Beautiful Kacha, I did this about 6 mths ago but I added fabric softener mixed with my paint it made it smell lovely as well as helped the paint move easier.
That’s a great idea, and I’ll be using that tip.thank you.
Agree I also used fabric softener
My husband was shocked at the end. He thought it would be like a crust but it was supple
How much fabric softener ? I’m looking to do a recliner
@@mariemarie1646 I didn’t really measure it but around 1/3 of the paint mixture. I still smell mine when I walk into a room after months. I painted fabric pelmet boxes
I love the look of this chair & the process, but if someone is wearing white clothes, can they sit on this without having either wax or some of the color stain their white clothes? I’m only asking cos everyone I’ve seen that paints the fabric on chairs, usually sits on them while wearing dark jeans or just darker coloured clothing! Does anyone have experience with this please?
I have painted a lot of fabric (and learned a lot along the way). Don’t be afraid to do it on chairs you use every day because they wear extremely well. Also try it with an all in one paint ( like DB’s Silk line) and you don’t need water and the fabric is much softer when you are done. The older the fabric, the more it will accept the paint evenly (and you may want to add a stencil or stripes on top, if it’s a problem) . Your chair turned out so lovely and the gold leaf is perfect. Good luck on your opening 🎉
I just screenshot your comment, for good tips.😁
@@robinstarr7581 I have on some projects. Dixie Belle has a liquid wax called Easy Peasy spray wax that works well but if I am doing chairs, I rarely do.
@@furnitureduchess9103 How does the color not transfer to clothing when sitting on it?
@@lisajameson1077 it’s basically dyeing the fibers of the fabric. You are not putting a lot of paint on the material so it’s not sitting on top of the fabric where it can transfer to your clothes. I hope that makes sense but an example is when I paint, I need to remember to wear my painting clothes because once I get paint on them, it doesn’t come out (even in the wash). I have a couch that I painted a couple of years ago that we sit on daily and I promise you that the color has never transferred to anything else. Hope that helps!
@@furnitureduchess9103 Yes, thank you so much for replying.
Sanding with a fine grit sand paper helps soften the fabric, the chair looks absolutely beautiful!!
So, we should call this the "don't give up chair". Its beautiful. I love it
Kacha, I am so glad that you did a chair tutorial. I did my dining chairs three years ago with duck egg color. They have held up to daily use surprisingly well. If or when they show wear, I can always paint them again. I love everything that you do. Congratulations on your store. I hope you are blessed with more and more success!❤
Love this, who knew? I had no idea this could be done, thank you for sharing the whole process! Best of luck with your store❤🎉
Kacha, use a high grit sand paper to get the gold leaf off. Sanding lightly also makes it softer too.
Thanks for the tip about using a cotton glove for burnishing the gold leaf! What a great idea!!!
I’m so excited for you, Kacha. You’re already a success, and now you’re expanding your world. You go girl!
Thank you Kathie
is it stiff
It looks stunning. Love the white glove trick, I'm definitely doing that.
You have given me the courage to finally paint my chair. Thankyou so much.
I've watched you from when you first started, I couldn't be more thrilled for you with your store. You have worked so hard, you so deserve it.
I just know it will be a huge success because you are so talented and such a lovely person. Good luck with the opening 😊
Question if you put wax alive the chair won’t that get on people’s clothes who sit in the chair? Or is it just for looks?
Beautiful color. Congratulations on your store and best of luck.💜🦋
It came out beautifully! I appreciate you telling tips on what to do and what not to do! There are no mistakes just learning experiences!
I've seen other people paint fabric and it always looks good.
Thanks for all the tips on which brush to use and keeping wax for gold leaf separate 😍
Interesting. I've never seen someone paint a cloth chair before. The golden touch really makes it stand out even better. TFS. Lovely.
I know many people do this. To me, it looks like painted fabric, and just isn’t my cup of tea. To each their own. I always applaud the effort and ingenuity. All the best on your new store. Your artistry is impeccable.
I have seen a lot of tutorials on painting fabric furniture. My conclusion is that it is way too much work for a chair you can't use everyday. I also worry about the wax warming and creating residue on peoples clothing.
Beautiful chair, Kacha! Congratulations on your new store! ❤😊
Wow! You blew me away again!! Great job! And congratulations on the store!
So beautiful!
Kacha that chair turned out fabulous I can't wait to see your grand opening and the chair did look like leather !!!God Bless you two !!!🙏🏻❤️❤️

