The reason they didnt recognize makarov at the airport is because he was wearing a shirt. They only had the picture of him shirtless so they didnt recognize him in clothes
If you weren’t happy with the way Soap died, don’t worry. He’ll be back next season of warzone when it’s revealed that the person who was shot was actually his twin brother Shampoo
I think one of the reasons why there’s no Music is because Sarah Schancher, the soundtrack designers for MW2019 and MWII, actually left Call of Duty after the latter came out. Yes even the soundtrack designers had toxic workplace issues.
Combined with the tight deadline there probably wasn't any time to grab a new soundesigner. Wouldn't have been surprised if they just grabbed old MW2019-22 tracks
Funny thing about Graves' reveal he was still alive: Alex says that the tank incident was in South America. MW2 took place in Mexico, which is in North America. The writers don't even know basic geography and think everything south of the US is South America.
M8 this game is the worst FPS of the past 20 years, there is not a single redeeming factor inside, its the most soulless attempt to reshape a success into a new one and then failed in everything, its like the sledgehammer that worked lost all of the original staff and now only NPC's who used CHAT GPT are working now.
You reminded me of the Cold War campaign. In the brief with Reagan, he says he approved their last mission which takes place before his inauguration date. Treyarch can't even Google simple things like correct dates.
first was the making fun of microtransactions on the game awards 2017 now this year is kratos telling the audience and the viewers that his speech was longer then this years cod campaign
So they say that the gas they use in the campaign is "highly concentrated sarin gas." Sarin is a nerve agent which means that it blocks the enzime in your body that tells your nerve receptors to deactivate, meaning your muscles can contract but not release. Direct expose to sarin like breathing it in will cause you to be symtomatic in less than 60 seconds (general paralysis of limbs)and dead in 4 minutes (from paralysis of heart or lungs). However there is a "antidote." Atropine works by filling your system with what is basically an artifical version of that enzyme from earlier, filling your body with so much of it that it dilutes the nerve agent and shuts off your muscles nerve receptors. So all your muscles relax, including your bootyhole so you will crap your pants. After that you need to keep up with regular injections of another chemical until all of the nerve agent is out of your system. So Price should have either died painfully over several minutes, or been hit with an autoinjector, shit his pants then spend serveral days in a hospital. Also this was done in a 10 minute google search, they had 16 months.
Sarin gas is very strange; I too have read about how immediately lethal it is. Yet actual sarin gas attacks have been fairly mild, compared to what we're told should happen--far fewer people died despite widespread exposure. It doesn't appear to actually be as lethal in the real world.
@@billjacobs521 It's a difficult compound to disperse, same issue as with most chemical/biological agents; they're difficult to to get the delivery system correct (thank fuck). The fact that it's pretty damn illegal to experiment with proper delivery systems means that it's use in the "wild" has mixed results.
Sarin gas is also colorless and odorless, so it shouldnt be green. Clearly it was supposed to be Nova 6 but they backed out at the last second for no reason
@@ahmadsuleman9045yeah I figured it was nova, since some dude literally melted from it when Price when up the rope, which made it more jarring Price survived it.
@@ahmadsuleman9045why tf would it be nova 6, makes no sense for the lore since only top secret governments had it, not terrorists groups and doesn’t make sense in game since that’d mean price, Laswell and even Yuri are immortal

