Both the bands used the rap rock every once in the while but FNM phased out of the rap rock around 94 and i kind of started getting bored of RHCP in the early 2000's music was getting slower not very much. Bands like Sublime and System of a Down with others came in and started taking over the genre.
Faith No More was one of the groups that really was influential in combining musical styles -- yet, as surprising as their music was when they hit the scene, it was also very accessible. Though truth be told, I may have been in Amber's camp the very first time I heard this song, as well, but like her, I grew to really dig their sound -- and ended up buying several albums from 'em.

Released towards the end of '89 on the album The Real Thing, and I believe this song was released as a single in January of 1990 (the very time I turned 7, lol). To say that this track blew the 80's off to the side and busted the door down to bring in that glorious decade we call the 90's is an understatement!
@@sretePtraB oh please. They were absolute pioneers and never got the credit they are due. Epic was a phenomenal album but you didn’t hear it get the AirPlay, once they left the limelight. That’s underrated.
STOP!! Now that you have discovered Faith No More AND you have an infant, it is IMPERITIVE dor you to react to "Zombie Eaters". Dont let the title scare you, it's written and sung from the perspective of a baby. A time when everything is just "I NEED". Do a lyric video so you don't miss anything. ENJOY!!
Zombie Eaters is by FAR,in my opinion, one of their best songs!!its an old favorite of mine.😃please give it a listen!!!!!you'll be surprised. Trust us...your fans won't steer you wrong,we love you guys!! FNM has many styles and is very versatile in blending styles as well.🙂
No he stinks he was so bad when he opened for Metallica in Detroit falling all over the place could not even understand his vocals . worst band I ever saw live.
Oh guys!! This band blew everyone away in the early 90's with their combination of styles. I still listen to them today very regularly. You may note that the Guitarist (Big Jim Martin) wearing a tribute shirt for Metallica's late bassist Cliff Burton. They were best friends growing up together and jamming songs back in the early 80's. I love Faith No More but really miss the edge that Jim brought to the band. Keep them coming. Truly enjoy watching your musical journey
They’re one of a kind and legendary. Mike Patton, the singer, is an amazing vocalist. It’s worth exploring their catalogue of music. They are so versatile and unique. Try ‘Easy’ for a softer sound and Mike’s voice shining. Try ‘A Small Victory’ for more rock but quite accessible. And of course their cover of Black Sabbath’s ‘’War Pigs’ is awesome too.
Great track to react to. Definitely a influential band from the 90's. Other cool songs are "From out of Nowhere", "The Real Thing", "Falling To Pieces", "Midlife Crisis", "War Pigs", & "The Perfect Crime" The song "Falling To Pieces" was used in the movie BLACK HAWK DOWN(2001) Definitely recommend watching it if you haven't seen it yet. Directed by Ridley Scott(Blade Runner, Gladiator, Alien, Black Rain, G.I. Jane, Legend, Kingdom of Heaven, American Gangster, Prometheus, Alien: Covenant, The Last Duel, House of Gucci)
I agree with Vee that "Falling to Pieces" is going to be the next best one for both of you, Amber and Jordan. It's more in the middle of both of your preferences. Then I would say the next one should be "The Real Thing" for Amber to get even more love.
Mike Patton is a legend his voice is so unique that it almost sounds like it's a different singer on each song. The reason why they aren't known so much is because they were overshadowed by the Chillie Pepper's whom the label industries decided to go with instead of them too bad because I like Faith way more.Do a review of there remake of the Commodores Easy it will blow your mind.keep up the good work!!!
Heavy metal , Hip Hop R&B all in one package don't get no better than that with some classical piano thrown in at the end. The singing and some of the arrangements have a Stevie wonder influence. Pure master piece.
These guys really blended genres. Very unique. The ending where they close out with that piano just demonstrates to me that they are true musicians....... You can see how the notes played in those piano lines are really the foundations of the whole song... I truly appreciate how good this song is. You said that you are SHOOK. I would venture to say that when this song was released we were ALL shook! We had never heard anything like it before. It dropped like a bomb!
