the silver hair
Not thaaat true. I mean, in the books, the hightowers had some Valyrian blood on their veins. And there were cases like Rhaenys (Corlys Wife) that was part Baratheon and had dark hair. It is a technicality but still...
Rhaenys was born with black hair cause her Baretheon beat out her Targeryan genes, but from 2 Valarian descendants it would be 99%
Exactly. There is dominant and recessive genes in play here. So one have to assume that the hightowers had some of the Valyrian recessive gene's.
@@marcomendez5412 not true, Hightowers has 0% dragon blood/valyrian blood, they're an ancient Andalos house.
@@V_i_vi_an I thought that since it is said that the base of the hightower of old town is made of the same material Valyrian stonemason used, it was plausible that they could be related. Either that or that was the farthest their ships ever sailed as far as World of Ice and Fire tells. Either way, I'm no so sure so you could be right, still, what Rhaenyra did was the same as Cersei, it is somewhat of a similar principal, it's all fantasy after all.

I don’t think Daemon would risk her life. He did shake his head no but I don’t know how she got past him and why it took him so long to get to her though 🤷🏽♀️
Yes. That part was weird to me.
I don't think Daemon cared whether he was having a boy or not. If Daemon had made the decision to have her killed they would have killed the wife immediately. So he must have made the decision not to kill his wife in order for her to have enough time to get up and go outside.
I think some fans think every character wants the Throne, Daemon doesn’t. You were introduced to Daemon as the villain but now fans need to realize everyone is a villain

That’s why she mad. Rhaenyra out in them street’s getting her swerve on.

@@daquaviousbingleton9763 I am fully aware of the consequences of Rhaenyra's children being proven to be bastards homie. We are talking about the root of Alicent's resentment towards Rhaenyra, which lies in the fact that her entire life has been confined by the patriachy while Rhaenyra has had the luxury skirting all the rules Alicent's been trapped by. Try and keep up since you supposedly so smart 🙄
When the maester proposed a C section, Daemon asked if the mother would survive and her replied no. It was subtle, but Daemon shook his head no to the C section after that. He chose the opposite of his brother.
If Larys really is an inspiration for Littlefinger then maybe he wants to be king. If he manipulates a civil war I think he plans to be the last man standing.
I don't get the impression that Allicent and Larys are sleeping together. I think she looks to him as her advisor, kind of like she has her own Hand.If she were sleeping with someone, I think it would be Ser Cristian, but after what happened with Rhanerya, don't think he would Sully his reputation again. I actually wouldn't be surprised if Allicent has not been with any but the King
Daemon is killed in a dragon fight over Harrenhal with Aemond, Alicent's second son, who also dies. Rhaenyra is eaten by her half-brother Aegon's dragon on Dragonstone.
Yes girl, yes. This happened.
Larys ain't simpin. He's pimpin.
The king know them ain’t laenor kids but as Always trying to keep the peace keep it chill keep it cool I’m not starting up no fuss because he still loves his daughter but Alicent can see through this they look too much like her guard for no one to notice and that’s why she made that comment I’ll keep trying maybe one will look like you
Dude! He ain't no SIMP. He just killed his father and brother. He is NOW THE LORD of Harenhall! So he has a title, an estate and clout! And.. he has the Queens' ear and (as I am sure he perceives it) something to hold over her head if need be.
(19:53) honestly, no. alicent did not wish for that, she is surely do bad things but this is not really her fault and i'm sure that larys is going to use this against her in the future
Nah, she wanted it. She throws stones and then hides her hands. She's vile like her father. That's why she is so tight with that Clubfoot and Cole. They are all vile.
Alicent is the queen she could have had him seized by the king's guard. It would have been the cripple's word against the queen.
Alicent is definitely culpable bc she sent a dog whistle to Larys and he did what he interpreted that as a call for help. I bet she doesn't have him arrested?
While everyone else is going on about their lives, Alicent was literally manifesting a war the entire episode. Rhanerya tried to call a truce and squash the beef but the Queen refuses, it's like she wants to go to war.
Ok I was talking to my mom and in discussing RHAENYRAs kids the oldest looks about 10 and they aged 10 years so could that be the first knights son and he doesn’t know it not this newest one the father of say her last two … we never saw her drink that drink

Nahh Larys is more like Varys mixed with Ramsey and Tyrion with a hint of Baelish.
His name is a combo of both: Littlefinger + Varys = Larys. I also think he’s a dash of Tyrion.
Yall really don't see why Alicent is so pressed? I don't like her either but it's literally her own kids lives on the line.
If she was that pressed she would have agreed to the marriage between her daughter and Rhaenyra's oldest.
@@Diana734 she knows the people will want Aegon to rule no matter what. So Rhaenyra would be challenged. Just like Dany told Jon Snow...the people would want him to rule...and she would be challenged
@@Diana734 exactly...it goes beyond the paranoia that Otto instill in her. There is envy there. Rhaenyra thumbs her nose at the rules while Alicent is completely and totally confined by them. Regardless of how one thinks shit is gonna play out, Rhaenyra proposed a very logical and equitable solution to try and quell tensions and preserve house Targaryen and Alicent's response was over my dead body, essentially choosing violence outright because that's the course they all are aware they are headed. That's deeper than I'm just trying to protect my kids. That's vindictiveness.
@@ltmorris2010 I don't believe her kids lives are in danger, Otto only told her that to brainwash her because he desperately wants his blood on the throne. Rhanerya may not be fully accepted by all but in the first episode it was stated that the only thing that could tear down the house of the dragon was itself.

Alicent is not fucking Larys.
🤨🤨🤔Interesting reaction.
@@reebasrants2636 literally don’t get how many slow people there are Alicent doesn’t give af about Rhayneras sex life other than using it to get rid of her so Aegon can be king
@@daquaviousbingleton9763 Actually, Alicent is and SHOULD BE concerned because people will forget whispers about Rhaenyra's children being bastards without any claims to the throne ONLY if the other side (Alicent's entire family and supporters) are called liars and completely wiped out. So, yes, Alicent has a REAL reason to believe her and her children's lives are in danger because Rhaenyra, by her own hand, made taking out Alicent and her kids her ONLY option now. So, yeah, Rhaeynra's having sex with Harwin and producing bastards is a really big and important factor.
