He sat next to me before his pre-recording on the European TV when he sang “ Another Day in Paradise “I was working as a video assistant and was so impressed by his presence.
It’s a shame they couldn’t use any actual music for this, though. I get it: copyrights and monetization etc. But when we we’re supposed to hear ”Turn It On Again”, and we get some royalty-free catalog disco, it’s not really the same, is it.
My late father worked closely with Phil as he owned a company that designed and built music stages. He ended up building the set for the carousel tour. Even after working with Iron Maiden, Michael Jackson, Metallica and many more, Phil was always Dad's favourite project. I still have an awesome autograph that Phil did for me when I was a baby complete with a self stick man drawing of himself on the drums which is one of absolute prize possessions.
Met Andrea and her kids and John Bertorelli a few times when they lived in B.C. Loved Phil’s 70’s work. I know most of it like the back of my hand. If Phil played on an album we bought it.
If this were the era of cable, they'd have their own 24h channel and it would be getting insane hours of viewing, everyone happily does rewatches of whatever would be on.
Are you kidding? This film was all over the shop. Couldn’t they stay on one interview and one camera in one room for more than 5 seconds? It’s like the editor thought he was making an RnB music video. I loved the interviews but man, this chopping up into little bits is really disorienting. Is this to appeal to the tik tok generation who have tiny attention spans? I would love to just sit and watch each interview from beginning to end with all the natural pauses. But they won’t upload that as it’s all about the clicks.
His music is inextricably woven into my life it seems like I’ve been to ever concert and absorbed every note, yet I never got the chance. I can only imagine that in some parallel universe I was able to do so 😢
@@hv1225 meaning? He was fit as a fiddle, drumming caused him injuries and many operations took it's toll on his body,he wasn't some waster ,don't assume !
Exactly! I mean no disrespect to his son but instead of showing his son playing drums countless times they should have shown Phil at various stages of his career. After all, this was supposed to be a documentary about Phil!
@@bluevictory1010 You can blame Concord Music for that. They denied the Drumeo team permission to use old footage/music of Phil, so they were forced to get creative. Leave it to the suits to not give a fuck about the artists.
Not even 24 hours after posting and nearly 1 M views. Obviously Mr. Collins is still held in the highest regard throughout the world. It's an honor to be here, thank you. His music was with me through University, right through to accepting a new job 24 hours away by car in the mid-80s. Loved the sound of his drums and still recognize a Genesis song and Phil Collins single easily to this day. (That I bought LP's and "upgraded" to CD's goes wo saying)
It's ridiculous when you look at the volume of hit songs and records he was involved in that decade. It's not that he's ever been forgotten, but people think of Madonna or Prince or Michael Jackson as the premier stars of the 80s, but take a look at Phil's catalog; take a look at his sales figures. Astounding!
@@BudSchnelker Michael Jackson and Madonna are the most expensively marketed artists in music history by many millions of dollars. Prince was the inventor of The Minneapolis Sound which dominated pop music in the 80s although Prince did much more than just pop. He was also an incredible drummer. There's not much footage of Prince drumming but here's a link to what I consider the best clip. ua-cam.com/video/Pq98n2j75XA/v-deo.html
It always seems to have appealed to me that one of phil Collins videos or most popular songs has less likes and views then say a Mr. Beater (Mr. Beast) UA-cam video . Phil Collins was a musical artistic legend that created a multitude of record songs before there was even UA-cam 19 years ago . I also encurage the fact that Nic Phil's son takes his place and honors and recognizes his dad for what he has done in his life and not the material possessions he's acquired.
If any documentary films are nominated for awards this year, this one should be a serious contender. Obviously, Phil agreed to participate in it because he saw how well the makers were prepared. This sets a new higher standard for how docs about musicians should be done.
Words can’t describe how much this documentary means to me. I’m 17 years old and most of my life I’ve been in love with Genesis work and Phil Collins, especially his earlier work on Selling a England By The Pound, Nursery Cryne, and Foxtrot, three of my favorite records. Seeing Phil break down what he did back in his days of drumming makes me pretty emotional if I’m honest. My dad loves Genesis and Phil Collins too and saw him live over a dozen times and told me so many stories as a kid. I really can’t say enough good about how much Genesis has changed my life and got me out of many depressive times, he’s my hero. Thank you Drumeo for this amazing documentary and thank you Phil Collins for your musical genius!
Hey Phil, this is J. Robert Spencer from Jersey Boys. We met quite a few times during that bway season when you were working on Tarzan. Man if you see this message, just know I love you. I grew up drumming along with you and singing along with you. You made me a better musician. Great doc and great history of you and your work. peace, love, to you and yours. And Thanks Drumeo!
That is true, but while the content is marvellous, the editing... I mean, how about at least once NOT cutting away after a question? If you ask a question, don't you want to hear the answer?
I wanted it to be a documentary film, but the editor seems to have been under the impression they were producing a 2hr trailer for some kind of thriller. I couldn't tolerate more than 20 minutes of the ridiculously inappropriate, overly-dramatic background music and frenetic editing that constantly felt like it was teasing me with stories to come without ever really settling into telling them properly. It was supposed to be based around interviews with Phil, yet they couldn't just let the man speak? Way to ruin a lot of valuable source material.
@@rhythmace1 If you managed to see the entire thing, it became better after a while. The first half-hour is abysmal, after that it calms down a bit. Never "good" but better.