Something that I really loved about og soap is how selfless he was, even after he heard Makarov call Yuri "my friend" he still made sure to get Yuri out of the building before himself. I was not expecting this to blow up, I even got a like from the Act Man himself!
The new soap looks so goofy to me. I don't know why but he has that naive and cliché personality of "I'm a good guy so I shoot bad guy! Killing is bad!" OG soap was more nuanced. He inspired you, he felt badass and earned our respect
@@zaer-ezartI often see people say that the characters in the new trilogy are better than their old versions because the new ones are more developed. While that’s technically true because they have more dialogue and screen time in cutscenes, they’re still written pretty poorly. More development does not automatically mean better written. At least the old characters actually felt like soldiers and not manchildren running around with airsoft guns.
@@GLC48 While gas is more developed since he's been in 3 games instead of one, I DON'T understand why people prefer the new price to the old one. The old price was a battle hardened veteran with a badass voice, when he was around you felt safe because you knew he was there to protect you and with his experience he would rarely get caught off guard. He oozed with charisma and authority. The new price has nothing of that. He's supposed to be this veteran who's seen it all yet he's caught off guard and outsmarted in almost every mission
23:24 In the original game, the airport massacre is the event that puts the campaigns plot into motion, in 2023 it’s just another attack that has no repercussions at all
I think robbing us of No Russian really made Makarov seem way less evil than in the original. The original mission not only forced the player into an uncomfortable position, but also made us realize how truly despicable Makarov and his followers are. Its such a huge missed opportunity all for the sake of "not triggering people"
@@bjones243especially since shooting those civilians was our choice. Reply the mission, you could literally play it with out shooting one civilian. WE did that, it was OUR choice
@@ntfoperative9432I don't know if it was on purpose but the game kinda takes that responsibility away from you since you're told that you have to gain makarov's trust and doing so will save a lot of lives. So you just tell yourself "I may be killing those civilians but it will be worth it in the end, I'll save more lives afterwards"
The moment I realized there was no saving MWIII’s campaign was the moment when Price woke up and immediately shrugged off the gas he passed out from. The best word to describe this campaign is *betrayal.*
Amen to that. When I was a kid, I bought the old WW2 CoDs the same way I bought the old Medal of Honor games: to be immersed in the campaign and learn about history. Even when they shifted to modern and futuristic times, I still enjoyed the campaign. To see CoD reduced to...this sorry state... is heart-rending.
To be fair, Campaign hasn’t been the main draw of the franchise since 2006. Yeah, a CoD game isn’t complete without the campaign, multiplayer, and a third mode, but let’s not pretend the main reason people play CoD isn’t to hop on MP with the boys.
What’s funny is that they actually managed to mess up what was probably the easiest trilogy to remake. They could have done the exact same story with minor changes and everyone would have been happy.
TBH, i expected characters like Al Asad or Zakhaev to appear in new trilogy, they could just give them different origins etc. When i learned that characters are getting killed or came back from the dead in season cutscenes or whatever that bullshit was i understood it is going in wrong direction. And i really liked MW19 story...
@@juehjuThat kind of reasoning is why the bullshit keeps on happening. You feed the narrative, those gaming companies are going to produce garbage if you expect them to produce garbage.
“To play a wrong note is insignificant, to play without passion is inexcusable.” A quote by Beethoven that can loosely be applied to game development at this point. “To mess up one line of code or release behind schedule is insignificant, to develop a game with no passion is inexcusable” or something like that.
i would argue theres alot more passion behind this which sledgehammer has put in compared to what infinity wards has done for MWII 2022. The multiplayer is really fun and the amount of camos and weapons sledgehammer is releasing for absolutely free is allmost unheard of in COD ever since advanced warfare rolled around. The campaign is shit yet but i can hardly fault sledge for it, 16 months to develop a game is absolutely no time at all and yes i was disappointed but i dont hold it against them. Zombies is great, warzone is great and multiplayer is fast paced. Is it a good game to me? Yes, to you, you may think differently, but i dont think its fair to say sledgehammer isnt passionate about this game.
@k3tara178 zombies sucks ass, warzone sucks, and the only thing good about this game is the movement that's it. Not worth $110 AUD for a FUCKING SHIT DLC. yet of course people have shit taste and won't play any other games except CoD
@@k3tara178OMG THEY DID THE BARE MINIMUM AND MADE THE CAMOS FREE IN A GAME YOU ALREADY PAID 70$ FOR WHEN IT SHOULD BE 60$?!?! HOW PASSIONATE! ITS NOT LIKE TITANFALL 2 ALREADY DID THIS AND MUCH MORE IN 2016. "Zombies is great" 🤣