Looks amazing❤❤
Спасибо,что поделились всеми тонкостями процесса покраски
Thank you for an honest evaluation of where painted fabric is best suited - so many seem to not be willing to qualify the uses.
Precioso Kacha💖 Gracias🙏🏻💞💕💞
Oh my goodness stunning 🤗
What an amazing chair, Ive seen people paint chairs before but never wax them. You are unique and a genuine and totally honest and that I trust.
Because of you I started my collection of your products and Annie Sloan,
as Ive got alot of furniture to cover. 😛
Xx
Hi Kacha, beautiful job! Does the paint ever rub off onto your clothes? That's what I would be worried about!
Ty so much! You answered so many of my questions! And some I didn’t even think about like pet use!❤❤❤
Awesome
Video!!! Great color!!
Absolutely love it. Thanks so much for sharing ❤ I have done my high traffic lounge same shape as yours. A 2 seater and 2 1 seaters. But I didn't want the leather look. So after 2 coats and letting them dry I lightly sand papered them. They became soft again and I absolutely love them. They are duck egg so quite light and wear extremely well. I am so impressed and that was about 6 months ago. So for anyone wanting a fabric look and not leather skip the process of the wax and give a fine sand ❤
Thanks. I want my chair to be soft. Get tip.
Beautiful job
You are incredibly talented! I love your teaching technique and honest sharing about the mistakes you made. Would love to visit your store someday!
Thanx for sharing ,I definitely going to try it

At first I thought oh no not gold no gold please it took me back and there it was perfection. Georgous thankyou for sharing this project.
Enjoyed that love the gold leaf affect - like your accent ❤
Beautiful 😍😍😍
I know stress can be a problem, even when you are working on good things. Take it easy; take care of yourself. Show everyone that they don't have to be perfect, they can miss deadlines. We all will still love your work.
Enhorabuena!!

Excelente trabajo como siempre.., felicitaciones...👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
You are a very talented and amazing person I just love watching you all the best for the grand opening x❤
Kacha:
Our friend Johnathon did a really neat faux leather fabric painting, and I just watched that video again last week, getting ready to do some cushions.
He uses a spray bottle or atamiser to add water moisture, as needed, in addition to the thinned paint.
No clue, but like you, I shall find out!
Appreciate this share, timely.
You color Is Stunning and love the Gold leaf legs!!! Sassy Bling!
🏆.
Such fabulous tips on dying fabric, Kacha! It came out beautiful though, didn't it?? I am very excited for your store and happy for you as well. I wonder if I can make it to your grand opening (I am in MA visiting my oldest son). I 'might' be able to do it. xoxo 💜💜💞
Im Going to try this! My youngest daughter LOVES Purple!!
I painted a cushion for a church pew that I white washed. It turned out a little stiff but I’m going to wax it now and see if it softens up…Thanks for the tip and congratulations on your wonderful shop..I’m sure it is a dream come tru!

Beautiful Kacha hello
Good Luck at your Grand Opening Kacha! I wish I could be there. My aunt and I want to come see your studio one of these days. I will be coming from New Hampshire and my aunt from Waterboro ME. Beautiful chair! I love it!!!
So excited to try it on my patio seat cushions that have faded.
Kacha, you and your yummy color and gold projects. That`s totally my taste. Thanks for sharing, sweetie.
I wish you a lot of success in expanding your world :)
Lep pozdrav iz Slovenije 💜
I was so sad thinking your not Coming again!!! Im so Happy with your video. Rhanks
Yes you,re right, waxing fabric without any pattern in the fabric turnes out like it,s leather. I painted something black and the result after waxing wasn,t what i wanted, so now i know. But it,s very satisfying to transform a piece of furniture in a different color. Love your color, greetings from The Netherlands
I found you through Pinterest and so happy I did. I love the videos. Thank you. ☺️
You are so cute and funny....I just love it! I'm soooo excited about your store. I've even looked into flights to come out there to see you but the tickets are super expensive....ugh. Hopefully soon I can come to one of your classes or your store. Your chair looks Awesome!
I love painting fabric and this one turned out gorgeous❤️❤️❤️
Is it ok to sit on? Does the paint not rub off people's clothing?
@@perthkraya3209 it is absolutely okay to sit on after you seal it with a water based sealer!
@@cassandrasmith5517 thank you for your response. Water based sealer makes sense, I'm not sure about wax.
@@perthkraya3209 I have seen people use wax but I prefer a liquid sealer😊
Great Fun!! Thanks for the inspiration! You might try packing tape to remove the gold leaf from the fabric before it gets ground in!! IDK but it works on other projects!! Have a LOVELY DAY !! !!
Que hermoso tus trabajos felicitaciones un abrazo desde Uruguay.
I like the pattern-it looks like embossed leather!
❤me gusta mucho cómo a quedado,y la explicación de hacerlo es maravilloso para aprender, gracias, una nueva suscriptora, gracias
