You need to spray water 💦 to the fabrics so to fabricate can absorb the paint. You cannot paint on dry fabric. And I use artist paint to clean the trim. And you need to sand between coats so the fabric will not be so stiff. Thanks for watching. I will do a follow up video.
I have a question . Did the fabric get hard after it completely dry?
And it is very pretty
If u use fabric softner wit water first,ur chair will b soft after painting
The fabric was damp. She just washed the chair and started painting.
Yup,I used fabric softener mixed wit water & after painting the chair was super soft

Wow! I just love this idea of painting the fabric on chairs, I have six dining chairs which I was going to have the seats recovered, but after watching several UA-cam videos I no longer wish to do so. I am now sold ! Chalk pain is the way to go. Thank

This chair came out AMAZING! It is a commitment thought! I have a chair similar to yours I bought for $15 and was going to have it recovered but after I learned that it would be about $350. So I have been researching chalk painting it. The seat cushion is not as nice as yours so I may have that recovered at about $50. I already painted the wood parts. Your chair is the best redo yet and you have inspired me to just go for it. Thank you!

I thank you so much for sharing with all of us I love it yes the way you took your time and used the right coats of paint to give it a style of your own it don't look rushed or just put togethe. I always say it doesn't matter how you do it just as long as you don't give up in the process when getting the job done . When you stand back with your hands on your hips you can say I turned nothing in to something yes you did that. I must say you turned this chair that you got for $20.00 dollars into a High End pice that's what DIY is all about. Yoy picked the right colors white is a color that will speak for it self yes hard work do look good I must say the pillow just pulled it all together this look is a show stopper keep savings your money 💲💲💲always use your God given talent, mind God bless you .

Thanks, I have a wing back chair I'd like to try this on. Thank goodness it's a much lighter blue, but with some corny pink flowers. I know this is a commitment and a lot of work, but the end result on your chair is fantastic. I want mine white as well. The only wood I will have to worry about are the legs, but Imma hit those bad boys with plenty of painter's tape. Whoot Whoot I am inspired.

Adding another comment so every one can read. Your chairs turned out great because you did wet the chairs. Love them. I never find ones like this! The first video I watched was Annie Sloan herself who makes chalk paint guest on a show and she said always wet the chair first. She went over the chair with brush and water as if painting it with water only the section she was going to paint. Watered the paint a little and said only two coats if it works. The ones she did had a threaded design but it covered it. I dont understand others just slapping on dry paint on a dry chair and wondering why they get thick dry crackling leather. It seems the method got lost over the internet.

I have watched this video sooo many times!! I've been looking high and low for wingback chairs with wooden trim and can only find ones without the wood trim. Impressive transformation.Thanks for the information. I have 2 chairs that I want to bring back to life. My question: after painting is the fabric easy to spot clean for a spill. I did hear you mention Scotch Guarding. I appreciate that you provided a lengthy video, as it does show the of need more than one coat, and drying time. I got a better feel for timing of the project. WOW! I'm saving this video.
