Yes. It didn't introduce anything that amazing, altough it wasn't necessarily bad. Some would argue that Mw3 or Bo2 was the turning point, but those games had an amazing single player and a great third sidemode respectively, along with other goodies. This one however was lacking in a sense.
@@cornerianbird4767 I remember Mw3 was when people started to get sick of the franchise, because it didn't offer anything new compared to MW2. Fun fact: at the very end of the campaign, there is a short cut-scene that shows Logan in a pit. That pit is located in the jungle and what the cut-scene means is that Logan is being brainwashed, by having him alone in pit in the jungle. Look up it up
I remember playing Ghosts after school with my boyfriend 9 years ago before AW came out. I really, truly miss it. Maybe it's nostalgia, but I believe this game came out during the wrong time. Had it come out now, it would've been better received than the garbage Activision puts out today. I miss it and had great memories of the multiplayer. I never got mad at it, or any older COD. Today, I can't play a single COD match without enduring a player who acts like their life depends on a win

Gamers hate stuff whenever their friends hate them, they want to feel like they’re apart of something. It’s their fault that ghosts was hated so badly...years later they’re calling it an amazing cod game. It was always an amazing call of duty game.
@@jellyroll1682 Yeah, no. Of course when a lot of people say something is bad, people will become sheep but, the game really was shit. You personally can say you like it but no, saying it was an amazing game like that's a fact is just..eh.
Clan Wars was the best time I ever spent playing call of duty. The community was weak as hell and still is tbh. Nowadays they're more concerned with movement tech than actually being good at the game.
Same here. I replayed the last mission cause I thought it was multiple choice. The devs couldn't blame people for thinking that when it was the COD after BO2!
@@TheDaidai05 yes it does. It's funny because it actually makes more sense than mw2 and mw3. You see, in mw2 you see Russian army invade the USA through the Atlantic Ocean with millions of soldiers. That's just stupid. Furthermore, Russia invades the USA despite seeing Makarov on the camera. In mw3, Russia invades without any reason all of Europe in less than one day. Compared to that, Ghost is well written.
MI just need to put this out there. A Call of Duty Ghosts Reboot. Imagine: - an actually good story - mechanics reminiscent of the Modern Warfare 2 remake stealth missions, with the prybars made out of fan blades etc - ACTIVISION TEAMS UP WITH THE GUYS THAT MADE GHOST RECON / SPLINTER CELL - so we actually get the stealthy geurilla warfare we all thought we were going to get. - As such, have tie ins with either Ghost Recon or Splinter Cell (even subtly, like Scott Mitchel/ Sam Fisher doing briefings etc) As a result, this would create a direct link with Call of Duty Ghosts, Ghost Recon, Splinter Cell, Rainbow 6 (as R6 ties in with Ghost Recon) and The Division (As it is confirmed R6 and T.D are set in the same universe) - ACTUALLY USE MW GHOST, TYING IN WITH MW. This would create a point of convergence, between Call of Duty and the Clancyverse, also meaning characters could be shared between games. Keegan could be an R6 operator. Nokk or Jaeger appearing in Modern Warfare. Kozak appearing in the next Division. Price being mentioned in a Splinter Cell (as if they're ever making one of those again) This is never gonna happen, but imagine if it did. A Ghost Recon Future Soldier style (in gameplay) COD Ghosts Reboot that ties in (if not in a "My aunt's married cousin's husband's son's daughter twice removed" kinda way) with the Clancyverse. Unique and compelling gameplay and story, with many chances for Activision to make a fuck tonne of money to our ENJOYMENT. That would be fucking crazy. Awesome, but crazy.
I wanted to slap the guy complaining about the writing on the water cooler, you can tell he was on the hate bandwagon and was looking for reasons to validate his opinion
That would just hurt the game more since it would literally come after MW3, meaning people would just expect for any COD after Ghosts to have the same atmosphere since MW3 didn't differ enough to MW2 to have it's own unique identity, so having Ghosts come after that game would just make the "COD is just copy & pasting their games now, they're all the same thing" argument more valid.
Ghost Yeah MW3 was great. I don’t understand why people always bitch about how “it didn’t differ enough” bullshit! It differed in some great ways, there was like 3 times the kill streaks, many new weapons, perks, a greatly expanded spec ops missions system. More DLCs than MW2 to keep the game fresh after release. Fun new multiplayer game modes, and the ending to the Modern Warfare 3 Campaign was great. I just don’t get why people hate MW3, fuck those people.
ghost was interesting to me, because through out the entire game, logan never felt like the protagonist, that always felt like it was hesh. even those files you collect alude to this, cause when they were kids, it talked about how when their father looked behind them, he only noticed two sets of prints, his own and hesh's. Logan had walked the whole way following his brother's footsteps EXACTLY. the other ghosts always give logan assistance on missions, while hesh was more trusted to go on his own or with just one other member. Hesh was the one who truly sought revenge after their father's death. it gave me a weird fascination for the game, cause we weren't the main character, we were a side character.
I never noticed that, specially with the files that's very 8nteresting thanks for the insight id love to see this again, maybe if a Ghosts 2 comes ut where Logan maybe gets frustrated with being in a shadow and that's a good breaking point for him. What do you think he sounds like? I feel in the first few missions he would have a more inquisitive voice but later on when he becomes a ghost and Elias is killed he becomes more gruff maybe gets more snappy and aggressive
The campaign was amazing. The competitive scene for S&D was so much fun to watch/ be involved in. Extinction was probably the worst thing about that game. But other than that, I think the majority of ya'll really took this game for granted.
Ghosts happens after Modern Warfare, so my head cannon is that Simon "Ghost" Riley is reincarnated as a dog. Which explains why Riley is such a good dog
It was a good idea (except the limited wallet), but I wish like with Cold War's new take on zombies, with the story focused, linear maps, then playing them as an endless mode. I'd still prefer zombies, but I did really like the storyline in ghosts, especially tying in the main story of the game (like BO1 did).
something that REALLY bugged me with Ghosts was that the fancy new blur around the scope was horribly optimized, even on a very good PC for the time. the game itself ran at 100+ FPS for me, but had horrible stuttering and was dropping FPS into the low 10s when aiming down sights.
This was my first call of duty, and I was very fond of it. I later started hearing that everyone hated it, and I was super confused. I still have memories from spending hours trying to beat extinction with my friends and cousins.

