So I just did a whole IKEA white dresser with this stuff. I actually gave it 3 coats of paint with the last coat being extra thick. Then I used wood grain tool on that top coat. Once dry for about a day I used a min wax walnut stain on whole thing. Crazy ridiculous how it looks like real wood dresser!
Amazing! They’re products are really versatile and can be used a ton of different ways. I definitely think I’ll be using it more.
Katie, I think the table looks wonderful! I haven’t been inspired lately to paint one reason being the heat in my garage. But you are giving me inspiration to get started again.
Photo, please? 😊
hi! Did you use the gel stain from retique it, or a different brand gel stain?
@@AlexisAvedisian I used a minwax wood stain in walnut. The only thing I used from Retique it was the paint. The paint is gloppy and full of wood sawdust so when it dries it’s essentially wood so I just treated it like bare wood. The only thing is to be extra neat with last coat and then use wood grain tool on the paint part itself.
You always save the day, Katie! I love how you manage to pivot to a creative solution whenever you come to a blocked wall! The difference is night and day! Thanks for saving our planet, one piece of furniture at a time!
Always be ready to PIVOT 😜
I really love the results, just beautiful. I have to redo my dining table, after finally raising three rambunctious boys with it. Also, since we're moving to Florida, and I and I love my table and chairs this look will be perfect, so please wish me luck with this. Thank you so much and have a blessed day 🙏
Katie, I absolutely love this. Your content is so educational and creative!
I have been wanting to try that whitewash beachy look the coffee btable is stunning
The wood came up really nicely after the white top stain and the 3 coats of sheen. Well done, Katie. 🙂
Love the finish Katie. It has such a neutral look to it that it will just about fit in anywhere. Would love to see that finish on a table and chair set. Thanks. ♥️
You have no I idea how this video has helped me! I bought this product a couple of years ago for a project. Had I used it at that time, it would have been a disaster. So now I am ready to use it correctly. Thank you for this information. And as always a big wave from HOT Murfreesboro Tennessee.
I have been doing this with gel stain for YEARS!! I redid a cheap white vanity with a dark gel stain and it was Fabulous!! It's a great artistic style isn't it??
I love it❤
Katie, what a transformation. The coffee table looks amazing. Thanks for showing how this product line can transform the look of a piece of furniture
This might be my favorite of your restoration projects so far. You really brought out the beauty in that dated pine table! You have a great eye for what a piece CAN BE!!! ❤
Wow! You did an amazing job making this look good again. Always a joy to watch your videos.
Oh wow I’m impressed by how easily that sander cut through that varnish with an 80 grit. That’s a nice sander. Good work!!
That finish is really nice. I don’t usually like that style of furniture but I really like the finish. It’s a great match to the Pottery Barn table.
Details, details, details, you amaze me with how you keep track of them all. All so you can create a masterpiece. By the way, thanks for all your tips.
I liked the wood look with brush rather than the grain tool. Glad you changed. Beautiful table.
I'm amazed at how well this came out! On camera, the faux knots look a little like painted-over burn marks, but the whole piece looks so soft and creamy. At the point you said you loved it, I was so skeptical, but after you applied the topcoat, it looked stunning! Such a great dupe!
I just started following retiqueit because I have a round “oak” table that was actually veneer and wanted this type of look. Thanks for taking us thru the process. It really helped seal the deal for me wanting to try it!
Coffee table turned out gorgeous
Thanks! I really love how it turned out.
You and your projects always inspire me.
Wow @ pine veneer. LOL! Cheapest wood in the world, probably cheaper than the particle board. That's crazy. It's turned out really nice Katie, you did what you could and it's awesome!
Another lovely transformation! Thanks Katie!
Great job, thanks for showing how you work through that which you are not happy with. Beautiful work as always.
I had that same coffee table with two matching end tables. Super sturdy, stood up to the kids. Nice to see it’s revival.
Same! I bought it in 1996 after my first year of teaching. It’s held up to 2 boys and three cats and still going strong. My youngest drew on the underside when he was little, so I can’t bear to part with it.
Same...I think I stained it, added gold trim. Eventually dropped it at the thrift store SMH
Great results with the kit. I have 2 pine book cases that i was going to get rid of ... may need to rethink rhat thought now.
GORGEOUS!
This turned out beautifully!
I will be right over to pick it up! 😂 LOVE it. (But you had me at white wash) ❤

BEAUTIFUL...I LOVE IT...GREAT JOB WELL DONE!!!😊
I love it, what a great transformation, imagining that someone was tossing it out without seeing the potential using time, creative thinking and good old elbow grease! Well done.
Thanks for the heads up about sealing particle board exposure. I sanded through to it on a piece and now know to seal it first before I paint. Good job on this piece.
I love the way it turned out. Awesome finish!
Beautiful job! Love the finished colour so much.
You are amazing. I LOVE your work!