I’m 72 and while watching this, I relived so many decades of Phil’s music which brought back memories filled with joy and also tears of sadness. You will always be in our hearts, Phil! And, Nic, a shout of gratitude for all the love you give your dad!
Over the two days we spent with him, Phil was cracking jokes all the time, and it was the best. You can tell he misses playing the kit - but man, he was just the coolest.
I met Phil Collins at a small village charity fair where one of the organisers, my mother in law, had invited him to attend to help bring some more than the expected 20 people. Phil never replied... He just turned up! What an incredible person! We had an amazing day, raised a LOT of money for the local charity. A humble man, who is just an amazing human being! Beautiful to watch this interview!
This was one of the most moving experiences I've had in recent memory. I'm not often a fan of documentaries and the like, but this was incredibly well done. I hope the people "behind the scenes" are proud of this. They've earned it! Enjoy your family and your well-deserved retirement Phil Collins. You've given us an amazing body of work to enjoy for many years to come.
This was shocking to me, not seeing him for quite a while. He looks like a cute little old British man. Crazy that he's only 73. What an absolute legend this man is.
I lost tears now. There will never be another musical genius like Phil Collins. I am so grateful for his fantastic music. My life was much better because of him. Actually not a single day goes by without the wonderful memories of the best decade of my life. The 80´s. Phil is and will remain a huge global superstar. His energy on stage was outstanding! Thank you a lot Phil!!! Thank you so much ☺
Wish I'd gotten to see him live the absolute legend he is. Listen to his music all the time. His autobiography got me through recovery after surgery couldn't put the book down and I don't normaly read. Remember listening to his music in my parents car as a kid.
It‘s simple. That guy is the reason why I play drums. Been introduced to his music when I was 5 years old and 33 years later I‘m still addicted. God bless you, Phil! I hope to see more of Nic soon! And thank you Drumeo, this may very well have been the most enjoyable two hours of this year! Greetings from Eisenach, Thuringia, Germany
I was born in ‘76. I didn’t appreciate Phil Collins when his music was happening in real time, but his music brings me back to another time, another place when I was a young kid that had all my life in front of me. So much time has passed in the blink of an eye. I want to thank Mr. Collins for the memories. I appreciate you now.
Getting old really sucks, seeing Phil like this pulls my heart strings, so many beautiful memories of his music will be forever with us, a literal legend and loved this video.
It's not really age. In the case of Phil, he has had a list of health issues for some time now and they kept piling up and this is the end result (i.e., Diabetes, alcoholism, hearing loss, multiple surgeries to his neck and spine, nerve damage, etc).
I remember hearing "Ripples" as a teenager, and understanding that old age is coming, but it's not coming for a while. And then you're on the other side of that pool and the ripples hit you. And so here we are, the story is being told, and the ripples are indeed on the other side. Thanks, Phil. And thanks, Nic, for bringing the glorious story back to life.
Nobody gives me as much nostalgia as Phil Collins, he's like a long lost friend you get to meet again everytime you listen to his songs and realize nothing has changed. Love you Phil so so much
I agree with you. Now you got me thinking of that line from the song. “Turn It On Again”. That line is, “I have known you for so very long, feeling like a friend.” That line hits differently, now.
Phil Collin’s is so incredibly talented. Miami Vice would not have been the hit that is was without Phil Collin’s Music. The music just comes into your soul. Last week I watched Take Me Home and it made me feel so good. And every time I have watch Phil he is such a humble man. I’m really happy I found this video. Phil Collin’s has touch so many lives. God Bless
This is a piece of musical history that should not only be watched by those who are drummers, but all musicians. This video is literally something that needs to be preserved.
This is a phenomenal tribute to your Dad. Thank you for sharing with the rest of us. And give your Dad a hug and tell him thank you for sharing his talent with the rest of us.
Born in 68, I feel incredibly lucky to have grown up with Phil's music. Have seen them live once. The Lamb lies down on Broadway, abacab, genesis, invisible touch.. what incredible masterpieces and what a great person. I take a deep bow.
@@wilsonbrownofficial2828 Born '66, saw PC in 2007 (2nd gig of Genesis tour), Katowice under thunderstorm, shown in the _Come Rain Or Come Shine_ film. A long, rolling, mighty thunder locked in pure magic synchro with the ending notes of Duke's Travels.
I am 60 years old. I cant express in words how wonderful watching this was for me. I love music. While i have found it impossible to play an instrument, I appreciate the hard work and time invested. Being able to love what you are doing enough to pass that love on to a son. Building the foundations strong over time without smothering him. Understanding that its a journey with more than one path. Letting all the different paths happen knowing that regardless of the outcome they will build a more amazing foundation for you son. Yes you could shorten the path, but why would you do that. You want him to be able to play your work. More importantly you want him to shine on his own. You did this. Stopping yourself from overshadowing your children is difficult. You never know if its to much or not enough. I am genuinely happy for you and your boy. Thankyou for taking the time to share. Thankyou Drumeo for making it possible. I will be sharing this with my two sons.
I only discovered how amazing a drummer Phil Collins was this year. Hopefully more people will see how incredible his work was because of this documentary!
I don't think anybody understands the depth of musicianship that this man had. Drummer, singer, keyboardist, actor, priducer, and one of the most unique playing Styles and drumming sounds in the history of popular music. Well deserved rest is now in order for this legend.
My friend saw him a few years ago in concert. I told him I'd love to catch him in concert one of these days, and I remember him telling me, you better do it soon, I don't think he'll be touring much longer. You know you think of all these bands and artist we listened to back in the 80's, with Mtv being new and getting to see all their latest video's, you still imagine them in their 20's and 30's. Then you realize you were in high school forty years ago and all your favorite artist aren't the young people you remember on Mtv, they're all in their 60's and 70's now! I have seen a lot of my favorite bands and artist from the 80's in concert over the years, but unfortunately never did get to see Phil, thanks for making this documentary on him. Defiantly a rare talent.
God bless Phil Collins ! He has been and is...a great inspiration to me. Been singing for years on choirs, karaokes, jams, ect. Classically trained on piano, learned harmonica when small, guitar too. BUT ! ...felt drawn to the drums at 57and taught myself .....starting on Allessi Electric ones - then a couple of years later got a Pearl 'Roadshow' kit. Woooooow ¡¿¡¿¡ I continue to play along to many genres ... songs old n new. Just had a hip replacement - which kept me off me drumz for a coupla weeks - and get sore elbows with arthritis but ..... I will carry on and ...having just retired - I hope to go around my usual jam troupe and finally join/make up a band. 😊❤❤
My aunt posted a clip from this doc on FB and I did a double-take: Is that Phil Collins? How is that possible? 😮 I had to check myself: He’s not young anymore, and neither am I…physically. Otherwise, though? We’re ageless. 😊
Thanks to everybody involved in making this video. We were fortunate enough to catch Phil and Nic in Perth on his Not Dead Yet tour in Jan 2019. So thankful. Thanks for all the music, Phil.
I wasn't planning on crying this morning, but contrast of the legacy of this man, the sheer talent, the impact of his work, his affable personality and father time is hitting pretty hard. Gotta say this was in incredible watch, and I am insanely jealous you all got to meet him. I'm also incredibly appreciative of the work the @drumeo team and @brandonToews put into this to share with us. When Phil and Stevie go, I am gonna shut down for weeks with a pile of vinyl (yes actual) and a case of tissue. ♥
I'm a guitar dude, but Drumeo I think is my favorite youtube channel. And this doc/interview session with Phil is next level top tier stuff. Thanks for doing this and sharing it with us.
@@ZukeIGuess me? But I love guitar.
Really hard to see him like this but also incredibly inspiring. Aging is.....the worst thing ever. As I do it myself i realize that it's the enemy of everything. I never liked this guys music in the day but now at 53 i.....miss it compared to today's "music". Seein these guys as "old" just makes me feel old.....not a great feeling. This is literally the saddest but....most inspiring thing i've seen in a LONG time. Music is eternal. Phil will live on forever.
The amount of shit Phil Collins got from many, just because he was mega successful, popular, and constantly on the radio. When in reality Phil is one of the greatest talents in music history -- drummer, pianist, singer, songwriter -- an absolute legend! Netflix needs to do a biography on him and Genesis.
I didn’t understand the hate thrown at him during his 80s(I’m a GenZ) and most of the comments I saw was because of his over exposure in radio stations back then(which is a normal reaction with a repetitive music, but the excessive passion was too much). That I feel like, what made the music industry got a lot to do than himself personally. Knowing and learning Phil as a drummer was a change of course thankfully before I got into hate-train, and it’s the Drumeo channel that made it possible. This documentary sealed it.
For me the biggest hate for him was when during the 80s he played the drums for Led Zeppelin in a benefits concert. And it was horrible. It was like they asked him minutes before hand to play for them, and he had no chance. It hurt his career a lot, then he did a show that had some blues greats, and he stood out for all the wrong reasons. In both cases, he should have never been there. It's like trying to put Buddy Rich with Led Zeppelin, and finding it doesn't work. Buddy Rich is iconic and amazing, but that isn't where he belongs. Same with Phil. Iconic and amazing.
The fact that he supported the Thatcherite conservative party and left the UK to live in Switzerland for tax reasons didn't help his cause. They were major factors in the shit that he got in the 80s.
I saw Phil during his solo peak in Berlin. A legend. I cant imagine whats its like to be his son. What a source of information and stories. Drumeo outdid themselves. Seeing Phil in his condition makes one realize that time flies. I wish him the best.
Absolute stunning documentary! Grew up listening to Phil through Genesis and solo work and everything in between. My 25 year old son is a huge fan also, I made sure to raise him with "real" music and was blessed to be able to take him to see Genesis live with Nic playing, such a thrill. They were my first ever concert as a teen and nothing compares to a live Genesis show. I'm sure it had to do with the cost of using the songs in the videos, but wish they could have mixed in a some of the actual songs they talked about, would have loved to hear the descriptions, Nic play, and then the actual song to hear the nuances of his mastery of his instrument. Still an absolute joy to watch this, and will watch it over again. Phil and his music are such an integral part of my life. Can't express how much joy and happiness he has brought to mine, and so many others existence.
Everyone at Drumeo involved with this, deserves an award. What an incredible documentary, with a true legend, and his son. For those of us who grew up with Phil's music in the 70s and 80s, we love the man. True true legend. It's also great to see Nic love and admire his Father. This is the best thing I've seen on youtube in forever. 👍🤟👏👏👏👏
I wanted a drum kit when I was 5 years old so I could sound like Phil. That was a pointless purchase, because I was born with cerebral palsy and could never even hold a stick, but my parents bought it for me anyway and took my picture in front of it. That was 35 years ago. Phil has always been my idol and I'm very grateful to Brandon for this documentary. If Brandon is ever willing to do my podcast, I would be eternally honored. Phil’s autobiography from 2016 is funny, candid, and fascinating, but this deep dive into his place in history as a percussionist is a terrific companion piece. Thanks for making this available for free. I’m always so fascinated that even after recording demos for trick of the tail, Phil was still hoping they would find another singer. He may view himself as a drummer who sings, but his vocal performance on that album is one of my all-time favorites.

