I still think it's hilarious how the Mamba Wamba plot was actually based on a short story where the curse was real and the members of the band were killed off one by one
I saw a reference to 'Papa Benjamin' on the fansite, but didn't pursue it any further. From what I saw, though, it sounds more like "inspiration" rather than "adaptation". Still, nothing beats the episode of 'Mystery Incorporated' based on 'War of the Gargantuas'. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@thefeintnetwork5429 I don't have a link to it personally I'm afraid but Scoobytopia uploaded a video about the episode and went into detail about the inspiration if that helps 🙂
If they had leaned into the Seattle underground as a setting and based the episode more in how it actually looks, it would probably be one of the most effective settings in Scooby Doo history. There’s something so eerie and unsettling about those empty and abandoned rooms with long underground tunnels.
Agreed! I'm guessing the writers read a magazine article or learned an interesting fact in school and ran with what was in their head and not what real life entailed. A cramped, confined series of brick tunnels is a lot creepier than a massive, well-lit cavern. SERIOUSLY. Where did all that light COME from...??? Thanks for watching and commenting!
When I was a kid watching it the underground was intriguing and a bit spooky but having it be claustrophobic would have been terrifying. As far as the well lit nature of locations in the show I just assumed if they acted like a place was suppose to be dark that it was and we could see everything just fine as the audience since they were playing be soap opera/suspense rules. It still doesn’t excuse the inconsistent nature of how they animated such things in the show.
What's funny about the Mamba Wamba episode is that when I first watched it as a kid, I thought the band was from one of the Scooby-Doo imitators that Hanna-Barbera made like Jabberjaw or Speed Buggy. They just looked like they wouldn't seem out of place in a crowd of meddling kids. That's why Lila being part of the scheme was so shocking to me on my first viewing, I thought that would be like having Melody be the villain in the Josie & the Pussycats crossover in The New Scooby-Doo Movies. I knew she wasn't a zombie but my theory was that Ghost Clown or Merlin-esque hypnotism was being employed. Roger however struck me as an obvious culprit however so I just assumed he was an original character created for the episode. In hindsight, the fact that the Scooby crew does basically everything while the band is completely useless probably should've tipped kid me off to the fact that it wasn't a crossover. Also, I swear to god I remember there being a scene of Mamba Wamba actually turning Lila into a "zombie" on-screen to show the band what will happen if they don't sign the parchment but apparently the Mandela Effect has struck again.
Don't be too quick to rule out that scene having existed! As we've seen before, missing scenes from Scooby episodes are absolutely a thing when stuff gets added or cut during syndication. Despite nothing on the fansite mentioning otherwise, it could still be a thing. It's also possible that a similar scene existed in a different episode and you're conflating the two. I absolutely see what you mean about this looking like a crossover episode. The Alex Super Experience is one talking animal mascot away from being yet another 1970s Scooby show clone. Thanks for watching and commenting!
44:52 I remember seeing an interview with one of the showrunners from Mystery Incorperated talking about how Fred was spectrum-coded in that show, so it's possible.
If nothing else, Fred was easily the one dealing with the most issues in that series and it's a wonder he didn't turn out hopelessly neurotic. I mean, being able to trust people after all he went through is saying a lot. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@JoeGoesOver, I’m autistic, and I tend to trust people sometimes even when I rarely call them or barely talk to them most of the time. I also like being alone sometimes but also with people, so the splitting up tick could be Fred being used to doing stuff by himself while also still sticking around people he expressly trusts (the gang in this case). In which case, kudos to the writers for accidental autistic representation that was way ahead of its time, at least from my perspective..
In Mamba Wamba, they might've actually gotten away with getting them to sign that contract under duress. The laws outlawing it are from the 1980s, so it's possible that they could've got a ruling in their favor if they asked for a trial by 3 judges instead of one with a jury.
I dunno. You can never tell when it comes to how a judge might react, especially if they're corrupt, but this would be so obviously a fraudulent contract, I can't help but think any judge that'd rule against Alex, Ray and Deek might face censure. Thanks for watching, commenting and subscribing!
In my headcanon none of this happened after Scooby licked the frog. Everything else is just him convulsing on the floor of the van and the mystery was never solved cos the gang had to take him to the vets, and we watched his hallucinogenic dog dream.
You dare assume that a talking dog in a show with supernatural creatures would follow real life laws like avoiding a frog? If anything, it should be obvious that the multiverse of the Scooby Doo verse is too great. As someone who has been watching nearly every single MCU movie since Iron Man 1 and The Incredible Hulk (except for the newer films and shows, those I’ve still yet to see), including No Way Home and Multiverse Of Madness, I’d argue that the Scooby Doo verse could have multiple dimensions created and nobody would bat an eye at Scooby’s ancient alien dog heritage.
Another thing that the writers could theoretically -- but unlikely -- have used for "inspiration" was a story segment from Amicus Studios' DR. TERROR'S HOUSE OF HORRORS, a horror anthology from the mid-Sixties. The second story in it is about a jazz musician who brings about a curse upon himself when he "borrows" the rhythm of the music played during a voodoo ceremony he witnesses while touring the West Indies. It'd be kind of interesting if this episode had at some point revealed that some of the goings-on actually were the result of unwanted supernatural attention due to the band's (clunky-sounding) new song.
I wouldn't necessarily call it "unlikely", because as we've seen, Hanna-Barbera took a LOT from pop culture, so who can say where they drew inspiration? In a way, everything we do or say is "inspired" from something we saw or read leading up to the moment we put words on paper. Thanks for watching, commenting and subscribing!
27:53 To be fair to Roger and Lila, this is a Southern state and the Sheriff was probably carrying a firearm. They probably didn't try and flee because they didn't want to get shot.
Just wanted to comment and say thanks for the amazing vids! I started watching this series last week and binged all of it, so I'm extremely happy to see more to start my morning off with! My gf and I recently started rewatching old scooby doo a couple months ago(we both watched it as kids, despite being a much younger generation than yourself), and your analysis of the villains has been an absolute hoot for both of us! I hope you keep it up and eventually pick up some traction, cause this series is an absolute must watch for any scooby doo fan! Once again, much love from the two of us
Thank you kindly! I'm glad my stuff is being enjoyed! It keeps me going! But... did you HAVE to use the word "much"? I felt that in my TOES. My gnarled, decrepit old man toes. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Another hour long video? You bless us Joe. I love how you ( a single person ) do more research than a team of people at hanna barbara. Hope your 2024 has been great so far. Cheers!
Thank you very much for the nice comments! In my defense, I'm able to work at my own pace and don't have a network breathing over my shoulder demanding multiple series of 13 to 26 episodes each to fill their Saturday morning slots, because my studio bosses bit off more than they could chew. Here's hoping both our 2024s are stella. (Get it?)
Wo-oh! New ranking! These always make my day so tysm because I've had a HORRIBLE day today this cheered me up :) I don't think I've seen either of these episodes but I vaguely remember parts of them so maybe I did I'm not sure. Here's my ranking regardless though 1) Mamba Wamba Zombie 2) Demon
Sorry to hear about your bad day. It's gratifying that I'm able to help provide some relief, as small as it is. Hopefully the next bad day will be a long time coming! Thanks for watching, commenting and subscribing!
@JoeGoesOver aww thank you so much :D that means the world to me. Your videos always cheer me up. I wish I could say the next bad day will be a long time coming but most my days have been awful for the last few months :( No problemo thank you for the amazing content as always and thank you for cheering me up
I'm no counselor but happy to help in whatever small way I can. The trick I always use for getting through rough times is what I think to myself as "Two Weeks". At my age, time is a blink. Right now, it still feels like I'm living in the mid-2010s despite being 2024. As I write these words, it's near the middle of the month despite it feeling like I just celebrated the new year last night. Being aware of this and that time is what's needed for getting through most bad days, I've found focusing on knowing that I'll probably feel better in two weeks, even if just a little, and I'll feel a little better two weeks after that, and at my age two weeks feels like no amount of time has passed at all, helps keep my mind from dwelling too much on what's hurting me. I'm not saying this is a perfect plan, and there are absolutely moments in life where this won't help at all (especially if what's causing a bad day is a regular occurrence, meaning you can see more bad days on the horizon), but it's been something that's helped get me past other lousy moments in my life. It's also frustrating when people tell you to just "cheer up", when no amount of "cheering up" will manage to get rid of any underlying issues like health problems, relationship issues or lack of money to cover living expenses. At the very least, I hope your bad days are at least caused by temporary problems with a hopefully quick solution!
@JoeGoesOver the 2 weeks rule is a nice rule, I may need to try it out in the future hopefully it will help me out too. Honestly nowadays I swear time is an Illusion because time is just so weird nowadays. I'm so glad this rule has helped you
42:58-43:07 probably from the same pocket dimension where Scooby got his bike-copter from in The Curse Of Viking Lake. He and Shaggy are best buddies who share everything in common, after all. Maybe they share pocket dimensions together too..
Hell yeah, another part of the series! I love Scooby-Doo, It has been my special interest since I was five and it was my first introduction to horror and mystery genres. Keep up the good work!
Thank you! I will do my best. Somehow, the blank Word document I sit down to ends up getting filled up every single time. I think for many, the Scooby franchise was their first real introduction to spooky stories. It's just unfortunate that some of us happened to see the Space Kook first and now live with a lifetime of trauma. Thanks for watching!
I find it interesting that Fred and Velma, normally the most level- headed members of the gang, were so freaked out upon seeing the demon for the first time that they immediately retreated to Sam Crenshaw’s office to get the amulet for protection.
Loved the video! I enjoy your realistic analysis on these guys. If your going over every villain from every series, then i would love to see you cover the villains from Mystery Inc1 Because that show has my favorite villains out of every incarnation!
Thank you very much! My channel didn't start out with the intention of doing Scooby analysis, but rather was meant to be a catch-all for any subjects that caught my interest. It started leaning toward our favorite talking dog a few years ago. While re-watching the franchise with my daughter I started noticing things I'd missed as a child, specifically how often the Gang would commit crimes themselves and nobody mentioned it. "Hey! They just broke into that guy's house!" and stuff like that. Once a few of my Scooby videos started getting traction, it became obvious that the topic was what appealed to most, so I said the heck with it and started leaning hard into it. It's very likely I'll eventually cover the later series as time goes on, but as this is not my full-time job and I'm only able to produce two or three per month, it might be a while. Here's hoping I get there eventually! Thanks for watching and commenting!