This song was a metaphor of the music industry at that time. Metal was being lapped by grunge and that was being overtaken by rap. So they kept asking the question of "what is it" what will the new sound be and will they be playing it. The ending piano coupled with the "fish out of water" imagery personifies this.
@@kristinpark8042 The term grunge was first used to describe the murky-guitar bands (most notably Nirvana and Pearl Jam) that emerged from Seattle in the late 1980 as a bridge between mainstream 1980s heavy metal-hard rock and postpunk alternative rock. DO YOUR HOMEWORK LOL
It can't be overstated how big this song was. It was on MTV and the radio non-stop. The lead singer is a famous, extremely talented vocalist who also do voice acting work. He's well-known to have one of the most incredible vocal ranges.
Faith No More are a great band, i discovered them with that song back in 1989 when i was 16, they have alot of good songs. - From Out Of Nowhere - The Real Thing - Zombie Eaters - Midlife Crisis - Digging The Grave - Everything's Ruined - A Small Victory
I was 13 and within a week of hearing them initially I was playing Zombie Eaters and others on my guitar lol. I wonder if these two guys reacting realize this shit is from '89.
Hey, exactly my age too! I’ll be 50 in November. They had a pretty big following in my hometown in New Hampshirite. The college radio station had a metal DJ on Friday night and he played them all the time. Got to see them, Soundgarden, an Voivod play for 75 people in early 1990. It was “Epic”.
Such an amazing song, with metal, rock, and rap all seamlessly melded together. I think the bassist really likes Les Claypool and Mike Patton is an amazingly versatile vocalist- one of your reaction peers saw this video and asked about his style and range. I’ll never forget the answer from a viewer: Q: How many voices does Mike Patton have? A: All of them.
Chris Lira, This was one of the earliest examples of the musical style known as Nu-Metal. Later examples of acts in Nu-Metal include Korn, Limp Bizkit, Kid Rock (think Bawitdaba), and Linkin Park. Love this song and wish they had more hits like this.
This song absolutely rocked in the 90’s and still does until now. It’s a mash up of rock and rap. It’s a force to be reckoned with. Listen to it more and you’ll be hooked. It’ll grow on you. As a kid in the 90’s, the video was mesmerising. Man this song just hits different.
Faith No More is in a category of their own they are not grunge. They are metal. Mike Patton is one of the most diverse vocalists in the genre of heavy metal, diving through their discography and check out some other stuff that they've done you'll be very impressed. Also this album was released in 1989.
Yes! FNM has been my fave group since I first saw the video for Epic on MTV, 33 years ago when I was 12. A Small Victory is my absolute fave song by them. Not only because of Mike's singing, but I just love that merging of violins and bass guitar
I was waiting for this day for so long. I along with many others I am certain have requested this song. I could not wait until I saw you react to this. Your reaction is exactly what I figured it would be. Especially those first 10-15 seconds.
As a huge fan of Faith No More since high school, I’m super-glad to know they made a great first time impression on your channel. And seriously, this is absolutely barely scratching the surface. There is a LOT more to their catalogue. Lead vocalist Mike Patton is widely known for his incredible vocal range and also tons of different vocal styles he can use. And his singing improved and got more refined after this album. They bring the heavy, the funk, the weirdness, the humor, and their own crazy good music.
Mike Patton is my favorite lead singer of any band ever. That guy has a six octave voice and he ain’t afraid to use it!!! Check out Faith No More songs like: Falling to Pieces Midlife The Real Thing We Care A lot Zombie Eaters Jizzlober War Pigs (Cover of Black Sabbath) Be Aggressive Easy (Cover of the Commodores) Ashes to Ashes He’s in also other killer bands like: Mr Bungle (Y’all aren’t ready for that quite yet!!)🤯 Dead Cross Fantômas Peeping Tom

This song takes me back to high school age 15 or 16. Sometimes a song brings back memories... for me it was working at a grocery store on the weekend and abt 4 of us always went to lunch at Pizza Hut (across the parking lot) and put $1 in the jukebox for 5 songs. Always played this song, and little MC- Bust a move, and the other 3 songs escape me at the moment (5 songs for $1). Awesome music & $3 personal pan pizzas! Those were the days!