Farah admitting to working with Shadow Company is so brainrottingly stupid it had to have been written as a joke that got taken seriously. Remember when Price drew a GUN on Yuri after punching him down a flight of stairs because Makarov said his name once??? And now Price is just cool with Farah dropping the fact that shes working with the enemy like its nothing. What?
You kinda got it a little wrong. Price hit and threatened Yuri because Soap told him Makarov knows him before he died, and so, Price interrogated Yuri for what he knows about Makarov.
Because that would make a woman seem flawed in a modern western video game. Can't have that anymore. Think about it. When was the last time a female character was allowed to have a character flaw in your recent memory?
@@Vespyr_It's so infuriating because it's just sexism in the opposite direction. Give us shitty villainous women, give us heroic women with flaws they need to overcome, give us *human fucking women!*
Honestly, this isn't a game. It's a litmus test for just how cheap Activision can pump out a CoD. I think it's obvious that they were 100% aware of the controversy this game's quality would bring, but they're banking on the unaware or uncaring casual market being so strong that they didn't care. It's amazing that they've basically given up on goodwill towards their dedicated fans and are making games for people who don't know or care about their history. Since MW3 is already 30% off on sale, it seems like they realized how bad an idea it is.
Remember when each cod came out and people would complain about reused weapons? Well... I would give anything for cod to be in that era again where that was the worst issue
They love using as much money as possible to advertise and as little as possible to make it. This game had a billion dollar budget, and 75% of it or more was used for advertisements. Let that sink in
After the recent incident involving the entire COD team getting pissy over a light joke made by Christopher judges at the game awards I've officially lost any and all respect for the team behind these games All the dude said was their game was short but they act like he broke into their house and lit their living room on fire Really shows how inflated their egos are
One of them tweeted that "they've heard worse," but it was shocking because the joke came from a peer in the industry. Like piss off, yeah? A good peer calls you out on your stupid crap and MW3 is a garbage. They can't handle someone who has good rapport with the gaming community calling them out.
Soap was so underutilized this entire trilogy smh. He was good in MW2, but in this game he felt unimportant. Also hate how they took away everything that made his character cool, he’s just a sergeant now, but he used to be the Captain after Price was captured. He pulled a damn knife out of his chest to kill Shepherd and survived. He survived the bridge against Zakhaev and killed him too. He killed 2/3 major villains in the first trilogy, was Ghost’s captain, and went out heroic. These two games watered down his character so much
One thing that bothers me about the campaign is how task force 141 deals with LITERALLY EVERYTHING that happens. They go all around the world with no problem whatsoever. What happened to playing as other factions, like when price in the og mw3 needed delta force to capture volk in France since he was busy in a different part of Europe. Or the SAS trying to find makarovs gas themselves, and many other examples it makes the setting feel really limited.
even in mw2 ww Had Vargas group, Soap and Roach working with specops teams and Vargas, Price and Gaz doing stuff on the other end of the planet doing the more stealthy stuff most of the time. MW3 was supposed to be just a multiplayer expansion. The single player scenes were already filmed but they decided to give us a mess of a campaign. If your not going to put bgm in scene make it a huge firefight. The battlefield around you will create the ambiance. Original Modern Warfare did that with the SAS mission where we had to defend ourselves in the abandoned village and the bgm only kicked in until we got on the Chinook and everyone extracted. Modern Warfare 2019 did it when had to defend ourselves at the US Ambassadors residence. I don't feel sorry for activision. I do feel sorry for the developers who were forced to rush a single player that was so terribly written. Activision you were starting to get good. Then went back to your old ways and screwed the pooch. Congratulations
Feels the same as Game of Thrones traveling where some how armies are moving across the world in matter of minutes. It's just TF-141 moving all around the world without any rest 24/7.
@@TS111WASDmy theory is they only make it that big because then you have less space for other games. The you need to delete other games for mw3 and then have less options to play a game that is installed
i love how they claim to not be able to code in friendlies into the "Open world" Missions, yet the original MW3 had that durring the Spec ops survival, which was, in essence, a open world mission
It isn't worse, the campaign might be but the multiplayer is actually decent, anyone saying otherwise is clueless or a bot, in which case MWII is there for you to sit in corners 24/7.
Ghost in 2022: "Hey, tell us what we want to know, or we'll drain your bank account" Ghost in 2009: "Hey, tell us what we want to know or i'll blowtorch you until the skin melts off your bones"
Fun fact, in the original game, Ghost use a car battery to electrocute Roja's assistant, but in the remaster, he use a blowtorch. It could be an attempt at censorship, but I really doubt it since burning is as, if not more painful
@@ahmadsuleman9045 I know, i honestly liked the remaster ”scene” more just for that reason, blowtorch is so much scarier and painful, but yeah, you’re right
@@EliaGram The point still stands, it's pretty pitiful that TF 141 doesn't so much as hit Milena, especially since COD has a track record of not sparing women from violence
Honestly, thats a good way to look at games that are getting large amounts of negative reviews that you enjoy playing. "Have fun with the game, but don't defend it."
The open combat missions totally could have worked. Let us pick our kit, brief us on the plane, let us jump out into a dark area we've never seen before and get everyone coordinated to do exactly what we were briefed to do. Small problems could have cropped up to make things interesting, then everybody moves in. Could have been amazing, but no. They didn't want to do that.
They killed Soap out of malicious compliance cuz we complained that no one stayed dead. But the worst part of it to me, was the scene where they spread his ashes. Soap's original death scene properly stunned me the first time I played it. Price's horrified cries, knowing him to be the most composed man in the story, that was ACTUAL emotion. They just kinda walked away after saying some mugged up lines. I hated the entire storyline from the bottom of my heart cuz they ruined one of my favorite characters in gaming entirely. Price was literally SENILE in this game. Remember the price who held a warlord a gas mask and then point blank shot him with a desert eagle? This wasn't Price dude.
I feel like the people who make these horrible campaigns just ran a script for each of the missions through an AI generator and did whatever the AI threw at them.
So something I just remembered while watching this video is during the mission where you save Shepherd, there was no point in setting up Ghost and Farha as snipers. As soon as the mission starts there already way ahead of you in the mission normally when you set up snipers you expect to either play the sniper or have a mission where you have sniper support so there was no point even setting that up and now looking back that really pisses me off. Hell I remember a mission in one of the OG modern warfare's at least I believe it was one of them where you're playing through the mission and halfway through you come across some snipers that were like lost by their battalion or something and through the rest of the mission they give you sniper support I don't understand why they couldn't do that in one of the half emissions where it's actually a linear mission.
Can’t wait for Soap’s death to be retconned in Modern Warfare 4 like: “I thought you were cremated and had your ashes scattered?” “Well I wasn’t in that urn”
COD fanboys and Content Creators: OMG! They changed the movement! The whole game is a Frankenstein from older games but now you can play like Cranked 24/7, worth my 70 dollars 🤡

