Bayraktar TB2 is equipped with superior autonomous capabilities.
It automatically taxis from its air base, takes off and can go to its mission.
It can counter electronic attack. Russia failed to intercept the TB2s via electronic attack.
Because it is composite and small, its radar signature is small. Due to their relative slowness, they can easily be mistaken for flocks of birds by radars. While it is possible to tune the radars, for the radars to detect TB2s they must be able to deal with birds that are too many false targets.
If it is damaged during its mission and the signal connection with its pilot is lost, it can autonomously return to the air base where it started and land.
It can handle very harsh weather conditions in autonomous takeoff, flight and landing.
Besides the superior features of the TB2s, how they are used is also important. They can be used as flocks. Turkey used 20 TB2s in a flock in Syria. When used with air or ground electronic attack weapons, they can also be effective against air defense systems. It managed to hit the S300 air defense system, whose radar was active, in Syria.
Despite all these features, the TB2 is an aging Armed UAV. Bayraktar made the Akıncı offensive UAV with much more advanced features. Akıncı started to be used actively in the Turkish Army.
Bayraktar attack UAV communicates with the ground control station via satellites. Its range is as wide as the coverage area of the satellite it uses.
Akıncı can carry AESA radar. It can detect air targets and use air-to-air missiles.
I don't think it's aging but it's role changing, or more likely it becaming more specialized in a certain tactics or warfare

yup, my only concern with the Akinci drone is that with it's higher speed (and higher stall speed) i just hope that it will not track more attention than the TB-2, otherwise i think it will do great!

Exactly. Its completly Turkish now. Not only that but the Canadian company actually went bankrupt after their government decided to sanction Turkiye for supporting international law and Azerbaijans rightful claim under international law.

@@theislamicjourney960 Neither Wescam nor the Rotax went banktruptcy. It was an another company as an unimportant supllier. Wescan still sale flir systems for TB2 but for foreign user. But Aselsan CATS an other options are also marketing with TB2 to foreign customers. PD170 havent started to use on TB2 yet but ANKA and AKSUNGUR are using PD170.

Turkey indeed replaced all parts for domestic ones. Foreign clients can of course opt for other parts when buying the drone. However the TB2 is in line to receive the PD170 engine since there is no alternative. Wheter they already used it or not is unclear unless your a military insider in Turkiye.

Telemus was then closed during/after the war, as a legal tactics to avoid Armenians suing them. Wescam is still supplying cameras to Bayraktar customers such as Ukraine.

Great video. TB-2 also can carry MAM-T for bigger targets like patrol boats and buildings. It has a thermobaric warhead. And there is also one thing you didn't mention. Overall shape and speed of the TB-2 allows it to have a very thin radar cross section. This won't help against IIR guided missiles but against radar SAMs TB-2 proved to be extremelly effective.
MAM-T has 30+ km range for TB-2 and 94 kg weight.
There was not any statement or use of mam t on tb2. Also one mam-t is almost 2/3 of all payload which cannot be carried left or right wing plyons and tb2 does not have any pylon at the middle like akinci
Unfortunately TB-2 has no capability to carry MAM-T. MAM-T's are developed for Akıncı, Aksungur and other light attack aircrafts such as Hürkuş.

TB2 started using Aselsan CATS instead of Wescam a few months ago.

Stop commenting that tb-2 is using pd-170 engine. It's not true at all. Only Anka and Aksungur are using this engine. Rotax is budget friendly because of that it's a civil engine and mass production reduces the price. It's not logical to use an expensive military engine for a cheap drone. Yeah it's an option but we can use it if we really needed otherwise rotax is always the first choice.

The engine of Bayraktar TB2 is made by Rotax Engine in Austria. The camera, laser and optics is made by L3harris Wescam in Canada. The fuel tank is made by Italy and the guidance system for the missile is made by UTC aerospace system in England. Video encoder Unit is made by Viasat in US. The missile warhead system is made in Germany by TDW MBDA company, missile software is made by NUMERICS GmbH. I hope you learn to think critical.