Oh boy! One of the most amazing and influential bands in rock history. Such range musically and vocally. So many great songs to choose from. I'm not sure you're going to like them all but, trust me, they are all masterpieces.
Faith No More is pretty awesome! "Midlife Crisis", "We Care A Lot" or they did an amazing cover of "Easy" from the Commodores and Lionel Richie, all great songs by them!
Metallica followed FNM because Axl was unpredictable. They didn’t want to clean up after Axl pissed off the crowd. James still had stand-in guitar player after he burned his hand. They opened with “Creeping Death”, a crowd favorite. When GNR finished their set the pyrotechnics were blinding. I looked up just in time to block something some jerk threw at me. A few people dove on the ground trying to grab it.... turns out it was Axl’s microphone. I had it in my hand!
4:03. Amber's laugh is so genuine and sweet. You guys really are great. I'm a 47 yo white fella from western Australia, and I love ur reactions. I watch them alot. You guys have a great attitude to music you've never heard before. Every video I watch reminds me of the first time I heard these songs. Unfortunately I struggle to listen to anything new these days. Now I understand my parents lack of passion for the sounds of my youth 😆. More ugly kid joe would be cool. I was 13yo when I first heard them. That was my cherry popping moment into music. 😮.👊
I think everything Mike Patton (the singer) touches is pure gold- Faith, Mr. Bungle, Lovage, even that creepy video game where he had tentacles, so good!
I really do hope you give them more of a listen, because they are a great band to go down the rabbit hole with. To start with there's 'Midlife Crisis', one of my favourites. I recommend a lyric vid for that reaction, not because it's heavy but because the way he says/sings the lyrics may mean it's difficult to pick up what he's saying. Or for Amber there's the easier on the ears 'Evidence' or 'Easy'. All are excellent choices.
I’ve seen them twice. The first time was January 1990 in Boston. They were the opening band. The middle band was Soundgarden and the headliner was Voivod. Drove through a blizzard to get there and only 75 people showed up! Faith No More was the best and that’s who I was there for. I got to talk to Mike Patton before the show. His tour bus was parked in front of the venue and he was video taping the line to get in. Nobody else recognized him. Got to talk to Jim Martin at the bar after the show. The second time was in Foxborough Stadium with Metallica and Guns n Roses.
Thanks for reacting to this awesome song! Their song "Falling to Pieces", and their cover of "Easy" by The Commodores are definitely a couple that you all should check out!
Faith No More is one of the most influential bands of all times! You urgently have to do more of their stuff! „everythings ruined“, „midlife crisis“ etc is a must! FNM
This is so layered too - I had the fade-out vocals (ripped from a multitrack ogg file) as my ringtone for 10 years, and it's unrecognisable to the uninitiated
Jay, your reaction was so much fun to watch! You both bring me smiles and I love appreciating music I've known for years in a new different way. Thanks!!
Mike Patton is one of my ALL TIME favorite singers. I have been listening to FNM for so many years, including their most recent album, Sol Invictus, and there is a special talent here that just can't be described in words. They can rock, rap, be serious, or joke around, and it never affects the quality if their music. They are one of a kind. Personally, my favorite song if theirs is LAST CUP OF SORROW. The song RV is a classic example of how they can be funny, creative, and talented all at the same time. Perhaps their best 'commercial' moment was doing a cover of EASY ( Lionel Richie ), which sounds like a beautiful song when they sing it, but in actuality, they are completely making fun of it, and right before the guitar solo, Mike actually yells 'ewww' to make it obvious how they don't like it...just hilarious. Keep smiling 🤘 🙂
This was one of the biggest song of the year when it came out and easily one of the biggest releases of the decade. They also have a great cover of 'Easy' Ugly Kid Joe is another band that had a huge hit back in the day called 'Everything About You' You should definitely check it out 👍
This song and the whole album "The Real Thing" was a game changer and wayy ahead of everyone back in 1988 when it was released! Mike Patton is the most versatile vocal I've till now!theres no genre he can't sing! I was in high school when this was released and fortune enough to grow up with Faith No More! Hail! There probably wouldn't be no Limp Bizkit, Deftones, Korn, Linkin Park, Incubus if there was no Faith No More!
