And he knew he most likely would’ve been killed by Rhaenyra, especially since by the time the Civil War broke out the two weren’t on good terms for obvious reasons. So Aegon could expect little of that family sympathy. Otto and Alicent were right to think the way they did about Rhaenyra. Ironically the best way for Rhaenyra to become Queen would’ve probably been to marry Aegon like Otto suggested. Really shows you why they did so much inbreeding.
The Hightower family is the richest family in Old Town, where the Citadel is ( in GOT where Sam went to be a Maester). The Hightower family is the most powerful in Old Town. Daemon is not the head of the kingsguard but there's a lord commander. And yeah, that thing with Sir Criston doesnt make sense. I hope they explained it in the next episode at least. If I'm not mistaken, Lonmouth is a minor noble house?? Plus he's there as Laenor Velaryon's squire and invited to that wedding too because of the Velaryons so it doesnt make sense that this doesnt go unpunished even if he's a kingsguard...
Criston cole's thinking is really selfish ; he expects Rhaenyra to just give up her titles and ran away with him yet he's so grounded in his title as kingsguard that he can't compromise to be rhaenyras sidepiece
Ya this episode was intense as hell. Btw, episode 2, during the walk with King Viserys and Lady Laena. They talk about Viserys and his dragon that died (Balerion), and Vhagar, the current largest dragon. Just putting it here in case if you were still confused about if Viserys has a dragon.
Alicents late arrival in her green dress during the kings speech was the best part. Emily did such a great job. I can see where Larys is going going to be another Littlefinger.
@@dianedavid3052 He dishonored himself when he slept with Rhaenyra, that's why he was so desperate to the point of proposing to her and thinking she would accept. @@dianedavid3052 I'm not disagreeing with you btw I too believe he is naive. As I said he is like a priest who basically just discovered what sex is like. Imagine seeing everything you ever had turning into dust beacuse of one bad decision. That's rough man. But I also think that him telling Alicent was kinda a last ditch attempt to "make the right thing" and preserve whatever little snitch of honor he had.
@@gabrieldossantos1116 well it’s done now. He screwed the pooch and now I suspect far more dishonourable things will occur through him. Very good show to have us all so passionate in our dissection and analysis of characters 😉
Only Laenor is gay. Rhaenyra isn't gay. Although many fans speculated that because of how the actresses portrayed it specifically in episode 1 but yeah Rhaenyra isn't gay.
Joffrey (Knight of Kisses) is part of House Lonmouth. Their Coat of arms have skulls and lips (hence the nickname Knight of Kisses) They are a lesser House from the Stormlands, sworn to House Baratheon. Even though he's not from a great house, I'm sure people would know who he is. Fun Fact: in the Books Criston actually kills Joffrey with Morningstar at a Tourney, cracking his helmet and skull. He ends up dying 6 days later. Leanor stayed at his side for those six days.
My guys, what would she have replaced the tea with?? Water? Wine? Pee? 😂 They would most definitely check and know it’s not the original concoction lol.
Just a minor clarification on what you said. Ser Criston is a Knight of the Kingsguard which is different from The Gold Cloaks which Daemon is the head of.
Laenor (Lay-Nor)’s lover is named Joffrey Lonmouth. Sigil is alternating squares filled with skulls and lips (hence Knight of Kisses). His name being Joffrey is kinda important to remember… for later.
So remember how Rhaenyra was looking like eminem with the beanie? Now Cole says: If there was another path one that lead to freedom... would you choose. I couldn’t help but think of lose yourself If you had one shot, or one opportunity To seize everything you ever wanted One moment Would you capture it or just let it slip?
I feel like Daemon didn't like his wife because she seemed tough, strong and not easily manipulated. Also because he probably didn't pick her but Daemon cleary has a think for power.
She's incredibly headstrong and stubborn, but not in the way Daemon wants. They have different goals in life, with Daemon wanting to revive the previous glory of House Targaryen. It looks like Rhea could care less about that and seems to care more about the Vale.
@@cheapPixel I think it's a combination of what you said plus the fact he didn't choose her and that I think he's only interested in his niece. I don't think he'd be down for anyone else
It didnt matter whether or not Rhaenyra drank the tea or not, the fact that it was given to her secretively at the dead of night is enough for many to ask questions. And rumors always spell an end to one's reputation.
If Alicent and her kids supported Rhaenyra the realm couldn't do anything. No. They wouldn't have accepted her even if Otto did nothing simply because Aegon exists. That's why Otto told Alicent that Rhaenyra would have no choice but to kill all of Alicent's children so that she is the only option left to choose from as heir.