@@Meson10 cod Vietnam definitely. It would be bad ass, violent, scary, and there really were no winners. Itd be awesome if they made one of the Vietnam war.
I always enjoyed the multiplayer maps in Ghosts. I like how they almost feel like random places in the world and not areas designed for people to shoot at each other that just try to look believable.
The multiplayer wasn’t my favorite, but I *think* it introduced my favorite game mode, infected. I loved the Campaign, in fact I finished it in 8 hours Extinction or whatever that alien game mode was, was a nice different take on zombies, and I thought it was okay.
Ghost was actually good, it just got released after black ops 2 so everyone was expecting something better then bo2, so it looked shitty but it was alright
That's what I'm saying! Is it a masterpiece? Good heavens, NO! I'm not saying that. I'm saying that due to BO2, people had near IMPOSSIBLY high expectations. That's why it got so much hate at first. AGAIN, because I know some dimwit will think I'm saying it, I'M NOT SAYING THE GAME IS PERFECT! In my opinion, it's only good for Extinction.
@@thomasmurrell9832 exactly! I loved ghosts and still hop on my ps3 and play it at times but the same happened with Infinite Warfare. Infinite Warfare was a good game with ridiculously fun zombies and an alright campaign. The multiplayer was also kinda fun and wasn't even that bad. People just wanted boots on the ground so they hated it because it was futuristic and they didn't want that.