Do people forget that in Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, that we killed General Shepard. Gaz Dead, Soap Dead, Roach Dead? LIKE WHERE THE FUCK IS ROACH NOW!?! They brought everyone back but left him out?
They didn't break back kamerov or Yuri. Each one only got one cutscene. Imagine if we played as Yuri for a few missions. We start with working for makerov, actually seeing how sadistic he is, before Yuri decides it's not right. That would have been dope.
Apparently they also wanted to rewrite how soap dies. Or the significance of Yuri being found out at the time of his death. Not only is it not creative it's actually getting rid of the creativity and respect for soap. Truly disappointing and am glad I didn't buy the game.
Crawling through the abandoned ruins of Pripyat in a ghillie suit with a silenced rifle, channeling the specter of death itself to silently cut through such a crazy number of enemies, is a core memory for me. How the mighty have fallen.
That mighty is even worse when you realize that the original Call of Duty was made by the same people who made the Medal of Honor games a hit, you can bet your ass those people aren't there anymore.
Man this is exactly the mission I think of every time when I think of call of duty being so iconic and memorable, Ghillies in the Mist will forever be their greatest mission 🙏
The only enjoyment I got out of Halo 5 was watching my step-dad play and in that final arena before the ending when he used a jump pad and got sliced in half nuts to throat and that few seconds of silliness was still better then MW3