Faith No More showed up during a time from the late 80's through the early 90's where bands were exploring new styles including fusion of more than one type of music, the beginning of Grunge and Industrial Rock . If you want more samples of the style of that time period Try Nine Inch Nail's "Head like a Hole" and Meatpuppets song "Backwater".
I'll go for one of the best, but the 90's brought us La Sexorcista Devil Music Volume 1 (the only I actually love by White Zombie), Vulgar Display of Power, Opiate/Undertow and Aenima. Not even dipping into Gwar's album spread in the 90's and Clutch Transnational Speedway League. They call 90's grunge but there was good flow of metal in the 90's. And I love Angel Dust. It is my top FNM album.
This song was a little groundbreaking when it came out in the late 80's. It was definitely a what genre would this song fall into? Great reaction! It's totally on par! 😉🙃
Lovin' this reaction! When these guys first hit the music scene they were such a powerhouse, a breath of fresh air. I love this song. My housemates at the time did not appreciate it, not one little bit. I loved seeing the instant connection you had with it, Jay. Reminded me of myself, head bopping, fist in the air. Extra cool that you're bopping in a Dodger's cap. Amber, I appreciate you so much! You enjoy music the way some people enjoy a fine meal. I love how you are open to so many genres. It is okay to not love everything. It is wonderful that you are so willing to give a listen to other FNM songs. You are a special & classy lady.
Faith No More is one of my favorite bands ever, and Mike Patton is one of the best vocalists you will hear. I'd list songs, but really you should just listen to the entirety of the "Real Thing" and "Angel Dust" albums, plus several songs from their later works. "The Real Thing" is my favorite song by them, but the entire Angel Dust album was literally part of the soundtrack to my sophomore year in high school. I listened to it with my best friends over and over and over, and every song on that album will awaken memories in me!
I love how Jay's mind is blown, ha. Trust me, we felt the same way the first time we heard this! It was a massive hit, even if it was a bit "perplexing." There was a sense that this band was a perfect bridge from late 80s rock into a different early 90s sound. Amber may not come around to them, but if you want to try a few more songs, I'd suggest going back in time and listening to "We Care a Lot" (just an awesome song) and then forward again with "Falling to Pieces," "Surprise! You're Dead!" (I know, awful, but - great song!) and "Midlife Crisis."
Seeing this reaction is a asmr trigger. FNM is a shock to any music-phile's system but with just alittle attunement becomes a singularly fantastic audio journey.
This was amazing when it came out.. showing age here but I was maybe 12 when this came out.. mtv gen late 80s early 90s was an amazing time for music…it makes me smile that your generation enjoys music that made me😊 I grew up with headbangers ball yo mtv raps the game show remote control beavis and butthead ren and stimpy hey dude clarrissa .. ponder would you ever go back a generation or 2 ? If you could , where in time would you go first?
Seriously, one of the best singers of all time, he’s only showing you a fraction of his power here. Lots of people are suggesting Easy, so I’ll go with I Started a Joke. I’ve seen them live twice, almost 30 years apart.
For the next Faith No More song I'll recommend either "Ugly in the Morning" or "The Gentle Art of Making Enemies". Both are showcases for just how off the chain Mike Patton's vocals can get, and both are just plain badass songs. Both are from the album 'King for A Day Fool For A Lifetime', which is just a fantastic album provided you're ok with having your face rocked off.
Love watching a new generation discover Faith no More like I did back when Mtv was music and this video debuted. Just jump in the rabbit hole, you won't be disappointed.