I think it was early 90's when I took my Mom to a Phil Collins concert. When In The Air started to play, you couldn't see him at all. The intro went on for a while, and we could hear him starting to sing. Right before his drum section came up, what we saw were large metal trash cans rising up from below the stage, and there sat Collins with drumsticks in hand. He then launched into that awesome drum bit, making it appear that he was playing on old metal trash cans. A very memorable moment. Side note...my Mom had a hard time hearing for the next couple of days...lol!! She loved the concert, though!! He's incredible!!
I grew up listening to Phil Collins, my Dad was a die hard fan. In grade school music class, Phil Collins was in the music history book for being one of the most influential drummers of the 70s and 80s. I don't think anyone else in the class knew who Phil Collins was, but I sure did! Took my Dad to see Phil Collins for his birthday. It was a good birthday.
Blimey, it was emotional watching this. Phil is a LEGEND. From the age of 14 he's been a icon of mine and the soundtrack of my teens, youth and middle years. Thank you for everything!
Tears flowing. My family doesn’t seem to understand me, and the influence this man and his music has had on my life. When he held the drum sticks…lost it there. Thank you Mr. Collins, and your band mates, for creating my life’s anthems…my Celestial soundtrack!
The nostalgia that surrounds Phil Collins alone could bring me to tears. As a kid of the 80s, my Dad was always playing him. I’ve loved his music my whole life. I got to see him in concert several years ago, when his son was playing drums. He opened with Against All Odds and I was a puddle on the floor. I cried when the concert was over, I did not want it to end. Incredible and timeless musician.