'Realm will not accept her' is the first misunderstanding the greens and viewers made. They ignored the value of the oaths and thought high lords would choose Aegon simply becuase he is a man, but they were wrong. 2/3 of the houses in the Kingdoms fought for their rightful Queen even after her death but I'm not sure the show writers would keep it as conon since they made Daemon killed his first wife when he did not in the books.
I don’t know why they want Rhaenyra to gay so bad. She’s given no indication of such and we’ve only seen her romantically connected to two men. They are misinterpreting the relationship between girls who are best friends, Alicent’s jealousy of Rhaenyra’s freedom (not her being with Daemon), and Rhaenyra’s tom boyish ways. I would think the one woman in the room could see that.
Otto wasn’t wrong. And Allison felt very betrayed but didn’t really try and go after rhaenyra, just made it a staple that she will fight for her children if need be.
Sir Crispin should have died in this scene, he will likely side with Alicent and cause big trouble. I don't feel sorry for him, the guy killed the prince consort's lover just out of sheer frustration that his secret was out, when he wasn't even being threatened because of it. Criston clearly values his honor very highly, even willing to marry Rhaenyra just to restore it (honestly, I don't think the main reason for this decision is love, but rather, as he said, restoring his honor). As much as there's a difference in rank when Rhaenyra is the princess and he's a guard, it doesn't change the fact that Criston had plenty of time to refuse Rhaenyra's advances, but he didn't, tarnished his honor, and is now desperate to restore it, feeling frustrated that Rhaenyra didn't agree to it. He deluded himself into thinking that she was in love to the point of abandoning everything for this relationship that from the beginning was doomed to be nothing more than a mere secret. He was never a possible candidate to marry Rhaenyra and he knew it, but even so, he continues to insist on the crazy idea of eloping with the heir to the throne, because of the dread he feels at the possibility of losing his prestige, which is everything he owns, and even his life. If he hadn't been so desperate to regain his honor and had ended the relationship secretly, without revealing everything to Alicent, Sir Crispin might have remained just a guard and no one would have known his mistake ever happened, but the guy, anxious and desperate, with his fragile mind, he simply lost control to the point of killing someone who did not and was not going to do him any harm, destroying the relationship of a happy couple with a misdirected fit of rage. No, he didn't do it for Rhaenyra, I don't think so, he did it for himself, to take out his frustration on the guy who touched his wound at the worst possible time. Oh, I really hate Sir Criston, if he hadn't done anything, Rhaenyra and Leanor would have had everything they wanted (I'm sure Rhaenyra would get another lover in the future). But mostly, I hate him because I can already imagine the problems he'll cause in the future.

The whole Valerian family is so good, I’m surprised they didn’t take over the throne since Viserys is quite weak.
*Stannis:* “If you had to choose between Rhaenyra and Aegon, who would you have chosen?”

True Aegon should have sided with his sister. But his Grandfather and Mother were selfish.
@@thelightwarriordiariesxsup6781 Yes
@@cjmk5923 But Aegon was by Westorosi succession laws the rightful heir.

And we all thought it was going to be Otto
Criston just cared about honor in service of people who don’t care about that. Bruh snapped when Joffrey came up to him like he’d be cool with it.
Joffrey can’t read a room! Wrong time, wrong approach, wrong attitude. Christon acted immature because he was hurt. He dishonoured himself imo
@@dianedavid3052 He dishonored himself when he slept with Rhaenyra, that's why he was so desperate to the point of proposing to her and thinking she would accept. He said his knighthood was all he had in his life so he is basically a priest who broke his vow and was expelled of the church. Now he got nothing and so he got nothing to lose as well
@@gabrieldossantos1116 Christon was naive! He had 20 minutes to change his mind getting his armour off that night and his honour wasn’t showing then! He may not have wished to disobey his princess but what could she do if he refused? Throw a tantrum? Send him away? My guy was simply not ready for this world. What did he think would happen? He knew after that night he had a choice to protect and smash or dip. Then dropping everything to Alicent before he knew what she was even asking. I was disappointed in his character this episode
@@dianedavid3052 I'm not disagreeing with you btw I too believe he is naive. As I said he is like a priest who basically just discovered what sex is like. I can totally see why he thought that meant Rhaenyra loved him instead of being just a fling. He doesn't own land nor stand to inherit anything, being a knight was all he ever had and now he lost it.