Mike Patton's voice is just legendary. He's wearing the shirt from his older, more eclectic band "Mr.Bungle" in this video, and has been in 5-10 more projects like Peeping Tom (almost like chillstep, industrial, funk, and rap, DJ and all), Fantomas (straight-up insanity), and Lovage, which is like acid jazz with him and a female singer - incredible & weird and sometimes plain funny, like the song Book of the Month w/the lyric "You are the griddle, I am the meat." A few more bands from near to this style: (Hed)p.e., Zebrahead, Limp Bizkit, 311, and Rehab(who are a bit more traditional). I have a feeling you'll appreciate all five. Both (Hed)p.e. and Rehab did great songs named Bartender. Zebrahead did a cool song named "Get Back," the other two bands you could easily go by view-count and get good stuff. Oh one more, Saliva - Click Click Boom.
Their cover of War Pigs is fantastic. I was 15 when this came out, and it was amongst the first harder rock that I got into, as I was introduced to them, Metallica, and AC/DC by a couple of friends I made when I moved to a new school. It opened a door for me, and I am glad J enjoyed it so much.
Agreeing with many below that "Midlife Crisis" is a great second song to cut your teeth on, and I think Amber may gravitate to. Though you may want to have lyrics pulled up. At least for the verses (they're a little difficult to discern in the verses with the vocal technique Mike's using).
Agreed; "Easy" is one of the best covers, hands down. Mike Patton has great vocal range. In the league David Draiman of Disturbed "The Sound Of Silence".
@@deeksquad8305 I googled "brad Delp vocal range" and nothing comes up. Patton said it was about ungratified sex
Released towards the end of '89 on the album The Real Thing, and I believe this song was released as a single in January of 1990 (the very time I turned 7, lol). To say that this track blew the 80's off to the side and busted the door down to bring in that glorious decade we call the 90's is an understatement!
Faith No More and Living Color! The most underrated bands of the time 🎸🎧
So glad you’ve listen to them 💙
Amen! Amen! Especially Living Color for me. They had such a great groove. Great lyrics and songs. But FNM was awesome also. Loved this album.
@@carlpeterson8182 and that was how rock was DONE!
I can agree.Living color never got their Props🤘
FNM were absolutely never underrated.
FNM has many styles and is very versatile in blending styles as well.🙂
Was just going to suggest that😁👍
Yes! That song shook my music world when I was young.
@@stephaniegeer1691 Yep it is my fav too :)

Mike Patton is a legendary vocalist. He's got a variety of styles and his range is amazing.

No limits on his VOCALS none well not back in the 90s and early 2000s when i saw him first time 1991 faith no more at the AUCKLAND TOWN HALL
No he stinks he was so bad when he opened for Metallica in Detroit falling all over the place could not even understand his vocals . worst band I ever saw live.
@@darrinmoon1974 It happens...The worst show I ever saw was the Smashing Pumpkins.
This is one of those 80s to 90s transition songs
Right up there with Right Here Right Now by Jesus Jones in that category 😊. Hello, fellow Gen Xer lol
@@krash2fast99 Lol totally. Jesus Jones Right Here Right Now is the missing link. Gen X Baby!!
I consider angeldust the end of fnm. Once jim was out, it wasnt the same. He brought a straight metal sound to this ecelectic motley crew
Their cover of "Easy" by the Commodores is great as well.
Patton is a fantastic vocalist
Zombie Eaters, Kingdom Kindergarten. Those are really good follow ups to this.
Great track to react to. Definitely a influential band from the 90's. Other cool songs are "From out of Nowhere", "The Real Thing", "Falling To Pieces", "Midlife Crisis", "War Pigs", & "The Perfect Crime"
The song "Falling To Pieces" was used in the movie BLACK HAWK DOWN(2001) Definitely recommend watching it if you haven't seen it yet.
Then I would say the next one should be "The Real Thing" for Amber to get even more love.
whats more shocking is the guy singing has a 5+ octave vocal range, but most of this song is rap and hardly used
My 90s teen memory unlocked moments with this song. What??!! Totally forgot this!
Faith No More is my favorite band of all time. You guys should heard Midlife Crisis, Last Cup of Sorrow, Evidence to see more of this amazing band.
all fantastic songs . and small victory is awesome to .