This years COD is the perfect example of blatant corporate greed. It’s like they’ve tested the waters for so long and determined people really will buy anything lol
This is now happening in every single industry. Small businesses go away, big businesses get larger, demand higher profit every single quarter, and consumers get screwed over with inferior products while they have zero other options. Something has to change or it’s going to get worse.
Worth pointing out that sledgehammer also didn't even make the MW2 maps themselves, they were for the cancelled MW2 Remastered Multiplayer. They just slightly facelifted those maps and put them into MW3 so they had something.
I don't think that's true, I remember the rumor was that the maps were made as dlc for MWIi last year, but they decided that was a bit of critical flop and decided to do this. I do remember hearing that the maps are supposed to be from "MW2 Remastered Multiplayer." But I don't think that's how it works. They typically need to start over from scratch when doing so. This is mostly information I've gathered from zombies map developers and is the big reason we don't see big 1-1 remaster's more often. That being said, I don't think developing maps for multiplayer is any easier than developing a zombies map. So the rumor that these are directly from the cancelled MW2 remastered multiplayer, are very unlikely.
@@MisterAnonymous1000 References to them were found by dataminers in MW2 remastered. But on its face, does it make ANY sense that they just decided to remake all these maps for their multiplayer mode and not include any original ones, or even remade maps from MW3? They just copypasted MW2's maps. Even if they were meant to be MWii DLC, why would they remake every map? It's so much effort when realistically it would make more sense for them to focus on a handful of the most popular ones. Keep in mind, high-rise already existed in the game on Warzone. Quarry already existed. So many of the old maps were cleverly brought back to act as small sections of the warzone map. If they were remaking these maps as DLC for MW2, and decided to scrape together MW3 from this recycled cod/warzone content, why would they dedicate time to remaking those maps when they've already made them and could just cut-off sections of the warzone map to use in multiplayer. They've already been doing this, several maps from MW2 are just parts of the warzone maps segmented. The only thing that makes sense is that these maps were at least half-built for a cut multiplayer mode in the remastered version. Work probably went into converting the assets into MW's current engine, but the only way the recreation of these maps make ANY sense is that they had to begin life outside of MWii or MWiii.
@@MisterAnonymous1000 If this were true and they were made from the ground up, why? Why remake these maps when you could make new maps in the same time frame? Considering the entire campaign was just re-used warzone maps, it would be very hard to not at least acknowledge the possibility of this. It's more than likely considering the time it took to make the game, and if they were to remaster any maps at all from the past from the ground up, it would make much more logical sense to remaster the MW3 2011 maps since that is what this game is a reboot of. There was also plenty of datamining from the MW2 remastered campaign to support that MW2 was supposed to have a multiplayer with it, but they didn't want it competing with the rebooted MW, considering how the Cod4 remaster out competed infinite warfare.
the crazy part is that just 12 liters of sarin gas was put in a subway station in a terrorist attack in japan and it made some people convulse so hard they broke their own spine and in the end killed 13 people but also hospitalized about 300 more for weeks and for the writers to just have price be fine 20 seconds later shows how bad the writing is
The worst part is, they are working with about 5 people, but they would still have connections from their previous SAS days, but they don't use them or think to transfer their knowledge to the governments of the world. Also noticed this game was made by sledgehammer. what happened to them turning into a support company
Compare “five years ago, I lost 30,000 men in the blink of an eye, and the world just fucking watched” to “im not going out like this, i want my name on a win”. It’s the most neutered tactless downgrade in character and the whole game reflects that
exactly, because he has no reason to be a villain in this. in old mw2, shepard wanted to be a hero by escalating then ending the war by his hand to get the stain of 30,00 marine's death off his name while makarov wanted to escalate the war because of imran zachiev's (idk how to spell it) death. then after price ended the war by launching the emp which shepard didn't want because he can't look like the hero, shepard cuts loose ends by killing 141 and taking the dsm containing makarovs plans to show to the world who still think americans shot up the airport. in this new mw2 shepard literally has no reason to do anything besides just being a general, he has no real plot to him
Kinda feels like they neutered Price during the story as well. 2011 mw3 Makarov to Price: An enemy who can match wits and counter him on the field. 2023 mw3 Makarov to Price: Joker to his batman
My favorite part about Laswell risking her life for a thumb drive is that whatever info is on it could have probably been sent digitally over secretive, obfuscated means. This isn’t 1980 anymore
Never has The Act Man been so wrong in his review. You see, the reason why Alex survived the explosion, Graves survived the tank, Price immediately got back up from the gas, and eventually Soap will be revealed to have survived from getting head-shoted, is all because… They had FAMILY
I think that the mission where graves betrayed task force 141 made one of the better missions like u have wake up as a wounded soldier, you have to craft things and kill people to get guns and ammo and boom you’re back as a soldier with weapons
imagine how cool it would’ve been if instead of a cut scene of the “abort” moment, it puts you in a mission like any other with a normal intro and halfway through the mission you get the message that he escaped and then you have to exfil early
My favorite part of MW3 was when during release, I was having a hard time connecting to any matches and when I did, every match was an unbearable lag fest. Menus were taking forever to load, create-a-class wouldn’t show the weapons, operators weren’t loading correctly. Everything was a mess. *except for the in-game store*
The open combat missions were by far the worst part of the already bad campaign. Even if they wanted to tell a good story, how do you do that when every other mission interrupts the story arc with "diffuse four bombs"? This was an active choice by the Dev team after the really good story from last year's COD. Wow.
i do think the open combat missions had some potential, as SIDE MISSIONS. The one with Gaz ascending a building was actually good, not gonna lie. I would be fine with those missions if they didn’t make up the majority of the campaign.
Nah I really don’t know how they could mess it up that bad. Honestly I would have been fine if they made a 2 hour campaign but it’s nuts to butts the whole time. Also if the campaign was good the fact they couldn’t be any lazier with the multiplayer more okay. This game is just sad
I think it's pretty obvious that Alex and Graves were never originally intended to return to the modern warfare storyline. They were going to be in a sort of shrodinger state, so they could have their ending in the main story, but at the same time they'd be revealed to have survived in a Warzone cutscene so they could market them as an operator and sell them. It's also probably why no player characters flatline during MW 2019 and MW 2 2022. But they just didn't have any choice but to use Warzone story elements, because they had to asset flip all these scrapped warzone missions and mask them as single player content.
@@TheButterAnvil paying attention to the audio in the final mission shows he wasn't in the tank also in DMZ there's some anonymous letters written by graves when he was presumed dead around building 21 (might be other locations too idk)
That does make some sense. Though if I remember correctly, Black Ops 4 had operators of characters that were canonically dead and it was totally fine. I think people understand the difference between multiplayer and the campaign narrative. Maybe Sledgehammer just screwed up and misinterpreted that
I think you should read about the story of Vince Zampella and Jason West. Under different company/studio names they created Medal of Honor: Allied assault, before creating Call of Duty 1 & 2. Then they got screwed by activision who gave COD 3 to another studio, so they made Modern Warfare to stay ahead. After creating MW 1 & 2 they got fired by Activision, who was pumping other COD games through treyarch (the Black OPS) and co. MW 3 was made after they got fired and was a c/c of previous MW, that's when it started to feel bland. Also, since the beginning Zampella and West had the plan to make a "futuristic shooter" with jetpacks and wallruns, but got fired before they could implement it. When they went to Respawn to create Titanfall 1 & 2, Activision who knew what they wanted to create (and knew how good they were) started pumping futuristic CODs that were just "meh" to compete against them and ruind the market in advance. So all along, all the good good ones are made by these guys (and the rest of the team that followed them everywhere) while every COD that was "meh" was actually just average copy/pasted crap to make money and exploit the franchise that built a good reputation through their games. And when Activision ran out of ideas (because they just want money and don't care about quality), they rebooted and just printed MW, MW2 and MW3 again. Now they have nothing left to copy and Kotick left, so I honestly don't know how they'll be able to survive. Anyway, this whole story is crazy and I really invite you to read about it, since you seem really invested in the franchise.
Honestly though, they could probably save themselves by venturing into vr. Most VR shooters are fairly timid, and technology has advanced to the point where a good spectacle shooter would be amazing. Literally all they would have to do is make a near direct port of COD 4, MW2, MW3, Black ops, or Black ops 2 and that would sell like wildfire.
@@W.A.Wombat honestly I see Activision getting all the player base back, then adding some even more predatory shit in-game. It’s best to just give up on CoD as a whole at this point bc they won’t ever change so why bother?
Dude my tactical sprint just stoped working and it won’t ever work again. I even contacted support and they just sent a generic troubleshooting process. I still can’t even tactical sprint in a game that I paid $70 for.
Here's a few more plot-holes: - Yuri makes one appearance in the entire campaign, never comes back in any way shape or form - Why didn't samara let go of the gun that was clearly making her look like more of a threat (not that the bomb vest didn't already do that..) It clearly wasn't glued to her hand - Why is Makarov there? Why couldn't he just let his goons do the job without risking his life? - Why didn't Samara jump off the plane? (Although this is a stretch since she was clearly in a state of shock unable to comprehend what do to, naively thinking she could still survive and didn't want to guarantee her death) - Why didn't Samara use the gun in her hand to shoot the bald guy who said she looked like a terrorist? If It was me I'd be very insulted and shoot his ass - Laswell says "Not enough to prove anything" although there is clearly a video of Makarov boarding the same flight that exploded, how didn't he die? How did he escape? Did no one ask themselves these questions? - How did Shepherd get captured? (Yes, it was pointed out in the video but I'd like to add to that) He was all the way over in the US when they're based in Russia, how did Makarov's men, or him, infiltrate into the country, with weapons (presumably), into the Pentagon (I think that's where Shepherd was or usually spends his time in the office) and manage to capture Shepherd? How didn't his absence go unnoted by anyone? How did he get captured and transported in such a short interval between the video call with Graves and the Siberia Mission? I would also note the HUGE, MASSIVE, GIGANTIC, number of plot-holes associated with Soap's death and the rest of the campaign but that'd require a whole word document.
Also why did Samara go after the phone when there's nothing about the display that indicates it can deactivate the bomb? After seeing this I have an entirely different type of appreciation for Ghosts, Advanced Warfare, and WW2 so much more. Even with how much criticism they had on release they were all totally original games. You can’t reboot a longtime beloved series with it’s original characters and maps with nothing to improve on. MWlll has to be worst COD of all time since it discredits everything that made the franchise amazing.

