Lee, as a native of DC and a frequent visitor of Wolftrap (one show down and two still to go this summer) I can't tell you how much I appreciate the VIP behind the scenes. Yes, we all appreciate the venue but from your perspective, I now can clearly see how much the artists appreciate it as well. Those lower facilities are really amazing. Thank you!
With a bit of research I discovered that this venue was made possible by a donation from Catherine Filene Shouse who lived from 1896 to 1994 so reached the grand age of 98. She was a fascinating person and it is well worth looking her up on Wikipedia.

Hey, Lee and all! Like Red Rocks, Wolf Trap is one of our national musical treasures. From my public radio days, I remember learning about this place as something of a hub for world-class performances during the summer-a bit like Tanglewood. I am happy to see this tradition upheld with you cats.
Wolf Trap is only 15 minutes down the road from me. One of my favorite venues. It's plunk in the middle of a residential community. I've seen dozens of shows there over the past 40 years or so. It is actually a Federal facility operated by the National Park Service, the only one of its kind in the country, I think. It has terrific acoustics. Thanks for the backstage tour.

This is such a bittersweet night for me. I worked Wolf Trap when i was 18, best summer ever. Tonight is it first night back since Covid... And we're moving away. What a perfect night to say goodbye to my beloved Wild Trap!

The paths through the woods along the creek are even nice on the most humid and hottest of the Virginia summer days. The wood behind Mace Hibbard is the old outside wood that was on the Filene Center until last year when they replaced all of the siding. I love that they saved some the used it inside. The interior was all redone these past two years. And man Wolftrap sure feeds you all well! Gosh thank you Leland for such a great tour of the backstage. You didn't show the new deck off of the big performers room. Very nice! Am I not supposed to mention that part? 💚💚💚

The venue you are in now is the second iteration of Wolf Trap. The first burned to the ground in 1982. And, it is wonderfully managed by the National Park Service.

Many great bands have performed at the Wolf Trap. It is an awesome venue. Lyle should record the show for a future CD/DVD record. At least document the concert for memorial purposes. We run three or four songs after they do a line check and done. Do not spend a lot of time. Once Bruce, our front of house engineer says he is done we stop.
Late yesterday afternoon it was announced in Australia that Judith Durham who was the lead singer of The Seekers passed away at 79 years of age. The Seekers really put Australian music on the world map with hits in England and America and at one stage outsold The Beatles. I just wanted to leave a comment because she was an Australian icon and set the pathway for many artists including Helen Reddy and Olivia Newton John. Her kindness will never be forgotten.🙏

The original facility opened in 1971, but burned to the ground in 1982. The current building was started in 1982, and opened in 1984.
@gotham61 a short in the lighting control room burned the original down. I grew up just down the road from there and I remember the fire and the construction of the new venue.

I Watched Spinal Tap again these Days. Me and my Brother would have come to watch Spinal Tap play, if they existed. Such a fun Movie. Thanks for showing us around all these Venues.
Many great bands have performed at the Wolf Trap. It is an awesome venue. Lyle should record the show for a future CD/DVD record. At least document the concert for memorial purposes. The Doobie Brothers made a very popular DVD of their concert at the Wolf Trap. What a magnificent venue you presented with your tour. Everything so green and lush, due to all that great music emanating from the concert hall. Thanks! Stay healthy and be safe!!

We run three or four songs after they do a line check and done. Do not spend a lot of time. Once Bruce, our front of house engineer says he is done we stop.
Late yesterday afternoon it was announced in Australia that Judith Durham who was the lead singer of The Seekers passed away at 79 years of age. The Seekers really put Australian music on the world map with hits in England and America and at one stage outsold The Beatles. I just wanted to leave a comment because she was an Australian icon and set the pathway for many artists including Helen Reddy and Olivia Newton John. Her kindness will never be forgotten.🙏