53:59-54:02 you did not notice the obvious recolored character models of the witch from Which Witch Is Which? and the werewolf from Whose Afraid Of The Big Bad Werewolf? They were right there, Joe!
Fking Carl The Stunt Man ! Worst Dog Owners ever ! Don’t call me Shirley And Secret Tunnel Have become my favorite catchphrases on this channel. Keep up the good work Joe
Say, Joe ... back in the review of Watt A Shocking Ghost, you mentioned that you were worried that the Midwest hadn't had any really significant snowfall in a few years. i think we can verify, your worries were warranted. I've got seven inches on the ground now and five more coming today and tomorrow.
We had a big batch here earlier this week (enough to make my town start panic shopping), but three days later it's already gone. The weather is definitely hinky here and has been for years. Thanks for watching and commenting!
35:15: given that the villain has Gold Coins, those are meant to be 1 Dollar Coins, most likely Eisenhower Dollars, since this is the 1970s. The Sacagawea Dollar, like the ones the Powerpuff Girls get in a Tooth Fairy themed episode, wouldn’t exist until the year 2000.
I still can't accept a business would pay their employees or vendors in dollar coins. I think they just filmed the first draft of the script because the studio was in too much of a hurry keeping up with the demands of the network.
18:28 I'd also note that the voodoo doll has nothing to do with voodoo tradition. They are actually called 'poppets', and are a feature of English witchcraft-- how they ended up associated with voodoo in American pop culture I have no idea.
American pop culture is weird like that. Some writer will get the wrong idea about another culture and somehow that idea will become an accepted fact for years. Oh, well. I guess it gives a lot of UA-cam channels a reason to exist so they can debunk it. Thanks for watching and commenting!
It's my first time commenting here, but I wanted to say thanks to you Joe, for reviewing all the episodes so far. Scooby Doo has been my lifelong special interest, I still have the VHS tapes of some of the movies & episodes from when I was a kid. It's a very comforting series for me and your style of videos with the refrences when you say a certain phrase reminds me of when I start repeating a vocal stim lol. I'm extremely excited for the coming videos as well as The Scooby Doo Show is one of my favorite iterations of the gang because it has Scooby Dum, my favorite of the colorful cast of characters haha. The episode where they go to the island with the hotel always scared me when I was younger, something about the hypnotism and overall energy of the place just had a good setting for spooking me I guess ! It'll never top The Backstage Rage though on being the scariest episode to kid me though. That Cloaked Cavalier/Puppetmaster was eerie as hell. I hope you and your family have a good rest of the new year, here's to it being a positive one. Cheers.
Thank you very much for the kind words and I'm happy if you're enjoying what I'm producing! Scooby-Dum was also one of my favorite characters as a kid, but now as an adult re-watching these episodes, I realize they greatly underused him in the episodes in which he was featured. Maybe I just liked him so much at the time because he was new? Which is odd because I HATED Scrappy when he was introduced, despite being "new" as well. Here's hoping both of us and our respective friends and family have a good 2024! Thanks for watching!
the story you tell at 46:24 about working at a donut place is one of the reasons I dislike the idea of lowering the minimum age for labor. You said you were a teenager, do you remember your exact age? I'm curious because I've heard there've been talks to reduce the minimum working age to 14 so companies can "help offer more employment opportunities to more people" it's definitely not because they want a naive and easily manipulated population to serve as their new workforce. Of course not. That is one of my concerns, younger people would be easier to fool and less knowledgeable about unethical behavior supervisors may partake in.
My first job was at age 14 for the summer and it is/was legal in my state under a bevy of circumstances including how late in the evening I was allowed to work, whether it was a school night and the type of job. At the bakery, I was 15 when I started and worked for the evil overlords there until I was 19 (I think?). Oh, they DEFINITELY took advantage of the dumb kids there. They generally hired three kinds of people: teenagers, the homeless (or close to it) and the mentally impaired. Three groups not exactly known for being able to stand up for themselves or question their working conditions. I remember one time we had someone not show up, so the manager walked out to the serving area and found a homeless guy sitting at the bar nursing a coffee. The manager said, "You want a job?" and tossed the guy an apron and brought him back as-is. I AM NOT AGAINST HIRING THE HOMELESS. In fact, I'm all for it. My point was, though, this guy was literally hired without an application, interview or any of the necessary paperwork required by the state. This is just to illustrate how careless they were with hiring people and how they relied on the low end of the society totem pole, because dumb or desperate people are easy to manipulate.
I grew up in a small fishing village on the east coast of Canada and the Albert Tross pun never occurred to me, but Sally calling him her "star boarder" sounded like a nautical pun. As in the starboard position of a boat. Great video and all your effort and thoroughness is much appreciated by your viewers. :)
Oh, dammit, you're right! That's a pun that went right over my head! To be fair, though, as short as I am, it's easy for stuff to do that. Thank you very much for your kind words and for watching and subscribing!
Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure this is the second instance in this show of Shaggy giving a villain a nickname for their disguise instead of just "The Ghost" first it was "Geezer Ebenezer" and now it's The Steaming Demon
I don't have any immediate example in mind, but my gut tells me that Shaggy had nicknames for villains in previous episodes. And have you SEEN the size of my gut? When it tells me something, I'm pretty much forced to listen. It's a bit of a bully. In 'Where Are You?', he referred to Space Kook as "Goony Ghost", but is that a nickname or just an adjective? Same for "Steamin' Demon", I suppose. Then again, at no point in that episode was the term "Space Kook" even used; this was a case of the villain being named from the title. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I always think of the Seattle episode's monster as the Steam Demon. Certainly a better name for it than just "the demon." I also prefer using the title of The Diabolical Disc Demon for than the monster's name rather than the much more generic "Phantom" name used in the episode itself.
Correction It was "The Phantom Shadow". Ben Bing and "Bertha" from the Jerry Reed episode signed as The Phantom, despite not ever dressing as a Phantom (but some characters still used the name)
Thank you! It takes a while to prepare these videos, and this one goes into a little bit of an explanation for why. As always, thanks for watching, commenting and subscribing!
I dunno, the hissing of the demons was kind of disturbing to me when I was a kid first watching that episode. It seemed like a subtle sound that you could hear anywhere and suddenly a demon would appear with searing hot claws to get you and take you back to hell.
You're not wrong, but considering his lifetime of vocal effects work, I just don't think Frank Welker was bringing his A-game that day. Granted, there's no way of knowing if that was him doing the work, but it kinda SOUNDS like him doing the work...? Thanks for watching and commenting!
Yes he could easily be the star boarder. There was a passage to the underground there so there is no reason not to use it as a headquarters. And he only had to be the longest tenent. As for his being kidnapped you mention he had a means to make two Demon statues move. It couldn't "grab" him but he could have easily made it look like that to Sally.
Don't forget the reason he was able to animate the statues was because of the rail line under the city, and I didn't see any tracks on the dock! Longest tenant notwithstanding, it's still a bizarre way of describing someone who may have only been in the hotel for a few days (if Crenshaw's words about the demon attack timeline can be believed). Sally is guilty as hell! Thanks for watching and commenting!
It's weird to say this but with the wax museum? (or is it the hall of monsters) we see a future villain is the show teasing him or they just need one more monster or that one scene?
There's definitely a future villain we'll see in an upcoming video! If I had to guess, the background artists just had a bunch of unrelated art lying around the office and just tossed whatever they had in the background. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Wow theses 2 episodes really took big risks as you think Demons and Voodoo are very heavy topics because I remember being scared of both of these episodes because I try to tell my cousins not to sing the Momba Wamba song and his voice is very menacing as these voice actors deserve credit also I thought that was 10:29 for the Jaguaro episode and that was some foreshadowing on the live action movie and the Rambling Ghost episode Well we will see a zombie again but I also mention that there will be Witches and Sea Monsters in this series as there will be in the next video Remember in one of the Harlem Globetrotter episodes that Shaggy and Scooby are praying so you think that should have been brought up Also when you get the monster from the Future episode mind mentioning the Morlocks as that is the only possibility as it looks like a human cockroach
Oh, my god. ANOTHER witch doctor coming up? And I'm already exasperated working on the script for my next video! I think I mentioned how weird it was to see the boys praying before going to bed, and if not, it was definitely weird. I won't know what's included in my future uploads until I sit down to write them, so I guess we'll find out then! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Acctually there was a secret passage in the Mamba Wamba episode, after Fred, Velma and Daphne go through the hole in the wall Fred made a door opens up on the wall next to the hole you can even see the outline of it while it's still closed the scene doesn't change until the door has opened.
There was a doorway inside the alcove Fred opened up by pushing through the bricks, but that's not the "secret passage" that Mamba Wamba passed through. It may have been another door to get to the alcove, but it wasn't the one we saw on camera when Alex got abducted. Nothing explained how Roger was able to "walk through the wall". Thanks for watching, commenting and subscribing!
Always love seeing this pop up in my feed, keep 'em coming! Also, with just how many frickin' Witch Doctors that show up in Scooby-Doo, I feel like it's only a matter of time before one of them goes "Ooh ee ooh ah ah ting tang wallah wallah bing bang." (I don't know how culturally insensitive that joke was, but to be fair, cultural sensitivity is clearly not a concern of this era of Hannah Barbera.)
Considering that ANOTHER witch doctor shows up in the very next video, I have actually been wrestling with whether to include the David Seville song reference myself for that very reason. I'm already feeling like walking a tightrope when pointing out the, uh, "stuff that didn't age well" in earlier Hanna-Barbera productions as is! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Well I guess Scooby-Doo could have tried to make that Lobster a pet just like Homer Simpson🦞🦞🦞 that is until he accidentally cooks it and then he can cry and talk about how good it tastes at the same time.