I love how Farah explicitly tells Price that she's hiding secrets from him then instantly asks if he trusts she's being honest as if she didn't just admit she's not???
My favorite genre, which i call Military Vaguery. People randomly hiding essential information from allies to keep an atmosphere of intrigue. Soldiers are not superspies, cut tat shit out.
Og mw2 Makarov: he has no rules, no boundaries, he doesn’t flinch at torture, human trafficking or genocide. He’s not loyal to a flag or country or any set of ideals. He trades blood for money. And he is your new best friend Mw3 Makarov: hm, yes the prisoners. That’s why the guards need guns.
Man seeing the setpeices in the original games really shows how much more creative and dynamic they were. Still look top tier today. Obviously they are going for a 'realistic' tone now but they are not doing that right either.
Also it feels too basic, like in mw2 we had plenty of locations from Brazil, to the us to Afghanistan, games like mwll to narrow with it mainly in las Almas and Al mazrah
In regards to Graves and Alex being "dead". The one trope that COD has carried through generations is that no one dies off screen. Sgt. Woods had a fakeout in BO1 when he literally pulled a grenade belt. Hell, even kravchenko survived the very same grenades that were strapped to his chest.
Was gonna say we never saw a body or anything, so most of us expected them to be alive, especially since cod loves to bamboozle us. I wasnt surprised at all to see graves
At least with woods and Kravchenko you saw the grenades were stuck on the pole, with Alex and graves there’s no explanation for how they survived other than “I wasn’t in the tank”
I mean Reznov died of screen, which uses the same trope you’ve mentioned to make you think he didn’t actually die while he did, but yeah generally you are correct.
@xthemoonligherx0072 fair, but I think treyarch did that intentionally to play into the mind games that Black Ops1 revolved so heavily around. I did absolutely love that twist, though.
I think an amazing way to compare this campaign with the OG MW3 is the scene with Makarov’s accountant vs. the scene with the African warlord. They just let the woman live and keep all her money. In the original Price releases the gas, dangles a gas mask in Warabe’s face before tossing it to him, then fuckin domes his ass after saying “This is for the boys at Hereford.”
I was 14 years old when I bought the very first cod game brand new. Now I'm in my mid 30s. When cod4 came out I was amazed and wondered what cod would be like in another 10 years. And now over 15 years later it's still the same old game like that shipment map itself. Cod is outdated garbage
I recently played World at War for the first time and I was stunned by how much better it was than all call of duty that came out in the past years. It was an absolute blast of a campaign. So many memorable moments and the other Cod games from that age aren't much worse. Crazy
I still remember sooo well when WoW was announced that the vast majority of people I knew were critical of the fact that it went back to World War 2 rather than continuing on the then "fresh take" of modern warfare. Watching the years go by and see WoW grow into not just an appreciated but adored entry in the series warms my heart, because by God does it deserve it.