That was an amazing set. His stage and lighting was always outstanding after taking it from his genesis days. What a legacy, thanks for sharing.
Would you share on your IG that documentation (photo etc.) you and PC
Met Andrea and her kids and John Bertorelli a few times when they lived in B.C. Loved Phil’s 70’s work. I know most of it like the back of my hand. If Phil played on an album we bought it.
That is ok. Cheers
Your dad lived a good life by what you say. Love it
Really want to acknowledge Nic here. What a great kid the way he honors his dad. I’m sure Phil is very proud of him.
He's not baby goat... He is rhythm of his father ❤🎉 turns it on again
What an achievement. Drumeo has outdone themselves this entire year. Well done.
If this were the era of cable, they'd have their own 24h channel and it would be getting insane hours of viewing, everyone happily does rewatches of whatever would be on.
Thank you so much 🙏🏻
An exceptional film and tribute to PC!
Terrific PDF/book too - so many thanks for this, a great film and bravo Nic too
Are you kidding? This film was all over the shop. Couldn’t they stay on one interview and one camera in one room for more than 5 seconds? It’s like the editor thought he was making an RnB music video.
I loved the interviews but man, this chopping up into little bits is really disorienting. Is this to appeal to the tik tok generation who have tiny attention spans?
I would love to just sit and watch each interview from beginning to end with all the natural pauses. But they won’t upload that as it’s all about the clicks.
It's an absolute crime that we'll never hear Phil Collins ply live again. Nature and time can be cruel.
Maybe we haven’t heard the last of Phil drumming?
His music is inextricably woven into my life it seems like I’ve been to ever concert and absorbed every note, yet I never got the chance. I can only imagine that in some parallel universe I was able to do so 😢
Maybe still a cure, treatment, healing in the future...Can still sing so there's hope !
I totally agree, life is so unkind
Yeah and we didn’t hear him play here either
Age is a cruel thing - It comes to us all. Phil is a genius.
As Phil himself said, “Getting old sucks.”
He is 73, 10 years older than the Metallica guys. It is clear that his lifestyle choices played a big part in how he is now.