Thanks Jacob lol
I love how she's like a Dragon is going snatch her. I'm thinkin, welp, a dragon is about to kill her.

Nah. Sir Christian was just in his feelings. He's a simple dude living by a strict honor code, mixed up in all this crazy royal shit.
Alicent's kids are Targaryens so they will have dragons. Both sides will have dragons this is why it-'s called the dance of dragons :p
You want the roast duck, but you need the bad goosey.
I couldn’t help but think of lose yourself

Would you capture it or just let it slip?
I feel like Daemon didn't like his wife because she seemed tough, strong and not easily manipulated. Also because he probably didn't pick her but Daemon cleary has a think for power.
She's incredibly headstrong and stubborn, but not in the way Daemon wants. They have different goals in life, with Daemon wanting to revive the previous glory of House Targaryen. It looks like Rhea could care less about that and seems to care more about the Vale.

Dude on the right had it pegged out. The Kingmaker is born truly here.
"The only thing that could destroy the house of the dragon is itself" says it all them fighting each other is the problem nobody in the 7(6 really) kingdoms is beating a united Targaryen force they could grumble about a girl all they want they'll accept it. Like the did with the incest and create another law of exceptionalism. At worse Rhaenyra gets killed and passes to the next anyway.
omggggg finally someone with sense like people are trying to act like if the main house and their allies stayed really united that someone could actually challenge the king's decision, the Hightowers greed and paranoia is literally what actually the whole mess that comes after no matter how people spin it like the small petty problems they had could really be easily solved if they actually cared to do it
@@adamabalde8325 "The realm won't accept her" like okay and...? They aren't going to fight about it so they better keep it to themselves. Like some people see the Targaryen almost as gods and create special laws for them nobody is pressing them for real.

Some of the people might not accept Rhaenyra but if the houses were united they could possibly put down rebellion together but instead Otto worked against that from the start. So yeah he’s right but only because of his actions against Rhaenyra and his Kings wishes.
Exactly he talks about how her being on the throne will cause conflict when the majority of said conflict is coming from him and his actions he's causing the conflict he claims to try to prevent, self for filling prophecy.
nope, Otto wanted to fix it, he suggested that Rhaenyra and Aegon both got married. That would have been the best thing to do
No. They wouldn't have accepted her even if Otto did nothing simply because Aegon exists. That's why Otto told Alicent that Rhaenyra would have no choice but to kill all of Alicent's children so that she is the only option left to choose from as heir.

Nothing bad ever happens on a wedding in Westeros.

Sir Criston do you know who fcked the princess?
- Well, of course i know him. He's me.
Adorkable trying to hide her laugh at the "fully c**t struck" line was funny😂
Only Laenor is gay not her
I don’t know why they want Rhaenyra to gay so bad.
Sides have been drawn when the queen showed up in her house colors all other dresses were red n black that’s why the king and rheynera mad those faces. Also why the called her stepdaughter n not her name .
It’s her sibling she will be at war with for the crown. You think she will give up the crown rather than kill her brother? I’m not saying she’d kill him in cold blood, but if they’re going to try to steal her crown…

To be fair Rheneyra complains all the time about her lot in life. Sir cristen gave her an out and offered to marry her and travel the world together. He was giving her exactly what she wanted. She still turns him down for the money and position.
She has also been staunch about wanting to secure her position as heir, even to Criston, so idk why he expected her to give it up
I think people forget about how much time they have spent together, they spent years together with her complaining about her future responsibilities. It's probably the only reason he was ok with sleeping with her, because he thought it was her picking him.
@@katm8128 all she does is complain about it though. It only was about securing her power as heir because that was the only option she was givin. Nobody was trying to let her be free. But she finally got what she has been asking for and turns it down but is like, I’m still tryna fuck though