Crenshaw got a much lower score than I was expecting honestly. Though it's worth noting that Daphne has a sheet over her head in the piano, I always assumed that to be the demon trying to suffocate her to death ever since I first saw the episode. Though TBH, I've personally never agreed with you on kidnapping the gang for a few reasons. The main reason you often bring up is that it gives them more motivation to meddle in your affairs but assuming that it doesn't just give the remaining members incentive to stick around and avenge their fallen friend, it's a sure-fire way to get the local homicide department on the scene. And would you rather face kidnapping charges or murder charges after getting caught? Also kidnapping one of them implies intention to kidnap the rest if given the chance, giving them more reason to stick around doesn't matter much if you succeed in catching them all.
Man, what kind of sheets do you use that you risk suffocating? Okay, I suppose rubber sheets are a thing, but those aren't exactly common. Occasionally, kidnapping will be a necessary part of the plan, but so often in the Scooby-Dooinverse it feels like the villain is just panicking and resorting to desperate measures without thinking things through. Although, not to get too... DARK... but I can't help but notice it's almost always Daphne, the cute one, who gets taken by the overwhelmingly male bad guys. If Scooby wasn't ostensibly a children's cartoon, it makes you wonder what might be the motivation behind her always being the target. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@JoeGoesOver, true that. I am more for Shaggy and Scooby getting kidnapped, since those tend to be so easily scared that they’d be likely to either run away or yell for help. There even is a scene in Mystery Incorporated where the whole gang plus Amy the mermaid are all caught and tied up, yet only Daphne is gagged for some reason. They could’ve gagged the whole gang, but they don’t. And it’s not like they don’t have the option to. Plenty of bad guys use duct tape (as seen in The Mystery Begins), or gag multiple people as seen in Be Cool Scooby Doo. But instead they specifically gag Daphne and don’t even bother with the rest. The one time Shaggy was gagged happened in a 2 second clip where Scooby found him, but that’s about all. I happen to have myself an obsession with gag scenes probably originating from my track record watching Disney movies. I remember I used to hate watching Aladdin and Tangled specifically due to those scenes, which is ironic considering those are the very scenes that have become my favorite out of those movies. I’m highly picturing scenes in my head over which of my favorite characters or actors would I love to see gagged that might never happen (or might because my dream is to become a film/tv writer-director-producer), so yeah the oddly kinky thoughts are boiling, but I’m autistic and I’m used to seeing gag scenes as threatening due to associating them with kidnappings, so not intentionally kinky..
My oldest cat (age 19!) is now deaf so even the vacuum cleaner doesn't phase her anymore, though my other cat (12 this year) still runs from it. My dog doesn't really care about most noise (except for distant sounds of doors closing, which angers the hell out of her), but for some reason goes absolutely nuts when I talk through an empty wrapping paper tube at her. Like, crazy enough to bark at me.
Oh, I don't know. 'Where Are You?' episodes usually seemed to take place in an isolated setting like a castle or mansion, but 'The Scooby-Doo Show' seemed to branch out more. You never know where the Gang will end up. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I know, right? Maybe wrap the cord up in Linus' security blanket first, too? Incidentally, one of my cats is named Lyoko. My wife and daughter loved that show! Thanks for watching, commenting and subscribing!
Speaking of characters in this cartoon resembling other characters, it just hit me.... I don't who here if any are fans of DC Comics' Doom Patrol, but Mamba Wamba's outfit looks like it may have been the basis for the look of a hi-tech voodoo practitioner that George Perez helped design for the new Brotherhood of Evil in the Eighties.
I'm unfamiliar with the character, but back in the day I was almost exclusively a Marvel reader, apart from the occasional Batman graphic novel release. With the price of comics even then, I couldn't afford both houses!
I wonder if the reason the gang can survive being burned is because Shaggy and Scooby are emitting some Ultra Instinct power from within and subconsciously pass it onto the gang as well. Remember, these guys are always the ones who deal with the supernatural and the paranormal out of all the gang, and that’s not to mention Shaggy becoming cursed so many times it’s become par for course. I wouldn’t be surprised if there were secretly descendants of magic born beings in their own families just like Ben Ravencroft was a descendant of Sarah Ravencroft in The Witch’s Ghost. That, coupled with the whole access to a pocket dimension, means Shaggy and Scooby are really powerful and just aren’t realizing it..
I don't think any Cartoon charater has perifaial vishon. I like how the breaks in the dry wall at 15:31 look like a UFO and pyramids. And It lines up like a hat on Shaggy.
For the first video of the new year, it was pretty good. But I have to agree, where did that light come from?! It should have been pitch black! In any case, I'm looking forward to the next video, whenever it may be.
Thank you very much! The script has been started on the next video, and barring any unforeseen delays, probably within two weeks? I'm averaging about two to three per month lately. Thanks for watching!
Hah! Well, to be fair, I'm averaging around two per month (or so), so one every two weeks may explain the predictability. It's like how my wife and I order take out every Friday and Saturday, and our dog starts going nuts around dinner time because she somehow knows a delivery is on its way. She doesn't act like this on weekdays, just on the two days we normally order food. It's uncanny. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I can’t wait to continue this series compared to the new Scooby doo movies the Scooby doo show has been a lot of fun and I feel like it’s an upgrade from the new Scooby doo movies
The demon episode was definitely a unique setting, despite how it was nothing like the real world inspiration for it. Which is a shame, as someone pointed out in another comment, the actual Seattle Underground would make a great location for a creepy story. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Man, seeing a list laid out like this really drives home how much time I've spent on this series. After completing season one of 'The Scooby-Doo Show', it's likely I'll hit next Renaissance film, 'The Witch's Ghost'. It's my second favorite Scooby film, so I'm looking forward to it (despite already having done a video on it already, though not a ranking; I'm still working out how to actually do it considering there where technically three sets of villains in it). Thanks, as always, for watching!
@@JoeGoesOver What I still can’t get over is the fact that it still hasn’t even been a year since you started this series, yet it sure feels like it has been.
Hey Joe I got an idea for an opening spoiler you could say that when this episode came out the nes wasn't even a thing yet showing how retro this show is
@@JoeGoesOver I think like my least favorite looking like design are the green globs from from the new Scooby Doo movies to me i I was watching one of the videos with my nephew and I made a joke to him I said that’s what happens when you eat too much green lime Jell-O like as a joke 😂😂
I was already annoyed by the third witch doctor even before sitting down to start the next script and seeing what was coming. Oddly enough, I also made the "Scooby chased by a steer" observation before I saw which episode was next. *insert Twilight Zone theme Thanks for watching, commenting and subscribing!
@@JoeGoesOver It's also funny that the first witch doctor was Native American, the second one Polynesian, this third one from Voodoo and the future one is another Native American one. So as uncreative (and not really culturally sensitive) these witch doctor disgiuses are, at the very least there's some variety... I suppose?
The underground abandoned Seattle city setting for the demon episode feels more like the setting of a Silent Hill or Resident Evil game than a Scooby Doo episode. If I were to make a live action Scooby Doo horror movie or tv series, leaning into the psychological horror aspects that define Silent Hill or Resident Evil would be my go to choice. I imagine that as you are older than both these game franchises are, you might only hear vaguely about both these gaming franchises from your kids instead, but even then, think of how horrifying it would be to imagine stuff like Freddy battling his own mind/questioning his own sanity or Velma carrying a lantern with her as her only weapon against suits of armor that move while shrouded in darkness but freeze when light shines on them. At least the Scooby gang don’t have to deal with the horrors that Resident Evil players actively have to deal with..😳
As much as I disliked the Mamba Wamba episode, I did like Alex Super, Ray, and Deek's characters and designs, and I wish they had been used in more Scooby episodes and maybe their own spin-off series. I headcanon that Alex Super is the half-brother of Butch Cassidy from Scooby "clone" Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kids. And their father is none other than Ace Decade, the antagonist from the Diabolical Disk Demon episode, which makes for interesting drama, given how Ace's morals are the complete opposite of Butch and Alex's. It also makes sense given that Jack Cassidy, the dad of David and Shaun Cassidy, wasn't a very good person. I have a lot of headcanons and ideas related to the Scooby Doo franchise and the Scooby "clones" but that would be a post for another time.
There is SO much 1970s trivia filling that paragraph! Now I wish I still had hair so I could cut it to look like Adam Rich! Again, I suppose, as I DID have that haircut at the time, come to think of it. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I seem to recall someone mentioning the story was reminiscent of an earlier work as well, so who can say what inspired the Scooby writers? Thanks for watching and commenting!
I think Roger was new to the music biz. I picture him having recently abandoned a go-nowhere career selling used cars in Hoboken in favor of managing a small-time druggie band. This might account for his half-baked scheme.
Brian Epstein never managed a rock band until the Beatles, but at least he had managed his parents' music store first. That hat absolutely makes Roger look like a used car salesman.
That’s a great point. Epstein had a natural talent for managing a band. Roger, I think, didn’t take the band seriously at all. When they were on the edge of success, it’s like he panicked and didn’t know how to handle it.
Nice, new episode! Again i am bit late to comment, but i am here. Those aren't my favourite episodes, but they aren't my less liked either. I actually tough Mamba Wamba would do much worst, i recognized that the plan was original and profitable but i almost tought the fact it couldn't work would totally invalidate that, but it's also true they could have a shot of settling that outside court and leave with just having to pay a few bucks. I also find interesting that they mentioned in the episode itself another way they could have made money, by selling the dolls as merchandise, coupled with the money they where alredy getting wih their regular jobs they really didn't needed that scheme. Short sighted indeed. I find interesting that in Frankencreepy they chose Lyla as one of the returning villains without Roger despite the little role she had. I guess they wanted another female villain other then Mama Mione, but there wheren't other picks from this show alone, like Ms Dovley and two others from the second and third season i won't spoil. Yeah the scene with Mamba Wamba and the Roger doll confused me a lot, and i tought the zombie henchman was uncessary. He didn't add much to the episode. It's funny to see Daphne faking karate considering she would actually learn that later not only in the live action but also Samurai Sword. And i liked Shaggy and Scooby actually try to get the paper from Mamba Wamba without any incentive. It's always nice to see them act brave, even when they are still scared. Yeah, the episode has very unfortunate implications overall. It would have even made sense the bad guy was just a man offended by the cultural appriopriation of the song, but i doubt they would have do something like that at the time. In a modern episode i could see a case like that be treated as a sympatetic villain, but even then i doubt they would tackle an issue like that. I might be ignorant here, but while is nice to not have blackface, a