I bet the Federation would fall apart in a matter of time. I’m not too familiar with South American politics but I’m pretty sure most countries there have little in common with each other in most cases.
@@ElTigre12024 from what i've heard, many south american countries hate america i'm not saying that the people there hate america, i'm saying all their governments hate america. and i heard this theory that ghosts actually takes place after the evil ending of black ops cold war, where nukes go off and america is suspected to be the culprit, and that really makes sense. the federation silently forms in the 1980s after the nukes, attacks central america (then elias' story takes place with america backing its central american allies), and then finally attacks america in 2013
you know what, they SHOULD make Call of Duty: Ghosts 2, finish the story, give the federation more lore, the multiplayer will have more people to fill the maps, and increase the maximum players.
it would be good, that way it could just save the way this game turned out if they made one today, with the warzone graphics and refreshed story, then I feel like it could've been a much much better game, probably not the best, but still

Looking back on Ghosts it wasn’t bad IMO, it just released at a bad time due to BO2. But its the COD fanbase, they were pissed at the fact it was slow then they turn around and get pissed at the advanced movement systems. You can only ever please half of the fan base. Or you just just remaster MW2🤷♂️
Damn you're right, and then another piece of the fanbase will complain that they're being unoriginal by remastering the games. It might be ignorant to say this but the fanbase is as inconsistent as the franchise itself.
True, but ghosts wasn't just anoying here and there, it literally broke the game. beyond normal complaints and gripes, the game was fundementally flawed. every cod between bo2 and CoD MW all replaced what made Cod good with "new" crappy shit, to a point where it wasn't even cod anymore. hear me out. if I wanted to buy a bike, once in a while I might settle for a downgrade? but here, I wanted a bike, and instead I got a bag of, marbles? like the fuck is the use for these, where did my bike go? I was looking to go from my fun bmx bike to maybe a mountain bike to shake things up, not a bag of fuckin marbles. WHERE DID THE BIKE GO?!
I honestly do wish this game was loved more. It was really one of the last time CoD tried something really new and fresh. Some of it was bad (and some very bad), but there were some good, great and even refreshing new things that we just haven't seen in a long time.
Ghosts had such a good foundation. The gunplay, hit detection and overall feel of the game was so good, but it was let down by poor map design. Atleast for MP that is.
ApexCris yeah i think this is the darkest and most ill-colored cod ever made. i personally loved ghosts but i think people hate it because if you pay attention to almost every single map, its just a dark wasteland.
@Anglo-Afghan Royalist SHG is really getting a reputation as the worst CoD dev, Infinity ward dropped the ball with Ghosts and Treyarch with the campaigns of BO3&4 (4 bc it didn’t even had a campaign lol) but SHG hasn’t made their own standalone great CoD game so far, AW was meh, WWII wasn’t good enough to say the least, and Vanguard isn’t much better than WWII
Well sometimes when you stay away from something of a long time you start to forget what makes the game bad. like one time me and my friend wanted to go back to destiny 1 but when we started to play we remembered why we didn’t get that many hours into it.
How can anyone hate this game? Fish will move out of the way when you swim towards them. This is a revolutionary masterpiece. It even has a dog. For you dog people.
I personally enjoyed the game a lot. And my brother did too. My favorites ever I think it’s the OG modern warfare and Black Ops 1. Also new Modern warfare when warzone launched. But ghosts has a place in my heart due to many factors. It was different. People always ask for change and when they get it they cry about it. I don’t understand that.
It’s funny that everybody hated on this game yet little did they know, a year later that shit would get worse lmao. But in my opinion I personally liked this cod. Also, I personally LOVED the Extinction game mode. I loved having to escape the map after activating the nuke.
What are you talking about, advanced warfare was one of the best cods to date, a long list of unique but fairly balanced memorable guns with lots of cool attachments, memorable, well made and well paced maps that changed as the game progressed, a movement system that was made to move between lvls but was hard to use as part of a combat strategy, futuristic elements but not ones that go too far, by far one of the best campaigns in call of duty history, with memorable characters great twists, a fantastic main villan, quick time events that didn't ruin the pace of the game, and it made you feel like an absolute badass as you were killing the bad guys not to mention the fun character customizations and unique weapon variant system with the only well made weapon variant system to date not to mention that the loot boxes were primarily earned through playing the game and you accually felt good when you got a rare item. It was alot like wow cataclysm if you have every played that game in that as a standalone product in comparison to the rest of the games in the series it was fantastic but it did introduce things that would later become the bane of the community when not done propperly sutch as the loot boxes and the boost jumping, 2 things whitch were carried on to black ops 3 but had not been done as well as aw did them. Overall it was a blast to play aw while it was out, better than ghosts and better than most cods, a rival to mw1 mw2 or bo2 in my opinion.
Joshua Drew there’s absolutely nothing balanced about running around a corner only to get 3 shotted by a fucking Goliath or speakeasy. And don’t even get me started on the fucking obsidian steed
One underrated feature of ghosts that doesn't get talked about is the scoreboard. Its tucked away in top right corner and your screen doesn't get plastered over with it during a match. I honestly love it and its sad they never implemented it again. Ghosts UI might be my favourite in all of the COD games
People say ghosts is the worst but when I had to 100% that game I wasn’t bored maybe if there was a hard achievement once in a while but infinite warfare oh my god don’t even get me started that was probably one of the most painful game to 100%