Jizzlobber
Of all time? Lol
King for a day... is their best record. They are all great, but that one was my favorite.
Yes! I hope they keep going!
Love this band. They do a good rendition of a Sabbath song - War Pigs. Was great to see your reactions!!!
I found their version of War Pigs better than the original! A Sabbath fan workmate reluctantly agreed!
Their drummer went to to be Ozzy Osbourne's drummer for a while.
I'm glad you liked this so much. Faith No More is criminally underrated. Mike Patton's voice is like none other.
Faith No More is literally Epic. And they have a phenomenal cover of “Easy”, from the Commodores.
My favorite version…
@@Wrangzilla Mine as well ☺️
30 plus years later this song still gives me that vibe whenever I hear it! 👍
Love it. It's one of those End of the World songs
I just got chills again
This song was a metaphor of the music industry at that time. Metal was being lapped by grunge and that was being overtaken by rap. So they kept asking the question of "what is it" what will the new sound be and will they be playing it. The ending piano coupled with the "fish out of water" imagery personifies this.
😮
I always thought it was about masturbation
@@Kirksheltonit is
This was before grunge.
And voicing zombies in I Am Legend and many more. Dude is awesome!
Faith No More are a great band, i discovered them with that song back in 1989 when i was 16, they have alot of good songs.
- From Out Of Nowhere
- The Real Thing
- Zombie Eaters
- Midlife Crisis

I was 13 and within a week of hearing them initially I was playing Zombie Eaters and others on my guitar lol. I wonder if these two guys reacting realize this shit is from '89.
Hey, exactly my age too! I’ll be 50 in November. They had a pretty big following in my hometown in New Hampshirite. The college radio station had a metal DJ on Friday night and he played them all the time. Got to see them, Soundgarden, an Voivod play for 75 people in early 1990. It was “Epic”.

Midlife Crisis - classic arrangements. One my favourite tunes of the 90s
Such an amazing song, with metal, rock, and rap all seamlessly melded together. I think the bassist really likes Les Claypool and Mike Patton is an amazingly versatile vocalist- one of your reaction peers saw this video and asked about his style and range. I’ll never forget the answer from a viewer:
Q: How many voices does Mike Patton have?
A: All of them.
Oh, PS- next up should be Falling to Pieces from the same album.
@@chrislira3574 Midlife Crisis, STAT!!!
Chris Lira,
This was one of the earliest examples of the musical style known as Nu-Metal.
YES! I suggested this one soooo many times! Try “Falling To Pieces” next.
A small victory by them is fire 🔥🔥 and Mike Patton probably has one of the most versatile voices in music ,this guy can practically sing ANYTHING !!!
lol... I see what you did there!
Nice
Faith No More held a position in my top 5 bands for 15 years. They have so many good songs
Mike Patton is my favorite lead singer of any band ever.

The joy on their faces, so sweet to watch. 😊
I often wondered if Patton was actually a good rapper but this seems to confirm it!
This is my favourite reaction video, because of his reaction. So fun. Faith No More. Say no more.
Their cover of Midnight Cowboy was awesome, too
I second those suggestions…especially Midlife Crisis. Jay would dig that one for sure
@@joepaskowski9091 Yeah, I think they will both like Midlife Crisis.
We care A Lot was Chuck singing, not Mike. Still a great song
I saw them open for the Metallica / GNR tour back in the day. “Falling to Pieces” is still my favorite song of theirs.
Now this mustve been some show!
I really like this song but every time I think of it I think of Beavis and Butthead lol when they watched the video. "Boing, boing, boing, b-boing!"
I saw them at Giants Stadium during that tour. Great show.
My parents went to that concert! I was 9 and mad hating on them because they would take me! Lol

How can I like this comment more than once
I love Jay's reaction! That was our reaction when we first heard it!
Jay, the whole album is awesome. I played the crap out of this when I was younger. the singer has an enormous range. you'd be surprised.