white voodoo with doctor makes sense in any way? There where any? If not and he didn't want to get too offensive he could have at least covered his skin. I read on TV tropes a theory that this could have been an attempt at a backdor pilot for a new cartoon featuring this band and i could see that, the frog could have become the animal sidekick. But if so is a weird choise to make the only female member the villain, and so write her off. Or maybe it was a scrapped idea that they re used. Yeah, the plan of the Demon seems confused and very poorly tought out and explained. I am not really sure where the idea of him searching for treasure came from, i didn't saw it that way either. And yeah Sally really feel like an accomplice. If i had to guess, maybe they didn't want to have all suspects be villains in some way, but hey really should have polished the script. On the other hand, there have been other weird looks that didn't mean anything in the end like the hermit in the Katazuma episode, but here it really feel it had a purpouse at one point. It's possible the demon only used gloves with chemicals at some points, and then safer ones at others? I don't remember if we see the buring handprints at any point after the flashback. It does seem a bit dumb tough, if you have acces to such a "weapon", use it. The museum with old villains was nice. Probably more of a rearsh of models then an intentional callback like future ones, but it still fell that way. I just assume the demon legend wasn't real and the seal was for a different purpouse, since it's usually that way in this show. Then again Crabbe had a real spellbook, so who knows? But still no real demons came out of the ground. While i didn't knew Seattle Underground well, the way the city was portrayed here didn't felt realistic at all, and i was right. But overall yeah, pretty unimpressive villain aside for the costume. Overall i am still happy that no villain had got below a two. I feel the next two might risk a bit tough. There is another witch doctor and reused model coming, altough the bull helicopter (wich was piloted from the inside so should count as a costume in your book) could increase the score a bit, and i am not sure what the talking cow would do to it. The plan is also something we have seen before and wasn't even that good at the time, and there is a kidnapping, so... The episode also have the nice element of introducing the surname Blake, but i am sure you are gonna mention that. The Demon Shark at least had a nicer plan but maybe too convoluted, not too original (but wih some original elemnts i would say) and there is the usual issue of stealing recognizable earings and necklaces, so i am not sure how the rating is gonna be. The costume is nice but would loose at least one point for originality (altough it's crazy that it was apparently a real creature, even if dead) and i have some issues with the operation, like the fact that he doesn't seem to focus on his supposed tatget that much, but we would talk more about that in the next video.
I could totally buy the Alex Super Experience being yet another possible Scooby-Doo clone apart from the lack of animal sidekick, but I like your idea of the frog filling the role. Of course, if that was the case, they'd have to do something to make the amphibian look unique, like giving it a hat or scarf, otherwise they wouldn't be able to market it. This was still the early days of the franchise when the studio sadly felt they needed the "dumb cute girl" which was the role they assigned Daphne at the time. It got to the point that every time they show her standing up while the rest of the Gang are sitting or crouched, you're waiting for her to do something that messes up the trap. It's one thing for a red herring character to act suspicious when they're by themselves (to keep the audience guessing), but it's rare and even unhelpful to have the "innocent" side character act suspicious with the ACTUAL villain. That's just a dead giveaway Sally was supposed to have been a bad guy. While I'm still in the script stage, the next two villains featured are definitely in danger of a lower rating due to the clear lack of originality in both their design and outfits. Here's hoping they do something clever with their operation! Thanks again for watching and commenting!
It wasn't my idea for the frog, i took It from TV Tropes. One thing i forgot to comment. Yeah Scooby doo villains seems to work on tag rules, wich Is what makes me want to give credit to ones that don't do that like Peabody (he even untied himself to get away) and Mayor Dudley (who technically wasn't even caught, but there where villains that surrendered even without that like the farmer from the Davy Jones episode or the shark guys) Also Fred might not be in the spectrum here, but he definitly Is in Mystery Inc
It is always enjoyable when a villain is self-aware enough to be like, "Screw this. These are just some dumb kids. I'm outta here!" after they get caught.
It's been said that a lot of the more famous older bands don't command the higher prices either because they're not nearly the draw they were in their heyday, or they're all basically just touring for the love of their art and want as many fans to see their show as possible without worrying about going broke. I envy you, though. I only got into BOC within the past decade [ACE DECADE] but would have loved to see them perform. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Also why did lyla help roger? Were they dating? Also in some ghosts in different cultures can leave foot prints Also if roger really wanted to torture shaggy and scooby he could have got his henchmen to put there faces in the hots cools
Just now getting to the coalwalking part of the ep. Im officially taking you talking about hot coal walking as a sign i should walk on coals.😂😂😂 Kidding Maybe
All I ask is you don't sue me if you get hurt. Right now I'm saving up all my legal funds in the hope of one day getting lucky enough to be sued by Billy Mitchell.
Shh! He googles himself all the time, so if we're not careful, he might show up if he hears his own name too often. He's the Bloody Mary of video game cheaters.
I can't say I've been the biggest fan of the few 'Guess Who?' episodes I've seen so far to be BROOTally honest. It's a combination of the writing and animation that just doesn't appeal to me. The voice acting is stellar as always, however. I wouldn't rule out analyzing the villains in that series, but there's several that have been waiting in line a lot longer. Thanks for watching, commenting and subscribing!
@@JoeGoesOver I know Mystery Inc. and What's New are likely to be first I was just saying that if I were given the choice to pick the next series you review, one of the reasons I picked it because 3 of the episodes have similar villains to The New Scooby-Doo movies heck 2 of the guest stars of the New Scooby Doo movies come back in Guess Who? Also spoiler alert Its the only series to have the villain win in the end
My father in law knew Michael and his family growing up. Every now and then when he comes to see his family my father in law tells me about it because he knows it aggravates me 😅
I am missing something, probably obvious as hell, but I honestly don't follow your comment. But I still appreciate you taking the time to make one! And for watching!
I loved that "special" and wouldn't rule it out, but I'd need to find a better source than what's generally been available over the years. Plus, it'd still take a while to get to as I'm still knee-deep in the older series. Thanks for watching and commenting!
If I could post GIFs in UA-cam comments, I'd be trying to find one right now of that bird in the 'Bloom County' animated special who kept yelling "ALBATROSS!" because his wife left him for a member of that species.
We're not yet dipping our toes in 'Mystery Incorporated' territory, but if you look hard enough, you can find some darker elements even in the oldest of the franchise. The occasional human remains the Gang run into, for starters.
40:22-40:48 magic? 56:20-56:53 they’re just built different, Joe. I guess Crenshaw saw that too, cause look at his face when Shaggy and Scooby fly up and land on him like that..😂 56:58-57:00 again, I love that face 😂 57:03-57:21 well, as SpongeBob would put it best, “IMAGINATION 🙌🌈”. You know, cause SpongeBob Squarepants logic means that imagination comes to life. And Shaggy is powerful enough to use 0.001 percent of his power. Who’s to say he can’t accidentally summon things out of nowhere so easily? 57:23-56:47 again, Shaggy and Scooby are powerful gods in their own right. Pocket dimension, providing 1 percent of super power to their friends (even when they don’t deserve it), and defying gravity? They are clearly ultra-instinct.. 58:58-59:31 true. The horror. Maybe Scooby was scared because he thought it was the same lobster from earlier?
It's why I always like to bring up inflation in my episodes so viewers of these old episodes have a better appreciation of the value of things at the time! Thanks for watching, commenting and subscribing!
I've had that request before and while I do absolutely love OG Jonny quest, the Scooby-Dooinverse is vast and there's no telling when I'll reach the end of it where I can pick up different Hanna-Barbera series. I won't 100% rule it out, but my plate is super full right now with the Scooby stuff, and despite being the size of Mr. Greenway, I can't eat everything on the platter at once. Thanks for watching and commenting!
"Oh, my family changed our name when they arrived in the country. We originally came from Italy and were known as the Shittivinos." And yes, indeed, my sister is the greatest, though to be fair, the Paul McCartney concert was probably her way of apologizing for the living room table. SHE knows what I'm talking about.
Hopefully I'll get there eventually! I've already started the script on Part 06. Sorry these take so long, but it's the only pace I can maintain. Thanks for watching and commenting!
When you point it out: they really DID like using Witch Doctors in these early years and i don't know how I feel about thatm Also, is it just me or does the animation in the Mamba Wamba episode look really bad? Btw: your priest comment at 14:20 got a laugh out of me. 😂
That was literally the priest who performed my baptism (I was a Catholic until around age 10). He was recently kicked out of the church for EXACTLY the reason you'd think he'd have been kicked out of the church. Thanks for watching, commenting and subscribing!
Thank you again. I wouldn't say I'm fact-checking "everything", but definitely the stuff that jumps out at me while viewing. I do get a bit of a kick running things through the inflation calculator, though, to at the very least try to reconcile the villain stakes back in the early 1970s with what they would be today.
When I started the Rankings videos, I was able to get both series of 'Where Are You?' completed in just a handful of videos, so maybe four or five per upload. 'The New Scooby-Doo Movies', though, were hour long episodes which resulted in just two episodes per video. I had assumed I'd be able to do three or four villains once hitting the shorter 'The Scooby-Doo Show' series, but because I'm terrible at editing myself, they've been clocking in at two episodes per video as well. Fortunately, with a UA-cam format, I'm not limited to a specific time frame, so it's not like I'm forced to pad or cut material, but so often as I'm watching the show, something will occur to me that results in a tangent and the next thing I know, there are 20 script pages I have to read. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@JoeGoesOver, I prefer both Monsters Unleashed and The Mystery Begins. Monsters Unleashed because it’s the more entertaining movie to watch compared to its predecessor, and Mystery Begins because the actor who plays Shaggy in there is just adorable. I am only 22 years old, and Shaggy had been my cartoon crush back in 2016 when I was first experiencing high school, so the character accuracy brought to live action there was the right thing to be happy about for me despite the movie being older than my sister by at least a year or a year and a half before her birth. Scooby Doo Monsters Unleashed and The Mystery Begins? My favorites..
Can I have the link to this story? I can’t find it online
Velma predicted Alex's disappearance when she called him "a doll" earlier in the episode.
oooh, foreshadowing!
Good catch! I never noticed!
@@JoeGoesOverdoes the frog count as a mascot?
Do anthropomorphic dogs dream of eclectic sheep?
Thanks for watching, commenting and subscribing!
Ahh, so that's why the Fred trap worked