Videos like this solidify the idea that TV is going to be replaced. This is better than most TV docs I've seen.
The only thing I wish this marvelous documentary had included is the actual footage of Phil playing all of these pieces.
It would have taken months! But man, I would be here for it.
I agree! Seems like the corperate suits got in the way of that :(
It’s a travesty to not have any B-roll OR audio playing throughout the 2 hours. So incredibly odd and annoying.
Over 1 million now. Just goes to show how great phil is
its phill collins!
Agreed , I’m in my sixties listened to Phil for many of those years
@lisaa8795 It speaks for itself how popular he is, a great drummer🥁 👍 😊.
1.6 million now. A great look at a legendary musician at a way not even Entertainment Tonight or talk shows would cover.
Drumeo preserving history for all who will come after us. Thank you
That feeling when you listen through a "more experienced" person's music playlist, albums, or cds and that one song hits you.
❤
I cannot be thankful enough
this will probably remain a phil collins interview, it seems that the old man will die soon
interesting to hear the last words of the Legend!
Not sure who to thank. Jared, the team, whoever. This is special
I love how Nic seems to have a genuine love and COMPLETE knowledge of all of his dad’s drumming and music.
This man was the soundtrack of the 1980's.
Him and Hall & Oates...
@@johncook9392 Hall and oates was a duet / duo. I'm not so sure they would be labeled in the same category or level Phil Collins was at in the 80s .
Phil will never get old.
We still see you Phil.
Much love
what are you talking about he's old as fuck.
If any documentary films are nominated for awards this year, this one should be a serious contender. Obviously, Phil agreed to participate in it because he saw how well the makers were prepared.
This sets a new higher standard for how docs about musicians should be done.
100000 per cent agree.
Here here!!!!!
"We're almost at the end of the video now..." this is not a video. This is a documentary film. Be proud, you earned it.
@@rhythmace1 You are being a bit harsh in my opinion. As a documentary filmmaker myself I can assure you this is really, really difficult to pull off. Yes, do point out what you don't like but if you go too hard, like I think you currently are, you will discourage them from taking big swings like this again. Everyone learns by doing and these guys did something great that we don't really have a right to expect, especially for free. It's a giant gift and one that makes me excited for what they will produce next.
Phil Collins is one of my favorite musicians of all time. No one connects me back to the 80's like this man!

