Lee, as a native of DC and a frequent visitor of Wolftrap (one show down and two still to go this summer) I can't tell you how much I appreciate the VIP behind the scenes. Yes, we all appreciate the venue but from your perspective, I now can clearly see how much the artists appreciate it as well. Those lower facilities are really amazing. Thank you!

With a bit of research I discovered that this venue was made possible by a donation from Catherine Filene Shouse who lived from 1896 to 1994 so reached the grand age of 98. She was a fascinating person and it is well worth looking her up on Wikipedia.

Hey, Lee and all! Like Red Rocks, Wolf Trap is one of our national musical treasures. Wolf Trap is only 15 minutes down the road from me. One of my favorite venues. It's plunk in the middle of a residential community. I've seen dozens of shows there over the past 40 years or so. It is actually a Federal facility operated by the National Park Service, the only one of its kind in the country, I think. It has terrific acoustics. Thanks for the backstage tour.

Yes you are in Virginia! So happy you all came out ... the Filene Center is in Wolftrap National Park. Hope you got to see some of the rest of the park. It is an oasis in the midst of this incredible growth of development outside of DC. Fantastic show!!!! Thank you all from coming to Wolftrap!!!! Y'all coming next year? We'll be there! ~Yuri
We walk out there every morning. It is a treasure in every season. The paths through the woods along the creek are even nice on the most humid and hottest of the Virginia summer days.
The wood behind Mace Hibbard is the old outside wood that was on the Filene Center until last year when they replaced all of the siding. I love that they saved some the used it inside. The interior was all redone these past two years.
And man Wolftrap sure feeds you all well! Gosh thank you Leland for such a great tour of the backstage. You didn't show the new deck off of the big performers room. Very nice! Am I not supposed to mention that part? 💚💚💚

You are gonna need to sleep like Rip Van Winkle when the tour is over. And then the crew, because it never stops for them- that load out, load in over the last 12 hours had to be a tough one! Well, the show you all put on is amazing! Great time in Philly on Thursday. Enjoy Wolf Trap, I’m in MD so I get there fairly often. Evening Winston
My friend in Auckland tells me he had a lovely 🏍 ride to an old pub in Puhoi,in 18c.
We’re expecting yet More ,,,,,,,global warming this week. Forecast over 30c, hose pipe & such bans started, whilst the mainly foreign owned water companies continue to lose 20% of their capacity in leaks.
      But, we cope🥴

Looking forward to seeing the show tonight. We were there last night too and they were talking about a back stage tour, this would probably fill the bill too.

Oh boy am I embarrassed. I have several live recordings of different artist from The Wolf Trap and I always assumed it was an inside venue. Thanks for opening my eyes Leland.

Interesting that they are flying a center stack here. I don't remember seeing that at any other venue.

OK. I saw the thumbnail, for this video with Steve the trumpeter. Then I saw the name Chris Isaak. How I confused Chris Isaak with Chris Botti....you got me. Let's just say I had a Gilda Radner, Emily Litella moment, "Never mind." And I will say thank you Mr. Sklar!!!

Thanks again for an excellent tour! I wonder, at some point can you go into detail of what a typical sound check is like? How long does it take, do you take turns or play together or both?

We run three or four songs after they do a line check and done. Do not spend a lot of time. Once Bruce, our front of house engineer says he is done we stop.

Late yesterday afternoon it was announced in Australia that Judith Durham who was the lead singer of The Seekers passed away at 79 years of age. The Seekers really put Australian music on the world map with hits in England and America and at one stage outsold The Beatles. I just wanted to leave a comment because she was an Australian icon and set the pathway for many artists including Helen Reddy and Olivia Newton John. Her kindness will never be forgotten.🙏

Oh no! This breaks my heart. I loved that woman. 💙💜💗😭 Thanks for letting us know Steven. I have not been able to complete all the rounds through the comments as thoroughly as I like to the last few days. I keep thinking I can catch up all the way, between knock out rounds of heat, and everything else. 😉🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎵🎵"When I fight authority, authority always wins. When I fight authority, authority always wins." 🤪 I've left notes to myself on how to revive more quickly and effectively, and to - move the smaller fan with me - to the desk workspace area, to hopefully sustain the revived state. 🍀 Turning on Fingertips 1 & 2.