Takes me back, that’s for sure. I’ve gotta dig it out and have a listen again.
FNM
Yes!!! One of my favorite all time songs! Glad y'all finally reacted to it. I KNEW Jay would love it.
They also have a great cover of 'Easy'
Ugly Kid Joe is another band that had a huge hit back in the day called 'Everything About You'
You should definitely check it out 👍
And speaking of covers, they should also check out Ugly Kid Joe's cover of Harry Chapin's "Cats In The Cradle"
@@vanessalucas4760 absolutely

This song and the whole album "The Real Thing" was a game changer and wayy ahead of everyone back in 1988 when it was released! Mike Patton is the most versatile vocal I've till now!theres no genre he can't sing! I was in high school when this was released and fortune enough to grow up with Faith No More! Hail! There probably wouldn't be no Limp Bizkit, Deftones, Korn, Linkin Park, Incubus if there was no Faith No More!
I friggin love watching these reaction videos of younguns introduced to one of the best groups of all time
Faith No More showed up during a time from the late 80's through the early 90's where bands were exploring new styles including fusion of more than one type of music, the beginning of Grunge and Industrial Rock . If you want more samples of the style of that time period Try Nine Inch Nail's "Head like a Hole" and Meatpuppets song "Backwater".
I love backwater
Meatpuppets there is a blast from the past
The follow up to this album "Angel Dust" is arguably the best metal album of the 90's. No joke.
Facts. I saw them on this tour when I was 19 and it was life changing.
I wouldn't even think of arguing with that!
Absolutely. It's in my top 2 records, period.
As time goes on that album really holds up exceedingly well
This song was a little groundbreaking when it came out in the late 80's. It was definitely a what genre would this song fall into? Great reaction! It's totally on par! 😉🙃
You will not believe the range on Mike Patton's voice - he can sing anything all the way up to opera.
The memories this song ignites for me. Perfection!!!!
This was amazing when it came out.. showing age here but I was maybe 12 when this came out.. mtv gen late 80s early 90s was an amazing time for music…it makes me smile that your generation enjoys music that made me😊
I grew up with headbangers ball yo mtv raps the game show remote control beavis and butthead ren and stimpy hey dude clarrissa .. ponder would you ever go back a generation or 2 ?
Absolutely love Jay's reaction to this song
This was the first album I ever bought as a young teen. Broke a rib at their concert.
FNMwas my best ever concert!!! We kinda destroyed the protection rails at the arena rocking to them!
You will love Faith No More. The basically play everything and Mike's voice is amazing. Check their cover of "Easy".
Damn, it's so beautiful to see you reacting to this song so genuinely.
Mike Patton's voice is just legendary. He's wearing the shirt from his older, more eclectic band "Mr.Bungle" in this video, and has been in 5-10 more projects like Peeping Tom (almost like chillstep, industrial, funk, and rap, DJ and all), Fantomas (straight-up insanity), and Lovage, which is like acid jazz with him and a female singer - incredible & weird and sometimes plain funny, like the song Book of the Month w/the lyric "You are the griddle, I am the meat."
A few more bands from near to this style: (Hed)p.e., Zebrahead, Limp Bizkit, 311, and Rehab(who are a bit more traditional).
This was their biggest hit but this entire album was amazing from beginning to end.
One of the most gifted voices there is!!
I agree. Like it better then the original.
he has a six octave range. One of the elite. Great band.
Read somewhere he has the widest vocal range of any rock singer 6 octaves. Axl Rose is #2 all time.
Brad Delp, the original Lead Singer of Boston had an 8 octave range. "More Than A Feeling" is a prime example of it.
@@deeksquad8305 I googled "brad Delp vocal range" and nothing comes up. Hell who knows with these lists one had AXl at #2 or #3 with Mike Patton at like #6 or #7 and even mentioning the article I read that had Mike at #1, and how he beat out axl on that list, but they put him way behind axl on their list. LOL I don't know.
Yup, I was looking forward to you being SHOOK on this one, you did not disappoint!!!
One of the greatest albums ever made by anybody period.