I’m 72 and while watching this, I relived so many decades of Phil’s music which brought back memories filled with joy and also tears of sadness. You will always be in our hearts, Phil! And, Nic, a shout of gratitude for all the love you give your dad!

The rapport between Phil and his son is heartwarming.
I LOVE the cheekiness. Phil still has his sense of humor. That sly little smile gets me smiling every time. Never change, Phil.
Over the two days we spent with him, Phil was cracking jokes all the time, and it was the best. You can tell he misses playing the kit - but man, he was just the coolest.
Nic has beautifully assumed the honor to keep alive all Phil Collins´s legacy as a giant musician.
i just the living legacy to the leader of the band

As the interview goes on you can see Phil relax and his years fade away as he relives it all. A fantastic piece of work.
I agree. Phil seemed to become more animated & energized as the video went on.
I noticed that as well. I’m so happy he was given this opportunity.
In this day and age of influencers and attention seekers doing half-witted nonsense, this... THIS deserves to become viral and cherished for all time.

Absolute legend. His legacy is in good hands through his son, Nic.

Thank you so much ☺
I hear ya bro, he's almost as talented as Boy George.
Born in 74 and feels just like you
Same. Born in 77 and to me Phil Collins is pool music because they played the local radio station at the public pool. Brings me back every time.
77. Remember when i turned 16 my parents gave me phil Collins tickets...old coliseum in Cleveland. Phil and genesis owned the 80s
shut up we're still young! (also 76)
Born in 71. Falling in love for Genesis and Phil Collins back then. Thank you MTV. LOL.
I haven‘t even started the video, and I‘m in tears already. Phil Collins is a living legend. He did so much for Humanity than he knows.