Rhaenyra might be a potential better ruler than her father but some of her big decisions aren't smart at all
Remembering that the book fire and blood is narrated by dubious narrators The book is told by rumors and gossip so it is not reliable, in the book it says that Daemon never likes his wife he hates her the daemon was forced to marry his wife she not important in the story In the book there is nothing about her just that she is married to Daemon and that after a while the news comes from her that she died and that she died falling off a horse is all that is said about daemon's wife in the Book
Like I said, Daemon's wife is not important in the story, nobody cares about her and only see the scenes when she talks about Daemon's wife is when Rhaenys says Daemon's wife died, nobody cared about the news she said that's because she is not important, in the books it is not known if it was the daemon that killed his wife because when she dies the daemon is in a war so it is not known if it was him, in the series they put that it was the daemon that I kill his wife the daemon is not killing his wife because she had already lost her body movement so much so that he was leaving but the girl was very stupid opened her mouth so he killed her the writers is Ryan they said they said daemon no and the kill his wife if she doesn't open her mouth, more like she opened her mouth so he kill her
Being a Christian if you soiled your white mantle it was because you wanted to because Rhaenyra didn't stick a knife in your neck forcing you to do what you did, do you really think that Rhaenyra And drop everything just to be with him my god this girl she is a princess she is heir to the throne she has her customs she is not one to drop everything to have a simple life , Rhaenyra is not in love with Christian she just wants to have fun she just wants sex nothing else Christian you are very emotional you are very deluded you and dumb rhaenyra would never give up everything for you christian you and only a knight have nothing to offer her

People keep giving characters like Daemon a pass because they're cool or good looking, but he is not a good person. He killed his wife (and no wonder she never liked him considering how he treated her over the years, arranged marriage or not), celebrated the death of his nephew, kills whenever possible because he finds it fun, and lives for his own pride and self-aggrandizement. He wants Rhaenyra primarily for the throne, her being attractive to him is just a bonus. Even if you think Rhaenryra would not kill her brother for the threat his existence might pose for her throne, do you think for a second Daemon would not?
Daemon cares about his family (the Hightower traitors and their bastards don't belong to the real Targaryens) and is in love with Rhaenyra. That's why he'll even want her to be Queen instead of himself being King. People who don't get that should watch a show they understand.
@@iliboxic7586 I'm pretty sure everyone gets that. However just because he loves his family doesn't mean he is a good person. Hitler and Mussolini had wives and I'm sure they loved their respective families but that doesn't make them good guys does it? Since Alicent didn't ordained it he was going to take his own life. Makes perfect sense for a knight's perspective, it's every forbidden love story ever. Lancelot did something similar when he cucked Arthur.
This shit is wild. Intense looks and stares around the room double meanings. Shit is tough. What’s unfair is Laenor loses someone who is very important to him and Rhaenyra does not. Even so she would choose her uncle before she chooses Christian Cole because of status a high house suitor. I really real for Cole he got his broken but buy doing doing this The only person who knows when her secret is Cole Laenor herself and Alicent where as The people who know about Laenors secret are his mother his father Cole Rhaenyra himself and probably soon to be Alicent and we all know if the queen finds out she is definitely going to use it against Rhaenyra in some way..
Good lord, why do two guys kissing make y’all so uncomfortable. Get out of the rock you’re living in, Jesus Christ.
Not Religions... I see
Honestly it’s because it’s EVERYWHERE on tv, games, manga, and pretty much any media outlet.
Homosexuality and everything surrounding the lgbtqabgfioptresvkopnytexciong community has been reduced to cheap sexuality.
It’s like it’s impossible for shows to have people be gay without having the sexual aspect thrown in
@@LightofJoshua Are you serious?? Your bitching about two guys sharing nothing more than what was essentially a small and tender peck, on a show where LITERALLY LAST WEEK they went to a sex dungeon where every woman had their holes filled up and more. And where Rhaneyra was literally riding Sir Criston?? Just say you’re a bigot and move on with your life. Jesus.
U guys know there's a book this series is based on, right....... Why r u guessing.
Because I don’t read those. Our subscribers like our theories and guesses. That’s part of what we do here