I notice after watching this video a few times that when you were talking about how trashy they killed off Soap; Ghost not only told Price that Macorov is there in the mission, but also specifically says he is HEADING towards Price's way. Which further makes it even more dumb how caught off guard Price and Soap were.
Well Price was keeping everyone off of Soap and would probably keep guard of Soap BUT as luck would have it Soap needed his assistance on the bomb, taking Price off look out. So unfortunately there is an explanation
The most unbelievable thing about this whole debacle is that the original MW3 itself was rushed. So, they had a chance to not repeat history and surpass the original, but were so grossly incompetent, they couldn't even reach OG!MW3's toes let alone surpass it.

14 years ago i played the original MW2. Even though i wasnt big into the series and played the campaign only once i still remember the EMP cutscene showing the ISS station with dramatic music, the explosion and then effing helicopters raining down like flies while the main cast frantically tried escaping fallen Washington. I vividly remember the goosebumps i got when Cpl. Dunn just screamed HOLY SHIT. And now this. I'm tired boss...
For some reason, the part where the lone soldier is screaming "STAR" because he can't remember the code still gets me and I don't know why. The pouring rain and the feeling of sorting out the aftermath felt really tense.
I remember bringing up MWIII ('23) in a conversation about TCoA&L. Basically, in the original MW2 and MW3 to an extent, everything has cause and effect. Makarov is treated as a big threat because his actions have actual consequences. Him saving Zakhaev leads to the events in MW. His nuke leads to the death of the player character and Shepherd's madness. The Airport Massacre leads to WW3. So finding and killing him is an important goal for TF 141. But in MWIII ('23), Makarov's actions have very little consequences. I assumed No Russian was going to lead to an invasion of Urzikstan, a parallel to the Ukraine War. But we get nothing. No war, no consequences. It's neutered and incoherent in its story.
History doesn't always repeat, but it does often rhyme. If I had a nickel for every time a modern warfare 3 came out and was criticized for not changing enough compared to MW2 I would have 2 nickels which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.
The difference is the first MW3 was actually a good game, it just didn’t innovate as much as it could have. I’d be surprised to hear anyone call MW3 (the second) good.
@davidstepney5394 Og mw3 had the best spec ops and it's multiplayer was mw2 but balanced. Og mw3 Did nothing groundbreaking but it was still solid, MWIII however, is beyond garbage. And the most hilarious part? *SOAP COMES BACK!!!* . So, the entirety of MWIII could be cut and it would change; nothing
Makarov in MW3: A legitimate threat to society; a villain with genuine goals willing to resort to brutal methods to reach them.

Even in mw19 we had Alex with the ULF
even in mw2 ww Had Vargas group, Soap and Roach working with specops teams and Vargas, Price and Gaz doing stuff on the other end of the planet doing the more stealthy stuff most of the time. Hell I remember a mission in one of the OG modern warfare's at least I believe it was one of them where you're playing through the mission and halfway through you come across some snipers that were like lost by their battalion or something and through the rest of the mission they give you sniper support I don't understand why they couldn't do that in one of the half emissions where it's actually a linear mission.

hilarious if this is true lmao they put like 0 effort into this game if that's the case
@@TheActMan if that's the case they literally only changed the gunplay and ported guns from mw2019 lmao

What's funniest is that he predicted soaps return just it was in season 4 💀
I think it's pretty obvious that Alex and Graves were never originally intended to return to the modern warfare storyline. They were going to be in a sort of shrodinger state, so they could have their ending in the main story, but at the same time they'd be revealed to have survived in a Warzone cutscene so they could market them as an operator and sell them.
It's also probably why no player characters flatline during MW 2019 and MW 2 2022.
But they just didn't have any choice but to use Warzone story elements, because they had to asset flip all these scrapped warzone missions and mask them as single player content.
Graves was meant to be returned they literally left audio and lore clues
They literally didn't.

Anyway, this whole story is crazy and I really invite you to read about it, since you seem really invested in the franchise.
good 1 bro
As long as people keep buying their games they’ll survive. Stop buying their games if you don’t like them, it’s what I did this year
Honestly though, they could probably save themselves by venturing into vr. Most VR shooters are fairly timid, and technology has advanced to the point where a good spectacle shooter would be amazing. Literally all they would have to do is make a near direct port of COD 4, MW2, MW3, Black ops, or Black ops 2 and that would sell like wildfire.