27:53 To be fair to Roger and Lila, this is a Southern state and the Sheriff was probably carrying a firearm. They probably didn't try and flee because they didn't want to get shot.
Yeah, getting shot by a Southern sheriff is probably the LEAST of their concerns in that situation!
Just wanted to comment and say thanks for the amazing vids! I started watching this series last week and binged all of it, so I'm extremely happy to see more to start my morning off with!

In my defense, I'm able to work at my own pace and don't have a network breathing over my shoulder demanding multiple series of 13 to 26 episodes each to fill their Saturday morning slots, because my studio bosses bit off more than they could chew.

Wo-oh! New ranking! These always make my day so tysm because I've had a HORRIBLE day today this cheered me up :)
I don't think I've seen either of these episodes but I vaguely remember parts of them so maybe I did I'm not sure. Here's my ranking regardless though
1) Mamba Wamba Zombie
2) Demon
Sorry to hear about your bad day. It's gratifying that I'm able to help provide some relief, as small as it is.
Hopefully the next bad day will be a long time coming!
Thanks for watching, commenting and subscribing!
@JoeGoesOver aww thank you so much :D that means the world to me. Your videos always cheer me up. I wish I could say the next bad day will be a long time coming but most my days have been awful for the last few months :(
No problemo thank you for the amazing content as always and thank you for cheering me up
I'm no counselor but happy to help in whatever small way I can.