The embargo only causes Turkiye to replace foregn parts with locally made one. Turkiye made its own engine to replace the rotax engine.

very well explained,would like to add one more thing to the equipment part; jammer and counter jamming equipment in operational area these things fly,one should remember that they are still controlled by radio signals and vulnurable to jamming more than expensive satellite drones,thats why Turkey developed extensive layers of jammer/counter jammer equipments along the way for them and constantly updates those
one really good example for importance of jammer/counter jammer equipment is Libya,opening moment of Libya counter attack was extremly effective thanks to tb2s, they were operating without any issue due to Turkish counter jamming ships blocking jammer equipment haftar were using while jamming their air defence systems at the same time,but once the battles reached inner parts of libya they were outside of counter jamming range of the ships,thats why tb2s were either returning to base on their own due to signal loss or being shot down by air defense,which they lost shit ton until they brought land jammer systems from Turkey name Koral,which conveniently has also has 200km range just like tb2s

The Rotax engine and Wescam laser designator are not the only options anymore. Canada imposed an embargo on Turkey regarding these parts after Turkey supplied Azerbaijan with TB-2's in the Nagorno-Karabakh war, however, they lifted it after the Ukraine war started (what a bunch of hypocrites). Now Turkish versions use Turkish-made parts while export versions are offered in different combinations of either Turkish or foreign-made parts. Prices can go up and down accordingly of course. 5 million USD I suppose is starting price of a single unit without the training/command module/satellite link etc. which means if you already have the system installed in your country, you can buy additional TB-2 units for 5 million each. If you take the whole package, in which case you have to buy the entire training/command module/ uplink etc., to install the system initially, I heard BAYKAR's latest deal with UAE was worth around 20 million USD per aircraft including pilot training, command modules, spare parts (whole pack) etc. for 20 pieces of aircraft which takes the entire deal up to 400 million USD.
Same procedure and costs has on other countries's drons too.I mean, if you order same size drons from US or Russia, Israel they ll be much more expensive then Turk's drons.
Western hypocrisy makes me vomit 🤢 first they put embargo on those equipments and then started crowdfunding to donate one to Ukraine

The TB2 uses a domestic Turkish engine called PD220 or PD170. Not the Rotax engine anymore since this was sanctioned and consequently replaced by a Turkish engine.
The same goes for the Wescam which was replaced by the Aselsan Cats. The Canadians sanctioned Turkey as well and subsecuently the provider of those wescams went bankrupt while Turkey succesfully replaced it with a superior product which is now a direct competitor of the Wescam (or more like sole product after Wescams demise).

You misunderstood
Most GPS can't be used for fast moving Target.
They can switched to laser designation to hit a moving target.
MAM L has both GPS and Laser designators.

Wrong it can hit moving targets, in Syria a Tb2 did hit a moving motorcyle with precision.

@@abhayprasad5319 They are not in the same class, one weighs 700kg while the other is 5400kg MTOW. You should compare it to Baykar Akinci which is about 5500kg MTOW. Akinci is the bigger brother of TB2.
Both Heron and Akinci have similar flight performance such as endurance, flight ceiling, payload. However, Akinci have a clear advantage in variety of arnament with over 30 types of missiles and and guided bombs for various missions such as long-range cruise missiles, bunker busters or air-to-air missiles. The max bomb weight is also larger on Akinci with 1000kg on the central hard-point while Heron can carry 250 or 500kg bombs. No other drone in the world than Akinci can carry 1000kg MK-84 bomb variants. Akinci will also have AESA radar and AA-missiles. Furthermore, Akinci is significantly cheaper.
Finally, completely irrelevant to performance but Akinci is one of the most beautiful air-crafts with its organic bird shape.
Note: Both Akinci and Heron requires air-superiority to operate safely as they are both rather big drones without self-defence packages. TB2 does not need this as it is small and cheap for high risk missions.

It has been used in Iraq and in Syria. There were reports about Akinci over Syria just yesterday.

Once upon a time we have lost a lot of soldiers lack of this technology. Developed countries did not want give this drones to Türkiye, but Türkiye has improved capabilities on drones technology.
