    I love Annie Sloan! Absolute Gem! She IS the real deal. And of course she did all the work and in a short period of time, her hands all in and with a genuine heart and smile. Love her!
    I've also Never seen a "host" leave to go pick someone up in the middle of a shoot lol. Speaks volumes as to the genre of today. Long ago are the days of Annie Sloan work ethic, she's beautiful and a treasure!!

    A couple of issues that are not clear in the video: Water should be tepid. The website suggests 1 Tbs of paint per liter of water. I'd mix my paint first in a large jar, with water, shake well to disperse the paint and avoid blotches, then add to the remaining water in the basin, stir in well. After agitating fabric for a bit, remove fabric and wring out excess water. Hang to dry, over tub or outside. Once fabric is DRY, add to your Dryer, max heat setting, and tumble for at least 15-30 minutes OR iron fabric to heat set. If your end product needs to be washed, wash in tepid to cold water, dry as usual. I'd also wash it Alone, the first time, and take a peek in the washer before the rinse cycle drains, to judge how much, if any, it might bleed. Hope this helps!

      It doesn’t appear anyone answered your question. All I could say in response is that when the first color blue was added “ dipped” they put it in drier. The drier would set the color. In as far as the stencil, I’m not sure, unless they dried it to.

      Hi Anjuli M! According to Annie's website, you should dip your fabric in the dye, allowing the fabric to soak it in, and then agitate the fabric until the whole piece is evenly dyed. But she says not to leave the fabric in the dye to soak. You should remove it from the water and allow it to dry. Hope this helps, and thanks for watching The Design Network!

Chalk Paint® can re-invigorate old brass and other metal fixtures and fittings, and it even covers and slows down rust. Any rusting areas should be sanded and treated with a rust inhibitor before painting. Hope this helps!

      Hi, +Ann Haws! We checked Annie's site and it says the following: To stencil fabric with Chalk Paint, apply with a sponge roller. There is no need to dilute the paint, but to keep the image from bleeding around the edges, try not to overload your roller with paint. Allow the fabric to dry naturally, then heat seal by tumble drying or pressing with a hot iron. Hope this helps!

  • @KiwiJane1
    @KiwiJane1 6 років тому +5

    Fun video. I'm just wondering if the paint was properly mixed in, why was there a concern with the blotches of paint getting on the fabric before it was removed from the dye bath? If the paint was actually thoroughly mixed into the water before adding the fabric, there wouldn't be any blotches to be concerned with. Thankfully, it appears the end result didn't look blotchy. I see many possibilities with this technique. Also, at the beginning (the outside interview) the girl mentioned she had a plain raw silk runner that she wanted to change but the item she brought was definitely just a piece of linen fabric with selvedge edges. Just curious if anyone else noticed that?