- Why didn't samara let go of the gun that was clearly making her look like more of a threat (not that the bomb vest didn't already do that..) It clearly wasn't glued to her hand
- Why is Makarov there? Why couldn't he just let his goons do the job without risking his life?
- Why didn't Samara jump off the plane? (Although this is a stretch since she was clearly in a state of shock unable to comprehend what do to, naively thinking she could still survive and didn't want to guarantee her death)
- Why didn't Samara use the gun in her hand to shoot the bald guy who said she looked like a terrorist? If It was me I'd be very insulted and shoot his ass
- Laswell says "Not enough to prove anything" although there is clearly a video of Makarov boarding the same flight that exploded, how didn't he die? How did he escape? Did no one ask themselves these questions?
- How did Shepherd get captured? (Yes, it was pointed out in the video but I'd like to add to that) He was all the way over in the US when they're based in Russia, how did Makarov's men, or him, infiltrate into the country, with weapons (presumably), into the Pentagon (I think that's where Shepherd was or usually spends his time in the office) and manage to capture Shepherd? How didn't his absence go unnoted by anyone? How did he get captured and transported in such a short interval between the video call with Graves and the Siberia Mission?

In regards to Graves and Alex being "dead". The one trope that COD has carried through generations is that no one dies off screen. Sgt. Woods had a fakeout in BO1 when he literally pulled a grenade belt. Hell, even kravchenko survived the very same grenades that were strapped to his chest.

@rurounijay7100 same, but I'm just a fan of Graves so I wasn't buying they'd just kill him like that
At least with woods and Kravchenko you saw the grenades were stuck on the pole, with Alex and graves there’s no explanation for how they survived other than “I wasn’t in the tank”

Watching the years go by and see WoW grow into not just an appreciated but adored entry in the series warms my heart, because by God does it deserve it.
World at war is the greatest cod of all time. Glad you got to play. There’s a whole generation that never experienced peak call of duty and it’s sad.
The fact that this game and Forspoken got outsold by actually good games like Lethal Company and Hi fi rush is both satisfying and hilarious.
I forgot all about Forspoken.
How many copies did mw3 sell
They said they would stop releasing cod annually and that mw3 is an expansion, and it is. They didnt lie about anything.
@@lil_T_V…a 70 dollar expansion… yeah you know released separately from the game it was an expansion of, marked as a NEW game, promoted as a sequel, it’s not a fucking expansion.
@@cj-3810this dude is bait posting this comment everywhere. Ignore him
Makarov says: "six years" they dub it as "four years".
You had one job, activision..

Fuck, the one time extra thought for story plot was used
The most unbelievable thing about this whole debacle is that the original MW3 itself was rushed.
So, they had a chance to not repeat history and surpass the original, but were so grossly incompetent, they couldn't even reach OG!MW3's toes let alone surpass it.
In 5 years we're Gonna come back to this game and reminisce about how we thought it was the worst that COD was going to get
I hope Microsoft will clean out the studios, even if they do it for the sake of money. We need some new ideas and perspectives.
oh dear god I can't imagine how it gets worse than this
@@lillexus5589I would be very surprised if Microsoft learned anything from this and decided to clean house. As long as the game keeps making enough money, there's no reason to change the current model in their eyes.
@@Blu3-Fir3this one seems to have made less money, so i hope it woke 'em up
I hope to ALL GODS, the hindus, Allah, God, the jewish one, shinto, even DAMN BUDDHA
@@TheActManThey'll start charging reloads with COD Points probably.
The fact there were so many no Russians Makarov pulled just took away the importance of the terrorist attack that OG MW2 did.
Nice to see CoD has gone eco-friendly with all that recycling.
That section of MW2 from “Wolverines!’ to ‘Whiskey Hotel’ is far superior to anything COD has done the past decade.
You remember stuff better when you're younger
that last line speaks volumes. I feel you
For some reason, the part where the lone soldier is screaming "STAR" because he can't remember the code still gets me and I don't know why. The pouring rain and the feeling of sorting out the aftermath felt really tense.
@@scottjs5207 really shows how a lot of the original devs were actual artists with vision and not random hires working to fill a quota
It's neutered and incoherent in its story.
what the hell is tcoA&L???

History doesn't always repeat, but it does often rhyme. If I had a nickel for every time a modern warfare 3 came out and was criticized for not changing enough compared to MW2 I would have 2 nickels which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.
Classic doof
I’ve noticed people looking back on the original MW3 and being like:
“Perhaps I treated you too harshly”
FNAF fans: hold my beer
Makarov in MW3 2023: "NYEEEEEHEHEHEHEHEHEEEEE" *twists mustache* "Behold, foolish Captain Price! MY MISSILES OF DOOOOOOOOOM!!! MWAHAHAHAHAHAAAA" *Soap, Gaz, Price, and Ghost then chase him around like it turned into fuckin' Scooby-Doo while the Benny Hill theme plays*