I find it interesting that Fred and Velma, normally the most level- headed members of the gang, were so freaked out upon seeing the demon for the first time that they immediately retreated to Sam Crenshaw’s office to get the amulet for protection.
Fred and Velma are devout Catholics in this iteration of the Scooby Gang.
That MUST be it!

Listen to Peter Falk narrating the story, I kept expecting him to say, "Oh. Just one more thing..."
Or compare Westley and Buttercup to him and his wife.
Thanks so much for these videos. They continually make me smile.
And thank you for watching and commenting!
It absolutely makes me smile as well!
the story you tell at 46:24 about working at a donut place is one of the reasons I dislike the idea of lowering the minimum age for labor.
He also called the Headless Horseman Pumpkin Puss
I always think of the Seattle episode's monster as the Steam Demon. Certainly a better name for it than just "the demon."
I also prefer using the title of The Diabolical Disc Demon for than the monster's name rather than the much more generic "Phantom" name used in the episode itself.
Or how Creeps and Crawls signed their warning note "The Phantom" but nobody ever referred to them that way.
Correction It was "The Phantom Shadow". Ben Bing and "Bertha" from the Jerry Reed episode signed as The Phantom, despite not ever dressing as a Phantom (but some characters still used the name)
Glad your back
Thank you!
It takes a while to prepare these videos, and this one goes into a little bit of an explanation for why.
As always, thanks for watching, commenting and subscribing!
I find it funny that after the resemblance to Zombie Zeke is brought up, he replaces Mumba's zombie as the head in the background and corner.
I appreciate the hell out of it when people notice my little background jokes!
@@JoeGoesOver it sounds like Welker. Peak Welker has to be Uni the baby unicorn from the Dungeons and Dragon cartoon.
Yeah, that "alien" voice pops up everywhere in animation. It was the same for Gogo Dodo in 'Tiny Toon Adventures'.
40:24 You can call this... A BIG LIPPED ALLIGATOR MOMENT!
There's a TV Trope name for EVERYTHING.
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Just decided to check your channel. Couldn't wait for the next upload.
Thank you very much for doing so, and for commenting!
The next video is currently being scripted, so hopefully will be live within two weeks!
There was a similar set up in the 80's Superman cartoon. Old Metropolis was buried under the streets and haunted by a demon.
Producer: "We need a new setting for our cartoon, but not so new that we have to redraw a bunch of backgrounds."
Writer: "Hey! I got a GREAT idea!"
Wow theses 2 episodes really took big risks as you think Demons and Voodoo are very heavy topics because I remember being scared of both of these episodes because I try to tell my cousins not to sing the Momba Wamba song and his voice is very menacing as these voice actors deserve credit also I thought that was 10:29 for the Jaguaro episode and that was some foreshadowing on the live action movie and the Rambling Ghost episode
Well we will see a zombie again but I also mention that there will be Witches and Sea Monsters in this series as there will be in the next video
Remember in one of the Harlem Globetrotter episodes that Shaggy and Scooby are praying so you think that should have been brought up
Also when you get the monster from the Future episode mind mentioning the Morlocks as that is the only possibility as it looks like a human cockroach
10:28 That was Mamba Wamba original design? Where you get that?
Pay close attention to the opening theme.
See other comment.
And thanks for watching and commenting!
49:45. Also star boarder. As in “starboard”
Yup.
That one slipped right past me at the time.
*sigh
Great, I've been waiting for this glory to comeback
I hope I don't disappoint!
Thanks for watching and commenting!
I think that there was a secret way to open the wall that rodger knew about. Fred didn't know it, and just bumbled his way into pushing the wall down.
The Gang sure seem to succeed through bumbling more than anything else, don't they?
I love mimicking those demons. My cats have long ago become used to my strange random sounds but my dogs still react 😂
Yes that scene from Superman that lets you know just how ruthless Lex Luthor was.
It horrified me as a kid.
And as an adult, I realize just what the tracks must look like right now.
That underground demon episode does not feel like it belongs in scooby doo
Just wait until we get to the Scrappy era lol.
Oh, I don't know.
'Where Are You?' episodes usually seemed to take place in an isolated setting like a castle or mansion, but 'The Scooby-Doo Show' seemed to branch out more.
You never know where the Gang will end up.
Thanks for watching and commenting!
I think this is one of the best types of review on UA-cam. Not just reacting to the content, but activly analyzing it
Thank you very much! I appreciate that!
The downside, though, is they definitely take a lot longer to produce.
And thank you for watching!
Obviously, Shaggy and Scooby should have lit incense and prayed to the socket's machine spirit before trying to plug anything in.
I know, right?
Maybe wrap the cord up in Linus' security blanket first, too?
Incidentally, one of my cats is named Lyoko. My wife and daughter loved that show!

