Iran’s Most Accurate Shahed-136 Drone is Now Russia’s Primary Strike Aircraft in Battlefield

- the Iranian-supplied Shahed 136 delta wing drone has taken on a growing responsibility for strikes on Ukrainian targets as large scale deliveries by Iranian military affiliated aircraft continue.
Named the Geranium 2 in Russian service, the Shahed 136 is particularly prized for their anti radiation capabilities which are useful for air defence suppression, and home in on emissions from enemy ground based radars. The majority of strikes, however, appear to be on other kinds of military targets.
The aircraft are considerably cheaper than cruise missiles which Russia has expended in considerable numbers, and with the country having plentiful funds from high oil prices they can provide a useful supplement to guided weapons supplied by Russia’s own defence sector.

That's highly doubtful. It's effective against buildings and fortifications, but it's very noisy and slow, you could literally just spot it and run of affected area

The Iranian Shahed 136 was intially look down by the US and Ukranian as a shitty drone. When the Russian use it at the designated target with accurancy the hu huh comes from observer with great respect. From this perspective the US must at least shows some respect when talking to the Iranians.

It is wrong that this drone type is new in Russian arsenal. Check ealier footages! For example the first How. 777 had been taken out by that drone type. Correct said the personal around and transport truck. The immobilized and abandoned 777 had been taken out by a launched mid size rocket therafter.

@T Mac yes they do have a relationship but Iran has to know that there are nato bases on all sides and that if nato gets to the caspian (which it will) if the Ukraine falls) nato will be able to attack, accuse them of wmd blow up their pipelines etc until iran falls. So, the USSR was capable of landing the Buran space shuttle by remote control in the late 80's and today Russia can't make their own drones? Something doesn't add up...
They make quite lot of different size drones such as the Okhotnik, Orion, Zala 421, Orlan-10 etc, but it looks like they did not prioritize them instead relying on their other armaments.

Don’t be naive, using fighters is not always the optimal decision. Drones are better for certain tasks, also the cost of operation is way less.
