The fact that you took the time to put out a UA-cam video from your hospital bed speaks to your resilience. I hope for your quick healing and recovery. We all love your videos and your performances.
I don’t know of another celebrity in my lifetime who ever took his fans into a hospital emergency room with him. The raw humanity he broadcasts is a role model for the entire world of social media.
I'm truly sorry about the accident, Lee! First we (the public) knew you as the great bass player that you are, but in the last couple of years, you've became a person that everyone got to know and love, not only because of the music, but because of your personality, your kindness, the great human behind the bass. Hope that things get better as quickly as possible. You made our life much better with your virtual presence, now we all here wish that all the love you gave us, return in multiples to you. Take care and don't worry about videos or work, try to rest and get yourself healthy. George.
I’m in my 40’s and just recently realized your music has been a part of nearly my entire life. Songs from James Taylor and Phil Collins have been the soundtrack of many who like me, grew up listening to FM radio. Anyway, you seem like a really great educator, storyteller and human being. Thank you for sharing your talents with us. I wish you the speediest of recoveries!
Lee, you've let us into your world, humbly and authentically. You've set the bar remarkably high as a brilliant player, and you've done it also as a man seeking to nurture community in the face of very challenging times. Bravo sir, heal well, and thank you!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
How awful! This happened to me 2 years ago. Spent a day in hospital and slowly recovered my ability to walk. I hope your outcome is better than mine. Heal quickly and be careful...
Oh, my gosh! Don’t worry about us. Now is the time to focus on yourself and getting tweaked back into shape. Follow the doctors’ orders and don’t piss off your nurses. Sending gobs of healing energy your way.
Hi Kennon! Man this really shook me to the core. Lee and I are the same age and I recently have had a couple of mornings where I've felt a little light headed and I sure don't have the schedule and grueling routine he has!!!! I hope he listens to his body and gets the rest he sure as hell needs. I'm of course concerned about his playing hand but much more concerned about why he passed out. I hope all goes well for him. He is one great guy I've gotten to know and his humility and kindness is quite unique for someone of his stature. Take care Kennon.
@@47heritage: Everything you said and more! I’m just super glad Lee wasn’t up on his ladder! Life is nothing to trifle with, and Lee makes it abundantly clear that he appreciates his place in the world and wouldn’t intentionally jeopardize his ability to keep doing what he loves. Bottom line is: Lee’s going to be Lee, and hopefully the good doctors and nurses (and all our positive energy) will let him keep on being Lee for a good long time. I just got notified it’s time for me to schedule my annual physical. Bob, when was the last time you saw your primary care doc? And, Lee, get better soon, ok? It’s painful to see you laid up, BUT don’t rush it. Take all the time you need. We’ll be here for you as long as it takes.
You are so right about Lee being Lee. He has the energy of a guy half his age. But, when you take 3 months traveling on a bus and then that private party up in Oregon followed by three rapid days of flights and the excitement of the documentary and immediately start a big yard project geeez that's a lot!! And like me he doesn't sleep all that well every night so much of the time despite how he looks I'm sure he's probably pretty tired. As for me, Kennon, I see my PCP fairly often and he's referred me to specialists in the past few years for kidney stones now under control and a dermatologist for two small skin cancers on my nose the second of which is healing very nicely. So, I do try to take care of myself. Nice talking with you and I'm sure we'll be in touch as Lee's condition is more clearly defined. Let's hope the passing out was due to something simple like exhaustion or maybe just dehydration. All the best my friend!!
It’s good to know you’re taking care of yourself. You and Lee have a half dozen years head start on me, but I’m quickly learning how important it is to stay ahead of the game health wise. It takes longer to bounce back these days. I visit my PCP annually, and my dentist and dermatologist every six months. Oh, ya, I also see a couple orthopedic folks, one for my osteoporosis (who knew?), and one for my worn out knee (limping along with periodic shots; putting off the eventual replacement). Stay well my friend. Zooming this afternoon?

So sorry to hear this news Lee. Your attitude and spirit will be powerful medicine for your recovery. Sending good thoughts and best wishes for it to be a speedy one.
Hi Leland. I'm relieved to see from your latest video that you are sore but OK and will get better. Make sure you get the down time you need. I don't normally make posts, but your plight reminded me of last year when we lost a great musician and singer called David Longdon due to a fall. Often the intensity of a musician's schedule can be so intense and exhausting, and it is something that gets overlooked. Once again all the best, rest up, stay cool and keep rockin.
Phew, the beard is ok! On a serious note, take care man you ain't twenty I believe and you mean a lot to many many people and dogs. Wish you good care and quick healing. And a more then well deserved time of relaxation.
I’ve been a fan since I became aware of you on Tapestry, and then the flood of albums that followed with your name. That’s a long time. Your bass lines have reached me on a deep (no pun intended) level with your characteristic lilt and gift for melody at the foundation. The world has been brightened by you for half a century. I hear your bass parts pretty much every day in my memory. You’re the reason I bought an Ovation Magnum III in 1981. Don’t go getting injured, man. You were a bit cagey about that “next thing you remembered.” I hope you move through this with the grace of your lines in My Opening Farewell.

I was heartbroken to see you like this, and pray a total recovery, and a new level of musical expression will be birthed out of this experience. Prayers for you, and your family.✨
@@lastnamefirst4035 You be careful too Sue❣️🤗 I'm gonna be extra careful today. Gotta do a long bunch of hikes and bus rides, and a train tracks crossing and highways, Been slowly pulling myself together for it to be the optimal best I can make of it. It's the preliminary to possible housing voucher assistance. No way around it. Gotta push my filing cabinet along. I did renew and schedule an evening van service back home from the bus transfer station in case the meeting runs too late for me to make the last connecting fixed route bus back to my zip code. If I make the second to last bus in time, then I can call and cancel the van which would be waiting an hour later at the same bus switch. Gonna try and avoid the train tracks, if possible. Other wise I will remember to back over them, big wheels first, and be ready to abandon if it all gets stuck.
I send prayers, positive energy and thoughts your way Leland. Get your rest, follow the doctor's orders. Hoping for a quick, and, mostly painless, recovery sir...

I was heartbroken to see you like this, and pray a total recovery, and a new level of musical expression will be birthed out of this experience. Prayers for you, and your family.✨
All the best with your healing. I love your posts and we have some common friends, hope everything is sorted soon!
Lee I am so sorry. The worst injuries for us seniors are caused by falls...usually in the home. Recover quickly and all the best asap.
I had a couple of hard falls recently hitting my head. Its startling and scary. Hard to admit that Im at that age and a "fall risk"
I'm feeling for Leland on the swelling. Sounds like it's in the temple and jaw hinge area. 💜💙🌸