Had it come out now, it would've been better received than the garbage Activision puts out today. I miss it and had great memories of the multiplayer. I never got mad at it, or any older COD. A Call of Duty Ghosts Reboot.
Imagine:
- an actually good story
- mechanics reminiscent of the Modern Warfare 2 remake stealth missions, with the prybars made out of fan blades etc
- ACTIVISION TEAMS UP WITH THE GUYS THAT MADE GHOST RECON / SPLINTER CELL - so we actually get the stealthy geurilla warfare we all thought we were going to get.
- As such, have tie ins with either Ghost Recon or Splinter Cell (even subtly, like Scott Mitchel/ Sam Fisher doing briefings etc)
As a result, this would create a direct link with Call of Duty Ghosts, Ghost Recon, Splinter Cell, Rainbow 6 (as R6 ties in with Ghost Recon) and The Division (As it is confirmed R6 and T.D are set in the same universe)
- ACTUALLY USE MW GHOST, TYING IN WITH MW.
This would create a point of convergence, between Call of Duty and the Clancyverse, also meaning characters could be shared between games. Keegan could be an R6 operator. Nokk or Jaeger appearing in Modern Warfare. Kozak appearing in the next Division. Price being mentioned in a Splinter Cell (as if they're ever making one of those again)
This is never gonna happen, but imagine if it did.

That would just hurt the game more since it would literally come after MW3, meaning people would just expect for any COD after Ghosts to have the same atmosphere since MW3 didn't differ enough to MW2 to have it's own unique identity, so having Ghosts come after that game would just make the "COD is just copy & pasting their games now, they're all the same thing" argument more valid.

ghost was interesting to me, because through out the entire game, logan never felt like the protagonist, that always felt like it was hesh. even those files you collect alude to this, cause when they were kids, it talked about how when their father looked behind them, he only noticed two sets of prints, his own and hesh's.
That's my hope that if they make a second ghosts game, you play as hesh and actually speak
Everyone liked that
I never noticed that, specially with the files that's very 8nteresting thanks for the insight id love to see this again, maybe if a Ghosts 2 comes ut where Logan maybe gets frustrated with being in a shadow and that's a good breaking point for him. What do you think he sounds like? I feel in the first few missions he would have a more inquisitive voice but later on when he becomes a ghost and Elias is killed he becomes more gruff maybe gets more snappy and aggressive
It would’ve been so much easier to understand if Logan talked during the single player

