Love, love, love it. I watched a different UA-cam video, about 8 months ago, where a lady painted a fabric chair and it turned out streaked and really rough. I decided to wait and find a better way to do it and abracadabra here you are!!! So glad you did this tutorial. Now I know the right way to paint fabric. You are so talented! Hugs from Florida 🌴😎💙😎🌴
Yay!! I think 2 things are key - 1 getting the fabric damp! and 2 - sandpaper!! This turned out with a little texture, but I'm okay with it! I think it looks a million times better! !
Thank you. I know this video has been around for a while. It is what gave me the idea to reupholster my kitchen chair slip seats. I am using dropcloth and Dixie belle silk paint. It looks amazing! I just watched it again so I could see how you waxed it. Please keep sharing 🙏👏👏👏
Perhaps it just me, but does the volume keep muting on and off during this video?? Anyone else? I feel like I’m missing some useful details as I see she is talking, but it’s muted 🤷🏻♀️
Oh my gosh. I could see so many small white patches on the fabric and along the edges where the fabric meets the wood frame, even after the second coat and the waxing!
Thanks for the painting instructions I'm in the middle of trying to do a bench right now. But I have to say I honestly loved the print you painted over
Too late for me! I used a medium from Michaels but my furniture is hard crunchy ugh! Any suggestions to soften it? Its one of a pair and I don't want to do the other until this is fixed. Please help!
Doesn't Dixie Belle specifically state not to add wax to painted upholstery? I believe it can melt and transfer to clothes and stain them. I have seen quite a few people paint upholstery with chalk paint and the coverage of yours turned out the best that I have seen.
I have tried using latex paint with this method and it feels like plastic when finished, so I would recommend a chalk or milk paint for this technique.
I used Fusion paint (and wax) on my 1st project...3 years later, it's as pretty (and softish) and intact as the day it was painted. I used latex paint (and wax) on 2nd project...6 months later, there's cracks and crunching in the project.
I was a bit worried about this, but I let it dry for a few days before bringing it inside. It has never been an issue. We are still using this little chair and it's held up great. The paint is sealed!
I did promise my friends and myself not to watch videos that advertise products. Sorry darling, you might be very talented but UA-cam has gone mad on advertisement. Neither my friends nor I are part of it.

Wow, what a difference. Looks beautiful!

It's muted because there is music and youtube would take it down because of copyright

The chair turned out lovely! Great color choice with the wood.
Oh thank you so much! I love this wood and navy combo 😊
Hello, I just found your channel. How is this chair today? ( 4 years later) I love it!
Thanks for the painting instructions I'm in the middle of trying to do a bench right now. But I have to say I honestly loved the print you painted over
I absolutely loved the original chair 😭
Me as well!
Very impressive, your chair turned out really nice and the wood is absolutely beautiful! Looks totally different, great job!
Thank you so much!! We are still enjoying this little chair!
Lisa// did you do your couch? I wanted to know how it came out because mine needs a color change.
Amazing!!! I love the wax to make it less crispy!! Looks like you reupholstered with denim!
Yes, didn't it make such a difference!?
I heard waxing it gives our a leather feel and look though, so be aware if you don't want that. If there's a place to sample it, I'd Sry that first.
so it is crispy??? you sound disappeared constantly so not sure what you did a d how you did wax?
The chair looks so much better. It isn't dated anymore. Love the color you chose, great job!
Thank you so much!! I love this wood and navy combo!!
They definitely play well together.
Have you tried a organic paint? For example ECOS Paint or a lime wash paint
Really like the end result
No sound for a lot of the video.
Yes. Great pity...would have been interesting
What fabric material is this? Will this method work for 100% polyester curtains?
Talented and ambitious lady.
Awe, thank you so much!
Great Job & beautiful end product! Thanks for the wax tip. I'll be doing this to my family room couch. New Subscriber!
Thank you! I hope your couch turns out beautiful!!!
Great video thank you…. But l noticed there were a few bits you missed
My sound keeps going off too. The chair looks great. Who makes the spray wax? Do you use it on furniture?
Thanks! Dixie Belle makes the spray wax, you can definitely use it on furniture too: dixiebellepaint.com/easy-peasy-spray-wax-8oz/?aff=177
Beautiful.
Does this work on custom jeans?
what paint was it? Fabric paint or acrylic?
Too late for me! I used a medium from Michaels but my furniture is hard crunchy ugh! Any suggestions to soften it? Its one of a pair and I don't want to do the other until this is fixed. Please help!

Good to know. Hope she replies
If I am doing this to cuhions can I was the cushions after? Ive washed these cushions before so they will hold up.
What paint are you using? What is the wax? The chair turned out beautiful!!
This is Dixie Belle Paint and Easy Peasy Wax: dixiebellepaint.com/easy-peasy-spray-wax-8oz/?aff=177
Do you think if you did anymore coats would it cover that print? Some videos I have watched they have done up to 5 coats of paint.
I don't think so, this was a raised print so it would be adding A LOT of paint to really cover it.
Will this work if you use any paint or it should be specifically fabric paint?
I have tried using latex paint with this method and it feels like plastic when finished, so I would recommend a chalk or milk paint for this technique.
Roots & Wings Furniture & Home interesting..thank you...

Is the chair vinyl? It’s not cloth right?
It is cloth
ty!
Does the wax comw off onto clothes? Is the fabric now sealed after waxing, thanks

@@RootsWingsHome and with the body heat in the summer?
@@amaliavet I believe Dixie Belle states not to add wax to painted upholstery. I believe you are right that body heat can melt the wax.
No volume after first few minutes?
can you paint leather ?????
Thanks for the tutorial. Can i use latex paint on my comforter cover to match it to the color of the wall? thanks
What about using a primer first?? That should cover the pattern
The pattern is in the weave.
Show us what that looks like in a year with moderate to heavy use. Then I'd be impressed
no sound
Jackie after you waxed, the dye is coming off..
I used Fusion paint on a settee a few years ago and applied the wax AFTER it dried-Great results that still look and feel good!
Why is your audio like that?
I was enjoying this video until the audio started cutting off. Thought you should know.
The wound went out in this video
How were you able to make it soft because when you were rubbing your hand over it sounded rough still.
I did promise my friends and myself not to watch videos that advertise products. Sorry darling, you might be very talented but UA-cam has gone mad on advertisement. Neither my friends nor I are part of it.
Too crunchy-
horrible video sound disappears for long periods
In this case, re-upholstering would have been faster...❤