Getting old really sucks, seeing Phil like this pulls my heart strings, so many beautiful memories of his music will be forever with us, a literal legend and loved this video.
or it’s a privilege many don’t have
It's not really age. In the case of Phil, he has had a list of health issues for some time now and they kept piling up and this is the end result (i.e., Diabetes, alcoholism, hearing loss, multiple surgeries to his neck and spine, nerve damage, etc).
Yes, same feeling here. We have to see it the other way around.
We have to focus on all the great music he composed and contribute right, long career.
Sadly, Phil aged very poorly. He looks 90 years old and he’s 72. Sting is one year older and he has more energy than many young folks.
Yeah. My first concert ever was seeing genesis at maple leaf gardens at 11 years old.
Phil's drum solo on in the air tonight is absolutely legendary!!!!..
LEGENDARY!!!!
Seen Phil with Genesis in 83 or 84, his drum solo lasted 10 mins + Memorable, Amazing!!
So, what about Drum Duet with Chester Thompson? 😁😁😁

It’s a fill not a solo.
this documentary deserves to be huge
Amazing, the best Phil Collin’s documentary…seriously amazing
I remember hearing "Ripples" as a teenager, and understanding that old age is coming, but it's not coming for a while. And then you're on the other side of that pool and the ripples hit you. And so here we are, the story is being told, and the ripples are indeed on the other side. Thanks, Phil. And thanks, Nic, for bringing the glorious story back to life.
Phil is one of the greatest drummers ever and nice to see this focus on his superb drumming.
Yep and Genesis is the best prog band ever. They don't have any real competition.
Geez Larry, you're everywhere!
I totally agree!!!
Phil Collins as a drummer? He is one the most underrated drummer of all time. Thank you for your all time legacy!
Less underrated where I’m from
From Genesis to his solo work I have loved Phil Collins for decades!!
This was long overdue. Phil Collins is amazing.
Phil Collin’s is so incredibly talented. Miami Vice would not have been the hit that is was without Phil Collin’s Music. The music just comes into your soul.
He was given no rehearsal and let's be honest Led Zep were in very bad shape at the time.
The fact that he supported the Thatcherite conservative party and left the UK to live in Switzerland for tax reasons didn't help his cause. They were major factors in the shit that he got in the 80s.
Even when the cool kids were bagging him, I doubled down with my love. Now they all seem to be "lifelong fans".

The relationship between Nic and Phil is very moving
Thank you for everything, Phil. Thank you
I saw Phil during his solo peak in Berlin. A legend. I cant imagine whats its like to be his son. What a source of information and stories. Drumeo outdid themselves. Seeing Phil in his condition makes one realize that time flies. I wish him the best.

As a Brit I have to say Phil is a national treasure! One of the best musicians to come from our small island and an absolute hit making legend!
Phil Collins has left his legacy in recorded material and his son. He will continue on. It's a beautiful moment.
I fully agree but please don't forget Simon, his elder son and what he has also achieved in music. He is very much in the shadow.
I started playing drums in '82 so take a wild guess what song i can still play alllllll these years later. Thank you Phil for a lifetime

One of Drumeos greatest and most anticipated achievements, Practically Phil Collins most recent and in depth interviews, and already nearly half a million views. They'll truly never be anything alike Phil, A true one-of-a-kind legend, with a never ending legacy, inspiring so many generations young and old, from his drumming, to Genesis, to his solo career. Wishing you all the best, Phil. An incredible interview, and aspect. 👑
❤
I adore that song, its one of the bet.
Err best
Phil Collins is a treasure! He needs to be protected by all means! ❤
Thank you for everything!
this will probably remain a phil collins interview, it seems that the old man will die soon
interesting to hear the last words of the Legend!
An amazing Drummer, amazing singer, amazing songwriter and composer, amazing perfomer, amazing persona - amazing everything! This guy gave me so many happy moments during my lifetime, in Genesis and as a solo artist. A giant!
Phil Collins is in fact a genius. I’ve been listening to him since I discovered him at 13 I’m 53. Seen him in concert and what a treat that was!