I was looking to go from my fun bmx bike to maybe a mountain bike to shake things up, not a bag of fuckin marbles. WHERE DID THE BIKE GO?!
I actually liked the campaign.
@@dylantorres3330 ya it's heavier stealth approach makes it distinct from the rest as well
I honestly do wish this game was loved more. It was really one of the last time CoD tried something really new and fresh. Some of it was bad (and some very bad), but there were some good, great and even refreshing new things that we just haven't seen in a long time.
Yeah the fish AI was pretty awesome wish they’d bring it back
true
i agree it was fresh and new
More good then bad I have no regrets leaving this trash behind
@@bigdoge6602 as the rest of us feel about leaving YOU behind
Ghosts had such a good foundation. The gunplay, hit detection and overall feel of the game was so good, but it was let down by poor map design. Atleast for MP that is.
Maps were good, the problem is they are too big
map is just unfitting to the series. it was the map that should have been built by BF4 team.
Worst map design goes to mw 2019 hands down, and we thought ghosts was bad
Ghosts had the best hit detection of any CoD ime.
ApexCris yeah i think this is the darkest and most ill-colored cod ever made. i personally loved ghosts but i think people hate it because if you pay attention to almost every single map, its just a dark wasteland.
unpopular opinion but ghosts was by far my favorite game im terms of search and destroy. The maps are AMAZING idk wtf they’re talking about.
Ghost: “I am the worst”
Vanguard: “am I a joke to you?”
Vanguard may not be the worst, but really feels like the most mediocre or the least necessary one.
@@SergioMach7 have you seen the cod tubers talking about it?? It sucks!!
I hate vanguard and infinite and WW2 more than Ghost.
@@growngamer12 Why infinite though?
People back then: ghosts is trash!
People now: *perhaps I treated you harshly*
No. It was sht then and its (arguably) more sht today.
@@Jurgir09 it's less shit today if you play it
@@jackingofftoraelilblack2342 I'm playing extinction rn and I fucking love it
Well sometimes when you stay away from something of a long time you start to forget what makes the game bad. like one time me and my friend wanted to go back to destiny 1 but when we started to play we remembered why we didn’t get that many hours into it.
@@Jurgir09 It's arguably better than both BO2 and MW2.
How can anyone hate this game? Fish will move out of the way when you swim towards them. This is a revolutionary masterpiece. It even has a dog. For you dog people.
Yeah thats why i am Playing cod compaighn right now
Ppl just hate innovation, they all sucked MW3 hard when it was just a copycat of MW2.
Spartan Q77 ‘masterpiece’
I think we have very different definitions of masterpiece
@@bungiescams3292 1 he joking.
2 this game is a masterpiece for real
kRosZ again, very warped definition of masterpiece
Extinction was fun but its definitely not a solo mode game i think that's what actman is getting at
Joshua Drew there’s absolutely nothing balanced about running around a corner only to get 3 shotted by a fucking Goliath or speakeasy. And don’t even get me started on the fucking obsidian steed
Duh what do you think this was one of my best cod games i ever played but other little shit only thinks the game sucks but it isnt totally true
The Prodigal Knight I know it’s awesome
One underrated feature of ghosts that doesn't get talked about is the scoreboard. Its tucked away in top right corner and your screen doesn't get plastered over with it during a match. I honestly love it and its sad they never implemented it again. Ghosts UI might be my favourite in all of the COD games

I loved the Ghosts masks. I wanted one when the game came out.
Lone WolfGamingPlus right I wanted Elias now Logan’s mask his was the best besides Keegan’s

I actually got one of those masks
People say ghosts is the worst but when I had to 100% that game I wasn’t bored maybe if there was a hard achievement once in a while but infinite warfare oh my god don’t even get me started that was probably one of the most painful game to 100%
Cody Rogers how??