I can't wait to watch another ranking!
Thank you very much!
The next script is in the writing stage, so hopefully the next video will be live within two weeks.
Thanks for watching as well!
Hah! You're right! That's exactly what it looks like! I didn't notice, but now it's the ONLY thing I notice!

Can I just say how every time I end up thinking to myself "huh it's been a bit since he uploaded" you end up putting a new video out with 24 hours 😂

For the Witch Doctor episode, they should have done a crossover with Alvin and the Chipmunks.
Forrest Gump Voiceover: "And just like that, 'Ooh ee ooh ah ah ting tang walla walla bing bang' got stuck in Joe's head for the next hour or two."
Yes yes yes a new Joe goes over video
Thank you!
I appreciate the excitement!

I can’t wait to continue this series compared to the new Scooby doo movies the Scooby doo show has been a lot of fun and I feel like it’s an upgrade from the new Scooby doo movies
It has ABSOLUTELY been an upgrade from 'The New Scooby-Doo Movies'...!
mamba wamba was my favorite episode if this season. the underground demons grew in me eventually and is now another favorite episode of mine.
The demon episode was definitely a unique setting, despite how it was nothing like the real world inspiration for it.
Which is a shame, as someone pointed out in another comment, the actual Seattle Underground would make a great location for a creepy story.

I watch your videos all the time and even notice of the gargoyle at flippers anyways good video😂
I’m gonna be honest like but the later Scooby Doo designs of the gargoyles monsters are much better 😂
Thank you very much for the nice words, and thank you for watching!
The designs for the franchise started out mostly unique, got mediocre, then started skewing upward again as the series went on.
@@JoeGoesOver I think like my least favorite looking like design are the green globs from from the new Scooby Doo movies to me i I was watching one of the videos with my nephew and I made a joke to him I said that’s what happens when you eat too much green lime Jell-O like as a joke 😂😂
There's a medicine man ghost/monster in the next part as well. That marks 4 witch doctor-like monsters overall.
I was already annoyed by the third witch doctor even before sitting down to start the next script and seeing what was coming.
Oddly enough, I also made the "Scooby chased by a steer" observation before I saw which episode was next.

I feel like the mamba wamba episode is similar to a vault of horror story
Yeah Scooby doo villains seems to work on tag rules, wich Is what makes me want to give credit to ones that don't do that like Peabody (he even untied himself to get away) and Mayor Dudley (who technically wasn't even caught, but there where villains that surrendered even without that like the farmer from the Davy Jones episode or the shark guys)
Also Fred might not be in the spectrum here, but he definitly Is in Mystery Inc
It is always enjoyable when a villain is self-aware enough to be like, "Screw this. These are just some dumb kids. I'm outta here!" after they get caught.
Yayyyyy so excited for another one!!
Thank you!
I'm thrilled these uploads of mine are entertaining people!

The last concert was in 2020 when I saw Blue Oyster Cult and i only payed 25 dollars for the vip tickets then again it was at a small venue in Texas
@JoeGoesOver with BÖC I think it's a bit of both but mostly they just tour cause they love to preform
Also why did lyla help roger? Were they dating?
Also in some ghosts in different cultures can leave foot prints
Also if roger really wanted to torture shaggy and scooby he could have got his henchmen to put there faces in the hots cools
I think Lyla was greedy and wanted the success and profits to herself and joined up with Roger who basically wanted the same.
She was definitely greedy, but it wouldn't surprise me to learn she had been manipulated by Roger.
@JoeGoesOver yeah its all too common in media with teenagers
Just now getting to the coalwalking part of the ep. Im officially taking you talking about hot coal walking as a sign i should walk on coals.😂😂😂
Kidding
Maybe
All I ask is you don't sue me if you get hurt.
Right now I'm saving up all my legal funds in the hope of one day getting lucky enough to be sued by Billy Mitchell.
@@JoeGoesOver yeah I can promise that
Good luck getting sued by Billy mitchell
Shh! He googles himself all the time, so if we're not careful, he might show up if he hears his own name too often.
He's the Bloody Mary of video game cheaters.
@@JoeGoesOver (pushes hat to front of head) (Curly voice) let me at 'em let me at 'em
If you only did one more series after this one i would pick Guess Who, its like a modern New Scooby Doo movies and actually has repeating guests

Also spoiler alert
Its the only series to have the villain win in the end
My father in law knew Michael and his family growing up. Every now and then when he comes to see his family my father in law tells me about it because he knows it aggravates me 😅
I am missing something, probably obvious as hell, but I honestly don't follow your comment.
But I still appreciate you taking the time to make one!
And for watching!
Honey stop what you’re doing, Joe dropped a new episode!
Good advice for everyone who is NOT currently operating heavy machinery or inside an operating room.

Thanks for the ranking
And thank YOU for watching and the comment!
Say, ya think you can review the Scooby-Doo that did a crossover with Gary Coleman, David Ross, and Big Bad Voodoo daddy???
I loved that "special" and wouldn't rule it out, but I'd need to find a better source than what's generally been available over the years.
Plus, it'd still take a while to get to as I'm still knee-deep in the older series.
Thanks for watching and commenting!
31:35. Wait a minute…. Albert Tross? Albatross?????
If I could post GIFs in UA-cam comments, I'd be trying to find one right now of that bird in the 'Bloom County' animated special who kept yelling "ALBATROSS!" because his wife left him for a member of that species.
Covenants being signed in blood. Demons dragging victims to hell. The Scooby Doo franchise took a bit of a dark turn here, didn’t it?
We're not yet dipping our toes in 'Mystery Incorporated' territory, but if you look hard enough, you can find some darker elements even in the oldest of the franchise.
The occasional human remains the Gang run into, for starters.
Love your videos!
Thank you!
I love nice comments like this!
Thanks for watching!
Tross is also a property management company. 🤣
Albert tross= albatross. Lol 😂
Awful, wasn't it? 😃
40:22-40:48 magic?
56:20-56:53 they’re just built different, Joe. I guess Crenshaw saw that too, cause look at his face when Shaggy and Scooby fly up and land on him like that..😂
56:58-57:00 again, I love that face 😂
57:03-57:21 well, as SpongeBob would put it best, “IMAGINATION 🙌🌈”.
Poor Joe, they took advantage of you. Did those crooks eventually pay for their actions or are they still free roaming like they shouldn’t?
Isnt albert tross a pun on albatross like the bird. Rewatched it sorry about the misundarstanding.
No worries!

Better Voodoo in Zombie island movie because its real in it
Exactly.
I mean, where would Roger and Lila have gotten hold of any real magic wax?
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Yes Seattle where that epic battle took place at the end of Chronicle. Are these demons apex predators👹👿
Never saw the film, sorry. All I think of when I hear "Seattle" is grunge music, and I'm not even into grunge music.
I’m sure I’m not the only one pointing this out but I think that 250 dollars is kinda generous considering what taxes and “convenience” fees added on
It's why I always like to bring up inflation in my episodes so viewers of these old episodes have a better appreciation of the value of things at the time!

Can you do something like this with jonny quest?
I've had that request before and while I do absolutely love OG Jonny quest, the Scooby-Dooinverse is vast and there's no telling when I'll reach the end of it where I can pick up different Hanna-Barbera series.
I won't 100% rule it out, but my plate is super full right now with the Scooby stuff, and despite being the size of Mr. Greenway, I can't eat everything on the platter at once.

Rambling ghost was a reference in the demon episode
He's going to make an appearance in a not-too-distant future video!
Thanks for watching and commenting!
The demons episode does have potential but it just wasn’t fleshed out enough and thought through properly in my opinion
I wonder if Nolastnamegiven is a common last name🤔...Roger must get tired of having to spell that
Also your sister is a gem
"Oh, my family changed our name when they arrived in the country. We originally came from Italy and were known as the Shittivinos."
And yes, indeed, my sister is the greatest, though to be fair, the Paul McCartney concert was probably her way of apologizing for the living room table.
SHE knows what I'm talking about.

@@JoeGoesOver it's fine I have other channels l like watching
When you point it out: they really DID like using Witch Doctors in these early years and i don't know how I feel about thatm
Also, is it just me or does the animation in the Mamba Wamba episode look really bad?
Btw: your priest comment at 14:20 got a laugh out of me. 😂
That was literally the priest who performed my baptism (I was a Catholic until around age 10).
He was recently kicked out of the church for EXACTLY the reason you'd think he'd have been kicked out of the church.

@@JoeGoesOver You're just fact checking everything. Your editing and structure of your videos is just spot on. Can really see the effort into it.
@@JoeGoesOver What I like about your vids is you're basing them on research.
new here, how many episodes does Joe normally cover per video?
Two episodes. However, when he was doing the New Scooby Doo Movies before this, he covered just one episode at a time because of their length.

What’s your favorite live action Scooby-Doo movie?
Probably 'Scooby-Doo' (2002)
Can't argue with the film that first gave us Matthew Lillard as Shaggy!
